Fanatec have completed their move under Corsair, end of video needs trimming or updating to reflect this. New kit has been released and is in people's hands. Updates to the software also announced to consolidate into one place.
Ho my gosh beleive me 12nm is more than enough for 99% of simracing enthusiasts, even for advanced simracing people, and frankly, having compared several base and Mozas are really competitive, their software is very good now.
I've got an R9 and a KS wheel, you definitely made the right choice going the Moza pathway. I'm so glad I dodged a bullet last black friday sale and didn't get the Fanatec deals! The Moza is sooo good for what you pay.
i think when you already have a sim rig and you are trying a wheel base, you might not like it immediately, because you might be used to the one you were using, however, as you make adjustments with each game you end up finding that sweet spot you've been looking for in every game you have
Well Fanatec a month after this video are now part of the Corsair family and it so far seems like they will not have Ny major management changes etc so hopefully we will see Fanatec available in stores that currently have deals with Corsair and hopefully as well better supply and better prices to keep them at the cutting edge of competitive pricing which would be great for any sim racer no matter who they decide to use equipment wise.
You can mount it upside down and still have the steering wheel in the upright position as its a direct drive and has unlimited rotation so just mount upside down and you can have ur mount the right way on top and put the wheel at the right level after that
When I saw your video about the Cammus C12 I fell in love with it. So I had an idea to try to seek a partnership with them to reduce the shipping costs to Brazil but it was impossible.
Hi Sarah. I think you definitely made a great choice that you avoided Fanatec. Unfortunately apart from the Logistics they seem to have so many problems these days... I am a happy DDPro 8nm owner but thinking about any future fanatec updates has me worried🤔
Have you tried driving in V.R.? I'm not a driving game guy, but I did build my own V.R. helicopter controls. I enjoyed your video: knowledgeable, interesting, well put together and made by somebody who genuinely has an interest in the subject. Nice one 👍 (I'd have to have manual and a clutch, though)
You got the base huh 😬 so I own the R12 ( bought it like 3 months ago ) and after the recent update I’ve been having telemetry issues with mines. I also own a La Prima wheel base from asetek that came in a few weeks ago and no issues whatsoever, with my Bavariansimtec Omega Pro wheel and it’s a great combination. It does come down to preference though.
@@Alessandr_G not really! The clubsport dd is garbage I had one! It was nothing but problems and all it was is a csl or gt dd with more nm. Nothing was amazing with it! Went simagic alpha and was 1million times happier and then bought a r12 for a second rig! And even the r12 is way more powerful than the clubsport dd and now the r12 got a software upgrade which made the ffb even better. Fanatec does f even realize it’s 2024 and the only wheels they have with backlit buttons is a $1500 bmw wheel no one wants or can afford and there half ass rally hub that doesn’t even fully work right! Fanatec is so far behind it’s not even funny! Shows why fanatec is 70 million euro is debt and I bet it’s more than 70million euro by now 😂🤣
As soon as I read into Fanatec having lots of issues with shipping and meeting any basic service demands I shopped Moza and haven't looked back. The R9 setup is fantastic, would have went with a 12 but my F-GT Lite cockpit wouldn't do OK with that many newton to the meter. You definitely have to get into pithouse and adjust the stuff for proper feedback. That is a detractor out of the box, not as easy. But Moza is a company that will continue to exist as of all info available right now. Fanatec not so much.
Hi, thanks for the video and review. Do you know if the lower Moza bases (R3 andR5) also suffer the same FFB issue and need a firmware update as well? I can't afford a R12, so I am looking at the R3/5 as an option. Thanks
I know the update that they released for the R12 should ultimately be available for all of their wheelbases. I have heard people with the R9 already did it. Not sure if the R3 and R5 had the same issue but if they did I am sure the update will be available ;)
I bought a DD+, it arrived faulty. Over 3 months on I’m still waiting/fighting for a refund from fanatec. I would rarely say this but Endor deserve to be bankrupt. Hopefully a more competent company will take on Fanatec and restore it. I had to buy something else and still have a dd+ waiting to be returned and refunded
Seeing this I’m glad I didn’t go fanatec and went with the Moza r12 hope you get it sorted soon man, can believe that fanatec has such poor customer service
I just don't like the way moza ffb feels even after the update but what I really care about is the loading and unloading feel the tires and suspension. The snap feeling of edge of grip making us faster being able to push those limits due to the precise feel. Onpy bases I've felt it on are simucube, asetek and simagic. Those 3 give you that feeling incredibly well. But I will say massive update from moza for sure. In the right direction. I will say I do like details on straightaway the road. I like turning and feeling the wheel fight back and bounce. So I like that tbh. After this update moza users will finally realize what they have been missing out on! They always defended that feel you felt at first i was like no it's just not good. But this update did make it good. It was a complete 360 difference in feel for sure! Lol
@@Goooo00-q6ohahaha Moza isn’t the future. It’s Fanetec 2.0…. U must be new or newish to sim racing. U ppl who have Moza are drinking the same cool-aid Fanetec ppl had for years. Moza is mid at best and that isn’t going to change. The direction Moza is heading with Active pedals etc. is actually dangerous for them, it’s exactly how Fanetec and other companies lost their way by trying to dominate the entire industry and not having a true identity. I’ve been getting the same on hard right turns with my Fanatec 8nm base but luckily it comes back after a few seconds without having to restart. I honestly don’t know why it happens but it’s messed up a couple of races for me for sure. I’m debating whether to get the new 15nm or maybe change to Asetek or Moza.

