Just stupid this guy is 😂😂😂😂 2nd gen rusts cuz 9/10 they got 400,000 on them and they are still running like tops and if u get the standard transmission you’ll be more bullet proofed than any new truck 😂😂😂 nice video guys 😆 guy needs to do some research on Chevy problems lol

I usually completely agree with you videos but how about vehicles like the Aztec or the envoy xl, how about any F-150 with cam phasers, Durango gen 1, 95-04 tacos, gen 1 Escalades,

@@nichollisschmidt7932 Cummins do run forever but as someone who’s family sells both Chevy and dodge it is proven time and time again if you maintain 2 truck exactly the same and put around the same miles every year the Chevy will structurally stay together longer dodges tend to rot in places that are integral to truck. Both Awsome a dodge will out tow a Chevy and out plow a Chevy but when it comes to abuse nothing can kill a gas or diesel Chevy if left stock.

I'm tired of the unnecessary hate on the honda ridgeline look I know it's not a body on frame vehicle with 4wd and with a big v8 or whatever but it wasn't designed to be that it was designed for someone that wanted truck like practicality but the comfort and drivability of a car and the ridgeline is best at that.

@@ericksanchez7787 ok yes they are comfortable and reliable but so are mini vans. They are the minivans of trucks. You don’t modify a mini van. And your right it’s like a car. It’s like they took the crv and buffed it up a bit and put a bed on it. The only good thing it had was they had a built in cooler in the bed which was cool

I'm with ya, we've had the same 6.0 in our family since new. Was my grandpas, then mine, now its my brothers. 160k miles and the only issues have been 3 injectors, egr cooler that was fixed when deleted and a FICM. Other than that its been an extremely reliable truck. I would 100% say the 6.4 is worse. They have the same issues but end up significantly worse as its a much more complex motor.

I was kind of dumb and just eager to own my own truck, so I found exactly the style I was looking for on craigslist, a white 1986 (7th gen bullnose) F250 Lariat SuperCab with a long bed for 11k. It's super clean inside and out, RWD and has the 7.3 IDI, which I didn't really mind. I drove it perfectly fine for about a week, before I learned the previous owner must've driven it without oil for extended periods of time. The whole block was warped and when the pump blew I had to rip the whole engine out and put a new one in with a Banks turbo for 5k. It really put a dent in my savings, but I'm starting to recover. When I have the extra money down the road I want to put running boards, a 3" body lift (I think they work well on OBS') and black AM Baja's (16x10 -25) wrapped in 235/85 Falken Wildpeaks.

Don't forget the second gen 24valve cummins also had a line of bad blocks manufactured in Brazil that would break do to the engine heat over time. The tall tale sign of this is the exhaust manifold would crack and then a few months later a large crack in the block would form. Me and my uncle had to fully build an engine for it because that happened and cummins even said the Brazilian blocks are junk. Then four years ago we swapped the original 5-speed out for an aftermarket 6-speed which this past year we blew out hauling a boat since the transmission was as basic as can be but the engine was bulked up.

    I owned a 98 150 with a 4.6 and currently own a 05 150 with a 5.4.
The 4.6 gave me no problems, Sold it at 230,000 miles.
The 5.4 I think it's starting the tick and it's a Ford reman.
Melling came out with an upgraded oil pump 2 years ago to fix the 5.4's problems. Ibwill see how this goes lol

I’m sorry but I got to defend a 10th gen here. Yes they may spit out plugs, but there’s a kit called cal van that is an amazing kit to get. It’s all cut and dry on how to use it. I’ve had one spit out on me and I bought this kit and decided to do all 8 right away and now I just fixed the problem permanently for 200$. Other than that these truck will go on for a long long time and are super reliable. Mines never left me stranded, no matter what happened it’s always made it home. That’s because the only thing that’s happened was a spark plug got ejected LOL

Ford triton spark plug problems is mainly with the first generation of triton heads, there wasn’t enough threads in the heads to keep spark plugs in the head, they’d seize and out goes the plug, later trucks can have spark plugs stick, but if you stick a bit of copper anti seize on the threads you are good

Wish this video came out may 2019. I bought a 06 6.0 f350 with 309k. Only 312k on it now and I’ve replaced egr valve, 8 injectors, oil cooler, egr cooler, head gaskets and head studs. Running good now tho...

I have a 2nd gen cummins that my great grandpa bought new, after he passed away my grandpa had it for some time and I finally bought it from him and the truck is in great condition. No engine or transmission problems ever and it only has 135,000 miles on the truck. I’m keeping this truck in my family till I die 😂

Cold take on the 2nd gen… considering I own a 98 12 valve I may be biased but they’re great trucks overall

My family has owned 3 10th/11th gen fords. One came from the rust belt and had surface rust on the frame but nothing structural and almost none on the body. It had a 4.6 and ran insanely great at 200k miles. The other two were 5.4 but different models of 5.4. One was the older 5.4 which we did have spark plug issues with. The newer 5.4 hasn't given us any problems. They are great trucks. With that being said, they can be a gamble for the reasons stated in the video.
