- www.autobytel.com/jeep/wrangle... The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is a go-anywhere do anything sort of SUV. It gives you the confidence to tackle almost any off-road obstacle out there. The Wrangler Unlimited is really just a 4-door version of the regular Wrangler. The interior is nothing fancy but you do not buy a Jeep Wrangler for its luxury amenities. A great point about purchasing a new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is that it has a very high resale value meaning the SUV holds it's value well.
The base model 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited retails for $25,545 and with it comes a 3.6 liter V-6 engine that produces 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy for the Wrangle Unlimited is 16 MPG in the city and 21 MPG on the highway.

We just recently sold our 2006 Jeep Wrangler Sport that we got brand new, for about 30K. It's 2016 now, and we sold it for 16K! He's not lying when he says resale values are amazing!
Great review! I like the straight forward and simple approach no gimicks! Thank you so much for taking your time to do this! I have been looking for a review with good talking points and straig no nonsense points. I am going for a test drive finally. It seems worth my time. Thank you again!
One thing to point out for anyone, not familiar with jeeps. All Jeep Wranglers come with 'open difs', front and back. Which means you have a 2 wheel drive vehicle when driving in uneven terrain. The Wrangler Rubicon is the only Wrangler that come stock with ' Dif E-Lockers. One push of a button locks all the wheels together, making it a true four wheel drive. And they are awesome.
Very nice review!
I have a 2011, and with a light touch, I can average 22.6 mpg - mostly highway. With the PentaStar, I'd imagine a person could get 25 mpg. It takes a lot to get the 2011 moving, and a lot to bring it to a stop. Seats are comfy on long trips. Visibility is EXCELLENT. Highway you get knocked around a lot on windy days - to be expected - it's a box on wheels. Dash layout is very functional. Radio controls on back of the wheel are nice. Freedom top off in 3-4 minutes. No mechanical issues.
I had the 07 Wrangler 6 cylinder automatic 3.8L. I now have the 2012 Pentastar, way more power... better ride, I haven't noticed much of a Fuel economy change, but ive barely made it past my first oil change.
I love Jeeps, and im excited to see what kind of future the wrangle holds.
Im 21 and it.s my dream car for now.
Getting a 2012 4 door unlimited after Christmas, went for a test drive and I was sold!!!!
How has it performed for you?
I can see this guy is used to doing Camry reviews.
thanks for the info man,I wondered that very point about the locking diffs.the sport and sahara don't have locking diffs.and the hood latch and gas cap are just wacked in my mind.
i loved the 4L
i'm thinking about getting one, but compared to the toyota 4runner, which is a more comfy ride?
Such a BEAUTIFUL MACHINE... I'm getting it soon as i sell my car
i need this car !!!!
thoughts on the 2.8 CRD engine?
How's the sound from the inside. Can you hear everything from the outside and is it a comfortable ride on the highway? I'm not expecting BMW comfort but is it at least better then a Civic?
Hi Desmo,so how do you like your Jeep now, after 9 months?any likes, dislikes, and or surprises?...just wondering.I am scanning for info on Wranglers,I might buy a 2012 model maybe.
i really want a jeep !!!
Estos videos son' muy vuenos.
Pero, tendrian k estar' traducidos al ESPAÑOL.
i love classic 4x4s wow i like it and its way better and tougher in off roading than new modern paper crossover suvs and weak fast suvs
6 seconds! very impressive
is t so so good man í like
My wife is going to test drive one today. Hehehee
3 words.... JEEPS ARE AWESOME!
This may be new to you but, old school jeepers love the 4.0 and think Chrysler made a mistake by putting it out of production.
@zenithturbo Yes, that is why I'm so hooked up on the new JK. It's a riot on the trail as much as a daily driver. I hear you, I would never think of making my jeep a weekend toy only, since I enjoy it the way it is. 300K for a 2009? Wow!!
My first comment was in regard of the presenter of this video depicting the 4.0 as a failure or something like that. Good luck with your buy if you decide to go for a JK!
Also, im a girl and the Hard top takes my husband and I no longer than 5 mins to get off, 10 mins to get on, TOPS!!
The soft top is another story, but can be done alone.
that guy reminds me of Jim's dad... from American Pie... now i feel like watching them all lol
In my country well spec rubicon unlimited costs 43000 euros
@KeliBaB yeah, I agree, they should have created another inline six, 4-4.2L,direct injection, DOHC, 24 valve vvt, engine with at least 300hp and lots of low end torque!
