Later on, I figured out that, after I stopped at a junction, the bike went OK because the float chamber(s) had time to fill up. The floats were not in great condition and one was actually heavier than the other so a set of new floats is on order.
@@bobbypresley3555 The bike is under repair due to storm damage at the moment but once repaired and serviced I'll be doing a few more videos under different conditions.
First thing I did 25 years ago was to strip the RT fairing off and sell it on. Fitted some RS bars and was much happier for it. Bye the way- I think your mike setup is working great.
It originally had Keihan stainless silencers but one of them was a bit dodgy so I bought a pair of cheap chrome silencers off eBay for £12 as a temporary measure till I sourced a replacement for the bad Keihan. Those cheapos sounded so good that I left them on. I also bought my R80/7 before I passed my 'Big Bike' test. I also have a 2002 Fazer 600 and a BSA Bantam.
@@MrNicktheBeat don't blame you it sounds great ,I'm having trouble getting a side stand moto bins do them but they're not cheap us you have to buy a foot peg as the exchange item seems mad cus I only need the stand
@@shingerz The stock side stand fits between the front engine mount and the frame so doesn't need a foot peg. Motorworks have them at £60(used. ) Motobins and James Sherlock also sell used parts. The Surefoot stand however is expensive and is an exchange item as it's part of the foot peg/Gear change assembly. I fitted the Surefoot and removed the stock stand. I also fitted a microswitch and flashing LED to the Surefoot so that the LED flashes on the dash when the stand is deployed and the ignition is on. You will also notice that I got rid of the under tank master cylinder and fitted a later handlebar master cylinder so, combined with braided hoses and cast iron disks, I actually have brakes that work well.
@@MrNicktheBeat hi yes I know what you mean there this bike has had a surefoot stand fitted with the peg incorporated into the gear lever but someone has taken the stand off it such a pain really
Hi. Thanks for your comments. I use a GoPro Hero 3 and a 'Z One Pro' Gimbal mounted on a chest rig. I can fix the remote mic in any position although I'm still working on finding the best place to get good sound quality. I'm currently replacing the RT fairing with a lighter Bikini fairing so will have some new videos in the Spring. The Gimbal gives a great 'lean' effect on the bike and gives really smoothe, shake free, footage when, e.g., walking round and filming bike meets, events etc.

Are you going to do another fuller run with this bike. Would good to see it at a more motorway speed

Hi Ian - great video. Would like to know where you carry your GoPro, what kind of gimbal, etc.
