Thank god she seems a lot better now. I watch her and her content is still similar but she is able to ignore bad comments now and has a relatively good following of people, and I haven't seen a bad comment on her youtube channel in a while, so she has definitely redeemed herself.
I'm black and I think the only thing she did wrong was feed the masses and entertained some very inconsiderate Black people, it was embarrassing to watch them repeatedly weaponized the word and directly bully her for something that barely affected them

However its almost essential to be on the internet in this day in age, what people need to learn is how to properly handle these situations, bc only jayus basically added fuel to the fire. and cyber bullying will never end bc ppl are creative and as long as they can hide behind a screen theyll do what they can to attack others they dont agree with or feel like an easy target. its why a lot of social media is seemingly in agreement in politcs, bc if anyone dares to disagree, even slightly theyll try (and often succeed) to bully them off the platform.

Yeah it’s so bad, especially when you’re someone with ADHD. This goes for all people too though. The way TikTok’s algorithm works is that it gives you content you may not like or agree with so you spend longer watching and commenting. And that’s just not good for your mental health to constantly be exposed to so much drama and negativity. I know for myself in 2020 I was completely stuck in TikTok and the whole app was already so toxic and the negativity was REALLY starting to affect me bad. I’m just glad I got off and feel happy for myself that I’m the only one in my friend group not on it. Yes I miss out on the memes they see but I laugh at them surrounding themselves with such a shitty app wasting their life and mental health away.

The justice system struggles to keep up with a lot of newer internet based crimes in the same way it might be able to keep up with a “simple” crime that takes place in real life, face to face (i.e. a robbery) and many people are using this to their advantage to do unacceptable things on the internet with lessened repercussions.

Cancel culture is toxic and holds to the belief that you can never change nor be forgiven no matter how many years go by. It takes a whole lot longer than three days to prove you've learned from your mistakes. That's why the best thing to do, especially in situations where the event in question happened years ago, is to not apologize but also not to defend yourself. You gain a lot of respect by being okay with people hating on you, to an extent, but not caring.

And while the way she responded to all the hate was less than ideal, and she should absolutely work on that with a professional and/or with the help of friends and family, people with ADHD do tend to feel emotions very strongly and it can be very hard to let things go, which is why her response doesn't surprise me at all. I was raised in the south by a very racist family and when we moved to a multicultural town I learned quite a few of the words in my basic vocabulary were racist slurs in some way. There were many words and stereotypes I had to change bc it was the norm where I grew up in an all white town.

Yeah it’s so bad, especially when you’re someone with ADHD. This goes for all people too though. The way TikTok’s algorithm works is that it gives you content you may not like or agree with so you spend longer watching and commenting. And that’s just not good for your mental health to constantly be exposed to so much drama and negativity.
I know for myself in 2020 I was completely stuck in TikTok and the whole app was already so toxic and the negativity was REALLY starting to affect me bad. I’m just glad I got off and feel happy for myself that I’m the only one in my friend group not on it. Cancel culture is toxic and holds to the belief that you can never change nor be forgiven no matter how many years go by. It takes a whole lot longer than three days to prove you've learned from your mistakes. And while the way she responded to all the hate was less than ideal, and she should absolutely work on that with a professional and/or with the help of friends and family, people with ADHD do tend to feel emotions very strongly and it can be very hard to let things go, which is why her response doesn't surprise me at all. It even strikes me as reasonable considering the way ADHD makes you feel things and makes you act impulsively. I should know, because I have it too. I would never act in that way though, I'd remove myself from the situation, and as I said, get some help in dealing with it. But that's because I know myself and have worked on it for years, at my big age of 21. It seems like she might not have the right support system or knowledge to be able to handle it. Especially with all the stress of being a businesswoman and a public figure. I just feel like, *yikes*.

I was raised in the south by a very racist family and when we moved to a multicultural town I learned quite a few of the words in my basic vocabulary were racist slurs in some way. There were many words and stereotypes I had to change bc it was the norm where I grew up in an all white town.

@@stayso4py951 literally every time I'm in convo with someone online I always fact check myself "would I say this to this person's face" answer is almost always yes. But I'm human and Sometimes I feel the power of anonymity but reel myself back in and keep it as respectful as I would in person. A looot og people need that self fact check

Edit: I should clarify that I’m not saying her saying the racist stuff is fine it’s because it’s not but she said it several years ago so it can be debated whether or not she is still accountable for that in present day. Grooming a minor is always disgusting and people should be punished for it even if they did it 10 years ago.
Yeah, and it was a private convo that happened 4 years ago, and people need to get the hell over it. But if some user grooms a minor, they don't get hate for it which is insane.
