Also, I hope GM builds as many ZR1 as there is demand for them. Exotic car buyers have a lot of money but, they just don't want to deal with ridiculous dealer games especially at a domestic dealership, this is what's killing Porsche for the real enthusiasts who just want to be able to simply walk in to the dealership and order their car. If GM fulfills all the demand for the ZR1 without limiting production then ZR1 will bring in a lot of Exotic car owners to their brand.

This is the car that I hoped the new Z06 would be - NA and FPC. I remember being on the forums when the overwhelming opinion is that GM would never build another NA Z because it would have less TQ than the C7Z, and anyone wanting otherwise is kidding themselves. Boy am I glad those dudes were wrong. And I'll be putting my money where my mouth is and buying one next year for my birthday. Can't wait!

The ZR1 is an astonishing marvel that GM basically can say F you to every Supercar or Hypercar manufacturer out there BUT here is the question we all need to answer for ourselves and i already know the answer! When does the HP become overkill or just unnecessary?! I personally would rather take the Z06 and be more than happy! The ZR1 is just something for the person that just doesnt give an F and can throw down $300k for a car but the Z06 is already. More than enough to decimate most other performance cars on the road today! Make your choice America!!!
Thanks Dave. I like to take weekend trips and can’t give up the frunk space. Also, not sure if want to spend the extra cash demanded by the ZR1. I think i will keep my 2 month old Z06 and love the ZR1 from a distance. BTW, the throttle house chart is very telling of how great the Z06 is, I have never seen that. Thanks for sharing. Cheers

It wasn’t reverse engineered from a 458 engine though. They took one apart to see how Ferrari dealt with vibration. Chevy actually didn’t like any of the engineering choices Ferrari made and did their own version.
At least in Canada Z06 prices are dropping fast. Used to be like 280K for top of the line one, now under 200K and even some 160K CAD. If ZR1 is more expensive than Z06 was like 250K+ it will not be worth it in general unless you can use that much power. Also at the end of the day there is nothing like NA car. Zora will probably be the car to get so you actually can use all the power.

A 2025 loaded z06 convertible with z07 package is now 187k. Can reach into the 190k+ with museum delivery and such. Id say a highly spec zr1 will 240k+/- before dealer markup… 300k. A relative bargain when comparing specs to other supercars but certainly not cheap.
I’m torn because I love our cars . That being said I know they have killed it at the track it’s hard to turn down 1000 factory ponies even if you lose some of the sound.
@@Brandonsgarages I think stock, you lose the sound. But we didn’t leave our Z06 exhaust stock when everyone said it was perfect stock lol the ZR1 with downpipe cat deletes and straight pipe exhaust will sound exactly like our Z06s but with the turbo whistle and be a flame throwing machine
@@JerryCecco Unless something changes that will probably hold true. Especially with the plans for more future EV/hybrid models to come. I’m ok with the lower torque numbers and the HP higher in the power band. I have enough issues with traction as it is. Thank you for watching and commenting
@@PuffZ06 WOW that's not good that only 460tq breaks rear tires lose. I run about 30+ HPDE days a year, losing rear traction on a HPDE track is a pretty big and unsafe deal
This video and a lot of your comments make no sense. No one has driven the ZR1 to compare it to the Z06. Ferrari buyers seem to be more respectful of their brand because I don't remember anyone trying to make the 458 Italia out to be a better value than the La Ferrari.
@@keemerbecks3941 I agree in most ways it’s going to be a better car….. but I do believe the Z06 will remain that “special car” due to the LT6 and performance per dollar. The Ferrari 458 is still regarded as one of the best Ferraris ever made and much of it is due to that glorious N.A. engine and the performance. I look back on the C6 Z06 as well and how good that car still is today and can’t help but believe the C8 Z06 will keep that special something even after the ZR1 hits the streets.

I really feel the Z06 will settle nicely into the legacy of the Corvette line up much like the 458 did for Ferrari and remain something special for a long LONG time. @@JerryCecco engine torque doesn’t matter as much as gearing. It still lights up the tires easy. And I lose traction all the time on hard 2-3 shifts
