When I was young my grandmother, who hardly ever used canned food but she'd cook this canned corned beef and cabbage with white rice and crackling cornbread and to this day I would pick that over steak. My grandmother, (may she rest in peace) was a heck of a cook. Love you grandmother Rosetta Green who was born on Christmas day.
I made this tonight and it was definitely a success! The hubby loved it! He said it taste like home , he’s from St. Elizabeth Jamaica.
"Struggle meals" are the best meals.
Cornbeef is very expensive it can not be called a struggle food
Corn beef is considered struggle meal in our culture which I always wondered why because it is expensive.

I was born and raised in Scotland and I am as British as can be. I grew up on and still love a simple corned beef sandwich on crusty white bread with some onion and or tomato and even HP brown sauce! 😎

I was just telling someone yesterday that cabbage with left over rice n peas is the most delicious thing. I can imagine it with the corned beef. Just last nite I was shopping for barrel to send to Ja & bought a can of corned beef, yet I'm not a meat eater anymore. When I was single I used to make lots of corned beef n cabbage, yummy!
I made this today and I love it! Will be eating this way from now on. Only thing different I did was boil out the corned beef in water for 30 minutes because I have high blood pressure. It was absolutely perfect! Thanks Deddy and family!
This is one of my favorite meal. We make it with potato as well. Anything goes well with corn beef.

Please tell Deddy to use a wooden or plastic spoon on his new nonstick pan.. I don’t want Deddy to scratch the pot with the fork.. but I know that all immigrants always forget and use their go spoons and forks when dealing with nonstick pots and pans.. Other than that, Deddy has outdone himself again! #lawdofmercy .. I just love how Deddy carriers himself especially when it comes to cleaning the vegetables and meats (3 times with vinegar) and while he’s cooking.. his food always turns out because he puts soooo much love into his cooking!! God bless him and your whole family!

I'm back, back, back, back, back. In Deddy's Kitchen! I just love Deddy's Kitchen! Daddy always makes me smile and brings joy and happiness to my heart. His entire family is so warm and welcoming. Daddy definitely needs his own cooking show on national tv. I like how Deddy basically uses the same seasonings and chopped vegetables in all of his videos. He simplifies his recipes. I plan to make some of the dishes, but I cannot find the Flavo Rice in my area. I'm patiently waiting to see a brown stew fish and bammy video.

Yes hard dough bread, onions, mayo & tomatoes and grace hot sauce my choice my way. And this come from a American woman who is married to a Jamaican man of 31 years. I love my bully beef with ground food or fried dumplings 😍😍😍

So good! I lived in Jamaica for 10 years. I remember my mom making this for dinner. Brings back so many memories! Even to this day, if I want to make something quick and easy for dinner, this is my go to!

Mom's corned beef meal:
Mix the corned beef with cooked rice...Blanch whole cabbage leaves...Roll meat/rice mixture into individual cabbage leaves...Cover cabbage rolls with seasoned tomato sauce...
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes

My mother married a Jamaican and had her wedding in Jamaica in 1975. The whole family went, so there was no money left over. We ate canned corn beef for a week. I haven't eaten it since, lol... ~M

It kind of become a tradition for st Patrick's day, at my house. We usually use a slow cooker, a corned beef roast, onions, carrots, potatoes, and garlic. And then we have leftovers for days

Yes, of course I had Corn Beef Sandwiches. I'm a Jamaican/American living abroad. The way Deddy cooks is very nice. Remind me of home. I'v made some cabbage for two days ago . Minus the Corn Beef. The difference is I fry the Corn Beef extra before a little bit. Then add it to the cabbage.

I made this today for my Husband he isn't home yet to eat it but it looks ok I normally boil the cabbage and add it to the corned beef onions etc But i have tried it this way as it looked yummy. Keep cooking Deddy...
Enjoy watching your cooking show. But you cannot say the seasonings are salt free beacsue seasoning salt and flavorice has salt in it so it's best to say additional salt is not added to your meals.

Grew up on Cornbeef/tinned fish and rice in Papua New Guinea and let me tell you…now living here in Australia I always go back to those staples. So filling, very flavourful, cheap, warming, and of course the mems

We call it Bully Beef in South Africa ... I braise an onion and add Bully Beef with choice of spices and have it on fresh white bread or toast.
