I got mine last week. I like it. I bought it for the smart bulbs. They didn't work without the "hub" so now I have a couple of smart lights and my govee smart plugs on my Alexa "network". Planning on adding more stuff. I like the sound. Used it with my computer, tv and phone.
I picked up one today for $5 as a special Amazon Prime Renewal day deal. Seemed like a no-brainer. Free same day delivery, setup took about 30 seconds. I wasn't disappointed.
I truly appreciate this review, as I've been able to find one since the product has been released. Thanks for all your details and comparison; really helps!
Hi Erin, thank you for another, concise, informative review. (All this back-and-forth comparing Dot to Pop sounds something like a Dr Seuss book😉) RogerC 8/18/23
I tripped out when you said accelerometer. #1. How did you know about the accelerometer, since it is not listed on their amazon page? #2. Apparently the only reason for it is to snooze alarms. It's not for tracking the speed of your house. #3. I'm not subscribing because you say ALEXA and ECHO so much that my devices are GOING CRAZY! (You'll find that some other creators have a way of muting those words.)
It's to help upgrade the United States infrastructure at an affordable budget and let's be honest how many of those smart features that are in the more expensive models do you people actually use on a daily basis in anyway. But the new one has a clock on it, yeah so does your smartphone it's not necessary. This solves that problem. Also all those smart features become obsolete within 15 years you want something that's going to last and sit on the shelf and be out of sight and out of mind and connect to many different devices while looking good. Not something that's going to be gaudy and out of date in 5 years. The pop is probably going to outpace all the other models in the future. Due to the simplicity and functionality. Only 17 dollars a pop.

you can trigger Alexa by pressing the volume up and down buttons at the same time on the Echo Pop.
