There are so many controller brands I would recommend that he doesn't even review, which is understandable because they are lesser known, and he probably doesn't have the time to review them.
This controller works with the Razer app on the Xbox too, there is also a recent firmware update that fixes incorrect stick position when centred. Awesome review captain!
Maybe for your controller it's supposedly fixed it but it's impossible that it fixed it for zero deadzone and high sensitivity! Razor stated it cannot physically be completelycorrected digitally! They were manufactured wrong so you're never going to get super fine zero dead zone high sensitivity from them unfortunately.
@@ChiefBangarangI have one (not updated yet) but it seemed more like a calibration issue than a hardware issue. With the lowest setting it kept going back to a rather stable position each time, it was just not 0 but pretty close to it. Even with the old firmware and the deadzone setting 1 level higher than 0 I could just slightly brush the stick to get movement in cod, the issue is overblown and maybe even fixed with the new firmware
I have 2 w. Rzr ultimate and replaced 1. All THREE out th box have had stick drift. Hence my skeptical opinion towards the v3. But for only 99. It's well worth it. Still looking for a go too
Glad to see that official licensed products that are on the Controller market are starting to go with hall effect joy sticks. I really hope Xbox transitions to them on the elite controllers since it is my favorite controller as far as how comfortable it is to play on them.
That same Razer Wolverine Tournament you started with is still the baseline to which I measure all other controllers because I liked it so much. I got the V3 a couple weeks ago and then 2 days later the Vader 4 showed up in the mail and knocked it off the top of my list. The V3 is hella good but I was hitting the backside buttons by mistake occassionally. I realized I was no longer reaching for the V3, instead opting for the Vader 4. Thats when I started going through all the controllers to test the feel and when I landed on my old fav, the Wolverine Tournament and it hit me immediately. The Vader 4 feels like the Wolverine Tournament I loved so much. The V3 has earned a spot on the desk but its the Vader 4 I keep picking up to use. I like being able to get a good grip with my ring and pinky fingers and with the V3 the back button is under my ring finger and I dont really have any room left to grab with my pinky finger. The Vader 4 has that nice flat area there that lets me get a good grip and Ive never once hit a button by accident like I do with the V3. I think a pro gamer with lots of dexterity is gonna love the V3 but as an older guy I have a hard time with controllers with extra buttons in some locations. The Scuf Envision for instance I want to love but the side buttons I hit all the time by accident and the rear buttons are very hard for me to use effectively. BTW I am using Razer Controller Setup for Xbox on Win11 to set it up so your not stuck with the phone app.
@@MindlessKing64 if your nimble and can use the buttons the Wolverine could be tough to beat. The back buttons are perfectly placed under your middle and ring finger. The thumbstick adjustment on the Vader 4 is awesome but if Im honest I dont have either set far off center and the stiffness of the 2 controllers is pretty close the way Ive got them set. In the video he showed 13% error. On both the Vader 4 and Wolverine V3 Ive put the sticks into circularity mode and got a perfect 0% error. Theyve both got great thumbsticks so I guess you gotta give the edge to the adjustment on the Vader 4.
The other YT "reviews" for this controller are more of a commercial than an actual review. I assume they were paid. I was waiting for you to give an honest review before I decide to buy it. You do it the best.
Razer always was more about marketing and overpricing rather than performance-quality. This is why you can see so many bots comments or too overexciting comments about Razer products, and every time I'm say something about cons, price tag or issues I got a swarm of "razOr fans with da best controllers/headsets/mice/keyboards in their life" attacking or even insulting me for doing that. Never happened with other companies products before (expect mainstream games and consoles with their fanboys, of course, but that's obvious). Not sus at all.
@@zakariabekkal5501 Really, it can be just a controller, but it's still a reviews and discussions, sometimes with arguing, about opinions, experience, pros and cons. And I'm dead serious, this happens sus too often in Razer discussions.
The cheaper Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition seems like the best bang for buck controller atm for PC players. Sure it's wired only but has the 1ms mode and if your a PC gamer your likely sitting right at your desk anyways; unlike if console gamer on a couch or somthing further away etc... Only other difference besides no wireless is no carry case included; for $100 less I can easily manage without those as a PC competitive gamer. Really thinking about picking this up today, BUT I am debating on waiting to check out the new " PowerA OPS v3 Pro Wireless Controller" thats about to release.
Wired controller with obvious quality control and ergonomic issues for $100 simply cannot be "the best" for anything unless it's something truly groundbreaking or flawless - this one isn't.
Hey Kevin. As soon as I saw this controller online I had to buy it, I've been waiting for the GH review to get your take on it. I actually didn't mind the v2 rear buttons, as I'm a tight grip controller holder, so switching to the v3 I've had to re-learn how to hold the controller. There is a Razer Controller app on the MS store, and a function to change the joysticks from square to circular but only in the "Xbox" 250hz mode. The downside to tournament mode is that the controller app and the chosen circular mode for joysitcks does not work, possibly some other things as well that I might not be aware of. I actually don't notice much of a difference from 250hz to 1khz, and much prefer the more accurate circular joystick mode. Overall I think it's an amazing controller that I'll use for many years.
We need to see if there is a way to run tournament mode with the circularity mode set to circular. I hope if we can't find a way to circumnavigate razers poor implementation here they can add it as a fix in the future. Sacrificing input accuracy is not work an extra 500hz if you have already overclocked to 500hz in the console mode (plus you are still able to use the Razer Controller App without switching modes).
