FILM DESCRIPTION:
Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home. Along for the ride is Jia, an orphaned girl who has a unique and powerful bond with the mighty beast. However, they soon find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla as he cuts a swath of destruction across the globe. He’s a Kaiju that has reptilian characteristics that’s all there is to it. But entirely a whole different specie.
Fun fact: According to the official novelisation of the movie, when godzilla and kong both roar kong is actually daring godzilla to kill him. this act shocks and impresses goji and he decides to let him die in peace as a show of respect (he knew kong was done for anyway)

Nah Godzilla was just toying with Kong all the while until he got hit by the axe and then went on all fours and full savage mode. With ghidorah, he was in full savage mode throughout, just that ghidorah is more powerful than him. (Not in burning Godzilla form）

Honestly, respect to Kong. Considering Godzilla was toying with him most of the movie, he managed to bring out the most savage form of Godzilla we’ve ever seen. Even garnered Godzilla’s respect.

Lots of respect to Kong indeed. He put up an amazing fight against Godzilla, even though he lost the fight in the end.
However because of this Godzilla basically needed to break character in which he would actually annihilate Kong then and there by firing an atomic breath at his chest. But again it will just ruin a lot of things however Kong lost real badly despite having the most plot armour in the movie.

I liked this scene because it showed Godzilla getting a little more animalistic and savage with his fighting style. Either because he was getting more serious or underestimated Kong's fighting.

I was on Team Godzilla. And I was happy he won. But I honestly felt scared for Kong, when Godzilla went beast mode on him.

I remember seeing this scene in IMAX, and I was honestly speechless. I had been Team Godzilla from day one, but I had found myself to care and respect Kong throughout the movie and I even found myself kind of rooting for him from a character perspective. This scene made me so sad for him, but at the same time, filled me with so much primal joy from seeing Godzilla almost effortlessly declare himself as the definitive winner. Amazing.
My view of the film is that it’s a Godzilla movie with Kong as the main character

Most brutal Godzilla fight moment that comes to mind is MechaG lasers Goji's neck causing blood to splurt out everywhere.
Honestly rhe original MechaG fight is probably a close second to the best Godzilla fight imo. It's so good.
I like how Godzilla uses all of his weapons - claws, hands, breath, tail, legs - incredible! Definitely the King!

You can really see the difference between how Godzilla addresses his way to combat other titans.
Compared to his fight with Ghidorah which he at first attacked quickly but then teamed up with mothra after getting reawakened and now against kong which at first was testing him, then hunting him, to finally straight up disciplining to set him in his place before walking away without a second thought.
Yup I really like this monsterverse, They give these titans so much personality without uttering a single word.
for Kong it was to control..For Ghidorah..it was a Definitive Invasive Species that needs to be eradicated.

Love the shot at 0:30. Not only is it one of the longest fight shots without interruptions, but it just lets you live in the moment of the fight and realize how big these two are. Sound design is on point too
Also shows Godzilla using his back spikes for defense and Kong just desperately trying to tank taking them to the chest when he is slammed into the building. But he loses grip enough for Godzilla to grab him.
So many colours and neons made it look like a shot out of "Godzilla: Save the Earth". Remember that game? :D

If you look closely, Kong punched Godzilla’s Leg where kong had stabbed Godzilla with the axe. And when you look, you see a lot of blood shoot out his leg.
These monsters are sentients and can show empathy. No wonder ancient humans worship Godzilla.

I’ve been rooting for Godzilla and I knew he’d be the inevitable winner, but mad respect to Kong. He brought out the worst side of Godzilla. Not even Ghidorah pissed him off this much. I also love how animalistic Godzilla’s movements are. The amount of detail put into this is outstanding. Though Kong was clearly outmatched, he proved his worth and physical prowess, he’s definitely earned my respect.
Ghidorah pissed Godzilla the most, he literally killed Godzilla's love, Mothra. You can see when Godzilla went thermonuclear he REALLY wanted to kill Ghidorah.
@@Jagaros7277 No. Godzilla was smiling during his final fight in his thermonuclear form with Ghidorah and that was after Mothra died, he didn’t seem too bothered about her death, especially since Mothra can reincarnate. Ghidorah did piss Godzilla off a lot but NOT the way Kong did. He enraged Godzilla to the point he went full beast mode on him and was fighting in a much more animalistic fashion. This was Godzilla at his angriest.

