I moved to Ohio a little over a year ago, and i LOVE shopping at the Amish/Mennonite markets. Great homemade foods. Its one of my new joys. Came from Arizona and there is nothing like it there.
I really enjoyed this video! I grew up in Ohio, and we visited “Amish country” many times. We loved to visit Heini’s Cheese Chalet, Guggisberg Cheese, different bakeries...you name it. We’ve been to the huge antique mall, and used to sell handmade goods at Sol’s Palace. So many memories! It made me a little emotional. I live in Texas now, and haven’t been there in many years. Also, my husband grew up in Pennsylvania, and attended a Mennonite school. So these types of things are nostalgic for both of us ☺️
Oh my, your grandparents home and surroundings took my breath away. And the garden tour of Nick's parent's place was so beautiful. It was an absolute delight to see your family and some of Ohio's Amish country.
The tour of your mom in law's flower gardens was the highlight for me by far!!!! I love flower gardens and play around with mine but mine are nothing next to hers! Thanks for sharing her gardens, they are gorgeous!
Dianna McBride he had to have another surgery this week 😥 for the third time on the same knee. This time I think they’re putting it in a complete cast. It’s feels a bit like starting over! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@LynetteYoder Lynette, I am so sorry to hear this. Bless his heart. I can understand why it would feel like starting over. I'm so glad that your parents are there to help. And you are also in my prayers. I have lived a large portion of our married years away from "home". With you just coming back from Holmes County I know it is hard for you. You are such a blessing to me. Sending 💙 and 🙏.
Beautiful video of Ohio and your family members Lynette. Thanks for Sharing! Oaklynn is cooing alot! She Loves her mama, Daddy and brothers....Please get some rest. The fresh country air and flowers are good for your health!💝
This video was so heart warming. We are an American family living in Hong Kong, with two older boys and an 8 month little girl. Seeing this video made me homesick for good wholesome country living (we used to live in Texas). Thank you for sharing your part of the world with us! ❤️
What a delight. I am endlessly fascinated by this community and traditions. The knowledge of planting, workmanship and numerous talents I admire. The language is another thing I marvel at. Keep doing what you do.💗🎯
Back in the 90s and early 2000s I went several times to "Amish Country"there in Ohio. SUGARCREEK, BERLIN, BULK STORES,LEHMENS, DER DUTCHMAN. THE QUILTS,THE HAMMERED ALUMINIUM, FOOD, FURNITURE, RHUBARB!!!!!!, Beautiful country!!!! Love this!!!!Will watch again and again....because of my memories with my mom and stepdad who are in Heaven now.👵💖🦋
I loved when your daughter giggled with her brothers ❤ The scenery is gorgeous and so pretty ❤ I love traveling to new places. Your family has touched my heart ❤
Your mother-in-law's garden made me go 'wow'! It's stunning! That pink hydrangea - beautiful! Love the floral border with the alternating colours running around the whole garden. She must pour a lot of love into the garden :) Wow Nic resembles his father so much! (Assuming it's his father at 20:44?) All the houses shown are amazing! I really appreciate the filming and editing you put into this video, Lynn! Really makes me want to visit this area! Greetings from across the pond in England! -Emily
Your daughter Oaklynn is adorable. Nothing better than a child's laughter. Just warms the soul..I love going to Amish country. Beautiful area. I live in NE Ohio and don't make it there near enough. I don't like the touristy locations so much, but like to go off the beaten path so to speak. I plan on going to the Mount Hope produce auctions this year to get my produce to can up....Thank you for taking us with you...
Such a beautiful area. I’m so eager to learn about different lifestyles. Your parents and in-laws homes are fantastic, so well manicured. Haven’t been to Holmes county but lived in Virginia that has an Amish community. The turkey sandwiches were amazing that they made.
Fellow NE Ohioan here!! I love Sugarcreek! The Little Switzerland of Ohio!! We used to love to eat at Beachy’s before they closed. And the giant Cuckoo Clock! I remember when it used to be in a restaurant.
What a georgous vacation that was,I felt like I was there. I'd love to go there. Thank you for being who you are, your family is just like everyone else's just different in certain ways. It's great that your opening your life to us. I'm from Montana we have mennonite families there
Hello Lynette. Living in Australia, we don't see or have any Amish Living here. They seem to be very Humble & Dignified people. Having grow up in an Urban & Rural Environment, i can easily relate to How the Amish live. I loved how you showed the Viewers so much of the Community in this short Video. As it is Beautiful Countryside throughout Holmes County. so a Big thank you for sharing this vlog. cheers Steve.