IKR, the pro doesn't have Bluetooth and both require a wired connection for the 1000hz polling rate to be activated. The 10ft cable is long enough to connect to the PC/Xbox and the couch in my living room.
I would go for that one but I bought the gamesir g7 se and the wire in my Xbox stopped working after like 2 weeks, I don’t think I’d be getting wired again, unless it’s a fault with gamesir. Can anyone recommend a way to use a wired controller without using the Xbox usb itself? It might either be my Xbox port which isn’t working as it should or just bad cables.
I used to play mouse and key. Due to nerve issues I can't. But im able to play controller. The v2 pro. Gave me extra comfortable buttons. Making my gaming experience alot better. I'm really looking forward to this controller!
This controller looks very good but there is a wired only Tournament Edition being released on 09/27 for $100. All the same features but you don’t get a carry case. I’m just looking for this for PC so I’ll wait for that one and save $100!
I’ve had the controller for about a week now. And it’s a really good controller. My main problem with the controller are the thumbsticks. The thumbsticks are pretty stiff. They feel like they have increased tension, which I’m not a fan of at all. I play fps games like Apex Legends where you need to make micro adjustments when aiming and tracking, and it’s really hard to do that with this controller. Even after adjusting the settings in app, it doesn’t feel good to me. But besides that, the controller is damn near perfect. I really love the clicky buttons and trigger stops. The controller is really comfortable in hand, and the back buttons are a huge improvement from the v2. I probably won’t be using it much b/c of the sticks, but it is definitely a great controller worth trying.
@@David-eh3htgamesir G7 se are light tension compared to the standard Xbox controller. I use it for apex as well and I’m not a fan of stiff tension myself. Only downside is no trigger stops.
@@David-eh3htthis would be a weird one but Beitong Zeus 2 for apex is unmatchable. I’m looking to order mine tomorrow or by the weekend My cousin brother came for holidays and he had that controller. I tested and I was blown away. The Thumbsticks are so smooth. It feels like the ps5 controller if you’ve ever used it. The extra shoulder buttons are also a plus. Not to mention I had the v2 chroma for months but never used it because the thumbsticks were just really weird. Especially for apex. Get the Beitong Zeus 2. You won’t regret it trust me
Great review as usual my lord. Regarding the 1ms tournament mode, one has to keep in mind the controller is under XBOX official license, hence the low latency has to be manually triggered. Msoft specs indeed lock up the polling rate up to 2ms, usual value being 4. It is about communication protocol and USB frames synchronization with the host. They probably wouldn't have allowed Razer to go default 1ms, nor be able to go 1ms on console. Must be for that reason too the controller cannot go 1ms in wireless mode, as we've already seen some 1000 Hz wireless products such as Flydigi Apex 4, but so far no official licensed gamepads reaching 1ms wireless (and obviously Razer is totally capable of developping such features, though I'm wondering why they didn't implement 2ms wireless). Keep up the good work, as a controller enjoyer I can never get enough of your reviews
I’m ok with it not having rubber grips. In fact I prefer if controllers don’t have them. From experience, having to get the rubber grips sit flush with the rest of the surfaces on the controller involves making the plastic that the grips are glued onto thinner and more brittle. So when you drop the controller, the plastic under the grips more easily breaks and then you end up with grips that fall off the broken plastic. This is annoying on the Elite controller but it’s easy to find solid non rubber replacement shells for the Elite. On a similarly priced 3rd party controller, this is a much bigger potential liability
I sent my Victrix Pro BFG back to get this controller, and I'm so glad I did. I really liked the Victrix Pro BFG and was happy to see the hall effect modules get released, however I never made use of the modularity of this controller, and it seemed a bit pointless for me. The Wolverine V3 Pro just feels a lot better in my hands, the mecha tactile buttons are super satisfying to use and extra shoulder buttons are so much more useful than I thought. I still rely on my Vader 4 Pro for more competitive games, but the Wolverine V3 Pro is perfect for solo games.
Why do you prefer the flydigi controller over the v3 pro for competitive games? I have the apex 4 right now and am debating on getting this one because of the back buttons, they look rlly good. Is the flydigi faster or something, and if it is can i overclock this controller to get a faster pulling rate?
@@Nick46914Yeah, the Vader 4 Pro gets 1000Hz on the wireless dongle, and it's noticeably more accurate due to having superior hall effect technology. There's a ton of customisation in the software. The Wolverine V3 Pro is perhaps more suitable for actual LAN tournament play, as it doesn't have any features that could be deemed illegal, however there's plenty of competitive play online, for which the Vader 4 Pro is more practical.
Dude, I love my Razer V2 despite its less then stellar app, the paddle buttons being a little too far for my reach, its still been a game changer. I even called them when my back paddles didn't work, it turned out the controller I bought was returned at Gamestop and the previous person dropped or abused it. Came outta the box with 1 of the paddle buttons just permanently firing. They replaced it rather then fixing it..with a brand new controller. Which works flawlessly still. And reset my warranty. Idk about other peoples experiences with Razer, but mines has been EXCELLENT. My only real complaint is over long periods my left hand would sometimes cramp. This controller is definitely my next gaming purchase, and I'll keep the V2 which still works perfectly for my PS5
I sincerely love your channel, quick wit, and reviews. I don’t buy a controller without hearing what you have to say about it. I respect you taking the time to do these tests and videos. Love you you handsome devil.
