Favorite Cards By Decade 1900s To 1990s and Goal Cards

- In this video, I give my favorite cards by decade from back in pre-war with the 1900s, through the vintage card era, and into the modern cards of the 1990s. For each decade, I also reveal a goal card I would like to add someday. This serves as a double VR for Cesar @pepinoman9271 as well as Darren @returntocollecting Darren also asked for at least 3 shoutouts for channels with less than 300 subs so I couldn't help but provide way more than that.

John, thank you so much for shouting us out. We really appreciate it, and it's awesome that you shout out so many other channels. That's what this is about for us - being part of a community of collectors.
You are most welcome. I’m very happy to help facilitate as many connections in this wonderful community as I can.
Awesome VR response John! You are truly a great ambassador for this community! Always thinking of others as we try to grow our channels! I really do appreciate everything you do for everyone my friend!
Great VR’s . Gl with your goals
Great little showcase with a surprise ending. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks RJ. I do enjoy doing something a bit different every time for the end.
Gave a video like. Thanks for the shout-out! It was great to meet you at the National. Glad you are planning to attend Strongsville show! Sweet goal card! A Wagner card would be a memorable addition for sure.
Thanks Brian! It was great to meet you in person. I’m looking forward to seeing you again in Strongsville.
The Superman of Shoutouts!! Man I immensely appreciate all of the shout outs you’ve been giving me in my first year here. I like that we have different main hobby focuses, but still can enjoy popping by each other’s channels to show the community love. So many great channels to choose from, I know people can’t always watch everything, but checking and giving shout outs is what drew me to doing this in the first place. That card connection is real!! Gotta check out a few new channels here you tipped me off to! Great VRs!
Thanks Brent! Your shoutouts are well deserved. There are so many good folks out there it is difficult choosing how to occupy my watching time. I'm happy to help to connect more folks together in this great community.
Thanks John appreciate the support! Love that Tesla.
You’re welcome! The old Liebig cards are fantastic little pieces of art.
Always appreciate your yeoman's work on shout outs and awareness to other channels. Thanks for sharing your favorites.
Thanks Drew! Congrats on not qualifying for this list.
You are always an amazing advocate for the community! Great video.
Thanks Aaron! I feel compelled to give back as much as I can as I feel like this community is the source of so much joy in my life.
Great VR's John! Super shoutouts! I agree, all these guys need more subs!! Great cards and goal cards! The National Game Wagner will be a great pickup!!
Thanks Darren! Congrats again on 1k! Great idea including shoutouts in your VR. There is a slim chance I could add the Wagner this weekend as I’m leading in REA for now. I don’t think I’m willing to pre-spend enough budget to land it though. 🤷♂️
Hi John. Thank you so much for the shout out. I will be checking out those other channels. I enjoyed watching the video. You have some great cards in your collection.
You're welcome Jim! Glad to have you joining us on this side of the camera so we can get to know you better.
Great shout outs and really enjoyed hearing about each of your favorites. You kept me very entertained while I worked 👊👊🤙🤙
Thanks Dylan! It’s always nice to hear that you enjoy what I’m doing.
Great cards
Thanks Jon!
Love the shout outs…subscribed to all. Great cards…How can you go wrong with Ruth, Foxx, and DiMaggio? Great video.
Thanks Shawn! Gotta help others make more connections in the community as I remember how it felt when my audience was small. I do feel very privileged to have been able to add those guys to my collection.
great goals, great shout outs - so comprehensive! Good luck on that Winston! As Churchill said: "The greatest lesson in life is to know that even fools are right sometimes."
Thanks Mookie! I might have been less patient on the Churchill replacement front than I indicated in this video. 🤷♂️ More to come soon when a package arrives from across the pond.
John you rock - thanks for the shoutout, I'm not worthy! Really appreciate it, I'm just glad I made the cutoff for this video. I love the 63 McCovey and 52B Musial too - great picks. You also made me want that 33 Delong Fox -- what a beauty! Finally the 51B Yogi is high on my list of goal cards actually -- you have a gorgeous copy. Great video.
Thanks Pete! This was a challenging exercise. I love so many of my cards that choosing one per decade felt impossible, especially for the 50s.
Great shout outs, John. I really like your shout outs too, because I can tell you put in the time , and made effort to really watch those channels. As someone who's on the other side of the camera, I always try to, make genuine comments. Letting the person know I really did my best to listen. Listening can be difficult. 1955 Topps, Jackie Robinson...is one of my favorite cards currently in my collection. For a special reason, too.
Thanks Andrew! I do try to keep up with as many people as I can trying to watch at least one per month. It's become an impossible task with how many wonderful people we have in the space.
You'll have to share your Jackie story with me someday.
