For his noob speach (a tradition) he pointed out that he didn't know anything about advanced economic models but if they wanted to know more about the common man's struggles of daily life, substance abuse (he was a recovered alcoholic) etc. he'd be happy to teach them. That's the mindset he used for his decisions and tbh I would've voted for him again if he had decided to run a second time.
There's a difference between giving homeless people opportunities for additional income and giving them obligations to work. I'm all for allowing them to be able to pick potatoes for extra income but given the common mental and physical health challenges of the homeless, just telling them to work 12 hour shifts is completely stupid

Actually poverty and pets have a strong correlation. Poor people are often criticised for having pets, renters are denied the option to keep pets and yes if a pet is ill it is often put down as poor people can not afford the pet bills. Actually makes sense to highlight it if she grew up poor as it would resonate with the poorer elements of the electorate.
I still think that euthanasia should be a last resort. Have you tried to rehome the cat? Have you tried to give them up to an animal charity? Could the cat have lived ANY OTHER WAY?!

I have worked with poor constituents before, whose pets fell very very ill and treatment cost tens / hundreds of thousands of pounds (remember, animals don't get treatment on the NHS). Charities (especially in the Tories' age of austerity) have very limited capacities for pets with long-term illness. Neighbours (just as poor as you) can't afford to take on your cat, and rich people don't want a mangy old pet. Of course things are better now with the Internet.

Town air is dirty) anyway.. My cats remained on the farm and were perfectly fine. Cats are natural born hunters, if played with correctly as a kitten they have the skills needed to catch things. One of my cats regularly catches wild rabbits which are much faster than domestic ones.

Finding nothing because it was all baseless allegations but, of course, being a black working class kid and a single mum they must be anti-social/'what's wrong with this country', etc. They got no apologies either, kid released to go to the hospital (they didn't even take them there, they had to get a cab) and told to be more careful/'think about your future'!