I've had mine for about a week and I'll say it's probably the best controller I've ever used. It has allowed me to lower my in-game dead zones to zero which makes the controller feel way more responsive and accurate. The precision of my aim has actually improved in only a week of using it. My few gripes are the fact that the controller doesn't have Bluetooth (I would have liked to be able to pair this to my tablet to play Warzone Mobile) and the battery life is a bit lackluster. I've had to charge it every other day. Lastly, for $200 I'd expect the piano black lines on the sides that separate the grips to have RGB lighting as well. One last thing I'll mention is that although this controller is branded for Xbox and can be setup VIA the Razer Xbox app, there is currently no way to update the firmware VIA the app. Razer support's answer to me was "Please be informed that the only option for you to update the firmware for your controller is by connecting it to a Windows computer. We do not have information if the controller will soon have the option to update the controller via Xbox." I don't have a PC so I guess I'm SoL until they make updating VIA the app possible. Overall, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and I can highly recommend this controller even at it's $200 price point. If you're on the fence, definitely give it a spin, you won't be disappointed.
I'm thinking about buying one, but I'm concerned about the size... I think the Series X controller is the perfect size, and the Xbox One controller is slightly too big. How would you say the size is compared to a Series X controller?
@@some_random_penguin It's pretty much the same exact size as the Series X controller, it's just shaped a bit differently. The two wings that you hold onto are slightly different. It took me a day or two to get used to, but it feels great now.
I have all 3 and no. Outside of the hall effect sticks (and the issues of the original Ultimate) the V2 Chroma and especially the Ultimate feel much more premium, comfortable, and better all around than this controller. I collect hall effect controllers, so I pretty much have all of them with a few exceptions and I think because of the price tag and how much I don't like this controller, I will be sending it back. Vader 4 Pro feels like the Wolverine Ultimate minus the rear paddles and rubber grips. The Vader 4 and Apex 4 both have better sticks and I think the buttons/d-pad feel better, though they are extremely similar (especially the Vader 4 / Wolverine V3 with the similar trigger locks). I personally prefer the Stealth Ultra to this controller, even with the lower polling rate (after updating/fixing the Wolverine V3 of course). The Wolverine V3 out of the box did have issues with stick centering and not finding center with 0 deadzone, but that seems to be mostly fixed with firmware updates....so if you buy this controller be aware. I say all of this with the original Wolverine Ultimate being my personal favorite controller of all time for feel, button responsiveness, and overall design (again minus the known issues, like the sticks breaking easily and bumpers breaking easily). I was so excited for the V3 or a Wolverine variant with hall effect sticks long before this controller was ever announced and I feel let down....like I thought I was getting a Razer and instead I got the Chinese replica. Out of all the controllers mentioned above, the Vader 4 is probably the best all around controller. Better sticks than anything else around right now and the only hall effect joysticks that lets you adjust the stick algorithm (that I am aware of) from rectangular to circular or vice versa (with the software) and it also allows for stick tension adjustment (as does the Apex 4). The design of the joysticks also leads to no anti-friction ring as the joysticks are basically floating and have a sort of ring below that the bottom of the half-sphere of the joystick will land on when the joystick is pushed to it's max in any direction so that the shaft never makes contact with the ring around it, making them feel like the smoothest joysticks you have ever rotated in your entire life. I can't think of another controller that comes even remotely close to feeling like these do and no other sticks have ever been designed this way and this design should make these hall effect joysticks outlast the already super long lifespan of typical hall effect sticks. The only thing this controller lacks is a nice rubber grip. I don't know why Flydigi does not add that on the Vader or at least make a version of the Vader with them. Personally, I bought a rubber shell for Xbox Core Wireless (PlayVital Samurai) and cut out for the buttons/tension adjustment rings for the Vader 4 Pro. It feels great, fits perfect, and still sits on my Flydigi wireless charging base to charge just fine. I love the Apex 4, but the triggers feel gimmicky to me, they don't work in Adaptive mode very well or at all with a lot of games, and you pretty much lose the trigger vibration unless you are also fine with having force feedback which can really mess up the feel of a game. It's a great controller still, but the Vader 4 Pro is better IMO. Basically the Apex 4 with better sticks, better triggers, and better tension adjustment design without a screen or rubber grips. I would probably rate the Wolverine V3 lower than it truly deserves due to my bias/being let down, but I really believe even being fully honest and unbiased that I would put it below the Vader 4 Pro, Apex 4 and Stealth Ultra (with my current favorite 3 controllers being in that exact order). I have dealt with Razer customer service many times in the past (I have multiple Wolverine Ultimate, V2 Chroma, and Mice) and they are absolutely horrible. Turtle Beach is by far the best of the peripheral CS I have ever dealt with. Flydigi is also not very good in this department, at least in my experience.
@@percy4209thanks bro. I’ve a question about the v3. Can you remap the back buttons/ shoulder buttons to pc commands? Just like the way you can remap the Vader/ Apex back buttons to keyboard commands. Or are you just stuck with controller commands?
@@percy4209what is the point of circle vs rectangular modes on the sticks? I know rectangular is normal for every other controller but I can’t tell if I aim better or worse with either option.
