Wowsa 🎉 Scott you got some beautiful pieces at your local thrift stores 🎉I loved absolutely everything 💙blue dish with underpants opps I meant under plate was my favorite 😅
I bought a high chair similar to the one you bought….( purchased it in the early 2000’s for $100.00) and had 5 grandchildren use it through all the holidays…..I still have it…waiting for the next generation…..oldest are in High School now…..💕
Scott, I too would have bought that high chair! I love oak furniture. 40 years ago I was given a oak table, claws feet of course, the extenders, and 4-5 chairs. We called a furniture restorer and he offered us a thousand dollars for it as it was. We instead had him restore it and I think he did it with love and dedication to quality. Now 40 years later we have the table and the sideboard I didn’t mention. The chairs with the caned seats were enjoyed and destroyed by grandkids who stood on them. Now comes the great part….my 35 year old grandson wants it when I don’t need it!
Delighted to see that high chair added to your cache! It would indeed serve you well as a plant stand in the kitchen or as a roost for a doll or figure during the holidays (poinsettia or Santa?). My aunt kept a formal dining room always set for a meal, each seat occupied by a doll or bear. A beautiful doll house was the centerpiece of the bay window at the end of the room. Even the grumpy male relatives smiled when they passed through it!
I sold 2 of those square cobalt bowls in my booth recently! One was damaged (broken tooth) and still sold. People up here love the cobalt glass. 🙂🔹🔷🔹🔷🔹
I'd use that highchair for my babies, my books. Stack some on the seat, use the trough to view large art books. I now only buy antique furniture for my books. Guests can stand! Great fun, thanks for bringing us along.
I love them all. Every purchase, including the high chair. Oh my word. And you remind me that I have the gorgeous Fostoria amber fleur-de-lis serving platter intact, so divine so loverly! Great video. Even when you don’t say it, I can still hear it in my mind, “wait for the cat “
Oh ! I wanted one of those wonderful high chairs as far back as 1964!! My baby boy is now 60! But yes, finding and affording one would have been just a dream for me then....time diffinitly does change things...
That ball pitcher! Fantastic! Loved the highchair! So sad the gorgeous old oak pieces are getting snapped up cheap, painted over and the details removed. Makes my heart cry out in pain. Thanks for rescuing it! I collect the portrait china pieces. So pretty.
I sat in a high chair much like that one you bought. My Mother and Aunt sat in it before me, and so did my Great Aunt. We all lived, and there are no horror stories about any of us falling out. I love the ball pitcher, I haven’t seen one like it before. You have great thrift shops. The plaque with the lady holding a sickle, is a depiction of the Roman Goddess of the grain, Her name is Ceres, and the word cereal is derived from Her name. The sickle is for harvesting the grain. The forest green pitcher is lovely, and the blue squared bowl with under-plate was very much like one my Gran had, she used it for crackers and a dip when company was by to watch the news and farm report on their Television, as most neighbours didn’t have one. They would often stay to watch Art Linkletter, People Are Funny, and all the ladies provided snacks, the men brought beer. 🖤🇨🇦
@@Trojan4u I love Mythology, it is a fascinating study. Over the years I have dug into most cultures Myths and Deities, many have similar tales, and parallel Deities. The differences appear where the land and weather patterns differ widely. Glad you enjoy it too.🖤🇨🇦
@@Trojan4u Good choices both. Edith Hamilton is also very good, and I love coming across old Victorian Mythology books, they include a number of less well known Greek Deities. I have a fascination for the “small” Gods who are very specialised, and the Classical Revival did too. I think it came from the European Tour taken by young men on leaving school.🖤🇨🇦
I don’t have kids, so I have minimal experience with baby accoutrements, but I don’t think a pillow is necessarily what’s needed to make that a safer situation. 🤣 I bet there’s a hundred year old recall on that too!
That ball pitcher is Cambridge, Gloria and still rather valuable. An excellent buy at $9.00. Congratulations, Scott. Oops, I paused too quickly to comment! Excellent find
You found the most delightful items like the Princess Louise plate & I want those turkey cups & saucers; wow. Cobalt blue sauce dish with underplate awesome as well. Thanks Scott for sharing your adventures. I so enjoy your trips.
My mother had a similar high chair. I think it was maple rather than oak. I remember my little sister being in it. What moms did back then was tie the baby with a dish towel across his/her waist, like a seat belt. They never left the baby alone in the chair and didn't turn their back to the baby.
Love the high chair. I would have bought it too, polished it up & put it in my dining room. A steal at that price. The blue dish is pretty but I don’t know what it’s for either.
Love that glass you found with the red bands; outstanding. Also, when you were pointing out the highchair, I spotted those chairs with the red flowered cushions; they would be perfect with my table in my dining room. They look so comfortable; I wonder what was the price & wished I still lived in Philly even though I love being in Lancaster county now.
I think you found a nice piece of Deep cut ,that is what it said on the ones I found. They are very well made and heavy. Great piece. Great finds as usual. Thanks for the trip to the stores. The hi chair would be great if you are into reborn dolls. I found a piece of Empolie purple amethyst for 5.00.
Drives me nuts when Goodwill has two completely identical items; one priced at 7.99 and the other at 5.99 - just because they were priced y different people, on different day.
I love your 30’s music! The old lamplighter was great! Westmoreland made some English hobnail in cobalt blue. Is that an option for your bowl with liner?
No for sure they are candlewick by Imperial. Very often you will find these candlesticks mislabeled on Ebay or in Google searches. Hocking did make candlesticks in their boopie pattern but they look very different from the candlewick.