I really love this fight for two big reasons 1. Kong puts up one hell of a fight against an opponent he's clearly outmatched by and even made Godzilla go Croc Mode, which apparently means he's had enough and is pretty pissed off, and 2. seeing more variety in Godzilla's attacks. We've seen this sprinkled in throughout the previous two Godzilla movies, but here he acts more animalistic while still using his atomic breath. He bites, he claws, he stomps, it's something I wish Toho would do with their version, because while the atomic breath is awesome it kind of makes every fight feel a bit samey when he's just blasting it over and over.

Except he didn’t use his atomic breath at all and that should be more than enough evidence to conclude that he doesn’t need to rely merely on his radioactive breath alone as a finisher against kong. In this round, it was all aggression, and close hand to hand combat and Godzilla was dominating kong left and right.
I loved that he even adapts with his surroundings, he charges at Kong head first into a building but also using his arms to throw rubble at Kong, blinding him for a follow up attack
@@masoodrahimi6083 You're mostly correct imo. Kong did well and would've hurt Godzilla here, there's absolutely no way Gman didn't feel the axe in his left leg, or whatever happened in that clash. And Kong most likely has the hardest punch out of any titan, Gman took quite a few of his punches here. It was enough to gain Godzilla's respect.
@@jaredkelly7218 That and combined with the fact that Kong literally roared in defiance was what made Godzilla accept him as a titan worthy of gaining his respect and acknowledgment. Also in my personal honest opinion, while Kong was holding his own pretty well, most of the blows he landed had no real damaging effect whatsoever, aside from the charged axe of course.

Straight up savage mode! The most badass godzilla has ever been, he has never moved in such a way to fight anyone else. And the way he walks off at the end like "you were never competition" is just gold. Alot of emotion without a single word in this scene. You could feel the frantic emotions of each monster as they fought.
Kind of weird how Godzilla never fought like this against Ghidorah and the Mutos would've definitely saved him a lot of time
@@elharvey5032 they weren't as nimble as kong nor did they have the type of weapon kong had. I think godzilla determined this difference and acted accordingly. It seems as if he could be even more fierce, given the energy to do so

I find it really interesting that the Director confirmed that throughout the fight, Godzilla was just Toying with Kong, it's only when Kong started to get on his nerves is when Godzilla started getting serious which was near the very end of the fight and just like that, Godzilla immediately ends and wins the fight
Before someone comments on this guy and says the director was stupid for saying that (I’ve seen other people replying to comments and saying that), I’m just going to point one thing out.
Godzilla basically fought like an animal at the end there, biting and scratching like a feral creature. No atomic energy, no dramatic charging, just leaping on and attacking. As much as I love Kong, you take away his size and all you get is a gorilla who’s smarter than average
@@I.T.P I highly doubt a Gorilla can fight the way Kong can and utilize weapons like he can. It's really an oversimplification and G's build without the Atomic Breath is really bad in comparison to Kong's. Even with the Atomic Breath it's straight dodgable and not that harmful unless it's internal. I'd be more scared of Kong than Godzilla.
@@kiyoshi3313 Godzilla’s atomic breath being dodgable depends on the version of him, Shin being a bid example of undodgable, as he apparently has entirely 360 degree awareness of his surroundings, even while asleep.
But yeah, I know a Gorilla couldn’t really fight the way Kong can, I literally said smarter than average in the original comment.
I agree with the whole “I’d be more scared of Kong” statement, people just take first impressions too seriously. Take the first Jurassic Park movie as an example. Right off the bat you’d think the T-Rex is the biggest threat, being literally big and carnivorous. But no, it’s the raptors, who are actually smart for the most part. They aren’t massive, or all that powerful, but they’re clever, and smart. (I know Jurassic Park isn’t entirely accurate to actual Dinosaurs in question, but I’m using it anyway because the example fits what I’m saying.). But then you get to the end of the movie, and the T-Rex kills both the remaining Raptors, proving that both sides have their strengths, they also have their weaknesses. The Raptors were the bigger threat, but they couldn’t hold up to the brute strength of the T-Rex. And while the T-Rex was definitely the most physically powerful threat there, it wasn’t the biggest threat simply due to it being outmatched by the Raptor’s intelligence.
So yeah. At face value, Godzilla seems the scarier monster, especially in appearance. But Kong is more intelligent, and a much better problem solver and used many tactics and weapons in his fights. One gets your fear through appearance, the other earns it through their actions.