I bought this on the recommendation this is good for medium to large size hands. I don't know how you figure this controller is good for large hands. The palm grips are not as wide and curve down more which makes your thumbs rest past the ABXY buttons and the distance between the palm grips and the triggers makes my middle finger which is resting on the back button, jam up against the edge of the trigger covering. Everything else however on the controller feels super nice love the feel of the buttons and the sticks. Just the size is so cramped that when i hold it so it feels comfortable; my thumbs are getting close to the pause and start button.
I’m debating on either getting this or the SCUF Envision Pro and I don’t know what to get. For me: Razer Pros- Hall effect joysticks, better button placements beside the triggers Cons: Can’t map the buttons to any keyboard button, and the capture button isn’t detected in Steam input SCUF Pros- 5 extra buttons, map any button on the controller to any keyboard button Cons: No Hall effect joysticks
@@PhoenixJTF2I've seen your comment on so many videos about this controller lol, but it seems like all it took was an endorsement from GH to seal your final decision. 😅
I'm defintily waiting until the Nacon REVOLUTION X Unlimited is out, and your review of it is online. Really hope you got it early too, but im not holding my breath on that😅 Thanks for another great review man. You're the only reviewer of controllers i'm watching, and never get disappointed by them.
Almost a perfect controller. I just wish it had the ability to adjust the tension on the thumbsticks. Thank you for your review and continued dedication to bring us the best reviews.
I agree, the thumb sticks feel pretty stiff. It feels like it has higher than normal stick tension. Adjustable tension would make this the perfect controller tbh
Hey, I don’t usually comment on videos but wanted to say a big fan! Just wanted to mention there is a windows app called the “Razor Controller app” on the windows store so you may want to revise that part of the review or make overlay on that part. It was super easy to use. Anyway keep up the great work! Loving the controller so far myself.
Just bought mine. Got problems with 3 Elite, and my Stealth Ultra stopped working after just 3 months. So, let's try Razer for the first time! Hope it is as good as it sounds!!
My first razer controller was the razer raiju. Loved the mechanical face buttons and the trigger stops. Played mgs phantom pain with it for the first time on PC since it's PS4 release and had a blast!
I've had 3 controllers (xbox elite series 1 and 2, and dualsense edge) that have problems with the grips peeling off. AND I'm very careful with my stuff. If you don't have this problem then it's because you have 100 controllers that you give love to so no one gets used too much. But you should look into what I'm saying and maybe start considering that the lack of grips can contribute to the longevity of a controller.
same thing happened with my dualsense edge, the grips yellowed despite me keeping my hands super clean and then bubbled and eventually started to peel off.
@@ichatterbotShouldn't have to do that on a premium controller worth so much. I bought custom grips for my Vader 4 Pro, but that's a £60 controller, lol.
This review looks like a hit for me, looking for a controller with instant triggers, 1k OC capacity, in Xbox setup. And the 4 back paddles. Impressive, will keep looking but that's my n°1 (coming from somebody who really doesn't like razer as well), thanks for the review. Also thanks for your honest in depth reviews of various products, this is my go to channel for this now (I only play wired AH, suck it 2024 cavemen strong)
The LordOfMice driver is already installed after you’ve done it once. You don’t need to keep hitting install service on every single device you’re trying to overclock
I got a chance to play with this at PAX West 24 and it is a really nice controller. I actually think it might be the best controller out there besides the Carbxn Custom Controller Xbox version. Great review! Hope to see that Carbxn review someday lol
Another stellar and complete review Kevin. Honestly...meh... doesn't dissuade me from spending my sheckles on the Vader 4 pro. Wait, I can buy two V4P's for less...
I'd bought a V2 then two weeks later they announced the V3... I thought for SURE I'd like the V3 back paddles more than the V2 back buttons...but with the way I hold the controller my fingers rest PERFECTLY on the old style back buttons. Like perfect perfect, with the paddles I have to grip the controller more than I normally do and that causes it to not be as natural to get to. Super surprised really. On paper the new back buttons should be better! May just be the way I hold my control.
Great video , i cant make my mind up between this and the flydigi vader 4 pro to use on my xbox (mainly fps) so i do have to take into account latency using a converter for the flydigi and the which had better thumbsticks. What would you recommend?
I had the Vader 4 for Xbox and sent it back an ordered the Wolverine v3 pro as soon as I found out about it. There’s just so much to go thru setting up the Vader 4 for Xbox so it works properly where as the wolverine is plug and play. I did however talk to a fly digi rep and they did say they are making a controller for Xbox in the near future. Just my thoughts and opinions. Hope you enjoy whichever you do get tho. Both are great controllers with all the new features most players desire.
@@MindlessKing64I would definitely say the Wolverine feels much better for Xbox. And the back buttons being mouse click is also better than the Vader 4 imo as well as the mouse click triggers feel better as well. The scuf instinct instant trigger felt better to me than the Vader 4 even. In order to use the back buttons for the Vader 4 I had to map everything on a pc otherwise the back buttons wouldn’t work. Also I could only get the Vader 4 to work for me wirelessly where as I play fps games such as pubg and I prefer to be wired. But when I would play wired with the Vader 4 there was a huge like 1 sec delay with my actions. So I had to play wirelessly using the brooks wingman xb3 adapter. Which in all costed around $150 US dollars so for $50 more the Wolverine was a clear winner to me as it is plug and play. Only advantage I seen the Vader 4 has was the thumb stick tension you could adjust which was nice. But imo the Wolverines face buttons along with all the buttons just feel much better than the Vader 4.
