Love that Joe hooked you up with more Baseball Thrills pinhole cards 😃 What a Schmidt card from John! 🤩 Those Japanese pickups are so, so cool! And what an episode capper with that ticket, amazing Dylan! 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Yeah man! Love the box for the playing cards! Robert is such an awesome guy, I always try to pick his mind and completely trust his opinions and recommendations! That 58 Menko Nagashima is beautiful!
What an epic gift from Mangini, my Schmidt RC clubby! 🤯🤯🤯 Congrats on the stunning and rare Japanese Oh and Shigeo card pickups, my collecting brother! 😊👊 P.S. I truly didn't notice your AC, just like you didn't notice my shaking! 😊👊
Another enjoyable video! Thanks!! And your brother “look alike” Neto is tearing it up! I know you must have some of his nice cards.. Ha! Go Angels 🙏🤙🏼🤙🏼
Billy, Ya Neto has been on a tear, My problem is I just dont watch without Trout in the lineup. That literally the only reason I watched the Angels ha ha
The funniest thing about the cert # run with the 1st hologram is we both just bought them "subconsciously" years or decades ago. Now I call that a blessing. I can honestly say that looking back that most of failures in the hobby were impulse buys in contrast. That Schmidty is insane and a perfect example of what we discussed. Mangini has a bunch of these early holos whenever he shows cards if you pay attention. I have to wonder if he saw what we stumbled on years ago. Thanks for the shout-out, Dylan!
If I ever start my channel up, I would only then be, open to accepting gifts (that means, I guess would also have to send gifts) would take that as a sign that I should have stayed where I was...lol. The Japanese cards are sick. There is always something new to learn in this hobby. Even the experts can too. Great cards and stories. Great video. Thanks, Dylan. 🤘
Andrew !!! I think its time for you to start :) . Hope what your going through is getting better I have been thinking of you especially when I see you in chats.
My dude, this is a video full of beautiful cardboard. I've tossed around the idea of getting some Japanese cards. This video has solidified that decision. I've always found that cards from different countries are very intriguing. Of all the things that you showed the box is my favorite.
Nice video, Dylan. I don’t know much about Japanese cards, but the examples you showed are beautiful. I can see both the different and similar design elements between American and Japanese cards. I would like to study them more closely. I wonder if there was ever any U.S. influence on the design of the cards, or perhaps influence from another country. What generous and thoughtful gifts from Robert, John, Lou, Joe, and Skaght’s son. Take care. Good stuff!
Hi Terry, Hey I dont know much about Japanese cards either ha ha ha. I just love em so much. I would love to know where there influence for the art work came from. Thank you Terry for stopping by and hope you have an epic week.
Dude, you know I love this! ❤ That ticket is INSANE! I am SO happy and honored to be a part of stoking your love for Shigeo as well. This is just so enjoyable. You know if I ever make it to the Natty, Robert’s table will be the first I hit. Love ya bro!
Wow Dylan, I really love your enthusiasm for the cards in your collection. Gary Engel wrote the guide on vintage Japanese cards. He has pretty much dedicated the last 30 or so years to cataloging as many card sets as possible. The English word trump derives from trionfi, a type of 15th-century Italian playing cards. Japanese playing cards are often called トランプ trump. The ticket you got from me is from Oh's rookie season, but not his first game he played in. Actually Oh's first game is April 11, 1959 and his first hit/home run was April 26th. I've never had either of them as they are extremely rare and would cost thousands. Other players you can look into are Isao Harimoto who has the most hits (3085) as well as 504 HRs. Masaichi Kaneda who has the most wins (400), strikeouts (4490) and innings pitched (5526.2). Oh was born in Japan to a Japanese mother and Taiwanese father. He is still holds Taiwanese nationality. Harimoto and Kaenda are ethnic Koreans that were born in Japan. Let me know if you need anything else.
@@DoubleDvintagebaseballcards , I figured it needed to be something refreshing since you work outside. Was thinking a mule of some kind. LOL. Have a great day.
