This one’s perfect. $390 for something like this is almost like it’s a fairytale. A sig p365 is about $500-$600 now. Same with a glock 43. The m&p shield plus is a bit cheaper at around $400, but it doesn’t compare to this as much as the other ones. I was also considering the g3c. I found one of $200 at my local Sportsman’s warehouse, but maybe I’ll just save a bit more and get the gx4. I liked the feel of the p365. Even more, I liked the feel of the p365 xl. They are really expensive right now tho. I was also looking at the Ruger Max9, but something doesn’t feel right about it. I like the grip angle of the glocks, so now that I know that the Taurus has similar back straps, I’m considering it even more. The mag capacity of the glock 43 is just not enough anymore. When you have smaller guns that hold 10-14 rds, it’s hard to find something that has a similar feel to the glock. The GX4 seems like the perfect combination of the 2 factors. Great Video!
This is an excellent EDC option. Light, accurate, concealable and easy to shoot. This replaced my Hellcat and P365 without reservations. Best Taurus offering yet!!
I just ordered one last week and I'm stoked to get it. I think it's going to be an excellent option across the board for everyone regardless of their budget.
I just bought my GX4 ($345) and I can not be any happier with my purchase! Straight out of the box and it grouped flawlessly! Sootch is right tho...it does favor low left but a tight grouping. A lil adjusting and it should be just fine! Very lil snap in the recoil. This is my 3rd Taurus...PT 24/7 G2, G2C, and GX4! I may be a lil biased tho...I am a Taurus so...😀
I have the PT 111 G2, love it. The trigger has just gotten better over time. The reset is really sweet. I have had this gun for about 5 years, it has really been a great preformed since day one. Never a FTF or FTE yet. Not bad for 300.00
Man, Taurus has really outdone themselves. So many great features. I love how they did the index and more room for the off hand for control than the Sig. I love the idea of the back strap. They took the take down from Beretta which is fantastic. The whole chassis can come out with very little work. Makes it easy to work on, put in new parts or clean. From the video, I actually like the trigger for EDC. The Sig 365 is too light for IMO and would not carry one without a safety. I like the fact that I can get the night sight I prefer as well. Size and weight are ideal. Every review shows this gun working marvelous right out of the Box. And Taurus has made this gun with 25% few parts than the G3C. And top quality material All stainless steel chassis. This gun will be a flat out winner of the Micro 9mm's with 10 plus rounds. Great Job Taurus!
Yup. I just got the TORO version for $295 out the door. I also have the P365 and Shield Plus and this GX4 is right on par with both of those. I actually prefer the GX4 over both my P365 and Shield Plus.
My local store, Green top hunt and sports outside of Richmond Virginia had these for only $329. Took it shooting for the first time today and it was flawless. I also own a G3C, but I think this is clearly worth the extra money to have the nicer trigger, no side safety, and most of all it is even more concealable. I don’t mind my pinky sliding under the bottom of the magazine. The gun still seemed plenty controllable and buying an extended magazine to have a pinky grip defeats the point of the ultra small size of the gun, at least for why I bought it. Might as well get a G3C for less money If you want a fuller grip. All in all, I am immensely pleased so far.
@Frank Bonazza III I saw his video, but if Taurus tested the gun especially with plus+ (don’t know why anyone would use that trash) then he shouldn’t be worried. Just shoot it and test it.

