Taurus makes great guns.. I have 3 of them with over 9,000 rounds through them. And zero malfunctions.. I just got a new sig and beretta and had multiple malfunctions with steel case ammo.. but the Taurus’s ate that same ammo with no problem.. they’re not just good for the money they’re better than most stuff on the market

Same here. I love my Tauruses and carry them all the time. The G3 is one of the softest shooting and most accurate 9mm I've ever had. The groups with it are ridiculous and is very accurate at well beyond normal pistol range. Awesome guns!
I put 300 rounds through mine today for my first shooting of the pistol. It took me a few magazines to get use to this pistol. I got my groups really close at 12 yards, but was all over the place in the beginning.. Love the gun so far... Absolutely no problems so far.
Thank you for the review. I just found out about this gun just a few days ago myself. With me currently being on a tight budget, I believe this could be a great ccw in times when I need something smaller than my Glock 19. I’ve done some research and apparently Taurus came under new management in 2019 or 2020. They’re really working on turning things around so maybe it’s time to buy my first Taurus.
Same for me on the pinch thing letting off the trigger. What i tried was a piece of 2000 grit sandpaper and worked on that guard where your finger rolls back under the trigger. So far so good.
I'm actually picking up the g3 tactical today , this will be my next firearm . Would like to see you do a review on the g3 tactical vs the gx4 . Awesome review though .
The GX4 came out shortly after the G3C. Great little gun. The trigger bite is real. lol If I have one complaint with it, that's it. Well over a thousand rounds through mine with zero failures. The new Canik Mete MC9 is another great little gun you may or may not have heard of. $390 for mine and it is simply amazing. Look it up.
I bought mine about a year ago it came with 2 11 round and 1 13 round with pinkie extension about 4 months ago I happen to catch a recall notice on the drop safety I sent in my serial number the first time it said it was good, I thought I would check one more time to be safe this time it came back needing the recall. Taurus sent me the free shipping label took about 3-4 weeks to get it back hopefully it's fixed they don't tell you what they did
I bought a GX4 and picked it up early May. I've had nothing but feeding issues with multiple brands of ammo, and the front sight came off within the first 50 rounds. Sent it back to Taurus who replaced the sight, barrel, and recoil spring. Took it out last week and again today and still having multiple feeding issues. Today I shot around 344 rounds and had 63 failure to feeds or failure to chamber the first round. I will be sending it back again. This is a bummer because I have a G2C and have not had any issues with that. Also bought a TX22 the same time as the GX4, and that has worked fine except for some ammo issues.
I kept the flat base plate on my standard GX4. I have the pinky extension on my GX4 TORO and GX4XL TORO, along with Holosun optics. I replaced the front sight on all three with the Ameriglo front sight from Taurus.
Had to send mine in to Taurus after first range session. Multiple issues. FTF, FTE, and extractor broke completely. Mag change caused slide to go into battery 😮
Over a year ago I bought that and a Hellcat Pro on the same day. Was later surprised I could shoot tighter groups with the smaller GX4. I think it's because I'm more used to a slanted Glock-like grip angle and the less stiff trigger of the Gx4.
I put the glock 43x truglow night sights on it and the front sight is to high. The dot is also larger so was consitantly shooting low but was dead on with factory sights. Went and put factories back on and again perfect
I like my GX4 so much I recently picked up a second one. I've had zero issues with either of them. I don't experience any trigger bite, but my fingers are slender so that might make a difference maybe? You wouldn't get away with shooting my Glock 30sf .45 without wearing eye protection! It will launch hot brass straight back at you! The other day an empty .45 case hit the right lens of my glasses, another went town the neck of my shirt, and several bounced off my hat! Lol jus sayn! Good video and review of the GX4 with various ammo brother! 👍
I am extremely concerned about the mag release button. On mine, it is too easy to eject the magazine. On multiple occasions, I have removed it from my holster to find the magazine falling out, or completely out, left on the front seat of my car. I won't carry it anymore until I get this remedied.
Love my G2C, replaced plastic sights with Ameriglo sights .. purchased the stainless model new for $219 just 4-months ago. Every time i shoot it i am saying to myself "i can't believe this shoots so good for the price" i plan on trying out the GX4 soon
One of the best guns ever designed in my opinion. Hope to get one myself one day soon. Not a huge fan of the G2/G3 series. I think they're good guns and don't dislike them. I just think there are many other better guns... but the GX4 really is an excellent gun in my opinion. Love the Stamped Stainless Chassis design and wish more companies did that. Like the full length rail also. Can't say it's the best trigger design or anything like that... but it definitely works and is a safe, reliable firearm. (so there's no complaints about that). My only worry is the finish on the slide. I don't know if it's common, but I've seen some with a lot of wear compared to other guns. (Like, a man will have a 1yr old GX4 that he's carried a lot and a 5yr old P365 that he's carried more than 3x more... but the GX4 will still have far more visible wear).
For me finish wear isnt an issue. Firearms are like tools to me, I dont care if my hammer gets a little dirty or the finish wears off as long as it hits the nail thats all that matters.
@@arkansasoutdoorschannel1867 I worry about rust... but as far as I know, the color wearing off doesn't mean that the finish/protection has worn off. I just like to know my guns are protected though. Have had gun parts just almost instantly before in hot, humid weather. Always keep up on oiling and maintenance... but then just out of nowhere I'd have seriously rusted parts that were just oiled like 2-3 months before. (and I can't afford a temperature/humidity controlled safe for all my steel parts).
@@blacksuite1 it’s a budget gun so I’d expect QC to be a bit of an issue, mine has been great other than the rear sight drifting. I just got a new sight and I think it’s fine now!
I don't know if you heard but Taurus has a recall on the GX4 You can Google GX4 recall and go to the link that pops up and you put in your serial number and it'll tell you if it's on the recall list mine was I sent it in and I just got it back two days ago there was nothing wrong with it which I didn't think there was but I sent it in anyway because it is a safety recall saying it could potentially be not drop safe but there's only certain ones that are and if yours is on the recall list they'll send you a shipping label it took 3 weeks from the time I sent mine off to the time I got it back
I have learned that from mine and from the way my finger fits the gun, that I can avoid the bite with using the very tip of my finger pad. It took a little while to find the happy spot but now no trigger bite and Im still accurate.
Waiting for my GX4 I wanted to buy originally because of how it felt in my hand a year ago already but waited for glitches and factory returns to decrease. You can't beat the current price plus a rebate. Dealer convinced me a few weeks ago going for the GX4 the M&P Shield Plus is better. I wanted a pocket carry which the Shield is not and I overlooked to my regret. Its trigger also bites me. I only use my guns for range purposes. Shrunk some electrical shrink tubing amount the trigger of the Shield+. It is not a recommendation to you as it could jeopardize the safety of your gun. Just something that works for me. If you want a friendly trigger, feel out the Caniks. My best gun by far is a TP 9 Elite SC. It is not SC. It is a full size compact just as the Shield is not a pocket carry bur a concealed carry gun. 3 very different sizes. Remember that carrying a prayer is more important than carrying a gun.

