      I had just turned eight when the '65 Impala's were released. And my little mind thought they were magnificent. It's interesting that they continue to be. If by some miracle GM were to resume production of those, I think people would line up to buy them.

      As of 2023, the Spark is gone, and no one is sure how much longer the Malibu or Camaro are going to be around. As for the Corvette, it's in another league altogether. No more than two people can fit in a 'Vette (been that way since '53!) and how many of us has an extra $80,000 to burn? Then there's all this talk about GM going all electric by 2035. Not that I want it to happen, but that could become the new reality, whether we like it or not. So we'll have to enjoy what we have left, and the clock is ticking. _(5/30/2023)_

      @@knowbodiesfull5768 So, explain to me how an SUV is different than a mid 60's station wagon? What is it that upsets folks like you about SUV's vs Cars. If you look at the dimensions of a new Trax, Traverse or Blazer, they can do everything this station wagon can do and do it also with 2wd.....It might be taller, but no taller than cars from the 1940's and early 1950'''s. I don't get this nonsense about Chevy "doesn't build cars anymore".........it's all semantics and names. I"m sorry, I just don't get the hating on SUV's??????? Why the hate? BTW, the height of a 1955 Chevy Station Wagon is 60.8 inches, the height of a new Trax is 61 inches.......the width is 74 inches vs 71 inches......the wheel base is, 115 inches vs 109 inches, weight is. I don't get the fact that old station wagons are just as big as new SUV's....and you have to pay extra if you want AWD or 4WD, so you can buy a rear wheel drive Trax or Blazer? Please explain the logic in your hate? Also, what's wrong with Electric? I've owned two Electric cars.......back in the days, when vehicles were first on the road, the Electric Vehicle out performed the Gas powered buggies and were more popular, not until gas powered vehicles improved did electric go away....but now electric can out perform gas powered....so why the hate on electric? I don't get it? I loved my Chevy Volt and Chevy Bolt and btw, I had the extra money laying around and bought a C8 Corvette, and can sell it for way more than I paid for it, it was an investment I can drive.

      you have to realize you're seeing this commercial in a form much better than ever originally intended. This was a commercial from 1964 for the launch of the wagons for 65 on Television. Broadcast over the air waves. What you would have seen on the TV Screen (possibly a 10 year old TV set) wouldn't have been clear or crisp, particularly if it was a Black and White TV. You'd never see that fit and finish issue. I've seen a few old commercials with actual dents in cars, but you only see them due to the HD quality.

    The problem with this commercial; one: It sold America on the fact that if a car was big, it meant they should go go go. This is why America is the leading cause of pollution and refuses to acknowledge the problems it has created. Two: It sold the idea that the bigger a vehicle was, the better it was to have it. Thats why Americans, unlike the rest of the world, are not happy unless they have a oversized everything. The same is true with food, drinks homes etc., Americans think if it's not oversized, they don't want it because they somehow are being cheated. Three: The commercialism itself is rooted in every American, and they are addicted to both buy and consume things. Its why the competitiveness to make as much money as possible, and character and morals are not weighed as social status, what you own is.....

    • @OsbornTramain
      @OsbornTramain  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The comment was to be blocked for "blocked words" but I'm letting it stand to show other people how a Bigot thinks. You are so incredibly wrong on every single point you mentioned? I don't understand how you could be so uneducated and have your facts so wrong. First, you're insulting an entire nation, speaking to people in the USA about their "Food, Drinks and Homes" being big. Making grand assumptions about all Americans that is simply wrong....that's called being a Bigot. The USA isn't even in the top ten list of fattest people in the world. Mexico actually has a population heavier than the USA. The size of a vehicle doesn't determine how much it pollutes. It's utter rubbish you are spewing. The USA has done more to reduce carbon emissions than any other country. We introduced the clean air act in 1967 and have done more than any other country in the world to create new ways to use fuels more efficiently and cleaner. The USA isn't even close to being the biggest user of fuel or polluting, that distinction belongs to China, Russia and India. The countries that aren't even part of the UN accords. Why attack the country that's done the most and best job of being fuel efficient and pollution free? Attack the Russians, the Chinese and frankly get your facts straight. Why is the USA always the whipping boy? Because we allow it, you can't complain to Russia or China, they'd do nothing.
