We had a comedian run for the danish parliament a few years back on a platform of:
1 - Nutella in army rations

Well, you get it. 😂 There were about 100 points like that. His party was called The Deliberately Workshy (it was only him). AND WE VOTED HIM IN JUST TO PISS OFF THE REST OF THE STUFFY PARLIAMENT!!!

We have a party like that in England called the Looney Party. There's a rule in our politics that's specifically for them. In the event the LP won, we are to have another vote for a serious party

To be honest he never expected to get in and was a little bewildered. 😂 But he actually took it seriously and turned out to be a pretty good politician. For his noob speach (a tradition) he pointed out that he didn't know anything about advanced economic models but if they wanted to know more about the common man's struggles of daily life, substance abuse (he was a recovered alcoholic) etc. he'd be happy to teach them. That's the mindset he used for his decisions and tbh I would've voted for him again if he had decided to run a second time.

There's a difference between giving homeless people opportunities for additional income and giving them obligations to work. I'm all for allowing them to be able to pick potatoes for extra income but given the common mental and physical health challenges of the homeless, just telling them to work 12 hour shifts is completely stupid
They're just throwing out random ideas to gain popularity.

Actually poverty and pets have a strong correlation. Poor people are often criticised for having pets, renters are denied the option to keep pets and yes if a pet is ill it is often put down as poor people can not afford the pet bills. Actually makes sense to highlight it if she grew up poor as it would resonate with the poorer elements of the electorate.
I still think that euthanasia should be a last resort. Have you tried to rehome the cat? Have you tried to give them up to an animal charity? Could the cat have lived ANY OTHER WAY?!
@@peacefulleopard8016 Before the Internet, there were really very few options. I have worked with poor constituents before, whose pets fell very very ill and treatment cost tens / hundreds of thousands of pounds (remember, animals don't get treatment on the NHS). Charities (especially in the Tories' age of austerity) have very limited capacities for pets with long-term illness. Neighbours (just as poor as you) can't afford to take on your cat, and rich people don't want a mangy old pet. Of course things are better now with the Internet.
@@peacefulleopard8016 rehoming is usually an option considered by those who can't afford to feed their pet, have to move somewhere they can't take their pet, or are rendered incapable of looking after their pet (I.e. injury or illness) rather than if the pet requires medical treatment.
But there still needs to be a suitable place to rehome them to.

OMG! THE WILD THORNBERRYS! My kids used to watch that! I was too distracted by the Brits doing what we always do in America...give female politicians a hard time. Everyone is so worried about their hair and clothes, but if you're a guy, nobody cares! I mean look at Trump and Biden. It doesn't matter what side you're on...both have hair issues and are closer to 100 than they'd like to admit...but it's all fine...nothing to see here! Lol The depressing animal story was a nice change from what they do here to women candidates!

@@HotSkorpion Mines have stayed outside an entire winter on the farm while our farmhouse was being rebuilt, we were in town. I only could come up once a day to check on them (until I got sick.. Town air is dirty) anyway.. My cats remained on the farm and were perfectly fine. Cats are natural born hunters, if played with correctly as a kitten they have the skills needed to catch things. One of my cats regularly catches wild rabbits which are much faster than domestic ones.

Maybe they couldn't find anyone/a shelter to take them. Maybe they were old or ill and expensive to keep. Plus they (the family) were going through an awful upheaval, both emotionally and financially, so we should probably give them the benefit of the doubt.
But let be real, we shouldn't need to, because we shouldn't even know about it because something her mother/parents did to pets because of poverty in her childhood isn't something that should be used as a defining feature/intro to her character! Yes, that will have impacted her, but it's pure speculation as to how, and not as insightful as her beliefs and policy & career plans/achievements to date. Also it potentially puts her at a disadvantage because its a personal and probably painful childhood memory being aired while the others got bland facts about their families.

You can call it anti-racism, but BLM literally said on their official website that it's a Marxist organisation that intends to destabilise western civilization.

Especially considering that these "victims of racist hate" are paid hundreds of thousands a week, but want working class folk to be banned from social media and fired from their jobs just for criticising some forwards for not being able to hit top bins, when Harry Maguire, a centre-back, managed to break a fucking GoPro in the top corner of the net.
Maybe if people spent less time tweeting and more time doing their jobs, they'd get less criticism. Because in that regard Rashford is just like President Little Hands, who I'm sure you'd be more than happy to call a numpty for that exact reason.
1/ BLM is not a Marxist org/movement - show me where they say they are?!
2/ it's not a 'US football thing' - BLM is an international/global movement for equality in the face of ongoing oppression and prejudice. UK police kill and harm black people too, it's not just a US issue. The numbers may be lower, but that's arguably because so few of our police carry lethal weapons.
I've seen first-hand the way London police deal with me (white, cis, educated) and my non-White friends/family/neighbours, and it is NOT the same way! Our next-door neighbour's 14yr old got jumped and assaulted on his way home from the local shops, police arrested him and wouldn't let any family members near him, insisting hw was dangerous, under suspicion, etc. And not giving him first aid, while he was bleeding on the street outside his home (broken nose, cracked ribs, bruises, etc)
Multiple neighbours came out to vouch for him and his friend, explain their age that they'd been running scared, going home to be safe from the gang of asian boys chasing them, yet the cops kept insisting he was legally an adult (he's tall for his age but def 14), it was black-on-black gang violence, and later turned up with a warrant and ransacked the family home. Finding nothing because it was all baseless allegations but, of course, being a black working class kid and a single mum they must be anti-social/'what's wrong with this country', etc. They got no apologies either, kid released to go to the hospital (they didn't even take them there, they had to get a cab) and told to be more careful/'think about your future'!
That's just the most recent incident, but by no means the only one I've seen.