@@WooTxng really appreciate your insight, one more question. How would you compare the thumbsticks, what felt better to aim on/control recoil? Seems alot of people rave about flydigis thumbsticks on this controller
Back layout from the V2 I honestly loved those. Playing apex legends with that back layout had me MOVING with no loss between actions I’m hoping the V3 is the same. My cat dropped my v2 once and those bumpers EXPLODED😂 and I hate using my elite 2
I had this controller for 3 weeks and I liked it initially until the left trigger started acting very differently than the right trigger in regular, not the mouse click mode. The left trigger suddenly became not smooth and not dampened at all when fully pressed with a hard hollow sound at the end, while the right trigger remained smooth and nicely dampened when fully pressed. In addition to this, the controller was simply never as comfortable to hold as the standard Xbox or ps5 controller, especially when mouse click trigger buttons were engaged. I would only consider buying once the controller has been out for a while and gets proper durability testing.
Hello, i would want to ask if there is any difference between this and the tournament edition, which is 100$ cheaper. Also, i am a child and, as mentioned in the video, the face buttons are hard to push. Should this be a deal breaker for me? Lastly, i used to have the snakebyte pro x until the right trigger broke. Should i get the snakebyte again, the Razer Wolverine V3( the tournament edition of course i aint getting my dad to pay an extra 100$ just so i can play wireless, if its the only difference) and the new Flydigi vader 4 pro, which looks very nice but the sticks dont have a perfect resting value, which concerns me. Thank you to anyone who answers!
Give me those succulent triggers Daddy! Really looking forward to my V2 chroma replacement. It lands tomorrow, oh yeah! Another great review Kev. Thank you.
I play strictly single player games, I quit my competitive shooter arc but I still buy pro controllers because I can't play without back paddles. 😂 Your videos help me decide on which one I'm picking up.
In the controller captain we trust. I would like to see you add a segment where you quantify stick tension and force needed to actuate abxy bumpers etc
I'm hoping they release a PS5 version of this controller. I've been disappointed with Razer controllers for a while as my favorite was the Raiju Tournament Edition which they no longer produce. This new Wolverine improvements are what I wanted
@@ThorthedhexfyttggfffSony is really doing the most with that face board touch pad. It’s such a damn gimmick, haptic triggers are the only things I enjoyed.
After watching your review I pulled the trigger on this controller. Returned the stealth ultra after a week of using it as the controller mainly software kept bugging out on me. Been waiting since then for a similar controller that didn’t have all that crap. Thanks for the great review
Was this review done before the firmware that came out recently? There was deadzone issues when you set the controller to 0 deadzone. Also saw that vcuda said that if you have the remove double deadzones selected it actually adds more delay.
This was the only controller that I bought prior to your review. No need to apologize. Your reviews just validates my purchase from a professional standpoint. I know other stallions and stallionettes appreciate the comprehensive reviews as much as I do so it’s always worth the time for quality work. Thank you sir Kevin❤️🔥✅
I love these in-depth analyses but one thing I really REALLY would like to see in them is a little bit more detailed explanation of how "good" the d-pad is. I've been looking for a controller with a tactile d-pad but after I tried the Flydigi Vader 3 and found out quickly that I would VERY often get accidental up presses when doing quarter circles. Typically when you review the d-pads it only comes down to how "good" or "bad" it "feels," but that doesn't tell me anything about how well it performs in a game that uses it a lot
Love your reviews love your content! I have been waiting for this redition of razer controller! I must say captain You are the one reason for my out of "control" and expensive controller Addiction! 😂
How anticipated are you for the Nacon Revolution X Unlimited? and where does this stack up against Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra, PDP Victrix Pro BFG with Hall effect modules (although my left trigger regardless of placement of left module. Seems to be on the fritz and sometimes my A button doesn’t work. Nonetheless I think the regular modules work just perfect and I bought two Frenzy KontroIfreek and put both mid rise grips on the Victrix. Looks clean. just gotten Wolverine V3 Pro, with Kenny Kontrofreeks Love the haptics, and the mecha tactile I prefer over Stealth Ultra tactile buttons. Needless to say I always switch it up, but my go too for now is the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra with Kontrolfreek Lotus Thumbgrips which looks great with Miami Vice RGB. What do you think Gamer Heaven? Also everybody else what r ur thoughts? It has been a great year for 3rd party XBOX Pro controllers. Thinking of of picking up the ASUS it’s 109.99 on Amazon down from 149.99. Also can’t wait for the Nacon. Also what other Kontrolfreeks do you reccomend? I really love the Lotus better than the frenzy. I have a pair of white clutches which are great. The Kennys r so cool very grippy, but the Lotus right now has to be my favorite. Also have an unopened Purple and Blue Battle Royal High rise grips, was wondering what you think of those. I thought they would look good with the Turtle Beach. @GamerHeavenOfficial
Great informative video as always. Not sure I can justify an extra $160 AUD for wireless though. Bloody Australian prices suck. Keep up the great work mate.
Outside of the issues, the Razer Wolverine Ultimate is hands down my favorite controller design. I loved the location of the rear paddles/buttons, the shape/size of the controller, and the overall design (rubber grips, thumb sticks, some of the best mechanical switches on the buttons, etc). Even the V2 Chroma was very close and I love that controller as well. This is just a cheap knockoff compared to those with hall effect sticks. Why on earth do they think this thing is worth 200 bucks? I've been saying since the release of the KK2 Pro that I couldn't wait to buy a Razer Wolverine with hall effect sticks, but I'll stick with Flydigi I suppose. I love my Apex 4 and V3 Pro, but I sure miss the comfort and rear buttons of my Wolverine Ultimate and V2 Chroma. Razer just can't get right with their controllers.