I'm glad that you showed this pistol cuz I can't stand dangling a pinky. IT's miserable to be forced into not having a solid grip on the pistol. To me it matters, that's just me. Toss in Glock, Spfd XDM compacts and a host of them, can't stand having to buy something to compensate for NO grip.
How has yours been, and was it on the recall list? Just got one for 300, and im praying i have no problems because the gun is just an absolute steal if it works
Sorry Im not sure. Ive never held a TX22. Its very close in size to the P365 and Hellcat if that helps. You may want to check out the website Handgun hero. They have a lot of different guns that you can compare sizes with.
Do some have issues, sure they do. Did some Shield Plus have issues? Did the Sig P365 have any issues? Did the Glock 42 or 43 have issues? It’s a big yes to all. Thanks for the video and think it's one of the best comparison's on the GX4.
After shooting around 350rds of various ammos, JHP, 115, 124, 147, and never having a problem. I would trust this gun for carry now. However with that said I would recommend you do your own test first.
@@jeffehlers9893 Its been a minute since I shot a 365. I would put it very close to the 365. It was less snappy to me than a Hellcat. I shot my buddies at the range side by side with the GX4 and I like the GX4 a lot better than the Hellcat.
I bought my GX4 for my NEW EDC in June 2021 and have had 0, No, issues to this date and have run over 2,000 rounds. Wasn't looking for a firearm that was Optics ready or had a 'rail'. I wanted a small 9mm that would be the best for self defense, concealment, yet have quality and be dependable. I wasn't going to be in any shooting competition with the GX4 as I have other firearms for that. Purchased the GX4 at my local Scheels and got the last one in stock at that time - 329.00. Received the pinky extensions (2) for the two 11 rd mags that were included and that completed the grip for me....good to go with my pinky on board. Of course my 13 rd mag has the extension. That's all I needed to do to get the GX4 the way I wanted it on my hip...or wherever I carry it. Recently upgraded to the Tru-Glow sights which is a great add-on over the factory sights. Also have now a Viridian Red Laser which was an easy mount not having a rail.
I do most between 5yds - 10yds. I believe its the FBI that states 3 yards is most common in all shootings. I shot this one at 3yds because I was more interested in how the Taurus would handle so many different types of ammo.
Sounds crazy, but humor me... Try the large backstrap and see if it doesn't help with both the trigger finger rub and reloads. @Arkansas Outdoors Channel
Sending mine back for the second time!!! Slide will not stay locked back with no mag. Taurus replaced the slide catch the first time, now they are going to replace the slide and slide catch...idk not very happy with this gun. If anybody is thinking of getting the Gx4, don't!! Spend a little more and get the Shield Plus!
Wow I havent heard of anyone else having problems like that. Good luck on getting it back working. Maybe you can trade it for something that makes you happier. So far I'm about 500rds in with zero issues.