@@3D80sKid I couldn't go on a Collector 2 Collector without the Jackie!.
Thanks for the shoutout John. Great meeting you as well. So many great channels here.
You’re welcome Mike! There are way too many awesome people for only a four hour event.
Nobody does shoutouts like you, John! Lots of great channels out there. You hit all the decades on pepino’s vr. The Foxx and Ruth look so good in that lineup. You’ve been crushing it man! Well done
Thanks Hugo! Please tell me you are coming to either Strongsville or Chicago next year. I was hoping to meet you!
@@3D80sKid the plan is to be at the National. Looking forward to meeting you in person, John!
Thanks John, you pointed out some channels I wasn't aware of that I'll have to check out. Great cards and choices!
Thanks Billy! I’m always happy to help people get more connected in this amazing community.
Some great shout-outs there. I was not aware of some of them so I'm off to check them out. Thanks.
Thanks Eddy! Glad to see I'm providing you with more possible friends.
Was great to meet you, John! Thanks for that list of shout outs. There were some really good ones I wasn't tracking...now subbed. Great cards, as always. The 71 Clemente is just the most perfect card. Look forward to seeing you at the next one.
Thanks Hammer! It was great to meet you as well and I loved being able to see in person how the kid in the picture for "This Kid's Collection" grew up. LOL
Love all those SGC slabs 😍
Vintage cards in the tux just looks oh so right!
I've been looking forward to seeing what you did for this one! So many fantastic cards, but I'm partial to that sweet Walter Johnson
Thanks Justin! While the 20s era photo cards are cool, something about those simpler artwork strip cards just hits different.
Love those favorites of yours! I don't have any 1920's Ruth's but would love to get one. And with Musial and Foxx being two of the most underrated and undervalued players in the hobby, awesome pieces of your collection. ⚾ 🇺🇲
Thank you! I would agree that Musial and Foxx are underrated relative to their inner circle performances. It’s what made me want to be extra thoughtful with my card choice for each. Thanks for the kind words.
Great video John and thanks for the shoutout. Look forward to checking out the other channels you mentioned. And nice showcase of cards - best of luck finding the Wagner!
Thanks Mark! You are welcome. I do hope to get the Wagner soon. It feels like all his cards go up a bit more every time one of those T206 cards has a public sale.
Great video John, and thanks for the shoutout! Love that 52’ Musial
Thanks Lou! Well deserved my friend. It is a great card.
Great video. A lot of great cards and shoutouts, I found a few new channels to subscribe to.
Thanks David! Glad I could help connect you to other community members. I’m sorry I missed you on my list as I do now remember seeing you but my spotty memory couldn’t traverse that pathway at the time of filming.
No problem. I don't think I remember half the people I met there either.
A fun way to do it John!
I sold the ‘63T McCovey literally right before I watched this video 😅
Thanks Jake! I do like to amuse myself.
I'm sure the right card will come along when its ready to.
New sub and excited to watch your other content. Thanks for making great content. Have a blessed one.
Thanks and welcome aboard. Have a great day!
Great picks all around. Your dad faced Gary Nolan!? That’s pretty cool! I think that 1951 Yogis is one of the best looking cards ever (and I don’t have it).
Thanks Doug! Yep my Dad and Gary were both ‘66 graduates from small high schools in the Northern CA Central Valley. I do love that Yogi card. Picking only one for each decade felt very difficult.
Awesome video my man new sub
Thank you Jose! I appreciate that.
Epic video, John!🤯🤯🤯Yeah, your Top 25 is going to be so different this year!😂👊I'm so happy for you! Epic trading, saving, selling, to make it happen! Did I mention there will be a DiMaggio buyer in your neighborhood ... whenever you need there to be one! 😆👊 Loved the near-misses at the end! Oh man, so many grail cards in this video! I know, I'm abusing the term grail again! I guess I'm just a huge free-grail-speech advocate and practitioner!😆I definitely want to become your clubby on the glorious 52 Bowman Musial! 🤯🤯🤯Where is your Suggestion Box? Oh, here it is! 🗳It would be cool if, when you do your Top 25, for each "place", you show which card was in that "place" last year! Take care, my collecting brother! We need to get together one of these days! 😊👊P.S. Thank you for showing the World's most glorious Ruth card! Can never show that stunner too often! Have you considered wearing it around your neck on some sort of a chain or something?😆P.S.S. 4's are for losers, but 4.5's are for winners!😆
Thanks Adam! My top 25 has undergone a monumental shift. In fact it involves a few Yankee monument players. Don’t think I will need a Joe D buyer, thanks for the heads up though. The term grail does get a bit overused by some closet dwellers. I think it would be great to get together with one. I’m pretty certain my Ruth on a chain days are behind me now. But there will be many more hours of 4.5 admiring ahead.
