John Walker Kills a Flag-Smasher with The Shield Scene [No BGM] | The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

- John Walker, newly empowered after sneakily taking the last of the Super Soldier Serum, flying into a rage after Karli accidentally kills his partner Lemar Hoskins, aka Battlestar, with a single super-powered punch to the chest.
Karli manages to slip into the crowd, but Walker runs down her fellow Flag-Smasher, Nico, on the street and publicly kills him with Cap's shield. As you'd expect, most of the crowd record this dark moment, and the image of the bloodied shield is broadcast to the world.
The image of Walker slamming his shield into a fallen enemy goes back to Captain America: Civil War, in which Steve Rogers does the same to Iron Man to disable his armor. The difference is that Steve stopped when his opponent was beaten, while Walker gave in to his bloodlust.
What do you think of the fight? Did you find any interesting facts in the scene? Do you have any suggestions or ideas? Share your opinion with the world in the comment section below. I put the video in 4K, extracted the background music score, and removed the irrelevant parts of the scene to help you focus thoroughly on CGI, SFX, and the acting.

Still don’t get how we were supposed to sympathise with Karlee and the flag smashers. They were annoying and insufferable
Agreed but what's more annoying is that the writers tries to make John as the bad guy/asshole instead. Even Sam tries to sympathetic towards Karli and her gang who is a terrorist but yet hates Walker only just because he is Captain America which is dumb and completely so stupid
@@dimazfantasy5252 why Sam hated John becoming Captain America doesn't make sense since it was him who turned down the shield bestowed on him by Steve but I understand why Bucky would hate Sam and John because of rejecting Steve's legacy
@@dogswifty7800 Bucky hate John because he was a Captain America and the shield was given to him by the government when it was should've been for Sam instead.
Bcz Sam live both worlds and he knows Karli its just a kid who does not fully understand what shes doing. Basically she is what Sam could be if he takes the other side...
Those were the worst part of the show, the other stuff with Isiah Bradley was actually far better handled even if it was very preachy, compared to the flag smashers nonsense that was miles better
Karli: *Punches man full force into concrete*
Also Karli: 😮
she was devastated and shocked too how brutal her friend got murdered
but she's responsible for his death
and John had every right to be outrageous and kill that guy
remember the phrase Eye for an Eye
life for a life
😂😂😂😂
And it's not like she had the intent to kill someone
"This is the only language these people will understand"
Walker: karli can you understand "flagsmasher"?
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Pffft... And that's why they nearly had to bring in the military to stop the Hatfields and Mccoy's feud. There's a time when chosing to take no action is an action, and you must pick up arms and fight, but too often it's taken too far and justified by bad logic or the wrong reasons all together in deceptive ways. I think that's why sometimes philisophical and religeous figures like Christ gave vague or imprecise answers in regards to these matters, knowing that almost no matter what their reply was it would be twisted to excuse violence so they were cryptic trying to give less of a chance for their words to be abused.@@DVDTAPEAFKs
“It wasn’t me!”
Bro you tried to help kill John like one minute ago. Which is what led to Lemar dying! Dude is so full of shit.
No more full of shit than the people acting like Walker was the bad guy here.
Flagsmashers are the most embarrassing antagonists the MCU has ever come up with. The fact that they tried to make the audience sympathetic towards them is totally laughable.
Who the fuck is your "bro?"
@@NoCallerID70457 Is this really the first time you’ve seen someone use “bro” in this context? Or were you just in a bad mood and needed to start a nothing-fight?
@leftoids.are.cringe Nah it just sounded stupid.
0:59 Ah yes, brilliant idea to engage in knife combat with the fucking Winter Soldier. Room temperature IQ moment.
That's exactly what I thought, like WTF is wrong with that guy.
I think this show wanted me to feel sympathy for that ginger lass. But by the end of the series I though she got what was coming to her 🤷♂️
If anything it made Falcon and Bucky seem like assholes since John did nothing wrong and even saved their ass on multiple occasions even after they told him to screw off.
Im fine with him being treated like a joke but being treated like a villain?? Tony has done far worse to non-superpowered terrorists who definitely surrendered.
Ehhh.. that doesn't excuse stark.@@ratatouilledrinksclorax9897
@@ratatouilledrinksclorax9897Tony was the only avenger who made up for what harm he did.
Agree they tried to make Karli and her gang of Flagsmashers a sad and sympathetic and i don't understand of how Sam thinking they are not terrorists and tries to make peace with them aka tries to do Naruto talk no jutsu technique to her which is very naive while Walker on the otherhand is smart than Sam he is the one who saw Karli and her Flagsmashers gang as a threat to the world and they needs to be stopped.
@@ratatouilledrinksclorax9897 "Tony has done far worse to non-superpowered terrorists who definitely surrendered." can you remind me what exactly he did? im having trouble remembering him killing terrorists who surrendered cuz what i remember is there's one scene in IM3 when he's escaping and fighting the guards when his suit comes piece by piece, there was one guard who didn't shoot at Tony and he said he hated working there and Tony let that guy go.
Walker's action was a basic Human reaction. Let me explain, when a loved one (sibling, close friend, etc.) is killed (especially in front of you), rage, hatred, bloodlust, is all you seek. And unless someone is there right next to you to stop you, more often than not, you don't realize the damage/destruction you've caused until the deed is done.
Also lets be real, Steve has done the same just not infront of civilians, and Tony has done far worse, popping into a room, saying hello, normal non-superpowered terrorists drop their weapons and hands up, tony blows em' up anyway.
John Walker did nothing wrong and did alot right too, the only "wrong" thing is maybe not letting the civilian exploder go to a court but even then he could easily have taken a civilian hostage.
Yeah, that's the basic fascist and broken explaination people use to explain things like that. And while I can't say what all cap might have done in the comics because of different writers, i can defend him by saying that many writers don't stay true to the characters. Like the one time Superman used his heat vision to somehow enter someones brain and magically locate and erase the part of their brain that gave them super powers. While there's few even decent explainations for all of his powers over various incarnations of superman, it's just not something he wouldnt have done in that situation normally.
Read me clearly, if you have lost control, you have lost control. That is bad, period. While you can look at a situation and say, "We can empathize and understand" it does not justify these actions. There's a difference in say, manslaughter and premeditated murder. So in simply leting him off for murder, you'd basically be no better than an accomplice, if this had been real. Hold the coat while others throw the stones, you don't deserve to be let off either. @@ratatouilledrinksclorax9897
There's sympathising/understanding and then there's excusing though. If a normal person "loses control" and kills someone that isn't even fighting back that's murder. If a person of authority does that then it's suddenly not murder?
@@ratatouilledrinksclorax9897 Yeah I hate how some takes shots at Walker for this, But forget steve fought in a World war, did everyone think he just bonked them in the head and gave them a time out? Captain probably has the highest kill count of the whole avengers
@@ratatouilledrinksclorax9897 That’s not what happens with Tony at all. He busts in the room, they start shooting at him, then he incapacitates them, he doesn’t kill them. He says “good talk” right after and it cuts to the people writhing in pain in the ground and someone replies “no it wasn’t”
Tony didn’t kill them.

