I just bought this little tool and so far after about 400 rounds I'm very impressed with it! Great shooting and great video tools! Did you ever do the comparison with your Sig P365? I did my own and actually like the GX4 better than my Sig!
I think the keychain breakdown tool is actually super cool. Idk maybe it’s just me but that’s badass in my opinion. Haven’t seen that much I love how it’s a mini version of the gun and a takedown tool. I thought it was just a extra keychain at first until I did research
Also you may have been right about the sight being a bit off ive heard of other gx4 owners having to smack the dovetail sight over a bit to the side to get it on point
Hey TOOLS! I think I’ll just stick with my G2C. It’s been 100% reliable and although bigger than the P365, it’s not by much. I get a full grip, and should I ever have to defend myself with it, I won’t be crying my eyes out while it sits in an evidence locker for a year or two. It is still easy to conceal. I don’t have to have the tiniest thing on the planet to be happy.
Heard nothing but good on the G2C and 3C. The extensions for this one are supposed to be here tomorrow so I can fit my big ol meat hooks on it better.😂
@@ToolsandTargets I have the G2c and I've had lots of trouble with it. The first 8 mags. (96 rounds) it failed at least once in every mag., and half the time it failed to lock back on the last round. I sent it back to Taurus and when I got it back, it worked fine for about 50 rounds and then started the same issues all over again. Gotta send it back again I guess. It's a shame because it is a great shooter when it works. I've recently acquired the GX4 and I really like it. 150 rounds so far and no issues - very accurate and very comfortable (of course I have small hands). Love the trigger.
@@ToolsandTargets mine came with the two 11 round mags, but I'm assuming the 13 round gives you the better grip. Can't wait to get to the range and shoot it!
I have that pistol, and I love it. Great shooter. I've put 1000 rounds through it with not one single hiccup. The sights are spot-on, straight from the factory. Very reasonable price. It's taken over as my EDC.
@@shooters_world2909 I just practice with plain FMJ ammo. I've run several types of JHP rounds through it (with no problems) but I carry it with Hornady Critical Defense.

Coming back to your GX4 video since I just recently picked one up. It is running great so far and I picked up an IWB Kydex Holster so I can put it in my carry rotation. I have a front night sight and an extra mag on order since I got my rebate. So far I am loving it. Thanks again for the video and keep shooting my friend 😊.

You will be a little happier with the grip when you get the 13 rounders. I did a CYA holster video last week that is a nice inexpensive option if you want to carry it "for testing purposes".
Nice, I'll have to check it out. The pinky extensions and 13 round conversion kits are supposed to be here tomorrow. Gonna go this weekend and put a bunch of rounds through this and my 365 side by side to see what I think. One thing I'm really not liking is this sharp slide lock lever. Literally had my thumb sore the next day.
My G3C was the same way, low and left! But after a few hundred rounds it got better. I did replace my front sight with a HiViz fiber optic that is a little lower and also is longer so it comes back up the slide further which also shortens the front sight view. I had to take it off and on a few times and do some file work to make it tighten up nice but man its so much nicer! Filed the screw shorter and filed the new sight base lower profile so the screw would tighten it to the slide. Anyway lol I do think you're right on the pinky extension will help accuracy! Sweeet though, just have to get used to it like any new handgun.
Nice. If I did decide to carry this, I would definitely want a set of tritium sights on it. Those mag extensions are supposed to be here tomorrow so I'm gonna give those a try and see what it does to my accuracy with it before I move the rear sight any.👍

What do you think of this pistol vs. the G3C. My understanding is the G3C has double strike capability which some do not care about. What about no safety compared to the G3C? I have heard complaints of the finish on the Gx4. I am deciding between P365, this gun and the G3C. Good video and keep up the good work.
Thank you sir. I absolutely hate manual safety's on pistols. The finish on this one is flawless. As for the 365, I love it. I have the pinky extensions for this GX4 arriving tomorrow and I'm gonna make another video shooting both this and my 365 together and comparing them. So far, this is a nice little unit. I'm a big fan of these new micro sized double stack 9's. I personally feel like if you're gonna get something any bigger, you may as well step on up to something Glock 19 sized.
All the money we’ve spent on guns and ammo and the two I carry the most is this and my ria .38spl snub nose. It’s a great little gun, for $100 your 365 is quite an upgrade imo. I own all 3
@Tools&Targets I ordered my gx4 for $269 3 days ago - and today they went back to $329. Plus there is a $50 rebate. For some $220 I hope this works! Maybe if the zombie is bright pink like your metal I can get'em.. enjoying the review.
