I did grad school in France and for some reason my university paid for American students to go home during the December holidays on this airline. It was during the lockdowns and I was one of three people on the flight. It was the greatest flying experience of my life. Highly recommend this airline. This is crazy. Just last week, I trying to research business class deals for a wedding we need to attend in Paris in late 2024. When you were looking out over the airport at Paris-Orly I couldn't help but think of Charles Lindbergh's arrival at Paris-Le Bourget in 1927. The differences made in 96 years have been incredible and I can only imagine what Lindbergh would have thought of your trip versus his own
We flew them in 2022 and they were fantastic. Great food, service and overall a great experience. It was for my daughter’s sweet 16. We flew them to Paris and flew back from Milan. Both flights were amazing.
FYI the shoulder width on those seats (beds) gets MUCH better if you drop the armrest down :) I fly that exact seat on Philippine Airlines (also on the A321neo) and there's a little button at the front of the armrest that collapses the entire thing down to the level of the bed, so you get far more shoulder width. When you're doing the seat review part of this video, you can see the little silver rectangular button at the front of the armrest. It's very very firm, but, press it, and down she goes!
A321 neos are actually heading in the direction of replacing the 757-200, in my opinion. It’s got almost the same range (but just a bit shorter) as well as its better fuel efficiency. It can make the hop from NYC to various European cities with ease. It’ll be interesting to see what happens to some older aircraft like the 757 and 767 in the next 10-20 years.
I will surely miss the 757... 😭😭, I loved the 757 while planespotting at Newark. Luckily for now. United has a pretty good fleet and Icelandair is keeping htem for 2 or 3 more years.
Consider taking an airlines final score and dividing it by the cost of the ticket so you can rate how much money per star a person would have to pay. Or call a star a 'Jeb' and you could rate an airline by how much money you'd have to pay per 'Jeb'. So the units would be Dollars/Star or Dollars/Jeb. Cost of the ticket divided by the star or Jeb score. That way you can see how many stars out of 25 a person gets and how much money they pay per star.
Great video! Joyeux Noël! Standard-bodies were the norm not too long ago: Boeing 707s, Douglas DC-8, VC-10 with 3-3 seating, while Convair 990A had 3-2 seating (Swissair Zürich-Hong Kong). BOAC VC-10s to Africa often had 2-2 in coach (standard coach seats, very wide aisle) for weight/range reasons. Japan Airlines had 3-2 in coach (standard coach seats, larger aisle) on some of their stretch McDonnell-Douglas DC-8-63s. Viasa Venezuela had alternate rows of 3-2 and 3-3 seating in the cabin of their stretched DC-8-63s. NAC Boeing 737-200s and Continental Airlines 727-100s had 3-2 seating with larger 19" seats (today’s “premium economy” equivalence). Braniff lead the way with fold-down middle seats so 3-3 becomes 2-2 seating in coach. Today’s coach seats are not only slimmer, but the seat cushion front-to-back length has been reduced by one inch to give the illusion of leg room. Contrary to general misconceptions, the width of the coach seats are about the same (Airbus 18" vs Boeing 17.2" a separate discussion), but the width of the armrests had been reduced by 1/3 to give the illusion of wider space. And finally, Orly was the gateway to/from Paris for many decades, and the open-air terrace was a treat - standard in those days. Thanks for your great travels,

Airline profit margins from flying is in the single digits. Airlines will gladly increase the J cabin size if there is demand for it. LC operates one flight on Dec 28 from Paris to EWR. The other 18 flights that day have a mixture of Y, PE, J and F.

