The BROASTED chicken at the Farmstead restaurant is the finest in the world! Rhubarb pie is out of this world. Side dishes excellent. My favorite restaurant ever.
My daughter and I love Holmes County. We usually go in June. Our granddaughter will be with us this year. We so appreciate the quite time shopping 🛍 and of course the wonderful food. Top of the list are the Amish. So friendly and willing to help. Beautiful people.
Great video, in fact much more informative than some of the other videos I have viewed----my wife and I will be making this trip after Labor Day, hopefully, Covid will be behind us all by then----thanks for sharing
We were in Ohio Amish country must have been 28 years ago and it wasn't as commerciai but there was a railroad that offered train rides and there was an Ostrich farm that you could tour. Things have really changed but we will be going back again this year.
Still a beautiful area, great folks good food and nice things to do. We are booked at the Wallhouse for the end of May. Best place to vacation for a stress-free few days
Grew up going to Amish country regularly as a child. I've been living in the south for many years now but make it a point to visit there with my family when going home to Ohio
Hey guys ,thanks for sharing , perfect video. I am Irish and travelling to Ohio from Ireland ,we are heading to Lehman's and wondered what else we could do .. now we know ,Berlin !! loved Lancaster PA on our last visit . Will defo look up the Amish heritage centre ,stay safe and thank you

Wonderful vid..I'm off to there on Thursday after a 2 1/2 year border closure 🇨🇦🇺🇸..I can hardly wait, watching this vid brought back so many wonderful memories ❤ of visiting this area for over 35 years. I always stay at the berlin grande, it's my favorite .Thx marie from 🇨🇦
@@nathanshiannetinsley5723 yes I'm lucky 2 only be 4 1/2hr away, we usually visit 2 or 3 times a year...next time your are there you must visit Behalt. It's amazingly beautiful and spiritual, I cried. Also, venture out to Hartville if you haven't been there, amazing market, flea market, food and hardware store out of this world..about 30 minutes from Canton..ps your little guy is too sweet🥰
I absolutely love Holmes County. My dear friend used to live in Mount Vernon, Ohio and we would drive to Berlin and some of the surrounding towns to shop the thrift stores. I’ve found some awesome bargains in Berlin, Millersburg and Sugarcreek just to mention a few.
I enjoyed it very much! Lynn and I went 4 years ago and I want to go back. We had such a good time while we were there. We were there in November 2016 and the shops were getting ready for a Christmas tour. I bought a lot of nice things and some Christmas gifts too. We went into some of the same places that you showed. I highly recommend it. We actually stayed in a Bread and Breakfast in Berlin. Very nice! Thanks for sharing!! Love you guys!
Aww love y’all too! Yes, it’s just as special as you describe! We really enjoy going there and it is a perfect stop for us headed to Jared’s or back from there!
Very informative video. Thanks so much! My wife and I plan to spend a week touring all those beautiful little towns. What hotels did you stay in during your visit? Thanks!
Thankyou, we love the area! Berlin is a central location and I would suggest staying in a Hotel in Berlin or at the least, in one of the local towns to Berlin.
@@nathanshiannetinsley5723 That's why I was curious as to where y'all stayed. Recommendations from personal experience ($$$$, convenience and staff) make the hotel decision a little easier. Thanks again for the response. Stay safe!
We just got back from Holmes County. We loved the Carlisle Inn in Walnut Creek. Beautiful views. Beautiful hotel. Great location. A highlight of our trip.
Nice video, but they could have done a better job at identifying some of the places they were showing you. I live in the area so l know these places. I recommend going online to search for places to stay, eat and shop after watching this video for more details.
There's a bit of Amish around here in northwest Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan. Heard they make great Woodworking and a family member of some sorts gets foods. I like electricity though.
Why on earth would you promote tourism onto the Amish? Berlin town looks like "Invasion of the Outsiders". And any Amish who sell products to promote tourism should be ashamed of themselves. I guess the devil's love of mammon has invaded them, too. smh.
Lol well we relate to them even though we don’t live exactly like them.. the atmosphere of the areas the Amish live in are always more wholesome and God honoring.. the Amish make a lot of wonderful handcrafted items and many enjoy buying these “made to last” items.. in fact you’d be shocked at how much the Amish build that is sold in the Main stream of our society.. and wouldn’t it be wonderful if more Christians lived in such a way that “outsiders” wanted to come in and see what it’s all about? Everyone needs to make a living, besides that many of the shops are probably owned by the Mennonites, not the Amish.
@@nathanshiannetinsley5723 I didn't say they shouldn't be able to make a living. I was talking about the things they do to "promote" tourism or entice outsiders. There's a difference between having a store, and putting up billboard size signs or putting in a petting zoo to DRAW people in. I must confess that I'm ultra-conservative and was very close to a German Baptist group before moving away from WA out of necessity. And the way the world has gone completely insane lately had me looking at buying a house in the Berlin/Millersburg area to be close to like-minded people again. So I was very dismayed at seeing the area being an even worse rat race than the big city where I live now.
I think I’m beginning to understand you. Maybe you just wish to find a special/private/wholesome place yourself and the video seemed to paint a far different picture than your ideal? Well please forgive the video if that seems to be the case, quite the contrary is the reality of being there (in my opinion)! I wish you all God’s Speed in finding a better place for you.. I have similar thoughts, I think many feel uprooted, unhappy and void with the current climate but remember your faith, and know no matter what happens down here, we aren’t home yet!

What is the name of the cheese sampling place you didn't get in? The one in minute 11:44.