Walker was ten times as interesting a character as either of the title characters of the show were.
Bucky had a good arc, Sam trying to sympathise with the Flagsmashers was just ridiculous
@@dogswifty7800 maybe. But it feels like something Steve would've done. Tried to defuse a problem before resorting to fighting. And with Sam being a counselor for soldiers as established in The Winter Solider it feels in character for him to try and reason before fighting
@@Michael-eg3rs Steve likes to talk but as soon as hands are thrown he doesn't hesitate to get dirty + it ain't in character at all for falcon. Walker is a vet who went through multiple episodes and yet falcon didn't hesitate to beat his ass and steal the shield off him
@@dogswifty7800yeah, Buckys arc was great, and Walkers was by far the best, he really wasn’t a bad guy, he apologised when Lamar died to his family and tried to dig the right thing and come back, as for Sam his story with Isiah was fine, and him showing that a black man can become Captain America, but the whole “you’ve gotta stop calling them terroristz” and sympathy for them was just so stupid, they tried to make him this morally righteous man but to the extent he just went to was silly, and very uncap like
Walker wasn't interesting at all and Bucky looked washed up im guessing Sebastian didnt workout Sam was the only one that played his role and Bradley of course

😂😂😂😂 Walker looks goofy asf with that shield now same flying with the shield...Amazing Bradley and Sam carried the show
What made me hate Karli so much was her constant contradiction of her motives and actions. She "doesn't want to be a villain" yet the moment she meets Bucky, she *smiles* at the thought of getting to fight him. She acts like she's this ultra powerful all knowing leader...but that's only if she has lackies holding down men for her. If you corner her, use firearms on her, or take away her plan, she suddenly tries to pull the, "I'm just a little girl. I'm scared. I never had a chance..." card. You can't blow up a building full of civilians and be seen as a scared little girl. You can't punch a man and break his neck, *flee afterwards* and be seen as a symbol of unity.
Cant blame john here, they killed his best friend like he was nothing and he dint deserve that
Not to mention superpowered terrorists who target and blow up civilian buildings arent really people who deserve much pity, like nazis.
John did nothing wrong.
They killed his friend like they were in a fight with three known skilled combatants and did not want to tangle with a potential 4th.

