You know Noel with all of these amenity kits you acquire on your flights the the oddly curious in me would love a review video of the best/worst ones you've had over the years lol. As always Noel love the videos and keep em coming!
I have never opened an amenity I have ever received! I find them to be totally useless but I know that I am somewhat alone on this. The kit usually has what I already have in my bag except maybe the stain remover! Thats thoughtful!
In pre-Covid times, many of my corporate clients would choose to travel on JetBlue domestically. Although a trans-Atlantic journey, it opened my eyes to this airline. Thanks for a superb video.
I have flown the mint many times between JFK and Los Angeles or San Francisco. I have been pleased with the comfort of the plane (particularly the new mint studio seats) and the food. The lack of lounges is their biggest weakness. For those routes, the cost is competative with other airlines, and I think that Mint is better than most airlines domestic business or first class.
Everything I have heard about the Mint product is great, but its availability is just too limited. If Jet Blue wants to be serious about getting into the premium end of air service, they will need to make Mint available system wide (even if it's only 8 - 12 seats on most of their planes) and provide lounges at key locations like JFK.
The price did seem a bit steep, but, then again, this is a new route for them. By the looks for the Mint cabin, there were A LOT of empty seats. JetBlue will probably start lowering the price as that is a LOT of lost revenue for them! Can't wait to see how the Economy Class goes for the second leg!
Another great video. Who would of thought 20 years ago we would be flying transatlantic on an Airbus 321. The Mint suit looks massive as you said in the video and all those amenity kits! The onboard product on jet blue seems like the one of the best transatlantic options , the studio almost seems like it is between business and first with a modern private seat and good food. As for the price im sure between LHR - JFK with early booking and off peak times the price would be way less possibly close to £900. In that respect that represents good value considering there hard product is better than most flagship airliners for the route only downside is of course the lounge

Spirit is the worst airline, I’ll never fly them again. As a bigger guy, JetBlue is much more comfortable with the size of the seat and the leg room (economy). Also having the ability to watch live tv during the flight is a big plus. JetBlue is worth the extra money compared to Spirit, Frontier or Allegiant, no question at all. I’ve always been satisfied with them the half dozen times I’ve flown with them.

I got upgraded from a regular mint seat to the studio on a cross country flight in December. I actually prefer the seats in the back. Thank you for reviewing this, Noel. With the exception of the broccoli dish, most of the food looked like typical low-cost carrier carb stodge. Blue is an unfortunate corporate colour because it gives the effect of living in an igloo (which oddly enough I do not equate with comfort!) and does not enhance the appearance of food. Not sure when you took this flight Noel but when flying JetBlue you can credit those flights/miles to your American AAdvantage account if you have one. 😉👍🏻. I am glad you had a great flight on the narrow body Airbus 321. The Mint Service looks nice and can be compared to Business Class in general on other airlines. I agree with you about champagne in a plastic cup!! I hope they will have glasses later on this year for champagne. Thank you for sharing your trip.
So, was the Mint/Business Class section full of passengers because when you scanned you camera i did not see anyone else. But the Flight Attendant went back to Economy Class and there where people back there. Wow!!! I have always needed Business Class flying long haul because I am 6"2 in height. And flying long haul in Economy Class is just not a great situation.
I think at some point Jet Blue will partner with some airline to give flyers access to an Airline Lounge especially paying that price for flying on them. And I don't mind paying for day passes even if I have a Business or First Class ticket. So wee will see who Jet Blue partners with.
All the issues you described can be addressed (price, lounge access, onward class continuation, etc.) By the looks of it, the fundamentals are all in place to make this airline very succesful. Lord knows, the establishment on the trans Atlantic route needs to be shaken up. Thanks for sharing, Noel.
I find the angle of the seat odd. I adore the BA experience on the A350 as you can sit and stare out of the window with the seat angled to the window - it also adds to your privacy as you do not notice people moving around as they are out of your line of sight - that is my favourite business class these days for that reason
I love it! I have been in that terminal at Heathrow. Nearby there is a pub, as well as a place where I had French oysters on the half shell and salmon tartare. And I have scored snacks in the snack shop you were in.
