Folks don’t realize that he uplifts his community and people. He does charitable “work”, like spend time teaching classes or doing community work. He donates money. Did you realize he made sure the Pop up concert was for his city?? They say he returned money from folks out of town so in town folks could get those seats. He employed Tommy’s crew of kids to dance in video who were from his childhood area. He did not copyright his diss music so content creators could eat/make money. Tell me, what other 17 Grammy and Pulitzer Award winner does this?? If he was greedy, he’d have kept these profits to himself.

I do. Welp! I come from a place where prayer has been instilled in me from a child. I pray often alone, or with my friends and family. Whenever I feel overwhelmed we pray together. I was listening to one of his songs where he says “ain’t nobody praying for me “ It struck a chord in me and I thought to myself it cost me nothing to pray for a stranger. Before going on my daily walks with my co-worker we pray on a conference call with her family for peace and protection. We pray for things that we don’t understand that goes on in the world. So it’s common that we pray for ppl we don’t know personally all the time. Prayer it changes things we are all God’s ppl. He is providing a balance to the complete and utter failure of rap/hip hop to do it on its own. Spiritually, he has his work cut out for him because it’s a heavy lift the devil has been ruling it for decades. There are ppl in that industry that don’t want any positivity in that genre of music. It has been so profitable for them to spread a false narrative about Gods ppl. The battle is spiritual.
The fact that this is one of the only times ive seen an incredibly rich person give the “money doesnt make you happy” shpeal and then to immediately follow it with “i cant speak to those still in the hood cause they dont have anything” speaks volumes to his character and his mindset. I hate “money doesnt make you happy” shit millionaires give out but he has understanding and nuance. Not with the bs, just tryna be him
It shows wisdom to acknowledge he can’t preach this message to those without money because they can’t understand and will always roll their eyes and assume dishonesty. But I think Kendrick is absolutely right that if your sole motivation is accumulating wealth, you will never be satisfied or happy

I feel like making millions of dollars consistently has diminishing returns. At some point the glow of "holy crap i'm making so much money" will fade and then you'll find yourseld strugglingnto figure out what to do with all of it. Especially once you've had your spending sprees. If that buzz is what made you feel good and you get addicted to it, you will spend of your life chasing that buzz trying to make more and more money but the buzz will always get weaker.
