This is absolutely 100% what comes to mind every time I think about my personal concept of "homesick for a place you've never been." This peaceful atmosphere is genuinely cathartic and the closeness of everything gives me a diorama-like sense of coziness.
That’s what I love the most about Japan. I loved walking in the rain on a warm summer night. Those cluttered streets full of sounds and smells. And then finding a cozy tiny restaurant and enjoying the food and the company of my partner while the rain is coming down. That’s just pure happiness for me.
the thing that surprises me the most is that you can just go take a walk in the middle of the night and feel completely safe, here in my country Argentina you couldn't make a single block without getting robbed or worse. What a difference to live in a first world country.
This is such a large contrast to American cities. Such a lack of just trash cans and litter is incredible. The pedestrian friendliness is also amazing.
I absolutely love the narrow city backstreets, intricately littered with intimate shops, restaurants, and bars. It creates such a wonderful atmosphere. ... and then there's the neat, closely knit suburban housing, which has a peaceful atmosphere all of its own. ... and it's all so CLEAN... No litter or graffiti anywhere! You are very lucky to have such lovely cities in Japan, full of character. I hope to visit one day.
i think one quality everybody notuices but no one really brings up about Japanese city streets is how cluttered they are. I mean they're impeccably clean don't get me wrong, it's just that they're full of signage, bikes, vending machines, outdoor seating areas and so on and so forth. Clutter makes a place feel lived in and therefore more welcoming.
yes i love too I absolutely love the narrow city backstreets, intricately littered with intimate shops, restaurants, and bars. It creates such a wonderful atmosphere.
I lived in Akabane-nishi for 10 months in 1979-80 and went to that station every day, and went to that shopping street at least once a week. It's hard to believe how much it's changed. I think there were only two train lines at the time, the Akabane line that ran back and forth to Ikebukuro, and (I think) the Keihin-Tohoku line. What a difference!
I like the part in 23:35 and 39:10 when you are walking alone in the rain. It feels so serene and tranquil. Would love to see more rainy park-walking videos.
Something about the serene walking experience, the way living can occur without even getting in a car. Being able to find yourself in a bustling plaza with food and lights, and being a short walk from an empty serene park and shrine. I would love to visit one day, and just find myself walking around enjoying the sounds and scents, enjoying some good food as well with no real goal. That is peace.
City walks can be nice. But nothing beats walks alone in a peaceful and quiet environment. Especially at night. That isolated night walk was heaven. I loved it very much. I wish I was there. I also liked how that car was trying to get out, but saw you and backed up, and you as well stopped. My god! That level of consideration and politeness for strangers is, I think unheard of over here.
i watch your videos almost every night when im feeling overwhelmed and need to wind down. you’re one of my favorite channels. thank you for the content. 🙂
It is incredible how clean the streets are. Unimaginable in German cities. Here, people are too lazy to throw cigarettes in the ashtray by the trash can. Thanks for the Date, Time in the description. 👍🏼
Something really captivating about the Japanese backstreets, so full of little hole-in-the-wall restaurants and bars. feels like you could just walk around with your mates until you find some little eatery or watering hole to call "your special place".
We can call this a summer rain, right? But the most important thing is that with or without rain, day or night, Tokyo is still a beautiful place... Good job Rambalac!!!
Marvelous rainy walk 🤗 💦, not only reflections in the streets full of colours, even every back street feels like magic through silver raindrops in the lights. City, shrines, parks, trains - everything looks dreamlike - like seen with fresh eyes! Loved to feel the vibes 💙, thanks for filming this !!!
Absolutely incredible image quality for night time. Thoroughly delightful walk. Thank you for sharing these moments with everyone. Greetings from Portugal! 🦊
I absolutely love the sound of rain in your videos, not sure if it’s because of the camera but no other channel picks up the sound of rain like yours, it’s like I can feel the rain in my ears! I love it thank you Rambalac 🥰💜💜
God, I wish New York had Allways like this contrary to believe here in New York there’s very few alleyways, that’s one of the things why I I’m so fascinated and I love Tokyo so much. I would walk these alleyways for hours if I had a chance.
20:50 one of the prettiest little spots I've seen that is under a bridge. Where I live, and most of America, if you're under a highway bridge, it's damp and dark.
Hola Rambalac. Me encanta cuando filmas Japon lloviendo. Tienen un misterio y belleza sin igual . El sonido de las gotas de lluvia cayendo sobre las calles es maravilloso. Aun asi y todo, Japon no pierde su belleza. Thank you Rambalac. Muchos Saludos desde Buenos Aires. Argentina. !!!!!
Very moody rainy night walk through those Tokyo back alleys, filled with all sorts of lights and cosy places to hang around for a meal or drink. And what else could I say, I never get tired of this setting!
Thank you so much for sharing your time in Seoul with us. Such a fun video! Also, Japan and everyone who lives there are on my mind and in my heart this morning after the earthquake. Sending all my best wishes for a full and speedy recovery! ❤
Excellent video. I am really happy I found your videos again. I really enjoy the walk thru Tokyo on a rainy night, as if I am walking there besides you thru the rain. It has been a hot and dry summer in this part of the world. We would love to have some of that rain. Thank you for the excellent videos.
In general, with its presence and reputation, rain can be connected to one’s memory, mood, and behavior. It is something that affects your world ultimately when it’s happening, and when emotions of the human mind are subjected to it nothing can be predicted.
These back streets look amazing with all the water reflections. Japan does seem to get quite heavy rain from what I've seen. The electric wiring above the streets looks a bit busy like the back of my computer, haha. I love the atmosphere in these videos at night with the back street buildings having warming lighting colours illuminating from them.
Hi, can't believe I'm going to say it but wish we had that rain here in UK at moment 😃, something about the sound of rain is so relaxing,, thanks, look forward to seeing your next video, thank you
I've watched a certain video with just rain sounds for the past two years. I've watched this video the past three nights falling to sleep and it's my new favorite. I love the chatter in the background with rain and whatever else. Reminds me of car rides as a kid. Blessings friend thanks.
@29:10, walking through that park, is my favorite part. So green! It’s just so amazing and to me, beautiful of how green it is there (I live in California, hardly any rain until Winter time).. the rain, the brightness of the green, the lighting there helps show off the trees. But I just love it! Every time your hand went up to blow off the rain, it made me jump! Lol
This is absolutely 100% what comes to mind every time I think about my personal concept of "homesick for a place you've never been." This peaceful atmosphere is genuinely cathartic and the closeness of everything gives me a diorama-like sense of coziness.

Nothing is better to watch than a rainy Japanese night walk!

It's 23 degrees tho'

The clearing away of the water from the lens is surprisingly endearing.
Man I loved walking at night in the rain back when I was studying abroad in Japan. It was just so fun. This takes me back to those days.
Japan looks so surreal on a rainy night it’s like a Video game and I love it!

Bought one while in Tokyo and it broke the first time I used it in Sweden. Didn't agree with the wind here at all.
This video made me feel so cozy, the streets are so relaxing, even the crowded ones, I don’t know how to explain it.
Same here. The atmosphere is undescribable. I'd give almost anything to experience that again.
no cars, thats it
Am I crazy or I find it, in part, somehow creepy

@12kerat how so?
38:08. Did you know the train would go past the moment you approached the viewpoint? The timing was perfect.
What is it that makes Japan so astonishingly beautiful with rain and snow? All the great artists captured this.

Not every store has ashtrays, I throw mine on the street because there’s not a single ashtray in the city and I don’t wanna light a trash can on fire