What I like about your travel videos is that you don't just travel first class you are prepared to fly economy, plus you travel to some unusual places in some unusual planes.
JetBlue got its start as a more budget airline a couple decades ago. Just recently it started coming out of the shadows. I expect JetBlue to either get their own lounge or share one with a premium carrier
Noel, thank you so much for these. I'm on a fixed income (translation: poor as shit) and may never get to have many of these experiences first-hand. Thanks for letting me ride along.
I am poor too, but I have treated myself twice to the mint experience. It's pretty neat. The disappointment comes when you leave the plane and remember you are no longer special. :(
You probably won't be able to get a suite like this (neither could I!), but you can sometimes find first/business class tickets for surprisingly cheap. Could be fun to treat yourself just once.
Given that Jet Blue came very close to collapsing into oblivion during the pandemic, I am not surprised at the price. United and Delta survived far better. Your fare is what keeps that crew employed. The fact that Mint even survived to be used is an accomplishment in it of it self.
Being uncompetitive on price is exactly what leads to the crew becoming unemployed. Fortunately for JetBlue, the situation is more nuanced than this particular example shown by Noel's experience.
I flew from Gatwick to SJU via JFK with jetblue in economy and can't fault the product. Other airlines were charging over £350 each (return) for a similar product. The service and experience was way more than I expected. But agree with Noel in that the website and mobile app experience was dreadful and wouldn't allow you to do the most simple amendments. The highlight for me with jetblue though was actually how they dealt with a long delay on our return. Communication throughout was excellent and they even sent through the compensation to us the same day. No waiting around for weeks or chasing. As long as jetblue are flying from the UK to the US I wouldn't choose any other airline over them. Oh and did I mention free in-flight WiFi for everyone.
Great review, really enjoyed it. Despite the 18 HPMs. (Huffs per minute)😂. Once you notice you cant not count them! But seriously, keep up the good work.👏👍🏻
Yep, I whole heartedly agree. I LOVE JetBlue, definitely my preferred US Airline. They have phenomenal flight attendants, spacious seats and great food. However, the whole charging Mint but flying economy for certain legs of the trip is not good. I recently booked a Mint flight from upstate NY to Aruba (had to connect in JFK). The flight from upstate NY to JFK had no Mint experience, which was fine because honestly it's only an hour flight and smaller plane. However, they did offer "Even More Space" seats. I thought surely because I had purchased the Mint ticket I would be able to select one of those seats for the first, short leg of my flight. I was wrong - they actually charged me extra money for those seats, just as if I had bought the entire ticket as an Economy flight. I thought this was absolutely crazy.
I had the pleasure of flying this from Dallas to London with a stopover in NYC. Not in first class, but the economy class was still wonderful. Quite a lot of legroom for economy, and a lot of amenities (chapstick, pillows, blankets, earplugs, etc). The food was also comparable to what you'd find at a restaurant on the ground. Also half the price of legacy airlines. I flew it just 2 weeks after you published this video and had no problems with it whatsoever. Maybe they saw your video and improved, who knows. Maybe JetBlue is the true first hybrid airline ever along with Air Premia & Zip Air Tokyo.
Honestly Mr Philips, your food intake is amazing! Maccies, KFC, Cheese and Onion slices with crisps and Dr. Peppers....Take me with you on your next trip!!! Great videos!
I've flown jet blue and they are by far the best "low cost" carrier. But I also see fail to see this product on a connecting flight. They charge premium and a half for this product and as you say, you get "short changed" with no lounge access and only businessclass barly half the way.
Priced too high for me at the moment. Really strongly considered them when they launched and had some excellent fares on offer for London to NYC. Now whenever I look they're more expensive than Upper Class with Virgin Atlantic, for example, and that's to have a worse flight schedule, no lounge etc and miss out on building loyalty with a big carrier. Would love to try, but not for *more* than a trip with one of the established ones.
At least JetBlue's domestic economy has more leg room than others'. It's close to other airlines' business class, and a huge benefit for taller flyers.
