- What does it take to stay at the top of the poker world while navigating family life and personal hardships? Phil and Farah Galfond offer a rare behind-the-scenes look into the lives of poker’s power couple in their new poker docuseries.
🎁 Phil's free e-book & weekly poker strategy: ➡️ galfond.link/s...
In the first episode of their poker documentary series, personal friends of the Galfonds and professional poker players explain the origin story of Phil Galfond, also known as 'OMGClayAiken''.
Through interviews with family, friends, and Phil himself, this documentary provides clarity on a variety of questions like (but not limited to); how Phil Galfond started playing poker professionally, the origin of the companies Run it Once Poker and Run it Once Training, where the Galfond Challenge came from as well as how it affected him personally, and even how Phil and Farah Galfond met.
In weekly episodes, people who know Phil personally like Andrew Robl, Jason Koon, Brian Rast, Matt Berkey, Nick Schulman, Maria Ho, Elliot Roe, Farah Galfond, David Tuchman, Joe Stapleton, Dan Quinn, Jason Senti, Joni Jouhkimainen, and Landon Tice share insights and highlights from their time spent with and around Phil through the years.
Whether it’s the reality of playing poker at the highest level against the best poker players in the world, operating a poker training / poker coaching site and an online poker site, or facing tough personal loss and finding the ability to triumph, this docuseries aims to highlight the emotional rollercoaster you may be faced within a non-traditional career path like playing professional poker.
In every poker related video on this channel, Phil Galfond is here to teach you how to think like a professional poker player.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a new or beginner poker player (or even a full time poker coach!)

Thanks for the support on our biggest production yet! This is a four-part series. Episode 2 comes out next Friday, July 5th!
We set the stage with this one, and go deep in the next. Enjoy!
Love this, great series, keep it going!
Not bad at all production wise. Nice hook at the end.
This is awesome, you've always been a highly regarded member of the poker community! I look forward to the next releases!
DAMN!!! Best 13 minutes of content I’ve watched
So you’re admitting online poker IS RIGGED??
How else could pokerstars “make sure there is no profitable players”??
Obviously they did what you were concerned with.
Stop the silence and scamming people selling them a fake dream
This should be good
Pretty groovy so far Joe.
Its real cringy
watch it and report back lol
It’s cool 😃 locked in💪💪
15" POKER HAAAAARRRRDDD

Im a simple man. I see Phil, I hit like.
❤
The brightest and nicest guy in poker.
Greatest poker player in the world (ranked by humanity and contribution to the game)
😊♥
True!
Happy for you Phil. So glad you have Farah. I was a Pro Poker Player and Sports Handicapper/Consultant lived in Summerlin near Red Rock Casino in Vegas for 15 years (2005-2020). My partner Sara was with me for about 8 of those years. She had bipolar disorder and she unfortunately died by suicide when I went away one weekend by July 4th to visit my parents in Laguna Beach. The love of my life was gone. She never could handle my unique lifestyle gambling, my crazy hours always focused on the games, it was a huge stressor, even though it paid for all our bills and much, much more. I miss her every day and wonder what would have been different had I not been focused on the gambling all day everyday 7 days a week. I am so glad you have this support system, including your parents. It is so important. Again, so happy for your success and happiness man. I left Vegas when Covid hit, I felt it was time for some changes. I will be watching your episodes from a bit north now in Lake Tahoe.
Bro, your story is insane. Can't imagine what you've been through.
@@dkizxpt-su3ze Thanks John. It was insane, including my own Cancer diagnosis in 2015. My Dr in Summerlin completely misdiagnosed me too. I am lucky, I am a survivor. I appreciate every day, my health, my family. I have learned now that life is more than just the constant pursuit of money and riches. That is all gambling was to me, a personal gratification/fulfillment, made me feel more significant and important. That is not what produces the happiness in the end. Took me like 20 years to realize that. Now I feel more satisfaction helping others and helping society
So sorry man. My heart goes out to you.