@@TravisHi_YT No I don't regret it in fact with the new beta firmware I find the result quite close to my DD1. a few more small adjustments and it will be perfect ! The QR is better than the qr1 fanatec !
2:29 Can you restore your grips on the Fanatec formula steering wheel?, they look toast! 2:45 You could probably add spacers and washers and longer bolts to raise your wheel base a bit. Goodluck with the Moza gear, I still like to play some titles on console so I have to stick with my Fanatec gear.
Yes they are DONE 😂 4y.. I need to get it restored for sure. And yes, I’ll have to fix the height, thanks for the advice! Fanatec definitely still a great option but I think Moza is the future. Hopefully they’ll offer console compatible gear soon!
I think 20nm is quite a lot. I think wheel lugs are tightened to about 24nm. I'm impressed.... And slightly horrified at the prices 😂 but hey, we pay for what we like. My PC was 2k, my V.R. is like £500 and my telly was £800. My hobbies
The loud, very cheap-sounding gear changing noises at Moza are very disgusting. I have the same limited edition steering wheel from Fanatec and I can't think of anything better. Moza is the Opel among sim manufacturers. But I think it's great that there are people who like to buy Moza and pay even more for it than for Fanatec products. Respect ;)
Seeing that I already have 4 different wheels, a shifter, an ebrake and a great set of pedals for my Fanatec CSL DD and it only takes one USB port, I won't be changing brands any time soon. I can switch from GT style racing to Nascar to F1 to Rally in seconds. This setup would cost a fortune to replace in a different brand.
And you shouldn't! Sounds like a great setup. I loved my Fanatec gear. Made the switch because of some issues with my DD1 wheelbase and I think buying Fanatec today is risky.. Moza has improved so much recently and I think they are a perfect alternative with a very promising future. Their new products are exciting

I want to try force feedback in a pedal - although I'm a bit curious about what that simulates. The wheel seems to make sense, but not sure what sort of feel I'd get through a pedal in a real car.
In a real car, most of the feedback will come from the brake pedal. If the car has antilock, you'll feel the pedal pulsating on slippery surfaces or when you're standing on the brakes. Even if you don't have antilock, you'll feel the tires making and breaking traction on a surface that is slippery because of sand, water, or whatever. If your brake pads overheat and start to fade, you'll feel that too. There are a lot of things going on that gets transferred to the brake pedal. For the clutch pedal, you can sometimes feel the clutch chattering or slipping.
What you did is a slamp in the face to Fanatec as educational correctional measure in order them to wake up. With skyrocketing prices have to come to an end no matter what or how much someone was really good, or performed on high level.
if you're using a usb hub it could be that is the reason why you lose ffb i was using one and no force feedback i unplugged it restarted wheel base and had force feedback again i use a moza r9 i was using the moza usb hub maybe that can help some people drove me crazy for days trying to find out why i had no ffb
you should have wait a few month and go with new crp2 pedals way better than the old one fun fact i have same oscilation problems on my fanatec csl 8nm
r16 owner here, lets be honest are you really going to take your hands off the wheel at 200kph? At lower speeds however, I accidently took my hands off the wheel during the pace lap of an indy500 spilt earlier this year & the oscillation spat me into the wall. After that I adjusted the ffb curve to lower the strength at the slower speeds, now I can pace lap with hands off
I have sim lab pedals ( see the test, its the best value pedals, just excellent, better than asetek forte or HE ultimate, it s just crazy), simagic alpha mini ( i don t need more Nm), gt neo with a better clear release . The cost is a little bit higher but a lot better than moza, even if your material is good .