Great review. The thing I don’t like about single aisle trans Atlantic is limited aisle access. You always have to climb over someone to get out of your seat.
You don’t have to. American installed its business class seats in a 1-1 configuration on its A321Ts operating domestically as First, but they could install more of them (and less 2-2 business) and fly to Europe. JetBlue has herringbone seats with all aisle access, as already mentioned. More coming!
While TWA may have been the first, I think it’s fair to say the Continental pioneered trans-Atlantic, narrow-body flights. The airline covered many smaller airports (BRS, BFS, STN for four months, CPH, etc.) with a fleet of 42 B752s. Now 39 of those B752s continue with United. I think that once United gets its A321s, I expect to see United blanket Europe from EWR, IAD and ORD. I think that airports such as ORK, DUS, MAN, HAM, LYS, BHX, TLS, STR, HAJ, GLA, NCL, NTE, BFS, SVQ would be good targets.

Gday Jeb another great video from you both thanks. Interesting you talk about narrow bodies booming on some medium haul routes as a 787 Captain id say many reviewers dont discuss some of the single isle issues. You immediately found the space issue aircraft like the 321 of which i have several thousand hours on lacks space even in a 2x2 configuration something no wide body suffers from. Lets start on operational stuff say with flight time, the 787 cruises at Mach.85 to .86 a TAS of 495kts about 70-80kts faster at a minimum than the 321 so on a 3200nm flight the 787 is an hour faster if not more. The 787 cruises on that same flight 10000-13000 higher so far above jet stream boundaries providing a FAR more comfortable ride and generally further above the jetstream increasing the speed differential. The extra weight of a widebody itself generates a smoother ride then throw in the larger wing in turbulence working far better at damping bumps and you get the picture. The 787 has no fuel limits but the A321 is at the edge of its range meaning more diversions, more offloaded pax when weather is either bad or turns bad en route or worse cancelled. This fuel issue is something few people know about until they are offloaded, flight delayed or cancelled. You obviously are an aerofile so im sure you have a good grasp on just some of the limits im talking about here that are unknowns to most other travel reviewers. I spent 14 years flying A320 family and can remember many uncomfortable flights in the A321 to Singapore in the middle of the weather dodging storms in the tropics that in my 787 would be an almost non issue at 39-43 thousand feet. With airports rapidly approaching capacity and some already beyond with extensive holding as more aircraft compete for fewer slots just how long will smaller aircraft be allowed to occupy slots? Anyway love your travel videos keep them coming!
Newark is a let down plus that price with those dated business class seats I think the price point is a little high , no aile access and a 8 plus hour flight
Any reason for safety concerns? Background of crew, maintenance team and schedule, etc? Major carriers have a lot of layers involved that can serve as a check, and then the labor and their unions provide another layer of risk mitigation even if that's not their primary purpose.

