I love how much you enjoy Andy Bell / Erasure. This song isn't played much anymore on the main radio channels, so it's great to hear it again on yours. Thanks.
Dude you are just the best reactor, you and Amber of Rob Squad are, like, lightning rods for vicarious enjoyment and bang-on interpretation. Edit: You talked over a good part and you actually knew TO REWIND AND LET US EXPERIENCE IT the right way with you. Nice! And then you rewound it again! Story time: I was in Barcelona in spring 1992 when this came out and I was just coming out, dancing on a speaker in a tiny packed gay bar to this and it was one of the highlights of my life.
It's always so enjoyable watching you react to disco-style music, Salvo--your eyes were actually GLEAMING several times during the reaction! There's definitely a dancer in you, just itching to get out. 🤩
@deborahpaley21 pet shop boys performed on strictly come dancing (og UK version of dancing with the stars) The Blackpool ep on Saturday.it's the shows 20th anniversary.chris had that same expression lol
Such a great group and have been to see them live many a time. So many other songs you'll love from them. Some of my favourites are Ship of Fools, Sometimes, Always, Run to the Sun, Stop, Drama and Fingers & Thumbs. Please carry on with the Erasure journey, if you love what you've heard so far, you're in for a good time
I love Erasure and I love this song!! They're still making music. Some of their more recent songs that I love are "Breathe", "I'll Be There", "Based On a True Story", "Under The Wave", they also did an ABBA cover album Abba-Esque which is awesome
You have to do the Abba-esque extended play [4 covers of ABBA songs]. The video of "Take a chance on me" is a cover of ABBA's too. I first saw it in France [on MTV] and could not believe what I was seeing! lol
You loving these groups is awesome. But hearing you were born in 91, which was the year I passed my doctoral qualifiers, made me feel old for a second, but just for a second. Then the music started.
I have always been into hard rock and metal, and in my teens, was seeing this girl who was into Erasure. Who I saw as a band that ‘gay guys’ listened to. She played this album for me, and since then Erasure has ever been a guilty pleasure. Love them guys. Great songwriting, catchy hooks, incredible vocals!
Of all the artists I've gotten to watch you enjoy, your enthusiasm for Erasure/Andy Bell is perhaps the most wonderful to get to witness. Such a delight to see you get back to Erasure. I cannot wait for more. I hope you'll do all 3 of other of the 4 singles from Chorus. The album is just a superb offering (the three releases, The Innocents, Wild!, and Chorus were all spotless LPs released one after the other as the 80s ended and the early 90s began). Liked and shared.
1982 through 1992 was such a fantastic period, culturally artistically, musically and mentally. The energy and vibe was off the scale. Everyone having such a great time. Nothing like it since.....................
6:18 video tracking just says is all. Talent. Great reaction. 🙂 Not only is this just a brilliant track but the video itself is from a different era. Creative sets, camera work and editing. No CGI, AI, IG Filters, Good solid practical fun for all! And the water runway… come on!
Took me directly back to being 20 years old in the biggest gay club in the city, wearing something outrageous, in the middle of the dance floor having the best time ever!
So my memory is similar age, but roughest bar/club you can imagine, mining town in South Africa, ABBA Esque had just come out and it was huge, there were so many fights every night, got my ass kicked a few times, some times i was handing out the ass kicking. But the pure joy on the dance floor was something I have not experienced since, apart from maybe Faithless
My favourite Erasure song! I did have tickets for their show in Belfast a couple of years ago, but to my devastation, it was cancelled. Thanks for reacting to this. ❤
This same hook/riff from “I will survive” was also used in “Supreme” by Robbie Williams as well as other songs - if you haven’t listened to “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor, I’d recommend giving it a listen. Best wishes from 🇦🇺🫶
Do this whole album! This and The Innocence and I say I say I say are their perfect albums with each song being a new favorite! Breath of Life off this album and Chorus are fantastic. Stop! Is phenomenal dance floor filler.
This song is such a banger, a perfectly catchy and snarky pop song. I like the comparisons between a bad relationship and a murder mystery, and how he says "the killer isn't me", putting the blame for the doomed relationship on his partner. I bought the "Chorus" album in late '92, right after my high school graduation. Since I've never been a clubber and never got to hear this song in a club, whenever I put this on in my bedroom, my room was the dance club, for sure lol. I bought a CD single of theirs (of this song, I believe) around '93 , and there was a great b-side: a live cover of Blondie's "Heart of Glass". It was so good, I always thought Erasure should have released a studio version as a single.
I saw them twice in concert around this time. I think it was The Wild tour? I was 15 or 16. My friend was obsessed with them. We actually were right up against the stage. I had a moment with the lead singer when he had a bit of a revealing wardrobe malfunstion and he gave me a look and quickly adjusted lol.
So glad you got to this! This was the second CD I ever bought (REM’s Eponymous was #1), and it stayed in my CD player for months!!! So many good songs on there! 🧡
omg YES!!! Fantastic, Sal - thank you for this!! Love. This. Song. So. Much. Fricking amazing to dance to, FILLED the dance floor. Andy Bell makes me weak at the knees . . . I simply swoon. 😍 SOOOOO many more incredible songs from them. I think you'll love "Chorus," "Breath of Life," and "Lay All Your Love on Me" (ABBA cover) in particular. "Ship of Fools" is gorgeous, but a little somber. But really, whatever you pick will be incredible. 😀
I would suggest Always and Breathe. You probably already know, but Vince Clarke was a founding member of Depeche Mode. He wrote their first three singles and most of their first album before he quit the band. He then formed Yazoo (Yaz in the US) and recorded two great albums with Allison Moyet. Then in 1985 came Erasure and they are still going and still fantastic. Their most recent tour was barely underway when his wife of decades became terminally ill. The tour was cancelled and he was with her when she passed. There are hints that Erasure will be back fairly soon. Vince Clarke is a legend and an icon. He has also done great remixes for many other bands, as well.
Finest band I've seen live, haven't seen a ton, but this includes Def Leppard, U2, ELO, Queen, Moody Blues, Metallica, Guns n' Roses. A big recommendation from the same album is the lead single, Chorus. But as a huge fan I've so many more I'd recommend.
A good start, try these on (I did and lost a few pounds): A Little Respect., Ebb Tide, Oh L'amour, Chains of Love, Sometimes, Stop!, Chorus, Victim of Love
Erasure are not given the credit they deserve. So many absolute banging songs.
Definitely. A great live act too.
Fact!
I cannot tell you how much I love Erasure. They are such an underrated band. So many huge hits and some lesser known gems.
I was hoping you’d do a first time reaction to this amazing hit from yesteryear ❤
NEED more Erasure on here
I love Erasure! They have so many good songs.