It's a great time to be into sim racing. Cheers.
Totally agree!
Just upgraded from an R9 to an R21, the difference is unreal
Moza base is the best one ive ever used
I've got an R9 and a KS wheel, you definitely made the right choice going the Moza pathway.
I'm so glad I dodged a bullet last black friday sale and didn't get the Fanatec deals! The Moza is sooo good for what you pay.
Love their software, I could fool around with all the settings for hours 🤓
You have good settings on Moza's discord for all sims. For me, this base for the price is a great base
Men of culture, focus on the objective.
Which objective, things are blurry to be bluntly honest.
That camel toe though
i think when you already have a sim rig and you are trying a wheel base, you might not like it immediately, because you might be used to the one you were using, however, as you make adjustments with each game you end up finding that sweet spot you've been looking for in every game you have
Well Fanatec a month after this video are now part of the Corsair family and it so far seems like they will not have Ny major management changes etc so hopefully we will see Fanatec available in stores that currently have deals with Corsair and hopefully as well better supply and better prices to keep them at the cutting edge of competitive pricing which would be great for any sim racer no matter who they decide to use equipment wise.
You can mount it upside down and still have the steering wheel in the upright position as its a direct drive and has unlimited rotation so just mount upside down and you can have ur mount the right way on top and put the wheel at the right level after that
I might try that out! Thanks :)
The 3.0 ffb update is very good, very impressed.
What's your opinion on their new active pedals, and will you be giving them a go?
i didn't realize that fanatec wheel was 270mm, that's tiny. i think the ks wheel should have been 290mm, the sweet spot for me.
When I saw your video about the Cammus C12 I fell in love with it. So I had an idea to try to seek a partnership with them to reduce the shipping costs to Brazil but it was impossible.
I've got moza r9 v2 it is a great wheel great video keep it up 💯 👍 💪 👌🏻 👏🏾
Yes Moza has great products! Thanks for watching :)
2:43 just add some (plastic) spacer + longer bolt/screw on the bottom of your moza direct drive to get the right height.
🙂
I’m so tempted to swap my CSL DD for this wheelbase.
You definitely would not downgrade if you did!
I love moza . Love from Belgium
I love my moza R16 over my fanatec DD1
I like them both, but I think Moza's value surpasses Fanatec currently
@@SarahNocchi agreed!!!!
What the? She is a gorgeous!
I made the switch from the DD1 to the Simagic Alpha U recently and have been enjoying the switch. I wanted a formula style wheel with a screen.
My Fanatec CSL DD has oscillation on straights. Definitely not just a Moza problem 😂
Easy to dial out though on the csl dd. Wasnt as easy on moza up until now
@@GregoryShtevenshhow do you dial it out without losing FFB details?
Hi Sarah. I think you definitely made a great choice that you avoided Fanatec. Unfortunately apart from the Logistics they seem to have so many problems these days... I am a happy DDPro 8nm owner but thinking about any future fanatec updates has me worried🤔
Yes they sure do, unfortunately! I do still like their products, but not the best value on the market anymore. We should know soon about their future!
Have you tried driving in V.R.? I'm not a driving game guy, but I did build my own V.R. helicopter controls. I enjoyed your video: knowledgeable, interesting, well put together and made by somebody who genuinely has an interest in the subject.
Nice one 👍
(I'd have to have manual and a clutch, though)
Same rig I have.
This was helpful. With fanatec going out of business. I would also then need a new mount
Which mount did you use?
Thanks
Moza is just the way to go
I think they will replace Fanatec in the future
@@SarahNocchi I’d argue they already have. The prices can’t be beat for the quality you get.
Very true!
I am ps5, fanatec is my only best option unfortunately. Nice review👍👍
Thanks! Fanatec is still a good option. But hopefully other brands will make gear compatible with PS5 too
@@SarahNocchi Fingers crossed, however, Sony compatibility is terrible so I don't see it in any foreseeable future. Thanks and good luck
Moza r12 or simagic alpha are both better than anything fanatec offers!
I think their value is definitely better nowadays!
Fanatec a mis plus de 2 ans avant de nous sortir enfin le QR2.
Pas de nouvelle roue GT, tout est vieillissant
My clubsport DD Is fantastic..
@@Goooo00-q6oI agree
Shows why fanatec is 70 million euro is debt and I bet it’s more than 70million euro by now 😂🤣
i love the on the fly tuning menu fanatec have with their wheels i think moza missed an opportunity to have that on their vision gs wheel.