I love watching your films. Only just discovered them. They are so interesting. You love the aeroplane details and I l am interested in the meals. Thank you for spending more time on them and describing them. I am quite envious of your travels!
Great review as always. I love B6 but they seem to have an identity issue. It's like they want to be a "best-in-class, value, discount, point2point yet international carrier that hubs in several US cities but doesn't have the scale to offer reasonable connection times". I mean c'mon. Pick a lane.
Noel, yikes, you must have gotten the walk-up fare, or maybe it's different for UK originating flights? I've already done one round-trip JFK to LHR, and have another booked in May (JFK to LGW.) My first trip was US $795 round-trip (regular Mint, not Mint Studio.) My upcoming trip is US $1,593. ($995 for Mint plus $299 x2 for the Studio upgrades.) The first trip I booked soon after the route first became available. The second trip I booked because of the fare. The earlier you book, and on the least popular days, the better deal you get (obviously.) It wasn't that hard to find though on the website. The Jet Blue website has always been one of the easiest to book and change on for me. Again, maybe there's a different Jet Blue website for the UK. Anyway, for those who don't have Centurion access or Priority Pass, Jet Blue does have a lounge situation. It is what it is. The fast, free Wi-Fi on the plane is a huge plus though. My issues with Jet Blue are miles and JFK. I prefer United or BA for UK travel because I primarily fly out of EWR. Plus, I can use/accrue Star Alliance or oneworld miles. Regardless, the competition is welcome. My recommendation would be to use a VPN and see if you can book with USD on the US Jet Blue website. Lastly, for LHR to DIA, Jet Blue isn't a great option. BA has a daily non-stop to DIA.
And United also has a frequent LHR-DEN nonstop that I found good value. Must be doing OK because they’ve upgraded to a 787-9 from the -8 I took before the pandemic
What do people do with all of these amenity kits? Keep them? Aution them off? Or leave them on the plane? Great video as usual though! One day I will fly Jet Blue
I guess you could make the argument that by not offering lounge access, perhaps they are trying to enhance the in-flight experience (?). Some very interesting comments on the pricing, Noel. I’m sure the accountants have things priced and figured to the airline’s maximum advantage, but that does seem on the pricey end. I’ve never seen so much space available to a single passenger before! Safe travels, good sir - carry on 🙏🏼✌🏻
I would guess that as JB adds more service to London (if it grows), then they will have a lounge of their own; I personally use the app for ticketing changes and needs---never a computer or phone.
I flew JetBlue way back in the day when they first started up. They were one of the first, if not the first to prove In Flight Entertainment on short-haul domestic flights. Satellite TV, Radio and a selection of movies. In 2005 that was basically unheard of. Not to mention, they were labeled as a Low Cost Airline. I don’t fly then much anymore because I’m kind of a snob when it comes to flying. I have to fly with some sort of comfort (NO ECONOMY….EVER) and JetBlue just doesn’t cut it anymore. However, I can’t recall ever having a bad experience flying with them.
My question is if you are flying with a companion in mint class or any other airlines with pods like this , im assuming you really cant share the experience with a companion as you are separated, is that correct? I would HATE that if i was with my best friend or husband and we literally couldn't even talk to each other easily.
You should definitely look at doing the flight from Brize Norton to The Falklands. Its a public flight run by the RAF which is shared by military and civilians.
Surprising you had issues with JetBlue's website. I've never flown internationally with them (yet), but anytime I've had to make a change, their site is on it quick. One time it would not let me use my travel bank funds...and I had to call, but considering I've flown JetBlue here in the US over 100 times....that's pretty good. As for that £3000 fare adjustment....seems silly to me, but prices of many things are now silly. Glad you didn't have to pay extra. Funny on that Loo Review....accent wall AND female approved toilet seat! Unless you don't flush...ewww. LOL Bummer on the economy from JFK to DEN, but maybe you can get into the Even More Space seats? Those are pretty good. I've been barking at JetBlue to add Mint to DFW routes (only BOS and JFK) and they just laugh at me.. LOL
It always seems strange to me to cross the Atlantic on a narrow body. I fly JB a lot in the States and never have a problem with the website. Maybe the problems are with international flights.