Honestly not bad if your planning a full European trip. All business class that basically drops you in the heart of Europe where you can take high speed rail to a city of your choosing. And probably still save some money over going with the majors.
What's crazy is I've done this exact flight almost but in reverse from Atlanta to Paris. And they ran out of normal seats so we got a free upgrade to business class. These exact seats. Very nice
When I flew my one flight on an A380 Premium Economy on BA from LHR to BOS, I didn't want it to end. If I'm spending the $$$ for business class, take all the time you want to fly...
took a chance & tried this airline last yr! like jeb was VERY plzd & highly recommend! everything was great & i understand they now have a lounge at newark. in fact the only negative on the trip had nothing to do w/ the airline but the airport hotel we stayed at the night before leaving. unbelievably had our hand luggage sitting next to us stolen while checking out at the front desk of the ibis Paris Coeur d Orly Airport when we let our guard down for
If you recall, many airlines, even those flying widebody jets, used to have the 2-2-2 seating in business class. I am a solo traveler and I avoid planes that offer that configuration. There are still a few out there (some LOT and Turkish flights). But I won't book one that doesn't have a solo seat. As a result, I probably would feel uncomfortable with a "seat-mate" for the entire flight, especially if trying to sleep. I do like the concept but maybe with a different seat configuration it would be worth checking out.
Great video Jeb! I can’t wait to try La Compagnie someday soon! It is disappointing that they only have a fleet of 2 Airbus A321neo LR (Only the Long Range variant with XLR on order)aircraft now a days and I’d have definitely preferred the Ferrari of the Skies that being the B757! However, the 76 seat capacity of your A321neo is VERY RARE and lightly filled for an A321neo... For example like you mentioned, Wizzair 🇭🇺 packs in 239 passengers be it all in Economy in their A321 (same as A321neo) and Mexican ultra low cost carrier Volaris 🇲🇽 fills their A321neo with 249 passengers!! THE DENSEST A321 that there is! Such a great video regardless still and their ALL Biz Class looks pretty sweet too! I can’t wait to see them grow their fleets and expand their reach! However flying out of Paris Orly Airport is definitely a loss over CDG! ORY is a disorganized mess and a HORRIBLY DESIGNED AIRPORT! 😂 Not the French model of efficiency and a well designed plan that I’d expect of French Airports like CDG! 😅Also Prime Class is a Turkish 🇹🇷 Lounge Company and they operate a lounge at IAD so I don’t understand why La Compagnie doesn’t opt to use the Prime Class Lounge at IAD if they’re already a partner because they used to fly to Dulles and may return someday too…🤔 Also I think the future of narrow body jets like the A321LR of La Compagnie and upcoming A321XLR will only continue to increase with Aer Lingus, SAS, JetBlue and soon to be Icelandair 🇮🇸 flying A321XLR to replace their veteran B757-300s Also even the B757-200 and B737 MAX series flying transatlantic will only improve. The fares are actually not much lower, if at all, versus standard business class seats on other carriers. Nice idea but reality doesn't match the marketing. Would rather book on a standard carrier for a better experience.
My t rick has always been to book Economy "Plus" with some airlines (ones that I have a high status with, such as United) and get bumped up (or auto upgraded) to business. While I cannot always choose this option, sometimes I have gotten it for "free" with a regular paid Economy Plus ticket (one that was maybe $300). Lucked out one time and got business for an 8 hour flight overseas which was amazing, but most of the "Free" business class tickets I've gotten have been for shorter flights (2-4 hours).
How nice to be in Paris during the holidays. The breakfast looked delicious in the lounge. The food on the plane was perfection. Tighter compartment then some but I think for the price it is definitely worth it.
I used to love BA’s Openskies EWR-ORY flight. Back then, even when I didn’t have global entry, you’d pass security at EWR in less than 15 minutes and ORY was an ease.
Same style of seats as the last generation of Continental's BusinessFirst seats. Having the window seat is quite the ballerina act like Jeb mentioned and I angered my neighbor on SYD-IAH because of a slight misstep that caused me to trip into his knees which were jutting out into the aisle. 😅
I've not heard of a "business class only" airline before, so thanks for sharing this experience. This gives me something to really consider. Merry Christmas to you two.
there were a few: titan, silverjet, maxjet, alkhayyala but they all failed. even some mainline carriers like: british airways, Lufthansa, swiss and air France dabbled with some all business class service flights in the past 15 years, but still gave up despite the good customer response.

We are heading to Portugal. We book with BA fly PE for $1500 and that is RT. Non stop from TPA to LGW. After booking we can up grade to full business class for a total of $3,000. So I went to check your flight and was amazed at the price. I then realized I left my filter on One Way. Switched to RT and the price came up as the same as BA biza class. We would also have to make our way to Newark which would be an additional cost.

Jet travel started with the Boeing, 707 so it doesn’t surprise me if aviation goes back to single aisles on shorter routes ! Also more economical fuel wise I believe !✈️
The future of Trans-Atlantic is even smaller if you ask me... The A220-100 can use 1524m/5000' runways yet can fly as far as 6300 km/3780 mi which is more than enough for MOST Trans-Atlantic routes... And for those that need a refueling, Iceland and Greenland are increasingly opening up their nations/airlines to being a free stop over/ Mid-Atlantic refueling point destination model... Nuuk runway expansion to 7200' which will allow most jets to use it opens in late November 2024 so Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq are both to be abandoned over the next year or so especially when Qaqortoq Airport opens in the very south in 2025 as well... Personally these are the kinds of tourist trips I want to take... Canada to Europe vs Greenland or Iceland...