For years now, I have bough S&W, Springfield, and a couple Ruger pistols in cardboard boxes. I bought one of these today, new for $330 and was pleased to finally see an actual pistol box. I did get a G3C and a 6" model 66 in a cardboard box recently though. Maybe It's just the Gx4.
That was a pretty nice little bonus. I'm not sure how they decide which of their guns get plastic cases and which just get cardboard boxes. The TX22 competition and 1911 Commander I have also come with plastic cases.
@@ToolsandTargets You just mentioned a TX22....this is different, but that reminded me of the TC R22 for some reason. It isn't even a pistol, but if you can find one, don't get rid of it. Thompson branded, Smith and Wesson barrel, tac driver. thanks for the videos.
I have 3 Taurus pistols the G2 Millennium the TCP that’s in 380 the G2 is in 9mm and the G2C in 9mm the G2C this Christmas will be 3 years and ive never shot it. I shoot my reloads in my Millennium it likes 124gr buloots
I’ve been looking at this gun for a little while now. I’ve ALSO been looking at the P365. Looking forward to that comparison! When you think that’ll happen?
I need to go ahead and do that. I kinda got behind on this. I have picked up the 13 round mags for this and it feels much better to me now. I'll try to do a little comparison this coming week.👍
Awesome thanks! I too have larger than average hands. I’m not so interested in the 13 round mag as I live in the communist state of ny. I’m hoping it can be ordered with 10 round mags but I’m curious as to how well the pinky extensions work. Looking forward to your video!
Hey tools, I justgotme one of these this afternoon!! I'm really liking my first impressions of this new tool, gonna try to hit the range tomorrow to see how it does !! I had the Smith and Wesson SD9VE loved it and could conceal it fairly well until,I had to sit, tie a shoe, then it got uncomfortable real quick !!
I'm not to sure how I feel about that gx4, I know your usually a pretty good shot and if its off by that much that's not looking real good. besides I got pretty big hands myself and I'm not a big fan of the micro compacts, but who knows once you get that pinky extension and a better more comfortable grip it may be better. Have a good night brother stay safe and I will see you on the next one.
Thank you sir. Those extensions will be here tomorrow and gonna put a ton of rounds through it this weekend beside my 365. Hopefully, I can straighten things up. I think part of it is also that dang slide lock digging into my thumb. It's literally painful enough that my thumb was sore the next day.😆
Cool video bud. Yeah I always order a Pearce extension grip for my micro flush-fitting magazines. You might lose a tiny little bit of concealability, but it makes up for it in grip and control...
Thank you sir. My 365 came with the 12 round mag with the built in little pinky extension so I didnt have to worry about it with that one. Just ended up getting a couple more mags. The extensions for this are supposed to be here tomorrow so I can give it as fair a comparison to the 365 as I can.👍
Tools, i've been really debating on one of these 4's or maybe one of the 3's for a couple years, with that said i know this vid is about 3 years old so hopefully you've put a hell of a lot more rounds through it, if so, how has it gone to date? any issues after this amount of time? i hear & see way more positive than negative on these but i still have doubts only because of the past issues Taurus has had, granted it seems to be a thing of the past these days and they have stepped up their game. SO, all things being equal would you carry this for personal protection on a day to day basis? and is this rated for +P ammo? your not going to offend me in the slightest brother and i ask for your no bullshit EDC opinion on this because frankly your one of the VERY few i trust and value your no BS opinions on these tools we all love. would really appreciate your take on this since a little time has passed, thanks brother!! What’s up Bl great new pew pew !!! Sorry I left your show the other night . Was have a bad issue from the chemo the other night . Hope u have another live video . So I can stay longer , thanks for another great pew pew video ..😁💨🔫😎
Oh lord. I need to get this one back out and try some more rounds through it. I picked up some mag extensions but havent had time to mess with the sights or get it back out.
