My dad bought a 70 Impala. It was a tank. We went all over with that car

Did they show a 1970 on here? I saw two commercials for the '69.

My dad had a 1965 Impala ss 396 turbo 400. I used to sit in it and listed to Elvis on a 8 track, complete with a cb radio.

The flow through ventilation system on the 1971 model was a one year only feature.

That 65 was getting pretty beat up on the ocean. Bet it was rusted out in a month.

The boxed frames rotted out in a few years in the snow belt from trapped road salt & moisture.

My favorites on this video, Are the 1967 & 1971 & they will always be in that order & I would love both of those models & the 67 would have to be a 2 door Caprice & the 71 a Impala Sport Coupe.

My '68 Impala custom was my favorite that I owned. Bought it for $300 back in '88. Still would like to have it.

Wonder how they could film that '65 commercial without having that car wash off the sand bar? (Incidentally, the 1971 ventilation system didn't quite work as well as the one shown in that commercial!)

I read about the 1965 Chevrolet commercial with the Impala on the rock in the ocean. Apparently it was secured to the rock somehow with chains. Just how they did that I do not know.

      @dave1956 that's cool!
      I watched these shows.
      Cars that made America.
      Food that made America.
Such great shows to watch and learn how our world got started.
From Henry Ford. The prohibition and how a beer company had to change it's ways just to keep or build a name.
      Very interesting to me

Boy... That '65 commercial, with the poor Impala dumped out on a rock in the ocean....🙄
If I was head of advertising back then, I'd have blown a head gasket when whoever thought that one up, brought it to me.
Who in the hell ever approved that? It's the most God Awful thing I think I've ever seen... Anyone else but me notice that both the right and left rear wheel covers end up missing and then showing back up? I wonder who the poor bastard was that they sent out into that pool of death to put those back on?
And the waves hit it so forcefully, the car looks like it's gonna float up and fall over the edge.
    Wow.😬

Why did you not have a commercial for the 1970 Chevrolet? The video skips from 1969 to 1971.

@@mrpaulvoline1275 I don’t want to hear about your air fresheners. I asked why you skipped from 1969 Chevy to the 1971 Chevy and you didn’t show any commercials for the 1970 Chevy?

I prefer the 1965 and 1968 models over all the others--if for no other reason, but the tail lights! Strange to think that tail lights make the car, but they make a car for me---as much as body style or wheels. That's something Chevrolet never kept consistent--especially with the Impalas---they felt the need to change the style of the tail lights every year! They had a good thing going with the round tail lights--why change them to squares or rectangles? The only thing ever better than the circles was the horseshoes in 1968! I would have at least kept those going!
