As someone who actually has Tourettes, this is the funniest and most ridiculous attempt at faking it I have ever seen.

I have a sister who has always shown all the signs of a personality disorder (lying for fun, lack of empathy, cruelty and indifference to animals, creating elaborate webs of lies to create drama between family members, so on) and she has cut contact with nearly everyone from her past. As soon as someone sees her for who she is, she will never speak to them again, whether they are family who loves her, loyal friends, it doesnt matter. She has no friends left from childhood and is not in contact with anyone from our family other than our mom, because our mom will accept her lies and pathological behavior. If she thought she could gain attention/money from faking tourettes she would do it in an instant.

Now if they’d just come together and finally go after the people faking DID (and combining other disorders to be “unique”) with “alters” they claim to have that conveniently end up being their celebrity crush or some weird anime character they like. The most cringey shit I’ve ever seen on TikTok, which says a lot.
That whole community is nothing but a bunch of people faking shit for clout thinking it’s “cute” since they get attention from it, insisting they’re all raising awareness for the disorder while claiming to totally have it … not understanding that it’s not something that’s as common as they make it out to be. It’s done nothing but hurt those who have been professionally diagnosed and dealt with DID since experiencing serious trauma (normally during their childhood). It’s incredibly fucked up.

I literally have Tourette’s and it isn’t easy to control tics and uncontrollable movements. Her faking it is disgusting

As somebody with more than noticeable Tourette’s, there are so many red flags. Tics are subconscious, so you do them without noticing. She only tics when she is not speaking, tics put a giant strain on your mind and body so she would not be smiling even if she tried if she had tics that severe, and the largest red flag besides how forced the movements were and how you are born with Tourette’s and not diagnosed at age 7 is that she has a different tic in every video, never repeating one. The truth is that the overwhelming majority of people with Tourette’s stick with one tic or multiple tics is severe, for an extended period of time. For example, I had a tic where I nodded my head every few seconds, which later turned into violently shaking my head practically nonstop. It was torture for me because of how many questions and stares I got, not to mention the migraines I would get from it. This went on for a few months until I developed a new tic and dropped that one. Luckily, my Tourette’s have calmed down quite a bit, and I am medicated to help it stay that way. Conclusion: If you’re going to try to lie to someone, do your research first to make it believable.
My older brother has tourettes and also used to shake his head when we were kids. He's also had tics where he would blink really hard, sniffle, or move his hand in a way to make it crack repeatedly. And those are just the ones I've noticed
Yes, tourettes is something that you are born with, it could be hidden until you're older. My brother has tourettes and didn't start to show symptoms until his depression started at around age 7.

i don't have tourette's myself, but one thing that was a giant red flag to me had to do with how tics are subconscious as well. a lot of the time, you can tell she makes a small pause in talking before/after an audible "tic", and she makes faces/expressions during physical ones. real tics i've seen don't happen like this, i knew this one fairly energetic guy who had a harsh blink type tic and he would keep talking on tangents completely uninterrupted and his demeanor never changed or paused. from what i know, auditory tics are very similar, in that it just interrupts speech that immediately resumes right after. you can 100% tell that emerald pauses with a lot of tics, which means she has to *consciously think to do it.*

Yes she could have actually controlled the tics in those older videos or cut parts out of feeling ashamed, but here's the thing, she shows absurd ticks, not only she laughs of it(when the natural reaction would be deleting the video and probably get annoyed at the own tick) but also the clearly fake report. It's not real to find it funny when you can't barely speak a sentence

I had a computer class in high school with a guy who had Tourette’s. Seeing the struggle and pain he went through every single day makes me have zero sympathy for anything bad coming this girl’s way.

Right. As someone who works in Neurosurgery with a background in Psychology, I would like to say: thank you. Thank you for calling out this ridiculous behavior. Choosing your tics, or what they will entail subject wise, is like saying that someone who is suffering from a stroke can choose which side of their body is affected. It does NOT happen. There is a major difference between a neurological or physiological condition of the brain, and pretending to have such a debilitating condition simply for attention and or money. To try and profit from any type of debilitating condition that one does NOT HAVE, should actually be an imprisonable offense. It is fraud, period. 😳

Because of those problems I will never be able to do the job that I'd like to do, I can't go partying because the medication that i take make me nauseas when I smell/drink alcohol. This woman absolutely sucks, shes made such a bad impression to the general public that people with actual tourettes arent believed. I have OCD, and under high stress with OCD tics are a symptom (theyre different than compulsions). I had a tic with my jaw that I was so embarrassed about for like 2 or 3 years as a kid- if I knew that people in the future would fake tics for fun, I wouldve been heartbroken.

For me, I feel like the biggest sign she was faking it was her laughing at her tics. People who live everyday with it learn to live with it and try their best to keep going about their day not trying to bring too much attention to it. The fact that she was giggling and smiling when she'd get "ticks" infuriates me. I've seen people with genuine Touretts struggle with their condition and ticks were extremely bothersome if not painful. For her to be smiling in the face of people who actually have this condition while faking her ticks is unbelievable and disgusting. Then she had the gaul to pull the pity card by saying "I was bullied off the internet". She was the bully. I have ET and sometimes I cannot even eat in public. I had a tremor episode the last time I was at an airport, and people looked at me like I was crazy. On the internet everything is beautiful, in real life people treat you badly for your differences.

