How To Create A Gantt Chart With A Progress Bar To Show Percentage Completion Of Tasks In Excel

- A Gantt chart is a bar chart which is used to illustrate tasks that are to be completed over time in a project. To create our Gantt chart, the first step is to set up a project table with a list of tasks to be completed and their start and end dates. The next step is to calculate the duration of each task which is the end date minus the start date. Later on, we will use the start date and duration columns to create our Gantt chart. We can also include the progress towards achieving each task and use this to identify how many days of each task have been completed. To create our Gantt chart, we will insert a stacked bar chart. We will use error bars, data labels and other techniques to make the bar chart look like a Gantt chart which will give us a clear overview of the tasks that must be completed and how much progress has been made so far.

Hi, thanks for this tutorial. Is there a way to apply dynamic dates to the date axis and apply a scroll feature? For example, if I had a project program that spread out over 2 years and wanted to show a 2 month period at a time, could a scroll be added so that I could scroll through the different months and only see the months applied at the time?
Wow, I just found this video, very useful and share thanks for your share🤩

What excel version have you used for this tutorial?
Thanks a ton for this. This is exactly what I was looking for. I made the same for my project, but when I changed the dates later, the bars are not getting updated as per the new dates and number of days. Could you help in how do I refresh the chart?
Check included data
Is it possible to change the horizontal axis to show only the months?

I HAVE A QUESTION WHEN I SELECT THE DATA THE GRAPH MOVES LIKE DHSJJD
👏👏👏👏
how would you make sub topics for a main category and show the progress for each subtopic BUT a progress bar for the MAIN category as well? IE, if i had to build a motor mount for a prototype rocket i would want a main category called "motor mount" and then under that would be 3 or 4 tasks, each with their own progress bar, BUT the main "motor mount" progress bar would show the progress of the tasks added together?
thanks
Great video, thanks! For me, the height of the vertical today line did not work. I made a chart with 43 lines for tasks and could not find a way to get the line to reach from top to bottom.
Could you help with how you ad the actual if they did not complete in the set date time but over run by a few days to be able to show a minus progress of delayed time