I know I’m late to the party, but I just got a great deal from Sportsman’s Warehouse - $269.99 + military discount. Bought two boxes of Fiocchi (sic) 115 gr fmj, and ran the first 100 rounds with zero malfunctions out of the box. Took the pistol home, and cleaned/oiled the gun for next range session. I also changed out sights for Tru Glo fiber optic sights (my preferred option). Next range session, I’ll try different weights, fmj and hollow points, and Tula ammo. If it continues to run as good as it did out of the box, I’ll get the +2 extensions and add it to my EDC rotation.
Nice review! It's noteworthy that Taurus released the GX4 both in the US and in Brazil at the same time, that's almost a miracle. I wish you guys could have the TS9 as well, it's selling like hot cakes in BR and it also seems to be a solid pistol.
@@funkla65 Striker fired handguns in the US are actually extremely common it’s also possible Taurus never tried selling it here because they might just get lost in the shuffle. It’s also possible they were extremely crowded striker fired market they have to severely undercut them selves on price to get noticed. And besides if it’s selling well in their native country then why worry about it. And as far as the US market goes I think they’re more concerned with marketing the new GX4 right now.
Living in the Free State of Arizona, where in the Valley of the Sun, shorts and golf shirts are the uniforms of the day I exclusively pocket carry! Unless you are wearing skinny pants I have carried everything from a Ruger "Light Rack" LCP .22 to a Remington RM380, Glock 42-43, S&W Shield Plus, Sig P-365, and yes, even an S&W Shield Performance Center .45. The .45 was the only one that pushed over the envelope! It all depends on what size pants pocket I'm wearing that day for which pistol goes into it. I think pocket carry for me is optimal, if things look like they are going to go south, unobtrusively put your hand in your pocket, get the pistol in hand, and then in less than a second you can get on target, if the situation get's "unhairy", simply remove your hand from your pocket and no one is less the wary about it, like you had to brush back or pull your shirt up to get your hand on your piece exposing to all you have a gun!
Only ever had one problem from Taurus. .44 mag Raging Bull, worn and needed work to go into battery properly. Three weeks turn around and just like new again .Been shooting it since 1994. Coincidently I have a 730 TCP .380 for 9 years no problems either.
A little known fact is that Cbc group (Taurus's owner) actually bought mec-gar after a lot of fails in taurus firearms were found to come from taurus's proprietary design magazines
Great review. Thank you. Definitely looks like Taurus has put some thought in on this one. My only concern is that it is Taurus. 1000 rounds from now its a Taurus. I always said I’d never buy another one... time will tell.
I picked one of these up from PSA for $299 a few weeks ago. It has the bronze cerakote finish. I don't think I would want an optic on a gun this small. A laser may work better for me, which they do have available now.
@Frank Bonazza III Yes sir, their QC has always been spotty. I had a Test Gun. I played with it about a month. Zero issues but, even though it checked all of the boxes....I did not rush out and buy one. Honestly, I would not trust my life on it. If money was an object and someone needed a carry gun, I personally would tell them buy a Police Trade-in Glock or buy a Ruger. The lowly Rugers are American made and run at the same price more or less as Taurus. That is just my opinion though 👍
I've had my edc pt111 for five years. Not one malfunction. It's proven to be extremely reliable. However, this GX4 could be it's replacement! Pretty similar to my TX22, which IMO is the new gold standard for 22LR.
Yes sir, I agree if you got one that Is working it builds your confidence if not in the brand at least in that particular gun. My TX22 has been near 100% too but, my G44 and CP33 have been too. For the most part all three 22's have only had the dead primer here or there that you would get with cheap bulk ammo. Now with CCI they are golden 👍@@jeffwilson1217

Gx4 vs shield plus would be a nice comparison. With the large backstrap the gx4 looks really shootable and It's smaller and shorter thand the shield ( and with One more round ).
i just bought this gun and am excited to fire it at the range. After getting comfortable with it i am getting my CCW . My normal range gun is a 9MM Baby Desert Eagle so i am curious how this will perform
It’s a Taurus. I don’t think they have anything to worry about. The quality control for Taurus is totally hit or miss and that’s why I could never trust my life to them. If you don’t have confidence in your equipment, what’s the point of using it?
In your thumbnail picture the safety on the trigger does not look like it reset. On my GX4 It’s as if the spring does not push it back. Looks as if you’re having the same problem.
Just picked up mine last week…I like it better than my p365 as it is more comfortable to shoot…have about a 100 rnds 9mm 115g ball through it…zero malfunction…mine shoots great groups although to the left…will experiment with my finger placement on the trigger…as the trigger is fairly wide I may not be getting enough finger on the trigger and pushing left some when firing…a super little 9mm pistol imo…if it proves to be durable, the Bull has a winner…but what do I know?…. I like the G3c a lot also…lol
Yeah the rear sight is slightly right of center already…I would prefer not to drift it right any farther as I wouldn’t like the way it would look with sight drifted way right…silly maybe but for this pistol’s raison d’être impact a bit to the left really doesn’t matter…for me it is a 365 killer if it continues to perform as it has…I will sell my 365 and buy another gx4 and a few 9 mm rounds…lol
Question. It’s classified as a Micro Compact. Why would you want a red dot or laser attached to it if it’s conceal carry. I am 6’4. I am interested but I have heard people are annoyed with the lack of plate for a red dot optic. Anyway I am still in the air about the pistol. I have seen the cost between$400-480 Any way great video! I appreciate it!
No size comparison to the hellcat/p365? I've been scouring the interwebs to try and find a good side-by-side size comparison, specifically the heights.
Google each compassion you want and Handgun hero has them all. Every spec is covered, with pictures. Sig is still the smallest and lightest out of every one of these newer offerings.

At what price point would you consider a concealed carry gun from Taurus?
During normal times I'd say similar to what you'd pay for a Canik. They both have proved themselves to be reliable.
$390. 😏
Already have a Taurus G3C for EDC. Will consider the GX4 when I can actually lay hands on it.
I’d actually consider a G3C at its current price point of about $299.99, however, I’d rather splurge on a better gun like the P365XL or Shield Plus.

