get the omega but in 41 as it has quickset hour hand (time zone function). I own both datejust and aqua terra, and i can say the aqua terra is a more interesting choice. If u must have flutted bezel, the try the omega globemaster
If you look at the watch itself, the Omega is the clear winner for me. I love Omega, the watch is easily as good and the movement is even clearly better in my opinion. On the other hand...I don't love Rolex. But if "a Rolex is a Rolex" is what you want it would be a mistake to go for the second best thing. Consider the following: If you were able to buy a Rolex for perhaps twice the money you'd get an Omega for, would you actually wear it regularly or would the watch remain unworn or rarely worn out of concern you might scratch it, and sit in its box or in a safe because it's such a substantial asset?
Value for money and Quality Omega is by far the better watch , I have the 41mm AT with the. Lie Dial, I love it , every day watch and it is so comfortable on my 21cm wrist , Love it 😍
have canceled my order for a 41mm datejust as when I tried one on I preferred the AT, just seemed a bit more special plus you can change out the strap for a change. People need to look past the crown.
Not wanting to be mean - but you sound like a a typical Rolex fanboy - ‘it’s not as good objectively buts it’s a Rolex’. You clearly only want the Rolex to say you own, and be seen to own, a Rolex - bit sad really.
There’s no offence taken, but I will say it’s not that I want to be seen with a Rolex. Quite the opposite in fact, I’ve made a video specifically talking about the downsides to luxury watches. In which I put heavy emphasis on the problem of Rolex theft. I thank you for the comment though and hope you enjoyed the video :)
I will walk straight by the Rolex case to look at Tudor as well. Actually was in a dealer a couple of weeks ago and was like yeah that just happened, I just walked straight to Tudor right by the Rolex case.
I’m honestly in a predicament. I get that the omega is the better watch, but I want a Rolex because, it’s a Rolex. And, I have 0 intention to baby the watch; I’d wear it every day (except when it’s dangerous to do so for obvious reasons). I want a daily driver watch that I don’t have to think about changing it up, ever because it’s “the one”. And presently, I suspect that the Rolex can do that, even if I know that the Aquamaster is the better daily driver.
I understand what your saying. It’s personal preference in that case, if money is no object. Then get the Rolex if that’s what you want. If you want a real daily watch I have to recommend the aqua terra, I’ve worn it twice a week minimum for over a year and I’ve never felt worried.
Great insight towards the end of the video, "a Rolex is a Rolex - it's own unique thing. Nothing can replace a rolex" that means something special. Because of that, maybe hold out for the rolex a little longer and continue to save money. If it reaches a price point too high, go with the omega. That still is a great unique piece Cheers
As a Rolex owner, I would get the Omega. If you can find an Omega AD that is also a Rolex AD, but the Omega once you have enough money to buy a Rolex. That way, when you get the call for a Rolex because of good standing purchase history, you will be ready when you get the call!
I think omega is always going to be a better deal. The Seamaster 300 Professional for instance has more features, more color options, and more strap options for half the cost brand new or 1/3 the price of second hand
@@RipiresReviews I personally have one from 2019 in blue(or as I call it the goldeneye). Absolutely love it, and wear it extremely often. Seriously I haven’t even been careful and can’t get enough. Want to buy a second one eventually
@@RipiresReviews oh I will. Absolutely love it and will continue to use and abuse it within an inch of its life. But will eventually add more to the collection
Go for the Omega. I have the AT Gauss model and it’s great. Traded in a Datejust 36 for an Omega “Great White” and cash and knew immediately I’d made the right call.
Just talk to someone who works at Omega, so nice and friendly, welcoming you might say. Then go talk to some one from Rolex, oh wait...... LOL! That is my point, I am beyond the bullshi* that goes with Rolex.
You brought a number of good points in your video however I’m curious to know how accurate is the Rolex compared to Omega? I have an Omega Seamaster Bond watch and I checked the accuracy daily for 3 months and the watch was running + 0.35” fast on average per day 😱, this is fantastic accuracy for a mechanical movement. Can the Rolex compete with this?
There is no substitution in these cases. You cannot get an alternative to Rolex. Forget Rolex, you cannot get an alternative to Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi. I thought Explorer II would do, but it doesnt. If you want Pepsi, you want Pepsi. (Luckily, I didnt lose money on that transaction). On side note, yeah I do accept alternative on soft drinks, be it Pepsi or Coke.
If you are young 20s to mid 30s go ahead and get the Omega. Why? Because you're still going to get the Rolex and you need that itch scratched. 40's 1/2 and 1/2. 50 and over get the Rolex.
Very true, and of course the reason there are so many fake Rolex is because they are so easy to copy and make. Much harder to copy and fake a display case back Omega with a coaxial movement using modern materials such as silicon.
I might be late viewing this video but I sincerely hope you waited for the Rolex? I own and have owned watches from both brands. Rolex is far superior in fit, finish and you know deep down that its more special. If youre going to own an Omega then make it a Speedmaster
If your heart is set on a Rolex, don't settle for an Omega. You'll just end up thinking about the Rolex and try to rationalise your decision. Then before you know it, you become one of those easily triggered Omega fanboys who tell everyone that Omega is superior to Rolex. Only buy the Omega if you really want it.
Buy the AT! It's a better watch, from a better brand. The Omega has far superior technology, a crisp clean finish that makes the Rolex look like a badly painted Tonka Toy, it beats the Rolex in every way. Of course, apart from residual values, although Rolex secondary values are now dropping more than other brands, as they were up on a high perch to fall from.
When Rolex shot up in price because of scarcity, Omega became the next Tudor, it's for people who can't afford Rolex grey prices and are not rich enough to impress the AD🤣 Omega fanboys save their money to buy a watch, Omega AD doesn't care, but Rolex does and now they're bitter to Rolex bec they got dissed for not being rich enough
@@RipiresReviews Rolex knows the serial numbers and so they are either a) selling directly to grey market b) know who is and appear more than willing to sell them more new watches to them knowing where they are likely heading so are 100% complicit in the whole grey market caper. I own 2 rolex sports models and one Omega on a serious note go for the Omega keep’s better timing and rolex is over hyped

Deciding between actually a better watch vs people's perception of a better watch... Rolex is a genius at brand management.

Omega for price, brand name and availability plus you can get discount on new one. I believe the movement on Omega is better also.

Omegas always run fast. So you can only be early. Rolex is +\- 2 seconds. However, often it’s just luck of the draw.