Hi Lynette! What a beautiful family! I just enjoy seeing so much love and togetherness you and you’re husband and your family’s. We need to see more of that in today times. Your Husband all you’re family’s homes are stunning and beautiful! Thank you so much to share with us all. Looking forward to see more of you’re channel. Take care God bless you and your family🙏🏿
I loved my trip to Ohio! Started out in Columbus, where my daughter lives, and then went to Holmes county. Sugarcreek was fantastic! So pretty! We also found my favorite stop, Zinck's fabric! Went a little crazy there because I am a quilter and they had so much fabric at very reasonable prices! Loved the cheese stores and you could spend days there and still not see everything or eat at the same place twice. I can't wait to return and plan to as soon as this virus thing is over! Highly recommend!!!
Love the baby giggles. 😍 Beautiful country, love love love the flowers, trees, and all the greenery!! I live in the desert, nothing but dust. 🙄 loved tagging along!!
It’s so beautiful there and it looks so peaceful. My yearns yo live in a peace place, no violence, no hate, no materialistic things, just love , family and communion with God .
@lynetteyoder Thx!!! So much for sharing all of this! I sooo luv all of the things u were showing.. Walnut Creek looked amazing! Ur Grandmas's house.. just luv it all! Sooo glad I found ur channel!! I am orig from MI and miss all of the little Amish stores.. i have been in CO for about 21 yrs now.. i don't think they have any stores out here..😪😪 i could always ask my Aunt to go to one for. I guess lol..and i watched ur testimony soooo touching! God Bless u hon and ur family! I will b watching and catching up on all ur videos!😘😘😘😘😘
East Main in Baltic is, by far the BEST restaurant. Awhile back, it was totally gutted and remodeled. You drove by Kaufman’s bakery. They have the best cream sticks in the universe. Ashery country store is awesome too. Love, love the Holmes county area.
I right now am in the process of reading a book whose main characters are Amish and the book is set in Holmes County! What a coincidence. I have actually read many fiction books that have Amish people as the main characters. I gravitate to those books because they may have some mystery and even a bit of romance but they are squeaky clean. This is actually a set of 15 books under one cover and one of the books entitled, Becoming Grace is about a girl who has Troyer syndrome, a genetic disease which may not be limited to Holmes County but according to the book most cases of Troyer's are found there. I looked it up and Troyer's is really a thing but I had never heard of it before I read this book. I had my 73rd birthday on June 25th and I am just now hearing of this disease for the first time. Guess you're never too old to learn. (Or too old to read books with a bit of romance in them.)
Can you tell me the name of the book you're reading. Once in a while, I will something else, but I mainly read Amish fiction for the same reason you do. I really enjoy reading about their culture. Thank you.
Maryann Anderson hi, I’m Lyn’s mom, I just happened to see your comment about the books you’re reading and Troyer’s syndrome...interestingly enough, that’s the syndrome that runs in my Dad’s family...I have a cousin that has it, and my dad had at least 4 cousins out of one family that had it...😏 I haven’t heard of that series though...it would be interesting to check it out. I’ve read some of those Amish novels in the past and generally I get a kick out of authors trying to write about the Amish when they really don’t understand the culture..😆 there’s usually a lot of things that amuse me that really wouldn’t happen in real life, but oh well, it’s fiction, right?! 🤷🏻♀️😊
Hi Lynette, its a beautiful video.. thank you for sharing, we want to visit sugarcreek for our 10th anniversary, please can u list down some places to stay and visit..Thank you :)
Mrs Yoder’s Kitchen and The Amish Door are two of our favorite places to eat. We also make it a point to be at Hershberger’s Farm & Bakery when they open in the morning.
I LOVE eating at the Amish Door!!! My Sister and I took a trip there. She had never been there before. I told her we can go anywhere she wants and see anything she wants but we have to go to the Amish Door for their roast beef!!!! That is when I tried the graham cracker pudding!! It was SO good. I can't wait to go back and get some more!!! She should have went to Lehmans and seen the wood carving pictures.
It's been several years since I've been to Ohio. Visited friends in Cleveland twice and they took us to a giant flea market up in northeast Ohio and to Berlin. Walked through town to all the gift shops and then out to an Amish living museum where we took a buggy ride. The countryside is beautiful around your grandmother's home. My husband's niece married a Yoder down near Versailles, MO. Lehman's Restaurant is really good too in Versailles - I love their open faced roast beef sandwiches with mashed potatoes and gravy. Yum!
@@LynetteYoder Thanks for the recommendation of East Main Kitchen. My husband and I are always looking for new places to eat. The food was delicious and the dessert was REALLY super.