Probably only a software release away.
@@SarahNocchi Thank you for the response!
Lol
N'importe quoi 😂
@@Goooo00-q6ohahaha Moza isn’t the future. It’s Fanetec 2.0…. U must be new or newish to sim racing. U ppl who have Moza are drinking the same cool-aid Fanetec ppl had for years. Moza is mid at best and that isn’t going to change. The direction Moza is heading with Active pedals etc. is actually dangerous for them, it’s exactly how Fanetec and other companies lost their way by trying to dominate the entire industry and not having a true identity. Ppl like you laugh at companies like Thrustmaster, Logitech, etc. but they will always be around.
We're building a rig with a lot of second-hand parts (I call it the Franken-rig). When shopping pre-loved wheelbases, what should we be aware of?
However, for the price point, the Moza may be an option... 🤔
I’ve been getting the same on hard right turns with my Fanatec 8nm base but luckily it comes back after a few seconds without having to restart. I honestly don’t know why it happens but it’s messed up a couple of races for me for sure. I’m debating whether to get the new 15nm or maybe change to Asetek or Moza.
my D1 is dead I ordered the Mozza R21 with the GS Wheel. II will receive it tomorrow I hope that with a good adjustment it will be fine thanks for the comment it reassures me a little :)
Wow nice! You won't regret it, how are you enjoying them?
Wow! The second female sim racer I have seen in my life. A beautiful sight for sore eyes.
3:59.........uuuuuuffffffffffffff in love!!!!!!!
7:52 The way you hold the steering wheel 🤣
What headset are you wearing 8:05? Thanks!
Razor BlackShark v2 pro!
You will notice that as you adjust the "Road Sensitivity", the values in the "FFB Effect Equalizer" adjust automatically.
@@SarahNocchi certainly, I have watched Moza closely, maybe in a few years I will change brands, who knows.
When a downgrade is actually an upgrade. Moza rocks.
Exactly!
@@SarahNocchi I was tossing up between Moza and Fanatech before they had all the financial trouble. Luckily, I chose Moza just before everything went to s h i t e. I've seen people have so many problems with Fanatech stuff as well. Moza is so simple to use and a really solid product. I'm hoping the Moza active pedal system comes in under my budget.
@@brett22bt great choice for sure! I always loved Fanatec but hated their customer support. And now the entire thing is a nightmare.
Moza is very promising, great value, and they really listen to their customers. I am really curious to see the price of the active pedals!
@@SarahNocchi Cheers, good luck with your new Moza.
Hi Sarah 👋🏻 what if you put multiple M8 metallic washers between your base and the support? It could elevate your base while staying steady.
Good idea, I’ll try it! Thanks!!
Sure you can raise the mount?. Thats crazy id go for high vs low. Mines always been to low on standard rig. (Gt omega titan)
interesting on moza and i did tried it but don't care for it... do like asetek invicta wheel base 27mn. to me it feels more responsive. by using it very similar to simucube feel
Ho un MOZA r9 vorrei passare a r12, ne vale la pena? Oppure passare a simagic alpha mini?
Nice setup white cakes❤❤ do u play American truck simulator are ets2
Can i use Thrustmaster pedals and shifter with moza r12 base and wheel right?
How come you stopped the F1 course preview/history/drive-and-talk? Those were so handy, I absolutely loved watching them! 😢
I am so sorry! I just haven't had time :( work has been very busy.
I have also been working on a new format for these, as I have had some copyright issues by using videos from old races.. But I am working on the Monza one as we speak!
@@SarahNocchi oh that's ok, don't apologize. I was just wondering, letting you know I did really enjoy them. I was wondering if it was a FOM issue though.
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I really enjoy making these but they were not shown to most people because of copyright stuff. Hopefully the new format will help with that a bit
With skyrocketing prices have to come to an end no matter what or how much someone was really good, or performed on high level.
if you're using a usb hub it could be that is the reason why you lose ffb i was using one and no force feedback i unplugged it restarted wheel base and had force feedback again i use a moza r9 i was using the moza usb hub maybe that can help some people drove me crazy for days trying to find out why i had no ffb
you should have wait a few month and go with new crp2 pedals way better than the old one
fun fact i have same oscilation problems on my fanatec csl 8nm
r16 owner here, lets be honest are you really going to take your hands off the wheel at 200kph?
Hi I have noticed that you havnt got a clutch pedal on iracing when you set up pedals with a clutch pedal and noticed you racing without a clutch pedal. For the price of this wheel r12 $899
