  • Finally got the new gears and posi installed. Love the difference. Helped with my 1/4 mile and getting off the line. Went with the Eaton Detroit TrueTrac, ARP extended Camaro wheel studs, Moser Axles, Quick Performance install kit. The Price of this stuff ADDS UP! You definitely don't have to do all that I did. I had my rear diff for over a year before I out it in...... That goes to show how long it took to get these parts in my current situation. Just stuck to the plan. Pay in 4 and pay over time apps is my best friend.
    ARP Studs - ARP-100-7737
    True Trac - 913A481
    Quick Performance install - GM85MBK

    @RCSAutoworld- Love that "YEAH BUDDY, LIGHT WEIGHT" saying by Ron Coleman. Its so sad to see that he cant walk, without alot of help now, because of all his back operations, and him not recovering fully from the operations, before he started lifting heavy again 😢.

    Thats feaking awesome. Im lookiing into swapping from 3.42 to 4.10 gears with Posi as well on my 2010 4.8 Chevy. I have 32's on the truck. Can't wait!

      You will definitely tell a difference. I have a suburban that has 33s. Going 4.10 will make it take off and drive a lot better.

    Commented in the wrong place so I moved it here.
    Thanks man. Have a 4.8 07 Classic 6 lug 10 bolt with 3.23 and watching everything I can to see whats doable. Not aiming for a race truck just a little more torque and no one wheel slip. End goal is a slightly lifted 2x4 camper to get me to camp. That 3.90 surprised me. I figured 342 would be fine and 370 would be too much. Naw, the 3.90 it is!
    and an edit. .
    Decided 3.73 because those are very common. When I get the parts Im guessing it has to be a carrier for a 3.73 to fit my axle?

      If you wanted you could install the 3.73s on the stock differential. Unless you want to get a posi unit.

    What size tires are you using with the 3.90 ratio

    • @RCSmith90
      @RCSmith90  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      28 inch tall tire. 275/60/15
      This video explains how to calculate what RPM you will be at with all tire sizes. And how much faster these gears made me.

    How much did all these work cost ?

    • @RCSmith90
      @RCSmith90  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did this slow over time. I had the parts for this stuff for over a year before I paid for labor. The True Trac rear diff was around $450.00 and that was the most expensive thing. Then the installation kit was $100 bucks.ring and gear was was $150.00. That was it as far as parts. The new axles and studs are optional. If yours aren’t broken you can absolutely use them.
      The Trutrac I got on a payment plan. The other stuff was here and there. Finally I paid a guy to install it. That can range from $300 up.

    How do you like your rear diff cover? I saw some from B&M for 260 but pretty steep for cigar tray.

    • @RCSmith90
      @RCSmith90  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It works great! Plus it’s super convenient to be able to drain and fill your rear differential without having to pull the cover every time. I haven’t used the support studs that’s built into it yet.

      28 inches. 275/60/15. Widest you can go with factory suspension.