@@janeturman4211 I mean I have p365 that I love, but I have a G2C that is a beast as well. It just nice to see Taurus competing in the micro 9 market
@@janeturman4211 Tell him to send it back to Sig to fix, stupid to continue to use an unreliable gun; unless of course you’re just making this up to throw dirt on Sig. Most people don’t have a single hiccup.
The TS9 might intrude on glock’s us patents
@@matthewcaughey8898 if not Glock's, then maybe someone else's. The TS9 definitely has a Willie Bubits flair to it.
Com o preço que tá sendo vendida no Brasil não vai adiantar nada ter sido lançada junta, vai ser um fracasso de vendas.
The TH series also come with a hard shell case
Taurus is always a better choice great reliable quality guns
Only ever had one problem from Taurus. .44 mag Raging Bull, worn and needed work to go into battery properly. Three weeks turn around and just like new again .Been shooting it since 1994. Coincidently I have a 730 TCP .380 for 9 years no problems either.
Would really like to get an RMR version.
They have pinky extensions and 13 Rd mags. If you want an 11 and a 13 just get the 13 Rd spring and base plate for like 10 bucks.
Makes sense that the mags would be the same as the SIG P365. The P226 mags work perfectly in the G3, or G2C, and G3C
I can buy any Micro I want ...I choose this one ...Love it!! GX4 Rocks!😃❤❤
I live in Florida, proud dad and I’ve been wearing cargo shorts before I was even a dad
A little known fact is that Cbc group (Taurus's owner) actually bought mec-gar after a lot of fails in taurus firearms were found to come from taurus's proprietary design magazines
Keep up the excellent job!
Sharp looking little blaster 👍 I'll hold out for the optic cut version. A Sentinel or a 507k would top it off !
If you get the optic version then finding a Hoster to fit will be an issue for a while, IMO.
I pocketed a Kahr P40 if I can handle that then I should have no issues
👍 for the cargo shorts
They do have the pinky extension on their site for 4.99 , great little gun it seems
Great review
Easily pocket carried with a Borai holster. Kydex trigger cover with a pocket catch
Have one of those on my Remington rm380, that carry in the front right. Made to snag the pocket, on it's way out. Works flawlessly!
Might be the first Tarsus I buy.
Thanks again.
The G2C was great in my testing. Taurus has stepped it for sure.

Nice video. Thanks for no bs. New subscriber.
I love mine except for the weak mag release. Worried it'll release the mag in an emergency situation
I love the g2c I have that I have the g23 now I have to get that one to very nice gun
I tried one, liked it, bought one. You influencer , you.
43x all day with them shield mags baby. Nice video
Gx4 vs shield plus would be a nice comparison. With the large backstrap the gx4 looks really shootable and It's smaller and shorter thand the shield ( and with One more round ).
I have a ruger Max I plan on comparing it to.

Cool! But im pretty sure the Taurus shoots flatter and Better.
Cool video thanks.
i just bought this gun and am excited to fire it at the range. After getting comfortable with it i am getting my CCW . My normal range gun is a 9MM Baby Desert Eagle so i am curious how this will perform
I just found your channel and you did a great job on the review. I will be checking out more of your videos. Liked and subbed. 👍🏼
👍. Cargo shorts always!😏
Wow that's a pretty budget friendly firearm. Went to get a gun with red dot sight for 600 . Have changed my mind now
It’s a Taurus. I don’t think they have anything to worry about. The quality control for Taurus is totally hit or miss and that’s why I could never trust my life to them. If you don’t have confidence in your equipment, what’s the point of using it?
Wish I had a range like this to go to instead of open with all the other shooters.
In your thumbnail picture the safety on the trigger does not look like it reset. On my GX4 It’s as if the spring does not push it back. Looks as if you’re having the same problem.
That may just be the angle - but I will check - I hadn't shot the gun when I snapped the photos
@@TheHumbleMarksman called Taurus. They are not aware of the issue, but have found 1 other GX4 with the same issue.
Look at rear sight in dovetail and be sure it’s centered
Yeah the rear sight is slightly right of center already…I would prefer not to drift it right any farther as I wouldn’t like the way it would look with sight drifted way right…silly maybe but for this pistol’s raison d’être impact a bit to the left really doesn’t matter…for me it is a 365 killer if it continues to perform as it has…I will sell my 365 and buy another gx4 and a few 9 mm rounds…lol
How has the gun held up over the months
Sat in its case - haven’t taken it out since the review
What about the sacred bond between audience and creator? Where does the THM logo get put this time?
Haha first shots videos I am less clever
I pocket carry my Shield 2.0 in my many cargo short all day here in Florida.
And did he say he puts 12 rounds in those tiny magazines???😳
11+1
I have the New Shield Plus and it's flat based mags hold 11.
Taurus advertises a gas nitride treatment for the slide. Does it also have a tenifer coating?
As i understand it Gas nitride is nitrocarburizing or tennifer colloquially
Red dots are a force multiplier for pistols and don’t really affect how they are carried if you carry appendix
The GX4 or a GX4 XL TORO
are on my regular carry rotation…
The GX4 is my most carried
Crazy reliable … pistols … the GX4XL is a Skinny 26 😊
Also $385 … will get u a GX4 XL TORO with Red dot and also add $50 rebate … $335 for a GX4XL TORO with a Red Dot Riton $225
$110 for the pistol not bad
Pinky extension sold separately.