@@RanveerSinghKahlon And how did you expect him to control his anger at a time like that? His best friend had just been murdered by terrorists, whose search has cost him a great deal of humiliation on a personal level and on what Captain America represents. John's frustration exploded at that moment.
As if the Avengers hadn't caused much greater collateral damage than simply murdering a terrorist. Tony Stark literally did that in the first movie.
People who criticize John always forget that behind that shield there is a man, a human being.
Stark has caused millions in damage, backstabbed his own friends, gotten cap killed and murdered 8 reserve avengers, and even more. Truth is Stark shouldn't be let off for half of the stuff he does and that doesnt justify anyone elses actions. People do get frusterated because of work, and they do take it out on people by harming someone beyond the scope of lawenforcement and justice. I havent seen the scene except in clips but it sounds like his friend got killed by someone that didnt know their own strength and didnt expect to one shot the guy. There's a lot of this that makes me think they are trying to show the stress of a man trying to step into a legends shoes and how he isnt capable of doing so. He cant handle the stress, he isnt getting much support from bucky and falcon (which is understanadble, but they could have done more for him imo), and he's trying to be someone who he isn't. It's like a cop that cant handle the job so he shoots a guy just because of his race or blows away the driver of a robbery that didnt actually point a weapon at anyone after the gunman gets away, just to vent. It's wrong, hands down. You guys are confusing empathizing and understanding the guys plight with excusing him being out of control and not fit to carry that sheild.@@Warpsmith-Perfide

The fact that we were supposed to view Johns actions as wrong and him as some sort of antagonist while at the same time we’re supposed to view Karli in a sympathetic way just goes to show how out of touch Hollywood is with the average person.
John Walker’s back must really hurt from carrying the entire show
Without the music, it's like a scene out of a thriller movie.
I'm amazed reading people's comments here! Maybe it shows just how terrible the writing was but is the difference between Steve Rogers and John Walker not stark enough for people here! There's a line that there hasn't been another Steve Rogers and that is so true.

The flag smashers should not have be sympathised with at the end of this, they literally murdered and burned people alive in acts of terrorism.
Also John Walker just straight up killed a person who was trying to retreat. That person also didn’t kill his friend in the first place (indirectly responsible but not the one that did it).
His friend died, it’s understandable that he went into a rage, anyone would but when you’re entire job revolves around being someone with upstanding morals and unquestionably good judgement, losing control of yourself to the point you straight up murder someone whose trying to retreat/surrender is the height of reprehensible.

They killed his best friend, his brother basically. No one in their right mind would side with the Flag Smashers. They stopped being victims when they became terrorists and began killing innocent people. One of whom was Lemar. Should he have arrested him and taken him to glean information/stand trial? Yes but in the heat of the moment he was hurting as would we all be. Reprimand Walker, place him on leave, grief counseling and other disciplinary steps would have been appropriate. But instead they court-martial him, strip him of his rank and benefits for killing a terrorist. Even if “it wasn’t him!” he is still responsible by association. If he had killed him in combat no one would have batted an eye but he did it like this and that’s what screwed him over. Zemo was right.
So was he stabbing him with the shield or did he actually decapitate him?
It looked like he bludgeoned his chest
He gave him an impromptu open heart surgery

I still don't understand how can people think that Steve is a better Captain America than John Walker because Steve spared Tony when John killed the Flag Smasher guy. If Tony killed Bucky successfully then I'm sure that Steve would've done the same thing

Nah he did what he had to do fr
Ummm.. wait, what??
Comics: Main scientist is assassinated, steve is the only super soldier serum type. Others are given the serum eventually, but without the stabilization treatment they all go batty and turn into murders and psychos. And I think that one guy what was his name, Nuke? The guy who dressed in cammo and took a blue pill to chill and a red one to go into kill mode? he went down hill fastest of all while at least the second captain american and bucky took a while to degenerate. The only exception is the Red Skull, who uses a cloned body identical to Steves but we find out that even with a cloned body, NO ONE can actually match the original captain america who went through the whole entire procedure and has more actual combat experience and training with other hero's like Hercules and Thor who have been fighting for CENTURIES.

