I don't understand why people bring the artists into the gear. I understand their name is on it. But for me, take the name off of it and compare amp to amp or guitar to guitar. I own a Jason richardson and a JP. I prefer the Richardson. Not because of the name, because I like how it feels, it fits me better. I played both of those guitars before buying them. I didn't even know Richardson had a signature guitar. I picked them both up because they looked cool, and when I played, I liked how they felt and sounded. @@jimlansa7098 Thanks for commenting. I'm glad you are digging the FR12. it's a great unit. Regarding the whole Slash vs John Petrucci thing, We all have different tastes and like different things and that's perfectly fine. On a technical level, JP is far more superior than Slash. Honestly, John has also written a lot of memorable and very melodic solos. The solo for Barstool Warrior is absolutely amazing along with many others such as Lines In The Sand, The Best Of Times, The Spirit Carries Cn etc.. You should watch him play that solo live on the "Score" DVD. it was amazing. All that said, they both have their place in the industry and I think they both have added things to it but in my humble opinion, JP is the superior guitar player. Just my opinions. Cheers 😄
2 comments on this one lol the ethics of all this? Your normal 15 yo kid cant afford a Diezel or Mesa, Revv etc. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't get access to great tones. Plus, when they get further along in life what do you thhink they'll be looking at? That same kid will likely buy amp X because of their experience with the capture. Plus like we've said many times i dont want to drag 7k worth of my favorite gear to a shitty bar.
I definitely have to disagree with you about Slash. Appetite and Illusions, hands down Slash has written more iconic (better) solos than JP. What about November Rain? ‘Give into me’, the solo he did with Michael Jackson!!! Slash has done more for guitar than JP could imagine and I’m sure JP would actually agree with me. If I created a top 10 list of best solos ever written, Slash would definitely be in there twice. JP wouldn’t even make the list. And I’m positive the majority of experienced players would agree. Choose your words wisely, I’m considering unsubscribing for disrespecting Slash. Go listen to the Illusion solos
Thanks for sharing your opinions here. that's what this channel is all about. Hopefully you don't unsubscribe over something like this but if you do, all the best to you. With respect, John Petrucci has the number one selling signature guitar in the history of signature guitars. I think that solidifies his position in the guitar community. Dream Theater is definitely not as popular as Guns & Roses because they're not a mainstream band. there are prog and their songs are 10 to 15 minutes long on average. That said, on a technical level, JP could easily mop the floor with Slash any day. I'm not being disrespectful by saying that, is just facts. Go look at the solo for "under a glass moon" That will some things up easily. I kind of feel like we're arguing over Superman VS Shazam LOL. I hope this is all in good fun. have a great night

so thanks for that!
the second thing, just wanted to say that me, as a big fan of john petrucci and dream theater, a prog metal player my self, i disagree with what you said about slash.you right as far as his technique and being pretty simple with no particular complex playing. but,and a big but.as a guitar solo composer he is second to none, there are not many guitar players in the world that have so many iconic memorable solos like slash,i mean you can sing each one of his solos as it was a great song for itself+he has a great feel.
@@jimlansa7098 Thanks for commenting. I'm glad you are digging the FR12. it's a great unit.
Regarding the whole Slash vs John Petrucci thing,
We all have different tastes and like different things and that's perfectly fine.
Cheers 😄
I am buying a Magnatone amp and then I am gonna put big tires on it.
Well said! Thanks for commenting.
With respect,
John Petrucci has the number one selling signature guitar in the history of signature guitars.
Go look at the solo for "under a glass moon"
That will some things up easily.
I kind of feel like we're arguing over Superman VS Shazam LOL. I hope this is all in good fun. have a great night
@@TONEWARSgearshow I retract my comment as you were just being honest and I can’t hold that against you. It’s refreshing actually. Love the channel brother