@@GamerHeavenOfficialimportant to note that this controller doesn’t have total button remapping like xbox elite controllers and most other pro controllers offer. Cannot remap face buttons, dpad, bumpers etc. total remapping is crucial for the pro scene, not as important for the casuals
Was really looking forward to this review. A real shame you didn’t cover anything to do with profiles, storing them on the controller if you can, switching profiles using the Xbox app etc. Still a good review though.
What's the point of a 32 minutes review video with a segment about the D-Pad without testing it with fighting games which is what D-pad are the most used for nowadays?
Thank u for the great vid Capt ! , I tried to order on Amazon , but sadly in Canada I have to wait over a month to get ! . So I may wait. I have a core that works fine ( I’m one of the lucky few ). But I’m definitely excited to get this biatch!
Great content as always @GamerHeavenOfficial. One question. When you remap a button, can you disable the functionality of the original button? Example: When playing FPS - Remapping R3 to M1, and disabling R3 to eliminate accidental melee.
Hey Kevin love the review! I’ve been waiting for a good bit for it since I found out about the V3 Pro, but MUCH WORTH THE WAIT 💜 and have you tested the 3.5 mm jack on this controller and if it would work with a y-adapter and a MODMIC? I’m assuming it would and I can always use the return window if it doesn’t, but I wanted to ask so I wouldn’t have to worry about the return window 😅
Regarding this particular controller, if my Stealth Ultra does fall apart, then I can turn it in for a trade with this one as those extra two bumpers are perfect for my type of grip, (Pointer fingers on Bumpers, middle fingers on Triggers.) as it'll allow me a quick use of the additional bumpers. Plus 1ms delay out of the box overclocking for my plans to go on PC! :D As a side note, the Razer controller app for Xbox/PC also accepts this controller as well as I've seen in other reviews, and lastly, at 21:15 you can see the pain I as an Australian face when looking for a good piece of tech that'll be worth my money, hence why I'll only trade my Stealth Ultra for this one if it breaks. As it is, I already had to replace my first for a new one due to a peeling grip less then two months after getting it at launch. :/
I got this controller when it released and really liked it at first. After using it for a few weeks though, I started to face issues. I actually did get stick drift with it. I tried zero-ing out my thumbsticks as much as possible and still my character was slowly drifting away in the aim. I had to edit the deadzones in-game because the options in the controller software have too big of a range. A few days later, my LB button started functioning super poorly, barely giving a response unless I really slammed it with pressure. It was super weird and I unfortunately had to return it. Not sure if it was just a defective controller that I got or if they didn't properly test that. As much as I loved everything else about it, I'm weary to try again with a new one.
Please can you somehow bring up the poor calibration issues when on a 0 deadzone and the huge 1 deadzone. When on 0 feadzone out the box many people me included have stick drift, but i dont think its from potentiometer, but from a weird centering and it to be recalibrated. This is becomes as accurate as a normal xbox controller when the deadzone is that high. Its not what i expected from razers hall effect controller. If they put recalibrating software in the application it would solve everything, but i may have to return this and grab another turtle beach stealth ultra so i can run at 0 deadzone it is the most important part of having a pro aftermarket controller right next to having 4 paddles for me. I don't kbow if you are in contact with razer, but not being able to play on 0 deadzone is 100% a make or break for anyone buying this controller for a competitive edge thanks for listening.
I even commented on his last post the same thing I bought two return them both the same day with emails from razor stating they did not calibrate the thumb sticks properly and they're all messed up for people that are going to play high sensitivity zero dead zone like you should be able to on a brand new controller on a competitive FPS game! It's crazy that a company this big could do something that stupid.
They released a firmware update last week that improved the no dead zone drift. It is notably better but it is not perfectly centered. I need to put the software dead zone to 1 and 1 to have no drift. Or turn a little on in game.
@@andrewverdino769 I mean for myself in the 22 other people I spoke with, that's how it was with or without the system update and if you look at the dead zone set on one it cannot compete with other controllers like that on a competitive level that's all I'm getting at that's a huge area of non-responsive control. I updated one of mine and didn't do the other and it made no difference. Now more power to you if the 1 works for you though 🤙
Just an update on my last post. Talked to Razer. Yes there is a Share button. Yes you can record clips. Take screenshots? Razer: "Hmm. The Wolverine v3 Pro is not set up to take screenshots." So they have a Share button. They have software capability to record video clips. They didn't think people might want to take screenshots (you know, like every other Xbox controller with a Share button). Contact Razer and push this. Should be an easy software fix in an app/firmware update. Man, that was poor planning, Razer.
Captain, please take all the time you need. I don't even consider controllers, until I get the Gamer Heaven review
Your comment warmed my soul
Eagerly waiting for the day he rates a dpad above 8.
There are so many controller brands I would recommend that he doesn't even review, which is understandable because they are lesser known, and he probably doesn't have the time to review them.
He's not wrong. I do the same thing.
Same.
This controller works with the Razer app on the Xbox too, there is also a recent firmware update that fixes incorrect stick position when centred. Awesome review captain!