@@dkizxpt-su3ze Thank You man
@@davidholender6855 I appreciate it David. It sure has been hard mentally
There are so many great things one can say about Phil but for me I just love to hear his calm and very soothing voice 😀
His voice sings me AI generated lullabies every night
Happy to be part of the video being a fanboy 😂😂
babbo!
I was trying to find a comment from you. I was like wait is that babbo?
Phil's incredible run at the end in the Galfond Challenge was one of the all time greatest gaming moments of my lifetime, that was SUCH a fun day. Also such a kind and nice dude, good for poker all around. Great teacher of the game, and it's really cool to get Farah's insight as well.
One my favorite “sports” moments I’ve ever watched live.
So sick!! I will actually always remember watching it and where I was there. He needed to win this one hand (like 10 from the end) or it was OVER and he freaking won it!!
@@corycosta6257same!!! I was watching Joe Ingram commentate it live
This is terrific but wtf is Landon Tice on here for and why the hell is he is so awkward lol
Really awesome piece of content. Can see the effort that went into it
Thanks, man! You’ll enjoy the future episodes more!
Was really into this until Landon appeared. Instant shut off.
Is Galfond being tapped to step-in for Biden as the nominee? Who makes a doc about themselves when he is already superbusy?!
Made it a minute in because Phil’s a goat but I don’t get why I’d want to watch people say how great he is. Much luck to the new series but I’m out
High quality production. Deserving of a feature length version. Watching it while laying back on my couch, running it once. Ty Phil and team.
Thank you! The next episode (next Friday) is 20 minutes and so is the one following that. I think you’ll really enjoy them!
Best advice in my life Phil
"WE don't manage time, we manage activities"
Write out 5-7 goal achieving activities per day and go about your day ticking off each goal as you!!
Never try more than 7.
You'll get more done in a month , than others get done in a year! FACT

Hey, there's me!
Great work Phil and the team. No matter how highly Phil is regarded by the poker community, it's not enough imo.
This is awesome Phil! So pumped for this series! Sending it to the poker crew... Thanks for everything you do man.
Thank you!
The man’s glow-up was real
This shit is giving me 'Upload This In Case I Die' vibes and I dont like it 🙄
id love if if you just went full-on youtuber poker content. i loved your videos on ivey poker lore, would love to hear some of ur old 2p2 stories about when you and durr were roommates and tales of early vegas days with roble and those guys. i know you have way too much stuff going on for that, but i for one would love more content on 'the good old days'..
nice
this might get more views if the people you interviewed were featured in the thumbnail
“Has done nothing over the years to lose that respect, which is saying a lot for a poker player” in the current climate where every day it seems like someone is getting exposed on socials for scams/not paying people back this is so important
Why is landon in here?
What was the point of landon? 😂
Can't wait for GALFOND 02! "I am THE Guy!"
Glad to see everyone got a chest and arm pump in pre-filming 💪😅
Awesome production - can’t wait to see the rest of the series! Congrats team Galfond 🔥
Thanks, man 😃
…except Phil 😂
Speaking of Black Friday, it's long past time for the US to return to the international online poker pool.
No, no, no, no, and hell no! I don't want Euros in my game, those fish are all mine!
You lost me when Landon and Berkey started speaking. Why
Exactly like bc Landon snuck his way into being friends with older ppl like a snake he’s relevant now?
I’m a fan Phil, but this is bizarre
Very high production value!
Phil has the highest EQ in the poker world.
Berkey is goofy looking.
To have so many famous poker players willing to come on your video and rave about you just show how appreciated Phil actually is by the community
I love how Galfond can just make a video full of praise for himself and nobody bats an eye because there's really nothing else to say.
You're a true inspiration and the best ambassador for the game. People don't see the struggles but you can be truly proud of everything you've achieved, Phil!
it is a little bizarre if we r being honest about it
Poker reddit hates this
One of the best poker players, and debatably the most respected. A genuinely nice guy. I wish I could say more convey my feelings about Mr Phil Galfond.....