Saw them live and this song blow my mind. I remember all the dancers on the stage. You need to check out "Take A Chance On Me"
This band came on and dance floor filled up great to dance to
One of my favourite songs from erasure
It's always so enjoyable watching you react to disco-style music, Salvo--your eyes were actually GLEAMING several times during the reaction! There's definitely a dancer in you, just itching to get out. 🤩
Haven't heard this in years. Your enjoyment was worth the watch. They are great and fun.
Vince Clark's straight facial expression reminds me of Chris Lowe's face from pet shop boys.
Similar to Dave Ball the keyboard player in Soft Cell. Dave went to the same school (different year) as Chris.
true lol

Erasure ... Andy Bell and Vince Clarke ( who is one of the first member of DEPECHE MODE) ......and Vince is, in combination with Alison Moyet, YAZOO.
Soo good miss the 90s so much. Vince Clarke tho in so many great groups over time, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yaz
Andy Bell is amazing! Thank you Sal and Lynn!
You’re Welcome ❤
When I saw them in concert this was fire!
There are so many other amazing Erasure songs! Total rabbit hole! Enjoy
So glad I got to see them live! FUN doesn't begin to describe the show they put on. Also their costumes were incredible if not downright erotic. 😂
Love Erasure! You might check out Blue Savannah next. I also highly recommend you check them out live. Epic band!
Andy Bell is an absolute gorgeous legend!!
Such a great group and have been to see them live many a time. So many other songs you'll love from them. My girlfriend introduced me to this song and flippin love it ever since!!
That's guaranteed to make you move.
Listen to every Erasure song...all fantastic !!!!! X
I love that you're learning about are Erasure! Oh Lamour is my the favorite! Keep up the great reactions! 🎉🎉🎉
This is definitely a hit! Great electronic music that makes you want to dance, great video, "man dancing on water".😂
You have to do the Abba-esque extended play [4 covers of ABBA songs]. The video of "Take a chance on me" is a cover of ABBA's too.
I first saw it in France [on MTV] and could not believe what I was seeing! lol

No matter what song of their's was played at the club, the dancefloor was filled 💯🕺💃🎼

Sledge-dude, you should come see my Erasure vidoes I’ve made on my own page here!
I love Erasure!!!!!