u will never know how i get this many likes.
john maybe be stronger or same as bucky ,maybe.
Blood on the symbol of a hero is a great disgrace to the original bearer
"Gidi; The Burden is hardest to bear"
In the comic version of the civil war there was a lot of that. Characters acting totally out of character, illogically aggressive and violent, an extra dimensional 'gutanamo' where hero's got locked up without a trial, etc etc etc. It was a politically charged story line that ended with cap dead and to add insult to injury he wasnt even burried on american soil which i felt was a huge insult. People even acted like they werent following cap because he was right or they believed in his cause, but just because of his name. Just because he carried the title and the shield. Blind loyalty the concept of 'the great american hero'. But writers like that have been trying to treat cap like a mentally unstable, burnt out soldier who is an old fossil that should be forgotten, even casting him in a light as being undesirable for being 'left wing' i.e. socialist or american democrat, when captain america was never about politics other than promoting america despite all it's flaws and always trying to put it's good side forward. Thus they undermine and soil anything positive about america not linked directly to racism, greed, and abuse of class and wealth. Thus blindly shooting their own nation in the back while character assassinating cap.
Steve Rogers killed plenty of people.
I should point out that his actions were illegal. He is still an active serving member of the US military who illegally entered Latvia (a fellow NATO member) and killed an unarmed man in full view of numerous civilians who was also a Latvian citizen. That makes it, in the eyes of the world, a US soldier who murdered a foreign citizen on said citizen's home soil.
Counter: That ‘unarmed man’ was a super soldier who’s punches were strong enough to break concrete and could easily kill with a single hit. This means he's never unarmed and is still dangerous.
Not to mention that the man in question had assisted in the murder of a US citizen on foreign soil and hence was a hostile threat. Not to mention the civilian is a known terrorist who was about to murder John.
What does it matter is the fight was in front of a crowd or not? If the writers were honest about this, they’d remember they had also saw this same guy throw a concrete water fountain that would have killed people if John hadn't blocked it.
But let's be serious, if they didn't make him go to Latveria without informing his superiors, getting authorization from them, or getting reinforcements to take down the entirety of the Flagsmashers, then the show would have ended there. But the writers, on multiple occasions, make the characters act stupid to tell the story they want to tell.
No, cause' it's like this, you either go in peacefully or if you resist you have suffer the consequences.
@@Lobsterwithinternet also remember Tony did the same things if not worse, popping into a room, saying hello, normal non-powered terrorists drop their weapons, tony blows em up anyway.

You know, I feel like the thing people are missing here is that Walker didn’t just kill someone. He executed a man in full view of the public. Having a new Captain America was supposed to make people feel safe. Beating a man to senselessness and caving his skull in with the shield on video will not make people feel safe.
It’s not just because he killed someone, it’s because when he lost control, he went way. Too. Far.
He did not.
That dude was a terrorist who has taken a serum that makes him strong enough to throw concrete blocks/trash cans like they made of plastic, strong enough to kill a person with a single blow. He has displayed zero concern for civilian safety, tried to kill Walker and aided in killing Lamar.
Walker knocked him down three times, and two times dude tried to stand back up and fight, instead of surrendering. Even when lying down he still didn't even try to surrender, instead he was stalling with whining about how "It wasn't me". If Walker hesitated, there was a high risk of this guy jumping up and taking civilians hostage.
He was, for all intents and purposes, extremely dangerous and armed, and Walker (a soldier, not a policeman, by the way) had no way nor obligation to apprehend him.
Killing him was the most logical choice, and since Walker had nothing on hand but the shield, he used that. Was it messy? Yes. But killing people is always messy.
@@user-yp6vy1oq5d I agree. Walkers a soldier while this guy is not only a terrorist but a super enhanced one. Very dangerous. Being court martial or acting like he was a monster was such a joke. But that’s marvel for you
@@user-yp6vy1oq5dNah, he went way too far.
Dude are you blind that dude was a super soldier terrorist who kills civilians, blew up buildings, and tries to terrorize the world he deserved it. John Walker is a soldier who was sent by the government to stopped The Flagsmashers once and for all besides that man deserves it, he was holding up John so that Karli could kill John until Karli kills Lemar
I'm on Walker's side
Here the point is not he did right or wrong here point is Steve Rogers Captain America never did this
who ist john walker ? YOU MEAN SAM CHRIS ?
You never read a comic and it shows lowlife
So he executed an international terrorist wanted for murder, what's the problem here?
The people that were there didn't know he was a terrorist so as Far they could tell he just murdered with cold blood innocent man.
@@ksaweryjanowski827 So Sam and Bucky ganged up on him and stripped him of the shield all because of bad PR?
@topknot01 no because he didn't deserved it.
@@ksaweryjanowski827 You just said "The people that were there didn't know he was a terrorist so as Far they could tell he just murdered " Sam and Bucky saw the side they didn't.
[Sin música] pone música
Your stupid outro music kinda ruined the ending which was the main part 😒
his back must hurt from single-handedly carrying this show (still trash tho)
Fr
John Walker should have changed its name to capital justice
You know your writing is shit, when you try to make the terrorists sympathetic and the guy who stands up to them a villain...
John did nothing wrong!
