The reason why the rg destiny impulse is in the colors that it has is due to it being based on the colors of unit one. Four destiny impulse units were produced, all of whom are piloted by the test pilots of the chaos, gaia, and abyss (as a reminder Shinn was the assigned pilot for the impulse, not the test pilot). Unit two colors are in red, white, and purple and unit three's colors are in blue, white and grey. Unit four's colors are unknown.

Funfact:in the seed vs astray manga the upgraded version of Destiny Impulse,the Destiny Impulse R and Adaga,had a same sillhouette like its predessor,but both of the Gundams Destiny Sillhouette is an independent unit,it had an A.I,the A.I can Hijacked a mobile suit and use it,when Lowe and his Astray Red Frame fought the DI R,but then interuppted by the Blau Calamity and the Gelb Raider,The DI R decided to self destruct when he cannot fight again and runs away,same as the DI R,the DI Adaga also forced to self destruct when the unit fought the Rot Forbidden Gundam,because the unit can't fought the Rot Forbidden anylonger,but the Destiny Impulse Adaga's Sillhouette ejecting from the unit ejecting,and then starts running away Together with the DI R,and then the Unit found the Strike Gundam that was made by Valerio Valeri and starts hijacked it to collect the combat data,but Valeri turning on the Strike's Self Destruct system and it makes the Destiny Sillhouette forced to ejecting again and runs away,and then when the creator of DI R decided to deployed all the suits to attack the facility in which Valeri was in. Lowe was also in the facility at that time and he launched in the Astray Red Dragon, together with the other suits that Valerio Valeri created to protect the place. During the battle, Lowe deduced that the Destiny Impulse R was the controller of the DI Adagas and Valerio Valeri came up with a plan to destroy it. They let the Blau Calamity, Gelb Raider and Rot Forbidden Gundam deal with the DI Adagas while they try to get close to the Destiny Impulse R. Lowe and Valerio Valeri later took advantage of the gap in the DI Adagas' attacks and closed in on the Destiny Impulse R, destroying it with the Astray Red Dragon's and Turn Red's swords simultaneously.
I came across this RG today and a guy named Shotaro did what everyone want to do: paint it with Destiny color scheme. I hope for a RG Destiny 2.0 soon.

I have the MG Destiny Impulse Regenes. I love it. It’s basically the same as the RG, with the exception of slight change in the silhouette wing design. The MG wings are more on the round side than points. Second difference is that instead of the Sword, it has the Blasters. The blaster design is similar to Destiny’s Cannon than the Impulse’s blaster, even tho the Kit itself is Impulse with the Destiny name. Like he said in the video it’s more Impulse than Destiny. It’s literally the Impulse gundam with a different backpack. Only issue that I see, it only has 2 Cannons. It’s an Impulse gundam, so I get that you have to change it up. But it’s such a disappointment that it only comes with a standard shield and Rifle. A pair of Knives like what Strike has. A tiny little Core Splendor for decorating. Not really part of the Suit. And two Destiny style Cannons on the back. But other than that, it is an absolutely a great kit. Especially Anyone who is drowning in model kits should consider getting one. Final note: It’s P-Bandai.
i still dont get why the Strike Dagger is PBandai and the Dagger L was regular release when you'd think it'd be the other way around, as the Dagger L was mostly in the background in SEED Destiny from what I recall, whereas the Strike Dagger was THE grunt of SEED.

Did the cuff pieces on your impulse crack aswell? I mess around with mine somewhat often and both of the cuffs on the arms are cracked down the middle on mine
The Destiny Impulse IS what could be a « perfect Impulse » : it has the sword, the blast and the silhouette pack all in one ( silhouette being refined with wings for voiture lumière system)
I had the hg destiny gundam back in the day and it didnt stay attached so i had to use super glue but it didnt articulate after that. Thought about buying this but the 60 dollar price tag is a turn off.
Fun fact... This is actually ZGMF-X56S/θ Destiny Impulse Gundam [Unit 1]. There's a total of 4 units but the 4th unit is not known. 0:15 It is a shame that the RG isn't as good. It's why I am hoping for an MG 2.0/MGEX version of the ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam. Is the beam boomerang the silliest weapon concept in Gundam history? Outside of G Gundam, obviously, it's hard to top windmill blades that can create a tornado or whatever that scary clown Gundam used.
Zeta Gundam although the concept for using it was much better being able to create a small barrier like an Ifield for a few secs instead of directly as a weapon like other ones. It was used by Kamille by throwing the saber like a boomerang a distance in front then him firing on it to create a barrier as the thing created a beam effect for him to hide behind for a good few secs vs his enemy beams.
Windmill-blade creating a tornado arent that hard to believe in, considering these things aren't exactly powered by our piss poor excuse for "batteries" in the real world, but okay.

I'm not sure why the P-bandai listing removed those captions, but they do confirm in the actual listing that the wing of light effect unit is not included. makes me wished the RG line was given the MG treatment of having a 2.0 version of the old kits, the RG Sinanju especially.

The MG is an upgraded version. In the lore, they scrapped this due to high energy consumption.