Sure, Godzilla may look intimidating at first glance, but his proportions and attributes are miniscule. The tail, I'll give em that. That's a threat. But large canines, giant muscular arms, and a agile build with his proportions should be more capable. I'd be more afraid of Ooga Booga hurtling at me through my city than a giant slow moving, tiny head-n-claws-lizard walking towards it. Like, Lizzie makes more sense. She's terrifying, in appearance and realistic capabilities.

Yeah and that goes with Godzilla being much older as well that, Kong has never truly fought an enemy like Godzilla. Nothing that is prehistoric and has atomic energy or any kind of energy in their biology. So I think it's safe to say that even with that being the case, he put up a good fight and Godzilla definitely respected him for it. Especially since he helped with Mechagodzilla as well. I have high hopes that the monsterverse will get a lot bigger now that we've seen the Hollow Earth and Kong is basically the King of it.

As a gfan myself I have to admit kong really did hold his own during this fight. A HUGE factor that played into this fight was Kongs lack of experience. Kong has pretty much been fight skull crawlers all his life and never truly faced another alpha titan. The only time he has was against camazotz and even then he needed help. As for Godzilla he already has experience fighting off Kong’s kind before. Overall this was such a great battle

You’ve got to respect Kong for being smaller and weaker than Godzilla and still being able to not only tank blows from him but also send massive punches to him still even after being tossed. He never got the jump on Zilla.

After Zilla was done, he was still able to just fight off Mecha before Kong recuperated, who has basically no stamina limit and is strong enough to kill them both, SOLO. Yeah he may have gotten beaten due to being slightly tired from Kong, but it shows who was where when their fight ended.

Based on some people's reaction to this scene, I think it's safe to say Godzilla crossed his own threshold.
For those who don't know, "The Godzilla Threshold" basically means 'Do whatever it takes to accomplish the goal; Expenses, time, people, resources, ethics, morality, etc. be damned!'
Example: The first Godzilla movie was of course where the trope is defined very clearly, as the Oxygen Destroyer, a weapon to shame even the H-bomb, was used in a desperate attempt to kill Godzilla, after hundreds of casualties and failed attempts. Also, because the threshold was crossed, the creator took his own life to ensure it would never be used again.
Here, Godzilla crosses his own threshold, knowing if he continued to toy with Kong, it could not only result in Kong potentially killing him with the axe, but also allow whatever new threat (MechaGodzilla) to be born, and so gave up on his normal strategy of intimidate the enemy and make them realize he is king, and just began to rely on pure instinct and sheer brute force to ensure Kong could not power the axe, even if that meant no ranged attack.

Cuz the fight wasn't fair lol. Kongs advantage is his ability to wield objects around him to his advantage. They purposely made him lose his axe early on in the fight so Godzilla would win. Godzilla on his own is a tank and Kong knows this, that's why it's a little odd for him to waste his axe early on. Notice how in Kongs fight vs Mecha Godzilla, he didn't throw his axe away because that's his way of doing maximum damage, so why did they make him throw it away when he faced Godzilla?

Kong used the crane and threw it into a building to distract Godzilla so he could jump him BUT then Godzilla head butted a building which created rubble & smoke to hide his tail whip until it hit Kong.