Thank goodness on that firmware update! That issue was the only reason i wasn't gonna get one
Yeah it works with the app but you need a PC to update it.

I’ve been dying for this review. This is officially on my TBB list of controllers.
I would really like a comparison between this and the flydigi vader 4 pro.
that and the victrix
This cuz mine has my cod player moving to the side and is brand new
I have 2 w. Rzr ultimate and replaced 1. All THREE out th box have had stick drift. Hence my skeptical opinion towards the v3. But for only 99. It's well worth it. Still looking for a go too
Please gamer heaven the people need it!
Totally agree. As much as I loved the back buttons and dpad of the Wolverine V3, the Vader 4 takes the cake.
@@ptpracing which one feels better with fps games? Is there a big difference between the thumbsticks on the two?
Can the Vader 4 be used on Xbox?
The other YT "reviews" for this controller are more of a commercial than an actual review. I assume they were paid.
I was waiting for you to give an honest review before I decide to buy it. You do it the best.

@@born_2_bass379😲 how did you know?
Razer always was more about marketing and overpricing rather than performance-quality. This is why you can see so many bots comments or too overexciting comments about Razer products, and every time I'm say something about cons, price tag or issues I got a swarm of "razOr fans with da best controllers/headsets/mice/keyboards in their life" attacking or even insulting me for doing that. Never happened with other companies products before (expect mainstream games and consoles with their fanboys, of course, but that's obvious). Not sus at all.
@@J0rdan912like really? Its funny how people trashtalk for literally nothing, its juste a controller tho 😂
Me when I play PC games from my couch lol
@@J0rdan912fr, if they had a wired version of this, I’d buy it. But their wired controllers always seem to be lacking something compared to wireless

Same, Apex 4 is my GOAT but I will still show up for the captain.
@@ZodiacEntertainment2what is Apex 4 is that on Xbox?
YOU ARE A GOD!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! EVERY OWNER OF THIS CONTROLLER NEEDS TO KNOW THIS!!!!!!!
You know what? For $100 less is the corded version and to me that's more than enough of a difference to be quite alright using a corded pad!
IKR, the pro doesn't have Bluetooth and both require a wired connection for the 1000hz polling rate to be activated. The 10ft cable is long enough to connect to the PC/Xbox and the couch in my living room.
I prefer wired
@travisa1326 same, ever since going back to pc gaming like 6 years ago ive preferred corded.
You are the only channel I will trust when it comes to purchasing a new controller!
Yes I got the gamesir kaleid and I had the same problem on apex. Do you suggest any other controller?
@@David-eh3htgamesir G7 se are light tension compared to the standard Xbox controller. I use it for apex as well and I’m not a fan of stiff tension myself. Only downside is no trigger stops.
@@David-eh3htThe Vader 4 Pro has adjustable tension on the thumb sticks. Works perfectly on Xbox when using the Mayflash Magic-X adapter.
@@David-eh3htthis would be a weird one but Beitong Zeus 2 for apex is unmatchable. I’m looking to order mine tomorrow or by the weekend
My cousin brother came for holidays and he had that controller.
You won’t regret it trust me
Thank you for the information, I don't like stiff stocks either, so I'll probably skip this one🫤
I love your channel so much! Buying my Xbox Series 2 Elite controller led me to your channel, and I'm so happy it did!
That is a beautiful looking controller
It is pleasing to the eyes
Thanks for your input. I'll be grabbing mine today. Always in depth review and no fluff "paid promotions".
Been waiting for this! Definitely getting it. Made the changes I wanted. Good review.
@@KID_CHAMELEON okay, thanks😁
My question would be: Do you like it more the Apex 4 or Vader 4 Pro though? (PC)

I bought this on the recommendation this is good for medium to large size hands. I don't know how you figure this controller is good for large hands. The palm grips are not as wide and curve down more which makes your thumbs rest past the ABXY buttons and the distance between the palm grips and the triggers makes my middle finger which is resting on the back button, jam up against the edge of the trigger covering.
Everything else however on the controller feels super nice love the feel of the buttons and the sticks. Just the size is so cramped that when i hold it so it feels comfortable; my thumbs are getting close to the pause and start button.
I also felt this, button and everything feels great but hands were cramping after an hour of play so had to return it
I’m debating on either getting this or the SCUF Envision Pro and I don’t know what to get.
For me:
Razer Pros- Hall effect joysticks, better button placements beside the triggers
Cons: Can’t map the buttons to any keyboard button, and the capture button isn’t detected in Steam input
SCUF Pros- 5 extra buttons, map any button on the controller to any keyboard button
Cons: No Hall effect joysticks
If these are the only options you consider then I suggest you go with Razer.

Facts, and when I pointed that out to the fanboys who claimed those controllers are the most premium on the market, they said I was just hating.

@Gamerheavenofficial : how does this controller stack up against the Flydigi vadar 4?
Back layout from the V2 I honestly loved those. Playing apex legends with that back layout had me MOVING with no loss between actions I’m hoping the V3 is the same. My cat dropped my v2 once and those bumpers EXPLODED😂 and I hate using my elite 2
The only controller reviewer I trust with my life
I had this controller for 3 weeks and I liked it initially until the left trigger started acting very differently than the right trigger in regular, not the mouse click mode.
Just got one, got bored of the edge. Time to try new rollers 👌 ur vids are goated ty
Hope you enjoy it, and thank
You
How are you liking it? I’m debating on getting this one too I’m also coming from the edge.