JL out now 2019
@zenithturbo I agree with you. If we weren't expecting a baby in about a month I would give the down payment for a new wrangler with the pentastar engine on a heart beat. But don't forget HP doesn't mean as much as torque when offroading, which is where the 4.0 shines. The 4.0 has more low end torque. Also, decades of reliability if properly maintained. Mine is a 99 model circa 120k miles on it, and I'm expecting it to get to the 200k+ mark no probs.
He didnt mention that you can also get a six speed manual transmission
I am so getting a jeep.
I'm getting one of these after i enlist wednesday for the army ; after basic.
Do you still have it?
this guy didn't go to in depth with this. Was it really noisy with wind all that stuff during the test drive?
Guys, help me out here please. The engine bay, isn't there a way to prevent any Tom, Dick and Harry from opening that? Are the latches the only security enhancement?
The canvas rear windows as well, are they easily unzipped from the exterior on the soft top? #SouthAfrica
You can buy a hood lock if access by ne'er-do-wells are an issue.
As for the soft top, they aren't 'easily' unzipped, but once again if you live in a place where security is an issue, they probably won't unzip your windows, they'll just cut them anyways. An age old Jeep motto.. "Don't leave anything valuable out in the open". But then again, thin window glass never really stopped determined people either.
True story... Thanks for the reply
Unlimited = plenty of space for women and kids to conquer any mall.
Just bought my 2012 2door 12 days ago, wouldn't sell it for anything! (Ok, maybe a billion dollars)
This dude has no idea what he is talking about. If it takes you 20 minutes to take your hard top off you should not own a jeep, and not only is a jeep an investment it's also a life style
takes me less than ten lol
Ya this guy has a bunch of thugs messed up
0:48 SUS Among Us?!?!?!
My sister has this car and today I attemped to move it and I had a really hard time. The gas pedal was soo stiff
be a man
your sister likes it stiff
I knew this wasn't going to be pretty when he maligned the 4.0L :( It was a far better engine than the minivan motor they put in there, before they brought the Pentastar to the lineup
This guy is most definitely NOT a jeep guy, the mini vans with all the options and comforts are back the other way dude
If Jeep replace those side-latches for a normal hood lock. I will find the guy who make that change and punch him in the face. Jeep is one of the most successful vehicle transformed from Military vehicle
are you really compering jeep with hummer? ok...
And saying that 40k is crazy for Rubicon.... yeah, the reviewer is looking at a car from looks and interior prospective only, absolutely ignoring the mechanical capabilities (diff lock, traction control, etc...)
As someone said he didnt mention 6-speed manual? Of course he didnt, he also compared Jeep to Hummer.
I wonder what kind of review he will give to G-Wagon...
17 and this will be my car before graduation >-
I've owned countless of Jeeps throughout 15 years. From GC to Wranglers. I have mixed emotions and statements.
For true off road. Theres truly only one; THE OLDER MODEL, CAST IRON, INLINE 6 ENGINES.
They were smaller, nimble, cheap to repair and you litterally snap on parts with in seconds.
They need to go back and start offering jeeps that are smaller, ligther, with simple mechanical set up and start offering V8, like they once did.
There charging way to much.
lol u can also take off the doors... ura
the car is so small compared to his shoulders :D
jeep wrangler can eat toyota land cruiser in off roading
Interior is nothing fancy? its nice as hell? navigator, controls on the steering, nice looking, and prob a lot of other gadgets....
This guy leaves SO much info out, this isnt a review, its a light gentle hew of what the car might be in the eyes of a large Israeli man.
You're pointing at another Jeep Wrangler.
No, but you sure are ;)
The Wrangler is the only convertible Jeep. This guy always spits out some weird twisted fact in his videos. Right words wrong order.
That's what the ladies like...
all talk
I got my mine with 2.8L Diesel Engine. Fucking love it. Loved my 97 cherokee but that thing drinks too much gas..!
+Luke K How'd you get the Diesel?
+MichaelD8393 In Korea and Britian, Jeep dealership sells Diesel and Gas. So I bought myself a diesel and shipped to Canada. Genius!! (^o^)b
Luke K Thanks, now I know what to do for my Jeep.
“Dream for a suburban housewife” sucks for any dude that drives a wrangler. Anyone who drives a wrangler is a try hard
It's not a car dude, it's an SUV!!! You're insulting Jeep owners/ fans by calling it a car. Call it Jeep or a SUV.
SUVs are cars, dude.
What does a suburban house wife need a Wrangler for? She doesn't.
U MAD BRO?
I like their looks...
That is all.
Not too reliable.....
I really dont like those latches. It is easy for anybody to go under your hood and just mess with ur car. Not good
Housewives......????are u serious...