Good review...thanks. I bought my GX4 for my NEW EDC. Wasn't looking for a firearm that was Red Dot Optics ready or had a 'rail'. I wanted a small 9mm that would be the best for self defense, concealment, yet have quality and be dependable. I wasn't going to be in any shooting competition with the GX4 as I have other firearms for that. Purchased the GX4 at my local Scheels and got the last one in stock at that time. 329.00 Put the Amerigo Glow Dot front sight on and a big+ over the white factory front sight. 29.95 Received the pinky extensions (2) for the two 11 rd mags that were included and that completed the grip for me....good to go with my pinky on board. 9.98 Of course my 13 rd mag has the extension. Got my Taurus GX4 IWB Holster from CYA Supply Co. Liked it so much got another for my Sig P238. That's all I needed to do to get the GX4 the way I wanted it on my hip.
Very nice. sounds like you got it setup right! That's a great price on it too. I got the pinky extensions and 13 round mags in for this one but haven't had a chance to get out and run some more rounds through it just yet.
Two yrs later and the gx4 STILL shoots low and to the left by a large amount. Got me one to throw around and like you its shooting way left and low and it's not me. My rear sight is already pushed to the right by the factory.
Good review. I think once you get the pinky extensions and the sharp edge rounded off, it will change the point of impact some. I like that little key chain tool that comes with it.
I carry a G2C,could I carry a more expensive gun ,sure I could but after breaking this gun in and a few inexpensive mods I really like it ,it will poke some serious holes, mods were sights, stainless spring and a little polish job..
You know they will. I'm not a fan of optics on my handguns though. Especially on something that is meant to be as small of a footprint as possible.🤷♂️
I carry a Smith and Wesson body guard because of concealment I own the taurus g2c and love it but hard to conceal because I'm 5' 1 and 120 lb wanted me small pistol with 9mm so I purchased the gx4 can't wait to take it to the range ! Great video
So far so good. The mag extensions I ordered are supposed to be here tomorrow so I'm gonna put a whole lot more rounds through it this weekend as long as the rain doesn't have other plans.👍
Hell Son, I know you shoot better than that!! I'd go ahead and drift those sights and then do the comparison. I've seen you put 3 rounds in 8 inches of gel within an inch of each other so I definitely think it's the sights. It does shoot nice tho but I think the extensions will certainly help. Nice video and ya got me reconsidering Taurus. Excellent job my man!
Surprised that the slide does not come cut and there is no rail. Figured they would have nailed that part! The Glock 43x and the Canik Elite, and most of the other sub compacts have figured that out. Really like Taurus. Surprised......
The slide cut I wouldn't want anyway. I think it totally defeats the purpose of these micro guns to go slapping optics on them. I am suprised they didn't put some kind of rail though.
I haven't shot a CSX so can't really say a whole lot, but it does feel nice to hold. I don't know if you heard, but Taurus has actually issued a recall on some of the GX4's because of firing when dropped. Mine wasn't on the list but just a heads up.
Rustoleum. I used to use the cheapest kind I could buy but it would take me double or triple the amount to actually cover the steel so it ended up not even saving me any money.😆
Before you move the sights check to see if you are getting too much finger pad on the trigger. Use half of your pad. I was low & left on my G2c PT111. Was me not the gun. May do better with 124 grain also
Yeah, I'm not gonna move em yet. The pinky extensions are supposed to be here tomorrow. Pretty sure that's gonna change things up a lot. I've got some long fingers so trying to use half of the tip of my finger is a no go on anything for me. I shoot pretty much everything with the second section of my finger.
@@ToolsandTargets I have extra large hands & pinky extension help on anything compact especially Ruger LC9s. You might have hit that age where it's time for glasses also. 😆 😆
OfCourse all guns are not going to shoot to the same POI, but I guess I got lucky and the one I bought was right on the money right out of the box. The ammo makes a difference too, all brands, bullet weights and power levels don't shoot to the same place. I'd say the more you shoot it the better you'll be able to hit with it.
I don't but I have been thinking about picking one up for a while. The only thing that I don't like about the G2C or G3C is no option for a model without a manual safety. I may wait and pick up the new G3X when I can get a hold of it.
@@ToolsandTargets Thank you tools! I had a Ruger micro 9, Sold to me at a gun shop, and think the guy just wanted to sell me the gun! The very first shot,. I ordered my gx4 for $269 3 days ago - and today they went back to $329. Plus there is a $50 rebate. For some $220 I hope this works! Maybe if the zombie is bright pink like your metal I can get'em.. enjoying the review.
Town Gun here in Richmond just got the GX4 in, running about $350
Yep. same price I paid for it here.👍
For years now, I have bough S&W, Springfield, and a couple Ruger pistols in cardboard boxes.