Envious as hell as there simply are no competitors operating 8 + hour flights out of Australia at the quoted ticker range mentioned..... and that only gets us to Singapore and then 12+ hours to Paris. That is a tyranny of distance, but like you both, we love flying to places like Paris, even when it looks cold and wet. Please do not slow down, vicarious travel with you two is a great pastime. I don’t like the idea of trans Atlantic narrow body flights at all. I will always fly widebody planes across the Atlantic. Just like I only fly widebody planes to Hawaii.

Yes, to me, the attraction is that there are only 75 all Business Class seat! That is very nice having less people onboard for this crossing over the Atlantic. I still like the wide-body aircraft flying over oceans in general!! But I do see a lot of travels Taking other narrow body aircraft. I see JetBlue has their nice First Class or Business Class seats in their Mist Class! And yes, I remember the small British Airways Airbus 318 all Business Class aircraft!! That was nice flying into downtown London cutting that long traffic drive to and from Heathrow Airport. They had a US custom in Shannon coming back to the US. But overall, I am glad you two like this service.😊

If we compare narrowbody with widebody let's say in coach the experience is similarly bad, however the spaciousness of the widebody makes it tolerable. The opposite happens in the narrowbody where any trip above 3-4 hours would be very tiresome. In business class, again the service may be similar on both types of aircraft but the spaciousness of the widebody still wins. The main reason the airlines started using A321s for longhaul is because they usually have them available and is easy for them to try routes for a season without making large investments on new widebosied aircraft that can only be used for longhaul.
Honestly, Transatlantic is no big deal if it's the Northeast US to western Europe. It's barely longer to go from SF to BOS than it is to go from BOS to LHR. That being said, I want widebodies for longer trips. Or, at least, Premium Economy or something like this all business class...
Surprised the menu was so limited with the main course being cod or lamb. I can see this being a turnoff from some American customers who are not into duck, lamb, or cod. With AA, you have a large selection of meals if you decide to pre-order.
We took a Southwest from Las Vegas to Hawaii (points and companion pass). I'd rather not ever take a single-aisle on a long flight again, at least in economy. Thanks as always for your gratitude!
Orly has a massive catchment area for Paris South and is the major domestic hub serving a wider range of feeder flights from the main airports like TLS, NCE, BOD, MRS, TLN but also the smaller cities. This has always made it an attractive airport for long haul flights including the world's longest domestic long haul operations. I think I would prefer Jet Blue Mint to this product. When there are two or more classes of cabin on board the business class is treated better than the economy cabin. A preferential service which lacks on this single cabin. If you look back to British Midland's Diamond Service (all business class UK-Europe) although the service was far better than the average economy cabin of say BA or KLM on the AMS route, it was not the same feeling as being a "proper" business class traveller. I also think the 1-2-1 configuration and space offered by wide bodied planes cannot be beaten and a 1-1 layout on the A321-neo would not be financially viable.... so it's a thumbs down for me.
Two things come to mind. One - no, it doesn't always rain in Paris. Two - Orly airport has been in use for many years. It served as the primary airport for Paris before Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport was built. I remember flying from London Heathrow to Orly and then being bussed from Orly across Paris to Le Bourget for the Paris Air Show in the mid 1970s.

Great review. The thing I don’t like about single aisle trans Atlantic is limited aisle access. You always have to climb over someone to get out of your seat.
Might be worth checking out JetBlue! We haven’t tried it across the Atlantic yet.
You don’t have to. American installed its business class seats in a 1-1 configuration on its A321Ts operating domestically as First, but they could install more of them (and less 2-2 business) and fly to Europe. JetBlue has herringbone seats with all aisle access, as already mentioned. More coming!
The same applies to a wide body aircraft, so I am not sure what your point is.
While TWA may have been the first, I think it’s fair to say the Continental pioneered trans-Atlantic, narrow-body flights. The airline covered many smaller airports (BRS, BFS, STN for four months, CPH, etc.) with a fleet of 42 B752s. Now 39 of those B752s continue with United.
I think that once United gets its A321s, I expect to see United blanket Europe from EWR, IAD and ORD. I think that airports such as ORK, DUS, MAN, HAM, LYS, BHX, TLS, STR, HAJ, GLA, NCL, NTE, BFS, SVQ would be good targets.