My husband has had a horrible day. I was watching this vlog and he heard Your sweet baby girl giggling and immediately said that’s exactly what I needed to hear a sweet little happy! We are empty nesters without grand babies yet and sometimes you forget how magical a baby laughing can be. Thank You
I live outside of Columbus, in Pickerington. My best friend and I had a girls weekend last fall in Sugar Creek and had an amazing time. As we were driving on Rt 77, we came across Humble and did a quick turn around to shop there. It was the best decision we made. I love that area!!! Thanks for sharing your visit with us. ☺️
Lynette, your parents home is absolutely stunning. Their flowers are gorgeous. What a blessing to have both your grandparents and to share in such beautiful memories. Thank you for sharing❤️💜
Wow, Amish country is beautiful!! And your MIL's flowers......so pretty. I wish I had a green thumb. I try...but my flowers never look as good as hers! She must spend a fortune on miracle grow. lol. Have a great day!
Some years ago we were driving through middle Georgia and stumbled across a Mennonite restaurant. Who knew! The food was to die for. We keep, saying we need to go back, and we will-but not in summer. Ha ha. This video makes me want to visit Ohio. So beautiful and peaceful.
Lynette I've finally figured out who your husband looks like and it wasn't until I paused your video at the 0:54 mark that it hit me. Your husband looks like country artist Luke Bryan!!! It's been killing me for soooo long and now I can finally stop spending so much of your videos trying to figure it out and focus on the content. Now I can sleep at night. hahaha just kidding. God has blessed you with a beautiful Godly family.
Thank you so much for sharing. I left Holmes Country in July of 2011. I now live in the desert in New Mexico so everything is so very different. It is brown here so really enjoyed seeing the green trees and country side. Beautiful country. Thanks again. Lovely family. Blessings to all.
Your children look so adorable in their finery! Loved hearing Oaklynn laughing! Those flowers! Your grandparents and in-laws both have such beautiful places! What a blessing!
Aww, this was so fun to watch! These are my stomping grounds. 😍 Wish I would've gotten to meet you when you were here. Two of the girls on the buggy are our landlords daughters, lol.😅
Ohhh, Lynette, I absolutely loved every bit of this video. I have always loved Amish country so this was perfect. Thank you for taking us along and sharing your families beautiful homesteads. God bless. ❤️
I so much enjoy seeing anything and everything Amish... Most of my eBooks are Amish stories which may or may not be factual but still I prefer reading about "plain life" over Englischer living.
It's mine too. I have problems with my back and consequently have chronic pain. The pain psychologist I saw suggested reading only relaxing books (I love to read) before bedtime & that wasn't hard to do. The Amish books are so enjoyable, full of family values, good Christians that have a strong commitment to their faith & their family & a phenomenal work ethic. I thoroughly enjoy this genre.
I love that fabric shop. I also love going into The Gospel Shop! 💕 Do you remember the train that used to run through Sugar Creek... The Ohio Central? I finally went to the Wallhouse Coffee Shop. ☕️ So much fun!
Love this video. I buy those dish cloths all the time at our local mennonite store in East Tennessee, Mountain View Country Store, and also Yoder’s Country Market in Bulls Gap, Tn.
We live in Arizona, and are retiring soon! I’d to love to take a driving trip to the Amish country. The countryside is breathtaking!! The people are lovely and blessed!! What a beautiful way of life!! So in awe of your Amish and Mennonite traditions and Godly values!! Oak Lynn is a real sweetheart!!! Love your boys, too!!
We love Sugar Creek, Walnut Creek, and Berlin. The Amish built our new home. We have several Mennonite Bulk Food Stores in my area. We really appreciate our Amish/Mennonite friends.
Hi Lynette! Thanks for taking us along. I luv the Amish/Mennonite community. Luv their faith n simple way of life. Your Grandmother's house n your In-laws are just beautiful. The gardens are breath taking. I would love to be able to visit. Our church was planning a Trip to Amish, PA in June. I had paid for everything. But, unfortunately, due to COVID we had to cancel the trip. Very disappointing for us all. So I live through this your you have us. Thanks so much. By the way, Oaklynn is just beautiful. I enjoyed seeing her laugh very much.
Loved watching your testimony! You said it wasn't dramatic.? Going from death to life is very dramatic i would say! God bless you! You and hubby are adorable! And your little baby and sons!
Your aunt's flowers are amazing. I understand how you feel about your grandpa. My dad has Lewy Body dementia and Parkinson's also. You are so right when you say you are watching them leave you. It is hard to see but knowing that someday we will all be together in heaven makes it so much easier. I will pray for your grandma and grandpa and for you and your family. We are also in Florida only about 2 hours north of you. I hope you had a safe trip home and there wasn't much damage from the hurricane that we just had.