Nice
@@desroymalyt1483 I have the pinky extensions too so I'll make sure to include those.👍
New range toy!! Im jealous....I ain't bought a gun this week. My wife is so proud hahaha
LOL, I bought enough for the both of us!👍

My wife’s TCP in 380 shoots better than I thought for a very compact pistola
👍
Hey tools, I justgotme one of these this afternoon!! I'm really liking my first impressions of this new tool, gonna try to hit the range tomorrow to see how it does !! I had the Smith and Wesson SD9VE loved it and could conceal it fairly well until,I had to sit, tie a shoe, then it got uncomfortable real quick !!
Nice. This one has been absolutely perfect. I think they're great deep conceal guns.😎👊
Nice pistol been hearing good things about them Great video Tools Stay Safe Stay 2A Strong 🇺🇸
Thank you sir. Seems pretty nice so far.😎
What’s going on Tools great video brother 👍
Thank you sir. Appreciate you checkin it out my friend!😎
Hey Tools you need to do a review with the Canik Mete. I know that they just came out and it would be hard to find one. Thanks for sharing video 👊
It's literally painful enough that my thumb was sore the next day.😆
I just got one of these gx4s and I love it
So far it seems like a nice little gun. I gotta get it out for some more testing when I get some time.👍
Cool video bud.
Thank you sir. I'm gonna try to do live more often but can't decide if I wanna do one every week or not.
I can't hit the broad side of a barn with mine. Also my Rear Sight moves over on every shot.
Oh lord. I need to get this one back out and try some more rounds through it. I picked up some mag extensions but havent had time to mess with the sights or get it back out.
Cool little pistol
Thank you sir. Seems like a good one so far.👍
Seems like it ran fine no problems Be Safe and God Bless 👍👍
So far so good. I just gotta see if I can tighten up the accuracy this weekend.👍
I have the 365 and I ordered a gx4 thinking it'd be a great car gun
I've really gotten to like it. I added the 13 round mag base plates and it made a world of difference in getting a nice grip on it.
Nice video...nice shooting...nice piece!
Thank you sir.😎
I'm thanking on getting one
So far, it seems like a nice little pistol.👍
Good review...thanks.
I bought my GX4 for my NEW EDC.
Wasn't looking for a firearm that was Red Dot Optics ready or had a 'rail'.
I wanted a small 9mm that would be the best for self defense, concealment, yet have quality and be dependable.
I wasn't going to be in any shooting competition with the GX4 as I have other firearms for that.
Purchased the GX4 at my local Scheels and got the last one in stock at that time.
329.00
Put the Amerigo Glow Dot front sight on and a big+ over the white factory front sight.
29.95
Received the pinky extensions (2) for the two 11 rd mags that were included and that completed the grip for me....good to go with my pinky on board.
9.98
Of course my 13 rd mag has the extension.
Looks like a nice shooter.
Not too bad so far. I think I'll be able to straighten it up a little once I stick the mag extensions on it.😎
Two yrs later and the gx4 STILL shoots low and to the left by a large amount. Got me one to throw around and like you its shooting way left and low and it's not me. My rear sight is already pushed to the right by the factory.
Good review. I think once you get the pinky extensions and the sharp edge rounded off, it will change the point of impact some. I like that little key chain tool that comes with it.
Agreed. The keychain is pretty cool.😎
Check out the Taurus th9 or th9c that’s a really good one to
When I got mine it was shooting left also drifted the sights now its perfect for me, I did change the sights out though, truglo pro tritium
Nice. I ended up putting the extended 13 round mags on this one. A lot better grip on it now.
@@ToolsandTargets I did put the pinky extensions on the 11 rounders
I can change the sites on either of mine except the TCP.
😎
They seem like neat gun I haven't got the chance to put my hands on one yet
Seems pretty good so far. Just a couple ltitle things I gotta get straight. Gonna do a lot more testing with it this weekend.👍
@@ToolsandTargets looking forward to see the comparison vid between it and the p365
I carry a G2C,could I carry a more expensive gun ,sure I could but after breaking this gun in and a few inexpensive mods I really like it ,it will poke some serious holes, mods were sights, stainless spring and a little polish job..
Nice. I've heard good stuff about em.👍
Nice honest review ,Always the better choice TAURUS! Tnx for the vid...