Interesting you talk about narrow bodies booming on some medium haul routes as a 787 Captain id say many reviewers dont discuss some of the single isle issues.
You immediately found the space issue aircraft like the 321 of which i have several thousand hours on lacks space even in a 2x2 configuration something no wide body suffers from.
Lets start on operational stuff say with flight time, the 787 cruises at Mach.85 to .86 a TAS of 495kts about 70-80kts faster at a minimum than the 321 so on a 3200nm flight the 787 is an hour faster if not more.
The 787 cruises on that same flight 10000-13000 higher so far above jet stream boundaries providing a FAR more comfortable ride and generally further above the jetstream increasing the speed differential.
The extra weight of a widebody itself generates a smoother ride then throw in the larger wing in turbulence working far better at damping bumps and you get the picture.
The 787 has no fuel limits but the A321 is at the edge of its range meaning more diversions, more offloaded pax when weather is either bad or turns bad en route or worse cancelled. This fuel issue is something few people know about until they are offloaded, flight delayed or cancelled.
You obviously are an aerofile so im sure you have a good grasp on just some of the limits im talking about here that are unknowns to most other travel reviewers.
I spent 14 years flying A320 family and can remember many uncomfortable flights in the A321 to Singapore in the middle of the weather dodging storms in the tropics that in my 787 would be an almost non issue at 39-43 thousand feet.
With airports rapidly approaching capacity and some already beyond with extensive holding as more aircraft compete for fewer slots just how long will smaller aircraft be allowed to occupy slots?

Newark is a let down plus that price with those dated business class seats I think the price point is a little high , no aile access and a 8 plus hour flight
Any reason for safety concerns? Background of crew, maintenance team and schedule, etc? Major carriers have a lot of layers involved that can serve as a check, and then the labor and their unions provide another layer of risk mitigation even if that's not their primary purpose.

Honestly not bad if your planning a full European trip. All business class that basically drops you in the heart of Europe where you can take high speed rail to a city of your choosing. And probably still save some money over going with the majors.

What's crazy is I've done this exact flight almost but in reverse from Atlanta to Paris. And they ran out of normal seats so we got a free upgrade to business class. These exact seats. Very nice

took a chance & tried this airline last yr! like jeb was VERY plzd & highly recommend! everything was great & i understand they now have a lounge at newark. in fact the only negative on the trip had nothing to do w/ the airline but the airport hotel we stayed at the night before leaving. unbelievably had our hand luggage sitting next to us stolen while checking out at the front desk of the ibis Paris Coeur d Orly Airport when we let our guard down for
Considering we've seen 757s work hard on transatlantic, I suspect these A321 NEOs/LRs/and XLRs will become quite common place!

