  • 2025 C8 Vette ZR-1 has crazy competition!! Will it meet the occasion or will the SF90 and 296 GTB catch another body, like they did to the Revuelto??

The turbo s Trick is the all wheel drive rear engine setup that launchss like a champ 10/10 times in a row.
However, if you'd looked up the curb weight of the 765LT it's gonna be Significantly lighter and it's powertrain is putting far more hp at the rear wheels then the Turbo S all wheel drive layout.
The Corvette boyz are claiming sub 10 second 1/4 runs being turned out no problem in testing so far.
That is going to be good enough if true to smack down any Turbo S 1/4 times I have seen.
911 Turbo S is a Consistent 10 second flat car. The 765 LT although has really been all over the place it can break into the 9's as well as the ZR-1 claims to be doing.
I'm thinking high to mid 9's on prepped surfaces , but low to mid 10's at the intersection.
Should be intresting to see how this all plays out when she hits the streets.
I also think the corvette is gonna start just below the Turbo S starting price , but of course these leeches at the dealerships are going to be market adjusting them to death over the first 6 months to a year.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a Top trim level ZR-1 with carbon wheels and the track package 100 to 200k Over msrp With the first few cars hit the Dealers, id idiots are gonna be buying them At those prices

@@TheUnknowncaller12 depending on where the 1/4 mile runs are done matters too, same as for the Demon170.
Believe it or not, quickest stock McLaren 765LT 1/4 mile time is even deeper into the 9s vs an SF90. SF90 being WAAAY quicker than a Turbo S! Prep or no prep. SF90 runs high 9s on no prep back to back to back.
I think with prep, this ZR-1 is easily a mid 9s car at nearly 900RWHP from factory. I kinda wanna see how it stacks up vs Twin Turbo Stingrays and Twin turbo E-Rays.

@@TheUnknowncaller12 oh yea and for sure, you already know fools are gonna pay 200k over for this ZR-1. My thinking is if you can pay that for the new Hummer and the Dodge Flop170 or Black Ghost, you can pay $200k over for this. The performance from the ZR-1 is so crazy, the markups will almost be justified… ALMOST.

Henneesy has a few cars that put down that kind of power Like the Exorcist. Granted It's a heavily modified ZL-1 Camero , but it's still well under 1,000,000.
The Demon 170 puts down over 1,000 HP for right around 100 grand MSRP.
Now people can say, oh, that's not pump gas. Where do you get E-85 at? Well, it's a pump at the gas station LOL , That's the definition of pump gas lol.
Pretty much all of our gasoline These days has ethanol in it , So even 93 octane is not what it was 20 years ago when it was straight gasoline.
The bottom line Just because the car can run down ferrari , Lamborghini , And porsche supercars Doesn't mean they're going to change the msrp for the car.
The market dictates the price , People stupid enough to pay 100 to 200k Over asking price Are the ones that are screwing it up for everyone else.
I think it sucks when You find an edit for a car that you like oddly or on your phone and you go to check it out, and you find out once you get there, that there's a market adjustment on it that wasn't advertised online.
But we've got to look at it from the dealer's perspective. They're getting these cars wholesale Probably making 10% or 15% percent profit selliing at MSRP.
If you owed a dealership and you could literally turn that 15% into a 100% or 200% profit over what U paid for it wholesale , and not only that , but People would be chopping at the bit to get An allocation at 200k over MSRP ,
You're going to settle right into that mindset.
It sucks, but I see why they do it. They're Trying to feed their family and every other family for that matter That is a part of that dealership team.

@@TheUnknowncaller12 thanks for actually naming some cars that make this kinda power on pump gas for less than a million. Also thank you for interacting and commenting about multiple aspects of the video. I appreciate it a lot!!
But yeah I get your point, bc the money is right there for the taking. If you’re a dealer and you know the top spec ZR-1s are coming in at $250k, and are HIGHLY sought after cars that perform like $500k-$700k factory supercars as well as highly modified sports and supercars, you’re not just gonna charge MSRP. The deal is too sweet to turn down, especially if you can feed your family, keep doors open, feed the salesmen’s family multiple times over, and still retain a customer base bc they’ve come to accept markup abuse.

@@BarryWMedinaMusic GTB is a beast!! ZR-1 already is faster than the SF90 technically. Even with the ZTK package GM rated the top speed at 215+ mph while the SF90 is 211mph. Initial acceleration is going to the SF90 but on a track?? ZR-1 might do the SF90 the same way the 765LT did it, but even worse.

Also the Corvette enthusiast , the all American V-8 guy certainly isn't feeling alienated by Corvette's decision to finally build the Zora mid-engine Corvette that Chevy brought to the Detroit Auto show many decades ago.
The bottom line is you only have 2 choices these days for a V-8 American sports car or Sports sedan. The Vette or the Blackwing.
So You hear people Crying in the comment section About corvette's direction they are fools.
My father owned a C4 1991 ZR-1it had a Remarkable engine For the time period but that interior , good god These people don't know Good they have it.
Yea So the styling is over the top , So the interior is a little busy and That steering wheel, don't even get me started on it.
But I'll tell you this the C6 Vette has become a much more well rounded machine then anyone of it's Previous generations.
That fact is uncontestable. So Only fools would think of ways to not purchase this Vette generation.
It might be the last Purely V8 powered sports car America ever produces.

Corvette is loosing its customer base, good performance, reasonable cost, compensated by volume. For their good I hope there’s enough customers in that new niche when the hype passes, because I am priced out.

@@javierpereira7580 sad way to look at it, but unfortunately the most accurate based on what we’ve seen. Not to mention that GM gave out all the details on this beast except the barrier to entry. It’s like they want to give out as much specs as possible to justify a nonsensical Corvette price on the horizon.
We’ll see. Hopefully I’m wrong and it’s actually “affordable” for the average ZR-1 owner that is. But with more hp than a Bugatti Veyron, the weight of a Mustang, and being able to breach 207mph easier than an SF90 Ferrari (even with the ZTK high downforce package equipped)… I can’t really see one unit leaving the dealership for less than $390k

@@AYO_KO people who buys 200K+ cars buys them for reasons where the performance is just one variable but not the decider factor. I don’t think Corvette has some of them yet and the volume is way lower compared to what usually Corvettes sells. I believe, we, the previous Corvette’s customer base, bought them for exactly the opposite reason, because we appreciate the reliability, the fantastic machines and the great value they are and because we do not care much about those other factors that the high prestige brands buyers care about. We’ll see, time will tell if this was the right move for GM, although not being the right one for some of us.

@@septopus3516 fair. But that only remains true for stock vs stock. Now most guys wouldn’t dare get under the hood of a Ferrari, but when’s the last time you’ve seen a bone stock C6 or C7?? C8s are getting boosted more and more day by day. Performance wise, most cars actually can’t keep up with corvettes, bc corvette owners won’t leave them stock. So performance wise, Corvette clears Ferrari with ease. Bc no one said you can’t mod the Ferrari, people just don’t.
