Lovely dial. You have to admire Seiko for offering porcelain (and enamel and lacquer) dials. Have my eye on a SPB093J1 and will buy one soon. But the subject of the video reminds me of the Vanden Plas 1500. A beautifully hand-crafted interior in a British Leyland Allegro body. Somewhat confusing all told. Surely better cases are available?
I like this. V v pretty dial. The gloss, hands and indices make for a charming timepiece. I thought the subdial was a second time zone but clearly not. How utterly pointless but pretty It’s a lot cheaper than the eichi II
I have a 2023 release Laurel Arita Seiko SPB397J1 with a cream coloured dial. It houses the 6R27 which has a power reserve and sub dial date complications. The dial is very beautiful, I think it's the curves in the sub dials that attracts me. It also has a very nice, soft leather strap, which is unusual for Seiko.
Beautiful looking watch with a completely useless complication with needless text bragging about its power reserve which is neither here nor there on a dress watch... i don't get it ? However , gotta say that Corum you're sporting is pretty cool.
Love that dial! Not my cup of tea but could be an interesting movement for them, we’ll need to wait and see what else they do with it- alpinist would be awesome and a definite must, or an updated field watch to compete with watches like Hamiltons new khaki field or even Tudor black bay pro but Seiko never think like that 😢
To be fair the case isn't the problem its the lug to lug size which makes a watch wear big or not after all look at the Tuna a 48mm which fits a 6 inch wrist with no problem but try a Nomos 38mm with its long lugs and you have no chance
Hi Barry this is certainly a smart looking watch, and the +5 s/d you were recording isn't too shabby. At the asking price we're getting into Sinn, Muhle and Hanhart territory here though... just saying... LG Bob 🍻 🍻 🍻
Seiko are still one of the biggest brands out there, I beat they sell more watches than 80% of the Swiss brands PS I personally like many of the German brands myself
The dial is gorgeous and just wish they left off some of the text to allow the dial more eye time 😅
Plus remove the sub dial there isn't any need for it on this one unless you could independently set the hour on it
@@ClickSpringReview ah ok didn't know that 😉
The ceramic dial is real nice! I love looking at the natural crazing on ceramic dials of vintage pocket watches.
Its a stunning porcelain dial you don't see model around these days

I never thought of it like that, but good point well made

I was just looking at your Seiko and its a bit of a looker I see what you mean about the leather strap, very cool
Did I miss the price? Lovely dial, would like to see it on a dark leather strap :)
Yeah a vintage dark brown leather strap would look great as for the price its RRP is £1720 but I'm very sure you could get a discount on that

Cheers Ted I may have to do an updated review of it at some point its LE model and is number 001 0f 300

Yeah I like this model but would I buy it nope as it's not for me either. I do have a mini Alpinist for sale myself
A beautiful watch but why 40mm? Do seiko deliberately set out to rule out a large section of the population with their oversized &/or JDM watches ?

Yeah I do agree with you there Bob say a nice 104
@@ClickSpringReview 👍
@@ClickSpringReview It's funny you should say that!
Porcelain dials aren't cheap to make.
Very true there is something like a 80% failure rate
Bad Dog link returns a 404 😉
I'll fix that thanks for letting me know 👍🏻
Who is wearing Seiko? Buy a Swiss watch instead!