😎👍
I hope they come out with a GX4 TORO
You know they will. I'm not a fan of optics on my handguns though. Especially on something that is meant to be as small of a footprint as possible.🤷♂️
I carry a Smith and Wesson body guard because of concealment I own the taurus g2c and love it but hard to conceal because I'm 5' 1 and 120 lb wanted me small pistol with 9mm so I purchased the gx4 can't wait to take it to the range ! Great video
Thanks! This has been a great little pistol so far!
@@ToolsandTargets thank you 😊
Maybe try using the blackstrap extensions. It might help from pulling left. Good video!!
Thank you sir.
Congrats on 7k subs sit. Come on 10k. Hope all is well, ya sound a little stuffy
Thank you sir. Probably just from breathing in dust and dandelion seeds.😂
Thanks T&T. Great job. Good info.
Thank you sir.😎
Everyone who shoots it is low and left.
I put night sights on mine and pinky extensions from LakelineLLC. Those and the 13 rounders help.
I picked up a couple of extensions and the 13 round conversions. Need to get some time to put some more rounds through it.
I got mine early on and i really like it straight out of the box!
So far so good. The mag extensions I ordered are supposed to be here tomorrow so I'm gonna put a whole lot more rounds through it this weekend as long as the rain doesn't have other plans.👍
@@ToolsandTargets Mine did shoot low so i filed front sight down and fixed it but im going to order the ameriglo sight for mine
Hell Son, I know you shoot better than that!! I'd go ahead and drift those sights and then do the comparison. I've seen you put 3 rounds in 8 inches of gel within an inch
of each other so I definitely think it's the sights. It does shoot nice tho but I think the extensions will certainly help. Nice video and ya got me reconsidering Taurus.
Excellent job my man!
Thank you sir. I was trying to give it the benefit of the doubt but I may do a little adjusting.👍
I am suprised they didn't put some kind of rail though.
i like it but the trigger on the one i checked out had a real stiff trigger.
It's definitely a little heavier trigger pull than my 365.👍
What about a different grain bullet?
I had the same thought after I got home. I got the mag extensions in too so next time I'm gonna run some 124 grain through it and see what happens.👍
Thanks Tools. Trying to decide between this or the Smith CSX. Any thoughts ???
I haven't shot a CSX so can't really say a whole lot, but it does feel nice to hold. I don't know if you heard, but Taurus has actually issued a recall on some of the GX4's because of firing when dropped. Mine wasn't on the list but just a heads up.
Shot my friends and his definitely shot a little left. Checked it at 5 yards and it was 3-5 “ left. Rear sight needs drifting !
I still need to get back out and run it some more. Got some mag extensions but just haven't had time.😆
Seems pretty nice! Just curious what brand spray paint you use?
Rustoleum. I used to use the cheapest kind I could buy but it would take me double or triple the amount to actually cover the steel so it ended up not even saving me any money.😆
@@ToolsandTargets awesome thank you for the tip!
My gx4 shoots low and to the left too .
This one is much better now that I've put the 13 round mag on it. Gives a lot more to hold onto for me.

HOW DO YOU LIKE THE GX4 AND WHAT AMMO WOULD YOU PERSONALLY CARRY FOR DEFENSE
The GX4 has been a great gun. Not a single malfunction of any kind and I use it a lot. Right now I'm carrying 124 grain Gold Dot.
Sir do you have the g2c if you do Wich one do you prefer
I don't but I have been thinking about picking one up for a while. The only thing that I don't like about the G2C or G3C is no option for a model without a manual safety. I may wait and pick up the new G3X when I can get a hold of it.
Looks like a nice one ...
So far so good.👍
These are the Best days in the gun world!
Absolutely!
nice pick up. i will get one eventually. its on the list. but you know how we do with lists. they change constantly lol
I know exactly what you mean. I have about 6 or 8 guns on my list right now. it's hard to decide!😆
Good video brother 📹📹📹📹🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you sir.😎
Serious question here sir....Is that truly a "Soft" shooting 9mm? Thank you for a good answer.....I hate a lot of muzzle flip....thank you very much
It's not bad at all but all of these "micro" 9's are gonna be a little snappy by nature.👍
@@ToolsandTargets Thank you tools! I had a Ruger micro 9, Sold to me at a gun shop, and think the guy just wanted to sell me the gun! The very first shot,. I knew I would not be owning that thing very long! I was totally unfamiliar with the 9 mm cartridge! Thank you for your response, as I will not own a 9 mm again! Very helpful! Thanks again!