Thanks for the great content Noel! I wish I could travel more. Hope you will make more videos from Norway. You should try the helicopter route from Bodø (BOO) to the Værøy island. The airport there was permanently shut down due to it was dangerous. And Wideroe had a crash there in 1990 (5 souls lost). But helicopters can land.
I'm starting to view your channel more. Sam Chui has enough subscribers, and I sense that no matter how bad the experience, he gives them a glowing view. You seem to be more realistic.
Looks nice. I'll probably never need to know the answer to this because I've never been able to afford business class but just out of curiosity, why would you want all those storage spaces? Aren't they just more places to forget and leave stuff behind?
it's all gimmicky, you don't need them and wouldn't use them. But then the same goes for practically everything, other than just a nice comfortable seat and good service that you'd expect on any business class flight, the rest is just gimmicky nonsense.
I guess they are not providing PJs to Mint Studio guests any longer? That is a shame. You are absolutely right that Jetblue should at least include their even more space seats when connecting from a Mint itinerary if they want to grow their international concept. That said from what I have experienced booking Jetblue, the price typically is $ for Mint flight A to B plus $ for economy price B to C, and that is the price they charge. I think a lot of people still get disappointed to be stuck with very limited benefits after such a great service in Mint.
I flew forth and back between Copenhagen and Kangerlussuaq extremely many times with SAS. 1 of the times just before Christmas they gave me a polar bear in pilots uniform and a stocking filled with candy. Every kid got one. The bear was holding a SAS backpack with everything for kids on a plane. 😊

I think at some point Jet Blue will partner with some airline to give flyers access to an Airline Lounge especially paying that price for flying on them. And I don't mind paying for day passes even if I have a Business or First Class ticket. So wee will see who Jet Blue partners with.
I really enjoyed this review, JetBlue look fantastic to fly with. I loved all the amenities kit & the food looked soo good! Thanks for this one 👏 x
All the issues you described can be addressed (price, lounge access, onward class continuation, etc.) By the looks of it, the fundamentals are all in place to make this airline very succesful. Lord knows, the establishment on the trans Atlantic route needs to be shaken up. Thanks for sharing, Noel.
JetBlue is up and coming.
I find the angle of the seat odd. I adore the BA experience on the A350 as you can sit and stare out of the window with the seat angled to the window - it also adds to your privacy as you do not notice people moving around as they are out of your line of sight - that is my favourite business class these days for that reason
seat angle was fine. dont have to crank tour neck to look out of the window (or windows)
That was the most heartiest welcome from flight attendants that I have ever seen...... wonderful.....
I’m flying JetBlue from JFK to Cartagena Colombia pretty excited about the flight and the experience!
Love your enthusiasm...like a little kid on Christmas day😇😅
No lounge access confuses me.
I guess the cost difference is the premium of flying to NY vs other destinations. Theyre not targeting the Denver market
@@doesitmatter4182 You are special...
But seriously, keep up the good work.👏👍🏻
It’s so annoying , needs to stop it
I didn't really think much about Jet blue before I saw this video. They really look like a comfortable airline to fly.
Looks super nice... but no lounge and also making it difficult to re-schedule a business class flight?
Absolutely stunning shots of the aircraft and outside, in this video Mr Willis.
JetBlue has an amazing onboard product.
An amazing flight experience.
Keep up the good work.
I'm going to need a "could stand here all day playing with that!" on a shirt, Noel!
Another great video Noel. I always look forward to these on a Sunday. Stay safe and happy travels.
Fantastic review. Personally I hate all sunglasses which are shaped that way but you look so cool. Go Noel!
They give you an actually pretty nice set of headphones too. Grado is an audiophile headphone brand from Brooklyn.
My son and I loved this video. We would love to see a loo review t-shirt in your store. I know I'd buy a few. Well done and thank you for the video!
Thanks, I am glad you both enjoyed it.
I'd love to try a JB Mint Suite from JFK-LHR. My last narrow body Trans Atlantic flight was quite a ways back in 1974 on TWA from JFK-ZRH on a 707.