The candlesticks are the best; I like the round shapes in them.
LOVE the high chair! No babies in my house, and I'd buy it too!😆
I love that you love clear glass!!
The blue dish with it's underpants is delightful.😀👍

Thats what the highchair was for. We all sat in one at my house. Its just beautiful
I drooled over the transferware turkey cups & saucers. Thanks Mary
Love the baby high chair

✨💖✨ If you have space the high chair would look nice as a plant stand.

The use to tie the babies on chair with a dish rag around their waist! Lol
I remember both my grannies doing that! 😂
Glad you got the baby chair. Love it
One of the things I love about this channel is that I learn from Scott. Now have a different eye and appreciation for items when we thrift!
That high chair was a must buy, so glad you rescued it.

Gorgeous highchair!! Nobody will be buying today's plastic and metal highchairs in 125 years, for sure!
That Radio voice sounds like a young Joan Crawford!
We had one we were tied into it to eat.Love it. Aline
“ 🎶Turn around....every now and then I find a chip🎵”. THIS is why I watch 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for sharing about Ceres! Mythology is fascinating..essentially everything we know is based in it.

@tamarrajames3590 Yes, so true. Great flood and other tales show up in different iterations. I enjoy joseph Campbell and Jean houston 📚 on mythology.

Fun shopping with you Scott. Nice finds. 😊🕊️
What an amazing trip to the thrift stores! I'm so happy that you found so many treasures.
Love the high chair. I would have bought it too, polished it up & put it in my dining room. A steal at that price. The blue dish is pretty but I don’t know what it’s for either.

Try Zanesville as the maker of the blue pottery pitcher/vase.

The blue pottery pitcher is cute.
Love the turkey cups happy you got them!
Ohh! I love the candlesticks! They are really neat! Would look great on my table for holiday dinners 😁
There were some nice things in those stores. I like the blue bowl and plate.
Moms used large dish towels to secure a wiggly baby
some one could use that baby chair as a plant stand, i like all your videos
The Browns did THE OLD LAMP LIGHTER which was a beautiful version.
Not sure who is singing this version.
Yes. They did! I love that one. 😊
Also by the Browns: "Put On An Old Pair of Shoes." Makes me cry to remember my parents singing that one in harmony.
Great find. Thanks for sharing.
I needed those "nuns" in your video to add to my others....drat
I would have also gotten those two pieces of pottery.
What a great Goodwill. Where is it? I'm in NE Philly. Thanks.

I have a problem with lead crystal. You should see my house! Love the stuff!
Thanks Scott
I love your 30’s music! The old lamplighter was great!
Westmoreland made some English hobnail in cobalt blue. Is that an option for your bowl with liner?
Hi Scott
your antique high chair makes a great plant stand?
also, maybe the cobalt piece can be indiana or federal glass? it reminds me of a square bowl I have ...
I think the candlesticks are "boopie" by anchor hocking
No for sure they are candlewick by Imperial. Very often you will find these candlesticks mislabeled on Ebay or in Google searches. Hocking did make candlesticks in their boopie pattern but they look very different from the candlewick.
I think some of those baby shoes looked huge
So sad all the bronzed baby shoes 😢