I live in Plain City, OH. 2 hours from Holmes county area so we have been there quiet a few times! Always a good time! I saw my husbands cousin in one of ur moms pics. Cindi Troyer (Dennis)....small world! She was a Hostetler and I married into the Hostetler clan!😊
I LOVE this video!! I've always been interested the Amish / Mennonite culture My favorite scene was your grandparents porch. It's so beautiful, yet serene! I bet they've seen a lot of sunrises & sunsets from there. I enjoyed seeing the stores you Sent to. I hope to go to Holmes County sometime. You showed a lot of what I'm interested in. Thanks for taking us along with you!
I was born and grew up in Ohio also. There is a good-sized Mennonite and Amish community in and around Richland County. All of my family has been in Texas for a while now, except my Dad, who still lives up there. We go visit every fall just in time to catch the apple harvest. Ohio apples are sooo much better than the Washington apples they send down to TX. We visit the auction barns and come back with the pickup truck full of goodies. Hoping to be able to go this year.
I grew up in Crawford county Pennsylvania, right outside of Atlantic. Thank you for the lovely footage of Ohio. I'm always glad to see a grandmother's garden.
I just stumbled upon your you tube videos and I am in heaven....We live in CO but have visited the Holmes County area every fall since 2008, only missing last year. I loved seeing your views and listening to your dialog. I am the driver so I know I miss many sites when keeping my eyes on the road. I am a quilter and have visited many of the quilt shops, plus we love to just browse at all the shops and eat way too much in the restaurants...Keep on sharing your life with us, you have made me a happy lady during this time of 'stay at home', plus recovering from a shoulder surgery....thanks and God Bless.
Wow! what a fun trip!! I haven't been off of our farm since Mar. 4th. This video was like taking a vacation with you!! Thanks ever so much, it gave me a boost!! Sure is beautiful country! The flowers and gardens were awesome!!
I had no idea what Ohio was like but wow it is beautiful. So much green and both your parents and grandparents did an amazing job on their properties. Looks like a relaxing place.
Your grandparents home is absolutely gorgeous & your mother-in-law's flowers are so beautiful. I could live amongst all those lovely flowers. The whole country so breath-taking.
Oh my goodness! I could have watched this for hours. Such beautiful land and the flowers - I am going to put myself in timeout for having such a poor green thumb! Your immediate and extended families are so lovely!!! Oaklynn has the greatest laugh, so adorable! Many hugs to all and may God continue to bless ya'll!
It is so beautiful and peaceful in Ohio's Amish country. Thank You for sharing your family houses and different places where you have memories with your family.
I love seeing all the adoreabe country stores. Amish country is beautiful. I can't wait to take.a.trip out there! That will be on my bucket list. You and your husband are sooooo lucky to have grown up in such a gorgeous place!
I so much love your grandparents house. I'd never get anything done I'd be sitting just looking at the view & those beautiful flowers. I looked up Kaufmans & I'm in trouble. So many beautiful things & just my style. Hope you had a wonderful time. Awesome family...
Beautiful country !! So enjoyed The homes and properties are so well kept. Flowers just gorgeous. The boys are having a ball. And the baby girl is such a happy child. You are truly blessed.
Thanks for sharing Holmes country with us (and your family ) our son and daughter in law live in millersburg, I cannot get enough of touring Holmes county and seeing the Amish culture! I grew up Mennonite and it’s a different culture .
Thank you so much for taking us back home with you! Your grandparent’s home and land is is so picturesque! Your grandmother must spend hours on her beautiful flowers. Such a great trip for the children especially catching fish! Your sweet daughter was so enthralled with the doll! I befriended an Amish Family in New Holland, Lancaster and actually stayed overnight in the Beiler’s home. Christ drove out to my home to visit at the Jersey Shore with a couple Mennonite men to go tuna fishing. So many years spent with a wonderful family and learning the ways of a different lifestyle!
As a Swiss person the part in Sugarcreek was interesting, since it really resembled some towns in Switzerland and the flag of "Bern" is also showing at 4:41. I never knew much about the connection of Switzerland and Amish People but I will definitely look into it know. Thank you for showing us around.
I love Ohio. We visited years ago in the fall. It is beautiful! Our son was small and loved planes. We visited the Air Force museum(my husband served and my son is serving now!), the space museum and castle Mac a cheek (our last name is Cheek). The Amish restaurant we went to was wonderful! Then we visited a farm with bakery. Everything was unbelievable. I would love to visit again.