WOW, I guess we've gotten a custom to wide bodies for the transatlantic that we forget the 707 aircraft. Awesome!
That cutting the ice cream with a knife though 😂😂
At least JetBlue's domestic economy has more leg room than others'. It's close to other airlines' business class, and a huge benefit for taller flyers.
Always waiting for the thumb's-up after your first bite of your meal.
😋
The gelato is what i expect aeroplane lasagne would look like
A bit pricey and a shame about the lounge access but seems like a comfortable space. Thanks again Noel
I love watching your films. Only just discovered them. They are so interesting. You love the aeroplane details and I l am interested in the meals. Thank you for spending more time on them and describing them. I am quite envious of your travels!
You should save some of those things in the amenities kits and use them for "stocking gifts" at Christmas.
Great review as always.
I love B6 but they seem to have an identity issue. It's like they want to be a "best-in-class, value, discount, point2point yet international carrier that hubs in several US cities but doesn't have the scale to offer reasonable connection times". I mean c'mon. Pick a lane.
Who else likes Noel’s videos straight away because we already know the content is going to be epic 👍
Not really
@@rossco5409 oh ok we must be different not to worry enjoy your weekend
Seems like a really pleasant travel experience. Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work.
Wow just enough nooks and crannies to put stuff to forget.🤣 Love the stain remover and lint brush.
look noel i love you my boy, but please put the lav where it should go on your shirt i can hear everything. but as said love the vids
($995 for Mint plus $299 x2 for the Studio upgrades.)
The first trip I booked soon after the route first became available.
Safe travels, good sir - carry on 🙏🏼✌🏻
Great job with the video. I have been waiting for a mint review like this
Glad you enjoyed it!
I would guess that as JB adds more service to London (if it grows), then they will have a lounge of their own; I personally use the app for ticketing changes and needs---never a computer or phone.
I'm a huge Jetblue fan and I'm dying to fly this route! Jetblue is a really great option for NY based travelers. Thanks for this video!
Great Philip lovely studio
Describing the selection of live TV channels, all news, as "live depression" - haha, too true. 😂😂
LOL
Bummer on the economy from JFK to DEN, but maybe you can get into the Even More Space seats? Those are pretty good. I've been barking at JetBlue to add Mint to DFW routes (only BOS and JFK) and they just laugh at me.. LOL
It always seems strange to me to cross the Atlantic on a narrow body.
I fly JB a lot in the States and never have a problem with the website. Maybe the problems are with international flights.
If you're taking mint studio you should get lounge access.
Thank you for the kind words!
Very nice video Noel. Really enjoyed it. What a fantastic first class that was especially for a narrow bodied aircraft. 👌👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I missed the Loo Review on the Greyhound Bus from LA to Amarillo, Texas! 🚌
Looks nice. I'll probably never need to know the answer to this because I've never been able to afford business class but just out of curiosity, why would you want all those storage spaces? Aren't they just more places to forget and leave stuff behind?
Generally speaking, people that fly business class have a lot more carry on than economy passengers.
it's all gimmicky, you don't need them and wouldn't use them. But then the same goes for practically everything, other than just a nice comfortable seat and good service that you'd expect on any business class flight, the rest is just gimmicky nonsense.
Looked a relaxed and pleasant flight experience.
Noel your breathing when in the air reminds me that of Darth Vader. May the force be with you
I haven't flown JetBlue yet, but I like it that they've ordered 100 A220's for their Airbus fleet.
Why doesn't the sliding door shut all the way? Is that some sort of security thing?
That green aircraft that was captured during the pushback looked like an MD-11/747 hybrid of some sort, no?
I noticed that also @ 6:51 it looks a bit odd 🤔
Crikey! The most amazing aircraft loo I've ever seen☺️
I've never seen stain remover included in any kit on any other airline around the globe yet to date, awesome flight review as alway's there Noel✈👍
The amenities it’s were excellent. They are usually just basic aren’t they. Looked really comfortable, especially for a fairly small Epson like me.
Pre Flight Meal .got the giggles :-)