If you recall, many airlines, even those flying widebody jets, used to have the 2-2-2 seating in business class. I am a solo traveler and I avoid planes that offer that configuration. There are still a few out there (some LOT and Turkish flights). But I won't book one that doesn't have a solo seat. As a result, I probably would feel uncomfortable with a "seat-mate" for the entire flight, especially if trying to sleep. I do like the concept but maybe with a different seat configuration it would be worth checking out.
Great video Jeb! I can’t wait to try La Compagnie someday soon! It is disappointing that they only have a fleet of 2 Airbus A321neo LR (Only the Long Range variant with XLR on order)aircraft now a days and I’d have definitely preferred the Ferrari of the Skies that being the B757! However, the 76 seat capacity of your A321neo is VERY RARE and lightly filled for an A321neo... For example like you mentioned, Wizzair 🇭🇺 packs in 239 passengers be it all in Economy in their A321 (same as A321neo) and Mexican ultra low cost carrier Volaris 🇲🇽 fills their A321neo with 249 passengers!! THE DENSEST A321 that there is!
Such a great video regardless still and their ALL Biz Class looks pretty sweet too! I can’t wait to see them grow their fleets and expand their reach! However flying out of Paris Orly Airport is definitely a loss over CDG! ORY is a disorganized mess and a HORRIBLY DESIGNED AIRPORT! 😂 Not the French model of efficiency and a well designed plan that I’d expect of French Airports like CDG! 😅Also Prime Class is a Turkish 🇹🇷 Lounge Company and they operate a lounge at IAD so I don’t understand why La Compagnie doesn’t opt to use the Prime Class Lounge at IAD if they’re already a partner because they used to fly to Dulles and may return someday too…🤔 Also I think the future of narrow body jets like the A321LR of La Compagnie and upcoming A321XLR will only continue to increase with Aer Lingus, SAS, JetBlue and soon to be Icelandair 🇮🇸 flying A321XLR to replace their veteran B757-300s Also even the B757-200 and B737 MAX series flying transatlantic will only improve. If only Boeing would build a 797 to truly replace the 757-300 and compete with the A321XLR!

The fares are actually not much lower, if at all, versus standard business class seats on other carriers. Nice idea but reality doesn't match the marketing. Would rather book on a standard carrier for a better experience.

My t rick has always been to book Economy "Plus" with some airlines (ones that I have a high status with, such as United) and get bumped up (or auto upgraded) to business. While I cannot always choose this option, sometimes I have gotten it for "free" with a regular paid Economy Plus ticket (one that was maybe $300). Lucked out one time and got business for an 8 hour flight overseas which was amazing, but most of the "Free" business class tickets I've gotten have been for shorter flights (2-4 hours).
This is how every single flight should be. The layout, comfort and service is great. Another awsome video.
How nice to be in Paris during the holidays. The breakfast looked delicious in the lounge. The food on the plane was perfection. Tighter compartment then some but I think for the price it is definitely worth it.
I used to love BA’s Openskies EWR-ORY flight. Back then, even when I didn’t have global entry, you’d pass security at EWR in less than 15 minutes and ORY was an ease.
Same style of seats as the last generation of Continental's BusinessFirst seats. Having the window seat is quite the ballerina act like Jeb mentioned and I angered my neighbor on SYD-IAH because of a slight misstep that caused me to trip into his knees which were jutting out into the aisle. 😅
I've not heard of a "business class only" airline before, so thanks for sharing this experience. This gives me something to really consider. Merry Christmas to you two.
there were a few: titan, silverjet, maxjet, alkhayyala but they all failed. even some mainline carriers like: british airways, Lufthansa, swiss and air France dabbled with some all business class service flights in the past 15 years, but still gave up despite the good customer response.
What a small world I just watched this video a few days ago as I love La Compagnie and I use it as much as I can to fly to Paris and to bump into you at the Emeryville Amtrak station. We are heading to Portugal. We book with BA fly PE for $1500 and that is RT. Non stop from TPA to LGW. After booking we can up grade to full business class for a total of $3,000. So I went to check your flight and was amazed at the price. I then realized I left my filter on One Way. Switched to RT and the price came up as the same as BA biza class. We would also have to make our way to Newark which would be an additional cost.
BA has a horrible business class layout and service, so that has to be considered.
We only just started flying PE and only see BC from walking passed after they are all asleep

Jet travel started with the Boeing, 707 so it doesn’t surprise me if aviation goes back to single aisles on shorter routes ! Also more economical fuel wise I believe !✈️
The future of Trans-Atlantic is even smaller if you ask me... The A220-100 can use 1524m/5000' runways yet can fly as far as 6300 km/3780 mi which is more than enough for MOST Trans-Atlantic routes... And for those that need a refueling, Iceland and Greenland are increasingly opening up their nations/airlines to being a free stop over/ Mid-Atlantic refueling point destination model... Nuuk runway expansion to 7200' which will allow most jets to use it opens in late November 2024 so Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq are both to be abandoned over the next year or so especially when Qaqortoq Airport opens in the very south in 2025 as well... Personally these are the kinds of tourist trips I want to take... Canada to Europe vs Greenland or Iceland...