4:18 why is this guy talking about a time where he didnt even play himself , saying you were one of the best players at that time??? How should he know? Guessing? Storys from others? Imo a bit weird to talk about it like they are facts :D
Nothing will sadly ever be like the early days of Online Poker and Full Tilt observer rail for the high stake games along with the tournaments offered on PS and FT with the world player pool. Having that segregated destroyed Online Poker and it has never been the same, terrible!
That comment by Ivey says it all. The man who makes everyone else uncomfortable staring at them.. Is made uncomfortable by you staring at him. A disarming killer. Quite the personal mark of pride when the 🐐 has that opinion of you. Legend...
1:20 Don't want to take anything away from what you said, but I think Ivey said: "I really like looking at you when I play."
This also makes more sense to me when Phil responds: "I look very non-threatening."
Didn’t know Run it Once was also a poker site at one time. 🍿
Think I see where this could be going…
1. PG VIP (to be successful, (new) people in ‘24 need to have context)
2. This series gives that, drives adoption…
But…
how does Octopi fit in?
4. Why aren’t the 2 nicest guys in poker more closely collaborating?
Stay (& staying) tuned!
PS Phil, REALLY enjoyed the piece on Isildur. Thank you.
Do you have a piece of him in the ‘24 WSOP? It’s been great to watch him live. Wish we could see more of his stack building. PG missed an opportunity to have a camera on every hand he played in every event. That’s a PG VIP feature (as well as indexed playback with big pots featured) a la YT haystacks.
Top notch production. Great work.
Thank you, Johnnie! Always love your production value, so that means a lot.
@phil galfond was always an ambassador for poker tbh. I remember peeing next to him in the bathroom during the 2011 WSOP (Im not joking) and I wanted to say and introduce myself but I didn't think he would appreciate that very much LOL, Players have always looked up to him; not just for his poker prowess, but for his teaching style and the way he handled himself.
Well, you did not listen to your players though! Players wanted MTTs from day one but you ignored them! Then you gave them stupid spins that noone wanted. And then you had to shut down because no players. Listened to your players btw...
1:20 , Those Were some of the most entertaining games to watch. I always Loved the table banter. " I really Love looking at you when I play" hahaha Classic. The Top two Phil's in poker, with a honorable mention to Phil Laak.
Absolutely amazing content Phil, really looking forward to the 2nd episode.
THIS WAS SICK CANT WAIT FOR Ep2
I'm confused. Didn't we sit with you a few days ago and watch you cash for like $20K in an online NLH? Why isn't it showing up on Hendon mob? BTW, DNegs bubbled on the same tourney.
Also, looking at Hendon Mob, you only have $3M in total earnings. And in your videos you talk about spending $10M on your website. So you're mostly cash games? I think I remember back in the day people talking about you being the best poker player no one knows about because you only play cash?
This is fantastic. I started playing poker in the early 00s and you were always one of my inspirations. I never got quite as good or made as much money but just the way you think about the game and carry yourself. Love the idea of this series, can't wait to binge them
Love it!! Also sick you got Mikka on your team :)
“Accepted me for all my faults and still managed to fall in love with me” girl, what? Farah, you are the prize and he knew that. ❤
I plan on naming my first born son Phil since it should guarantee he becomes a great poker player, but I wouldn’t complain if some of Galfond’s personality and demeanour rubbed off as well.
Phills obviously the man but I couldnt never understand the strategy with run it once poker site. Im wondering if there was a little bit of self delusion and group think in beleiving that regs were important to the eco system. While poker is an awesome game at the end of the day the professionals are preditory and rely on weaker players to win money. GG poker saw the obvious business model of building a site which attracted fish knowing the regs would come hunt them. (evening banning pros at the beggining who won too much)
Why is Landon Tice in this he was no one during Black Friday was he even alive. He’s only popular because of his connections he’s horrible
Lfg
Good cliffhanger Phil, you have a new subscriber ;)
After his comment about poker stars, does anyone have any suggestions for sites to play on which aren’t scummy?