Exactly! Me tooooo
Same! I remember wearing an electric blue vest and shorts with doc martins on and dancing my tits off to it. 😂
So my memory is similar age, but roughest bar/club you can imagine, mining town in South Africa, ABBA Esque had just come out and it was huge, there were so many fights every night, got my ass kicked a few times, some times i was handing out the ass kicking.

So many years spent enjoying Erasure. So many times attending concerts.
Some of the BEST concerts I've ever seen!
One of my Erasure faves!
I love that you, are getting to love this music from the greatest generations of music, 50's,60's,70's,80's,90's!!!
My favourite Erasure song! I did have tickets for their show in Belfast a couple of years ago, but to my devastation, it was cancelled.
Thanks for reacting to this. ❤
My brother's fav band. He introduced me to them....
I played the absolute heck out of this album when I was a kid. Terrific!
What an enormous joy to watch you enjoying this tremendous banger! 🥳

Erasure. Camp as pink knickers, and THE best warm-up music before a night out! Pop! is still one of my all time go-to "feel good" albums
Oh l'amour and Sometimes are excellent.
The I Will Survive hook totally brings you in, and Andy's and Vince's collaboration make you stay.
What a great example of Europop! After the Brits had left American blues fully behind them. Great dance tune. Fun.
FANTASTIV VID, and the track itself is cool. Love it.
Andy’s voice is the best!
Do this whole album! This and The Innocence and I say I say I say are their perfect albums with each song being a new favorite! Breath of Life off this album and Chorus are fantastic. Stop! Is phenomenal dance floor filler.
You have picked my 3 favorite Erasure albums right there!
Great song and video! 💯 💙
Oh Lamour is a great early song from them. Blue Savannah is my favorite though ☺️💙☮️

The whole "The Innocents" album is my favorite!!
TE AMO SALVOG, ERES EL HOMBRE MAS BELLO DEL MUNDO.
omg YES!!! Fantastic, Sal - thank you for this!! Love. This. Song. So. Much. Fricking amazing to dance to, FILLED the dance floor. Andy Bell makes me weak at the knees . . . This was a great concert. Seen them in Detroit at St. Andrews Hall.
Erasure fan since the beginning. Try to see them live, always a great show.

❤
My late father always use to say it reminded him of I will Survive.
You can hear the ABBA influence, which was confirmed when they did those fantastic ABBA covers.
Big fan
You should watch the 2020 live version during covid, his vocals are still amazing and so is the mix.
Like Pet Shop Boys, they're masters of their art.
Got good voices!
Suggestions
Chains of Love
Stop!
Drama!
Vince Clarck es un genio
You're too fun to watch!
♪ I Will Survive ♫ LOL
Got to check out songs from their first album WONDERLAND in 1986, check out the songs: *cry so easy, say what, and: Angel made in heaven*
Chorus album is a banger
Am I right is brilliant track and worth a listen
Salvo was made to be a teen in the 80's xD
Fans must come see my Erasure/Perry Como mix and video where I fuse Perry Como’s original “Magic Moments” with Erasure’s own cover.
This album is perfect.
Chorus, breath of life can you reaction pleasse
You need to watch "Take A Chance On Me" by Erasure if you haven't watched it yet. I love it. They took one of ABBA's songs and made it better.
Pure pop magic! My only criticism is the ending for me. I always felt it was a naff fade out. 😊
Yes they have better songs in my opinion "Stop" "Blue Savannah" "Victim of Love" "The Circus" are just a few
A good start, try these on (I did and lost a few pounds): A Little Respect., Ebb Tide, Oh L'amour, Chains of Love, Sometimes, Stop!, Chorus, Victim of Love
Blue Savannah Song
andy bell and vince clarke. enough said.