Buy a Xbox
I’m the same boat love all the features and extra buttons/bumpers just wish they made a Hall effect version for ps5
@@ThorthedhexfyttggfffSony is really doing the most with that face board touch pad. It’s such a damn gimmick, haptic triggers are the only things I enjoyed.
Do other ps5 controllers exist? Sony has a tight grip on that afaik
This guy deserves a million sub he’s so entertaining and cool
I’m so glad you did this one! Thank you brother keep up the amazing work!
Hands down the best Xbox controller ive used so far..shame about no 1000hz for xbox but other than that its perfection! Well played Razer!
I have been waiting for your review of the controller, since it was announced!
Greetings from Denmark💙
After watching your review I pulled the trigger on this controller. Returned the stealth ultra after a week of using it as the controller mainly software kept bugging out on me. Been waiting since then for a similar controller that didn’t have all that crap. Thanks for the great review
I been waiting on this review.
Does the controller have a mute button?
such good edits man, some good laughs were had!
Thank you. 😊
Dude I LOVE the Razer Wolverine. Ive had it for 6 years and its just now starting to get worn out on the "A" button. Gotta get me a new one.
There is a mode you can set through the settings app to change the circularity mode. Would like to see the test at 16:15 with that mode enabled.
Typically when you review the d-pads it only comes down to how "good" or "bad" it "feels," but that doesn't tell me anything about how well it performs in a game that uses it a lot
is that a witherhoard on your desk?
THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEW! BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Hope you like it!
Another banger. Nice to know because i play on Xbox mostly and i collect controllers too. Looking to pick one up soon.
Yoooo I was wondering when this review was coming, good job like always man keep it up!
I was so so so late. Yes 3 so's lol. Thank you my friend!
@@GamerHeavenOfficialimportant to note that this controller doesn’t have total button remapping like xbox elite controllers and most other pro controllers offer. Cannot remap face buttons, dpad, bumpers etc. total remapping is crucial for the pro scene, not as important for the casuals
I've been waiting for your review for this controller before i decide to get it.
Woah, looks like the best back button placement just by the visual
Was really looking forward to this review. A real shame you didn’t cover anything to do with profiles, storing them on the controller if you can, switching profiles using the Xbox app etc. Still a good review though.
What's the point of a 32 minutes review video with a segment about the D-Pad without testing it with fighting games which is what D-pad are the most used for nowadays?
Hey , Can you recommend one controller under $200 , for large hands , for pc
Thank u for the great vid Capt ! , I tried to order on Amazon , but sadly in Canada I have to wait over a month to get ! . So I may wait. I have a core that works fine ( I’m one of the lucky few ). But I’m definitely excited to get this biatch!
THE review I've been waiting for!!
Had been waiting for your video cause im interested in buying it. Thank you good sir 🎩
Do Kontrol freaks fit on the thumbsticks?
Great content as always @GamerHeavenOfficial. One question. When you remap a button, can you disable the functionality of the original button? Example: When playing FPS - Remapping R3 to M1, and disabling R3 to eliminate accidental melee.
I’m so glad I’m watching this video now that I’ve pulled the trigger on it already, well I haven’t pulled the triggers yet , but it’s coming !!!
Between 3 controllers for Xbox everybody says aims the best, but now aim pro, this or Vader 4? What’s your opinion? Mainly play fps
For xbox, this or gamesir, for pc vader 4, you need extra stuff to use vader on console.
I like the gamesir SE but I wish they came out with a pro controller with mouse click triggers!
What about aim controllers?
Now I see gamesir g7 pro is being teased. If that has mouse click or trigger stops w/ 4 paddles could be end game!
@@JoeP-r4k if for console, gamesir 100%, if for pc vader or apex 100%
For FPS only the Vader 4 Pro any day, for everything else the Wolverine V3 Pro feels more satisfying, although performance may not be as good.
As a side note, the Razer controller app for Xbox/PC also accepts this controller as well as I've seen in other reviews, and lastly, at 21:15 you can see the pain I as an Australian face when looking for a good piece of tech that'll be worth my money, hence why I'll only trade my Stealth Ultra for this one if it breaks.
Your opinion boss, this new razor controller or the Xbox elite v2? Which do u like better or which is better in general 🤔
Great review man. Ty!
That back wall is nice! 👍
I downloaded the firmware update. Leagues better, but not fantastic from a brand* new controller. It's playable.
@@insecurecomb1822 hey man if you're able to get it to work for you some that's better than nothing 🙌
In your opinion what's the best controller for PC only with back buttons?
Flydigi Vader 3 or 4 pro
Vader 4 pro or maybe this
this controller instantly caught my attention when i saw the redesign of the back paddles. did you happen to do a test on which kontrolfreeks fit?
Xbox ones fit, PlayStation were too big
How does this compare to the pc controllers such as the flydigi vader 4? I wish my vader 4 had those extra bumpers
Just an update on my last post. Talked to Razer. Yes there is a Share button. Yes you can record clips. Take screenshots? Razer: "Hmm. The Wolverine v3 Pro is not set up to take screenshots."
So they have a Share button. They have software capability to record video clips. They didn't think people might want to take screenshots (you know, like every other Xbox controller with a Share button). Contact Razer and push this. Should be an easy software fix in an app/firmware update.
Man, that was poor planning, Razer.