The background music kept making me think the House MD theme was about to drop.
Nice piece about someone we definitely look up to in the poker world. His integrity is just as important as his top playing and coaching ability. Good stuff Phil.
Black Friday sucked 😢haven’t played online since and used to crush it on pokerstars , great vid hi from Australia
Shout out to STapes wearing a "Blocker aren't Real" shirt during the interview
Love the content and insight. How much poker do you play nowadays?
'Poker themed casino where no pros can win' - ggpoker summed up
There is hundreds of pro's on GG that make 10k+ a month fairly easy...
I'm thinking of changing my name to Phil. I believe all Phil's are great at poker.
I could watch 8 hours of this, easily! thanks Phil!
Galfond going next level with production value there!
Bonsoir je suis Français et j'adore ce que tu fais Phil ! Déjà les vidéos bluefire c'était la nuts ! Cf: philosophy vol 1 haha moment 🙏🙏
Congratulations bro, you have great character and smart player.
Cool, Poker Babbo taking a selfie with Phil Galfond.
So happy to be here for episode 1. Just got done playing one of the craziest poker sessions of my life and see this. Youre the man Phil
I've been depressed lately but this put a smile on my face.
Happy I could put a smile on your face and I’m sorry you’re going through it right now. Moving my body helps me when I’m feeling down or stressed - even just a walk. It’s usually the last thing you feel like doing, but when I can, I thank myself. Feel better ❤️🩹
@@PhilGalfond Thanks Phil.
Stapes' "Blockers aren't real" shirt. 🤣🤣🤣
THE FALCON
This really feels like the legend Phil leaves before his retirement, please dont be so (,:
a kid born in 2000 giving his thoughts on 2008 poker scene lol
Durrr went ginger and jacked for this video.
Cool to see that old 2+2 STTF forum homegame picture from the early days. I spent at lot of time in STTF section between 2007 and 2011 and the longest members would always reminisce that photo with all the legends that were once there.
The good ol days.
Top-notch production Miika & can't wait for ep2 Great job!
The lesson here is hes well balanced. That makes people successful.
I’ve followed your career since the beginning. Always one of my top 10 favorite players. I just like your style and demeanor. I have to say you are looking great! It shows that you’ve been working out😊 watching you right now at one of the feature tables at the main. That is how I heard about your YT channel. Really enjoying it and looking forward to more. Good luck to you both at the main.!
Awesome! Welcome to the channel; and thank you for the kind words and the long-time support!
Releasing a docuseries about yourself, titled as your own name (that presumably spends its entire time gnoshing on your own snozberry) on your own channel is peak narcissism. Wild stuff from Phil🤣👏
Just going to drop what Phil commented somewhere else:
"I wouldn’t say I’m the one making it, but I’m the one releasing it, sure. I felt a little uncomfortable about the first episode, but the team insisted on setting the stage and I generally agree with them.
I don’t feel uncomfortable otherwise. People keep asking me to show what a day or week consist of for me / behind the scenes of my life. This is that. I just prefer higher production value."
Phil seems like a dead cert cult leader. Intended as a compliment.
Thanks for the upload, great series.
Awesome show Phil. Im in!
😊❤️ thank you, man!
Wow, this is so good. Annoyed I waited so long to watch.
Phil Galfond: don't ever lend money - the miniseries
I need more! This content is so good. More, please, soon.
See you next Friday!
This was a huge treat! Thank you Phil😁
Looks like a cross between Abe Lincoln and Zalenski
So is this guy a pro black jack player?
Congrats Phil!!!! Im a recreational player and I loved this content
Thank you!!
seriously who is this guy? jhkjkjkjk
Thank you for a very nice video!
How often are you releasing these videos?
