Anyone wondering how the stars streak past you at warp when you aren't really going fast enough for that to happen there are two main explanations. 1. They aren't stars, they are small particles that are being energized by the warp field and emitting EMR which is then blue-shifted into visible light ranges. 2. They are stars but the streaking past is a consequence of the FTL motion's effect on incoming light. At FTL and due to the warp field's bending of space-time, incoming light from the forward direction cycles between appearing in front and behind you. The resulting optical effect is the streaking stars, but they are essentially the same stars being seen over and over again. They do blue-shift a little, which is why they get brighter, but not by a huge amount because warp travel is not relativistic.

Dilithium Is used in their anti matter/matter reactors cause it is hot enough to preheat plasma hot enough for warp travel, but fusion reactors were used for early warp capable trip cause it could also generate warp plasma at load So in original warp cannon the ships power reactor was also its warp core
Dilithium was just far more efficient in anti matter reactors, in that a very little amount could generate a massive amount of energy when it met its antimatter counterpart which is saying something because anti matter/ matter annihilations is a 100% matter to energy conversion anyway

Before that he said they were going 20,000 km per second, which is 1/15th light speed. The Phoenix isn't like a modern starship where it can go from zero to warp speed. It's not unreasonable that as the field got stronger and stronger that the ship would accelerate to an appreciable fraction of light speed before actually jumping to warp 1.