Canik is a GREAT gun. My Mete SFT is incredibly accurate, nice balance, awesome trigger, good feel. Everything about this gun is great.

Weird! I never had that issue. Are you using a holster made specifically designed for the GX4? What holster is it?

I dont own a GX4 but ive been interested in it for a bit. I think in my humble opinion that its a better looking gun than the 365.

Just make sure you spend the time training and working on firearm safety and you will be fine with this pistol.
The g3c came out like 2 or 3 years ago. The g2c came out a few years before that.
Maybe it was the G2C I was talking about. The pistol I had and that my mom still uses is more than 5 years old for sure.

Do some have issues, sure they do. Did some Shield Plus have issues? Did the Sig P365 have any issues? Did the Glock 42 or 43 have issues? It’s a big yes to all.

Why did you look left and right? Was someone coming out of the woods?
Its a training tool to make sure you are aware of your surrounding and its to help you see if more targets are available.

Would you carry it
After shooting around 350rds of various ammos, JHP, 115, 124, 147, and never having a problem. I would trust this gun for carry now. However with that said I would recommend you do your own test first.
How snappy compared to the 365?
@@jeffehlers9893 Its been a minute since I shot a 365. I would put it very close to the 365. It was less snappy to me than a Hellcat. I shot my buddies at the range side by side with the GX4 and I like the GX4 a lot better than the Hellcat.

I bought my GX4 for my NEW EDC in June 2021 and have had 0, No, issues to this date and have run over 2,000 rounds.
Wasn't looking for a firearm that was Optics ready or had a 'rail'.
I wanted a small 9mm that would be the best for self defense, concealment, yet have quality and be dependable. I wasn't going to be in any shooting competition with the GX4 as I have other firearms for that.
Purchased the GX4 at my local Scheels and got the last one in stock at that time - 329.00.
Received the pinky extensions (2) for the two 11 rd mags that were included and that completed the grip for me....good to go with my pinky on board.
Of course my 13 rd mag has the extension.
That's all I needed to do to get the GX4 the way I wanted it on my hip...or wherever I carry it.
Recently upgraded to the Tru-Glow sights which is a great add-on over the factory sights.
Also have now a Viridian Red Laser which was an easy mount not having a rail.
Mine has been flawless as well

Maybe you already know but your volume goes way down when you are speaking from the target. Then about halfway thru video goes out entirely.

I do most between 5yds - 10yds. I believe its the FBI that states 3 yards is most common in all shootings. I shot this one at 3yds because I was more interested in how the Taurus would handle so many different types of ammo.
G3’s did not release 8 yrs ago!!!!
Someone pointed out that it might gave been the G2. Ive owned too many guns since then.
Sounds crazy, but humor me... Try the large backstrap and see if it doesn't help with both the trigger finger rub and reloads.

Dremel that trigger down in size and round it’s edges to let your finger have more room and not pinch it.
Sending mine back for the second time!!! Slide will not stay locked back with no mag. Taurus replaced the slide catch the first time, now they are going to replace the slide and slide catch...idk not very happy with this gun. If anybody is thinking of getting the Gx4, don't!! Spend a little more and get the Shield Plus!
Wow I havent heard of anyone else having problems like that. Good luck on getting it back working. Maybe you can trade it for something that makes you happier. So far I'm about 500rds in with zero issues.
Sent mine in last week. Gun won't fire, slide won't engage, feed jam, and magazine slides out.
@@asuchemist3371yup, mine FTF light primer strikes and dead trigger no reset. Haven’t had much luck send stuff in for repairs in the past with other companies