It is so beautiful there! There are a lot of Amish and Mennonite around where I live in western Pa. But they are a lot stricter in Thst they can and can not do! No cats but can hsve tractors for the farm work. Love the country! Not a city person! Kind of live in town now but our little sea is not really a town, but we are close to my son’s school, and my mom’s home. But there are plenty of places close by to go to.
Your grandparents house is so beautiful and picturesque I’d love to just sit on the porch and watch the views
rachael blakeley same
rachael blakeley me too... I would love it!
Me to.
I live in Ohio and absolutely love visiting Holmes county and all of the shops. Such wonderful, friendly people and the best food EVER.

I wonder this too! Sure, Florida is sunny but I would have so much trouble leaving family/home area.

There’s a Mennonite store up from my house in Ky and they have the best cheese and jams and jellies. So good.

Yum!
We never go through Walnut Creek without stopping to eat at Rebecca’s Bistro! Fabulous food and quaint atmosphere.
I love that place! I should have remembered to mention it!
We love Rebecca Bistro too!
Thank You
What a beautiful area. It’s all so clean and tidy, not like my area in Massachusetts that has some very run downed and littered areas.
I went to high school in Pickerington
So beautiful thanks for showing us.
Lynette, your parents home is absolutely stunning. Their flowers are gorgeous. What a blessing to have both your grandparents and to share in such beautiful memories. Thank you for sharing❤️💜
It’s beautiful country there and I would love to shop in all those stores .
Wow, Amish country is beautiful!! And your MIL's flowers......so pretty. I wish I had a green thumb. I try...but my flowers never look as good as hers! She must spend a fortune on miracle grow. lol. Have a great day!
Really enjoyed seeing and hearing all about your home
Beautiful area May bel can visit someday
😄 he has heard it before. We can kind of see it from the side from a distance. When he’s Wearing a Bill cap. 😁
Thank you so much for sharing. I left Holmes Country in July of 2011. I now live in the desert in New Mexico so everything is so very different. It is brown here so really enjoyed seeing the green trees and country side. Beautiful country. Thanks again. Lovely family. Blessings to all.
Loved seeing the beautiful flowers at your grandparents home & your mother in law’s home. Gorgeous!
You are absolutely right..whether factual or not, this is my favorite book genre and just about exclusively what I read for enjoyment.
Haha!!! Me too! I just did a little Yoder's shopping haul not long ago on my channel! How fun that you are in the area!
I feel like I have been on a holiday after watching this, what beautiful scenery. Your mother-in-law's garden is a labor of love!! Just gorgeous.
what a lovely video Lynette
We live in Arizona, and are retiring soon! I’d to love to take a driving trip to the Amish country. The countryside is breathtaking!! The people are lovely and blessed!! What a beautiful way of life!! So in awe of your Amish and Mennonite traditions and Godly values!! Oak Lynn is a real sweetheart!!! Love your boys, too!!
Oh my goodness! Your mother in law's flowers are so beautiful. The whole lawn is beautiful. Love this video. Thank you for sharing.
Dennis is my uncle! Dad's brother!
No way!! Crazy!
Your husband's mother really has a knack with flowers. I loved the "potting shed". It looks like it was put there just for decoration. ha ha.
Wow! what a fun trip!!
We have already started planning a trip for next fall. Even my husband is excited.
I love antiques and old time furniture. Your cultural upbringing intrigues me. I'm a born again Christian, its wonderful knowing you are too.
You’ve made me hungry! Headed there this weekend. Thanks for the recommendations for lunch.
Sugarcreek, Walnut Creek, Berlin, Wilmot, Millersburg...my favorite destinations! Thank you for sharing your family home!
Oh my gosh... I love Sugarcreek!!! I couldn't stop smiling
Ohhhhh I love love love the whole video!! Such a beautiful place! Thank you so much for sharing!! Stay safe going back to Florida!
So enjoyed
The homes and properties are so well kept. Flowers just gorgeous. The boys are having a ball. And the baby girl is such a happy child. You are truly blessed.
Oh that was just fantastic...on my bucket list....what beautiful gardens ....it was just lovely Lynette, thank you for sharing
Thanks for sharing Holmes country with us (and your family ) our son and daughter in law live in millersburg, I cannot get enough of touring Holmes county and seeing the Amish culture! I grew up Mennonite and it’s a different culture .
Thank you so much for the tour it was amazing Totally enjoyed the 💐 flowers Looks like you need to go ready to eat a lot 😋 Thank you again Lynette
PS what utterly stunning gardens!!! And it seems like almost every house has that front porch that I've dreamt of my whole life
It is so beautiful there!
