Some i graft onto. Others I will plant and let them grow. They will eventually become producing trees, but if you graft them they usually make fruit faster
What were you growing? I would try a soil that has no organic products in it. I would try growing it in peat moss and perlite, or in decomposed granite
@@AJTheGraftMan was growing several things in separate pots. Fig cuttings, okra, mango seeds, to name a few. I used a mixture of pete moss, manure, organic potting mix- so yes it did have organic matter. My husband has purchased 2 huge bags of dg & pete moss after you recommended in a previous video-but will have to wait till it gets cooler to grow anything. 105F today. In same zone as you. Look fwd to a video from you that shows which soil mix to use for which type of trees/plants. Could not find perlite yet.
2 questions. When I cover with plastic, sometimes I get mold. What's the issue? Drainage? Should the plastic be airtight? Also, growing fruit trees from seed, many plants won't produce tasty fruits. Is grafting the only way?
It might be the soil you’re using. If you use a mineral based soil with no organic material in it, there shouldn’t be mold. I think there are lots of benefits to growing trees from seed. I’ve done a few videos about that on my channel.
@@AJTheGraftMan thank you so very much I have been trying to grow some here for a couple of years in deep south texas but no channel has the info that you do so again thank you and God bless
AJ, no trolling or hate on this comment. But take care of your health, as it is clear you have put some weight. As always thanks for another great video
Nothing beats food forest but this is one of your best yet
Thanks!
Always learning didn't know you had to take the seed out of the husk. Obrigado meu irmão Aj.

Thanks! Welcome! I Appreciate your kind words :)
Thank you for the information it was very helpful! 😊
Thanks for watching 😀
Thank you for teaching us about growing fruit trees. How do you use your seedlings? Do you need to graft them or they grow into a producing tree?

What do you use to write on the black pots? I've used tags with permanent marker but it's not very permanent. Is it just chalk?
I believe it’s called a China Marker
Waiting for that soil
Probably a silly question, but do I put a few tiny holes in the plastic film? Love from England 🇬🇧.
Good question. The answer is no. Thanks!
@@AJTheGraftMan... Thank you. 💙

What do you with the fungus issue, all of mine had something white on it and died after sprouting nicely.

It will take 3 to 4 years to get fruits if plant grown by seeds..
And where do you think grafted trees come from?

Yes thank you for your concern. I am working on it. During the pandemic I stopped exercising. Now I am back to regular exercise