I for the past 7-8 years have found myself ticing but never had an official diagnosis because I know it's genetic. But you would never find me posting about my tics for clout despite actually ticing. Some people are just plain disgusting

I have high functioning ADHD and I have a friend with extreme Tourette’s syndrome and I showed some videos of emerald and he hated so much he started to have his ticks in overdrive made me actually scared. He apologised and he was VERY Happy that emerald got bullied off the internet as we cheered as his ticks kicked in and my ADHD went into overdrive like a 6 year old that had an energy drink for the first time😂

While I still use the they/them pronouns to non-binary people (because I have no incentive in saying the "correct" pronouns), and frankly, what Sunny did was wrong (I will get flack for this), but it's strange that a portion of the comment section was willing to defend a con artist who faked their disability for clout just because Sunny misgendered them.
This is pretty terrible in my opinion. As someone who genuinely has Tourette's and has dealt with the symptoms for 30+ years, I'm so disappointed that some people see it as some kind of ticket to success. It really takes away from the people out there who battle with mental health issues every single day, and don't get the luxury of turning it off once the video feed ends. I'm glad this person was held accountable for their choices, and maybe they'll learn a little something about what preaching compassion and tolerance really means.

I have Tourette's, and I laugh about them all the time. I have a pretty severe form with constant swearing, and sentence long tics. A lot of the time I laugh because if I don't I'll cry from frustration, but a lot of the time that I'm with friends while ticcing, I don't mind making jokes about it.

What I will say about that treatment document (or whatever it is she’s got there) she provided at 3:33 is: I know different places don’t all use the same format in documentation, but what is so strange about it is the writing of it all. Mine (sent by email and are online but would look exactly the same printed) with my diagnosis’ have the DSM V diagnosis codes by each one.

Again, I know offices don’t all use the same outline documentation process/program. But the fact is that there is no professional aspect to it and looks like it would be typed up by a middle schooler is suspicious. Don’t know if she typed it up to just have proof in the moment or if she’s really 100% faking.

back in highschool one of my classmates had a really violent tic where one of his legs would suddenly kick up while he hunches and covers his face. It was so bizarre. Another one got paranoid schizophrenia and thought the things on the walls were cameras and they could hear the people on the other end?? just all of the sudden one day they'd look at and talk to christmas decorations and leftover thumbtacks on the wall in an accusatory tone. I'd think they were faking if they didn't look so scared and unhinged. It's not fun and I don't get why people would fake mental illnesses.

When his tics came out as vocal (profanity) the entire 5th grade had to be taught about tourettes syndrome before my son was allowed to attend. Some people have NO idea about the kind hell this condition has put on so many.

I hate peoples who fake it. It takes away the credibility of people with actual tics. I have tics - not Tourette’s, tics are much less severe - and even then they are exhausting. I can’t even imagine how hard it is for people with Tourette’s syndrome and it’s so frustrating to see tiktokers come along and try to make it a fandom. It’s not a fun quirk, it’s a disability and should be respected just like other disabilities should be respected. Also reminder that people with tics or Tourette’s don’t always tic 24/7. An ex girlfriend of mine had mild Tourette’s, and it plagued her every day. She had severe OCD on top of it all. So the random outbursts would drive her insane, and make it 20 times worse. There were times where she would end up having full panic attacks and meltdowns because of uneven out bursts or messes made by a physical tic. It is a horrible, horrible thing for anyone to go through, and I don’t know why this person thought it would be cool or quirky to pretend they had. I don’t know if it was to gain sympathy and traction for the business they had, either way it’s gross and exploitative.

I’m a psychiatric nurse and I’m absolutely positive, that is not a professional note. The terminology is not professional by any means. We don’t call patients “lady” we refer to them as patient/client/sex/pronouns. For example… “patient is a 27yr old female” “she is left handed, and presents with yadayadayada..”
There's a ton of variation in the notes between providers, especially if English isn't their first language. I do agree that "patient is a 27yr old female" is the typical start of a note, but the HPI wording here doesn't definitively tell us anything.

@@TheAnimefool It's kind of hard to explain without actually seeing or experiencing it real-time, but best way I can put it is there was a very clear lack of what I call "automatic movements". Hers looked scripted, as in she knew what was going to happen and reacted/prepared for it. Real tics look almost (and sometimes are) painful, like watching a body in a small car accident. As far as verbal tics, that's a little harder to outright explain, but if you watch example of people who genuinely have the syndrome (SweetAnita is a good example), you can see the differences.

Tourette's usually worsens with anxiety so the fact she had no tics when she made what would have been a very stressful video at the end there speaks volumes on its own.

The big factor is stress. especially when I teach him and it has time limit, that's triggering him. It's sad to watch him ticking, and always comes something "new". It's started a little before he turned 6y old. He has ADHD along with it, so he has behavioral issues too, children don't want to play with him. He can be annoying and easily getting annoyed if someone not nice with him or he has to wait for what he wants. Has anger issues too.

Somewhat they holding back only at public places, but a 6y old (mine 8yold) unable to hold it back 100% in public. In my opinion only adult with T's able to control/ hide it somewhat.

As an actual person with Tourettes Syndrome, I am very infuriated as I can clearly tell it is fake. I am still young but I have already been able to control the, very well. We have medication for it, and there are doctors who give tutorials on how to control it. She should have been able to control them. r/fakingdisorders is a horrible subreddit that has genuinely ruined people’s images online and slandered people to hell, not to mention all the death threats. they have done way more harm than good and do not deserve anyone’s praise 💛
@@NeroPawz I've been seeing absolutely infuriating comments claiming they can tell tics are fake just by looking at them. It pisses me off because even if the person is faking it, there's no way you can tell based on their tics.