Envious as hell as there simply are no competitors operating 8 + hour flights out of Australia at the quoted ticker range mentioned..... and that only gets us to Singapore and then 12+ hours to Paris. That is a tyranny of distance, but like you both, we love flying to places like Paris, even when it looks cold and wet. Please do not slow down, vicarious travel with you two is a great pastime. I don’t like the idea of trans Atlantic narrow body flights at all. I will always fly widebody planes across the Atlantic. Just like I only fly widebody planes to Hawaii.
PanAm and TWA flew single aisle 707 jets for years.

Yes, to me, the attraction is that there are only 75 all Business Class seat! That is very nice having less people onboard for this crossing over the Atlantic. I still like the wide-body aircraft flying over oceans in general!! But I do see a lot of travels Taking other narrow body aircraft. I see JetBlue has their nice First Class or Business Class seats in their Mist Class! And yes, I remember the small British Airways Airbus 318 all Business Class aircraft!! That was nice flying into downtown London cutting that long traffic drive to and from Heathrow Airport. They had a US custom in Shannon coming back to the US. But overall, I am glad you two like this service.😊

If we compare narrowbody with widebody let's say in coach the experience is similarly bad, however the spaciousness of the widebody makes it tolerable. The opposite happens in the narrowbody where any trip above 3-4 hours would be very tiresome. In business class, again the service may be similar on both types of aircraft but the spaciousness of the widebody still wins. The main reason the airlines started using A321s for longhaul is because they usually have them available and is easy for them to try routes for a season without making large investments on new widebosied aircraft that can only be used for longhaul.

Honestly, Transatlantic is no big deal if it's the Northeast US to western Europe. It's barely longer to go from SF to BOS than it is to go from BOS to LHR. That being said, I want widebodies for longer trips. Or, at least, Premium Economy or something like this all business class...
Surprised the menu was so limited with the main course being cod or lamb. I can see this being a turnoff from some American customers who are not into duck, lamb, or cod. With AA, you have a large selection of meals if you decide to pre-order.

We took a Southwest from Las Vegas to Hawaii (points and companion pass). I'd rather not ever take a single-aisle on a long flight again, at least in economy.

You should try French Bee between the US and Paris Orly, and remain in Economy....
Orly has a massive catchment area for Paris South and is the major domestic hub serving a wider range of feeder flights from the main airports like TLS, NCE, BOD, MRS, TLN but also the smaller cities. This has always made it an attractive airport for long haul flights including the world's longest domestic long haul operations. I think I would prefer Jet Blue Mint to this product. When there are two or more classes of cabin on board the business class is treated better than the economy cabin. A preferential service which lacks on this single cabin. If you look back to British Midland's Diamond Service (all business class UK-Europe) although the service was far better than the average economy cabin of say BA or KLM on the AMS route, it was not the same feeling as being a "proper" business class traveller. I also think the 1-2-1 configuration and space offered by wide bodied planes cannot be beaten and a 1-1 layout on the A321-neo would not be financially viable.... so it's a thumbs down for me.
IMO the whole experience is cheapened by having the meal "on one tray". It would be much more premium to split it into proper courses.

Two things come to mind. One - no, it doesn't always rain in Paris. Two - Orly airport has been in use for many years. It served as the primary airport for Paris before Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport was built. I remember flying from London Heathrow to Orly and then being bussed from Orly across Paris to Le Bourget for the Paris Air Show in the mid 1970s.
