Suzuki launched the Gixxer SF 250 in 2019 while it's been just a year the BS6 models are ready. We have the MotoGP Ecstar edition for review today and it looks dope. While the motorcycle stands out it has the same underpinnings and heart as before but the only difference is in the torque which is low. We tell you the good and the bad in today's MotorBeam video.

Can there be anything more that can be good or bad for the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250?
Who is the proper competitor for this Suzuki?

No one is in its competition according to price.. and it is the quickest 250 in India, it does 0-100 in under 8.30 sec
Ktm is pricer than gixxer and doesn't have that refinement level too, plus sf 250 is dashing in its looks just remove the tail tidy and stock windshield and this bike reaches another level in hotness,
U can customise LED indicators and side stand cutoff is never a reason to nt buy the motorcycle..
Don't knw how come u say about build quality.. m owning one since past 1 year, have never felt anything related to build quality nor any other sf 250 has complained about same..
The reason why it sells low is because of service network of suzuki, lack of graphics and punchy colors for the bike, Lower brand value of gixxer as compared to Dukes and Dominars

I don't get the idea of calling the missing liquid cooling system as drawback everytime, whereas the bike got some alternative tech that provides the purpose of liquid cooler.
If heat is problem in final product, then current cooling system is a drawback/issue. Otherwise it had improved on cost and weight of the bike (which is pro not con).

Rightly said brother , I own a bs4 Gixxer SF 250 , and not even once it had cut off in peak traffic, the cooling system is on point and I see no sense in calling the oil cooling system as a drawback... Suzuki were the first ones to introduce this type of oil cooling system way back in the 70s and 80s , and it immediately outclassed the then conventional cooling systems in motorcycles , and here are people telling that 8 year motorcycles have liquid cooling , it would be more good if people presenting reviews get to know the in depths instead of just pointing everything that is visible as a drawback......

Exactly....one thing I want to say...the suzuki engineers are no fools and secondly if their SOCS works as good as any liquid cooler why bother than...

  • @ajaykaushik2272

Why do you revirwers always keep complaining about lack of LED indicators, lack of liquid cooling....?
Rather please tell us whether what they have given works well or not.
Like whether the indicators can ben seen from a good distance which is the function of the indicators. And whether the cooling works well instead of complaining no liquid cooling.

    Hi MotorMeme,
I have the BS6 Suzuki Gixxer sf 250 and I can't tell you how happy I am !
The drawbacks are the visor .
I did almost 4k kms now. Just take a ride and see if the drawbacks are really there?
like for instance I never felt the lack of liquid cooling.
The headlight visibility is good. Yes the instrument cluster could have been better .
seating position is good and comfortable for long rides.
Low and mid ranges are very good.
The horn yes could have been better.
The service experience varies from place to place. For me its been a good experience but some of my friends had bad exp.
cornering fun is too much and I could easily cruise on highways.
I am a very happy owner and every ride I take whether its 1km or 1000 km run it brings a smile to my face
Also will try to post a owner ship review soon !

The person reviewing this bike doesn't even know what he is reviewing. It has the fattest tyre in the segment of 250cc. Dominar 250 has 140. This is the most refined 250cc bike with good amount of punch in this range. Can ride for 3-4 hours without any discomfort. This is the reason why I dislike motorbeam. They don't know what they are reviewing and they don't even know how to review.

in my pont of view gixxersf 250 is a excellent bike.
in the video they said a lots of cons. let me explain my view
    1. visor: its just a 1000 rs case. problem solved
    2. indicators: other manufacture also selling with non led light. again we can replace if we want less than 1000rs
    3. mirror : we can adjust the mirrors and its a good mirror. giving good view.
    4. cooling: oil cooling is 2000's tech and still working fine then what is the point of changeing. and less parts so maintains and coolant money saves. and good cooling comparing with other 250 cc bikes.
    5. display: i agree only basic functions are there but its showing good visibility.
those are not a reson for not buy this bike. its a good sports tourer in this segment.

I completely disagree with your negative points. First thing this bike don't have any vibrations, mirrors don't vibrate. Second thing, though it's not a liquid cool engine it doesn't heat up like KTMS. Third thing its build quality is very good, it has a light weight chassis. Fourth thing I never ever faced any service issues with Suzuki
, it's a giant bike manufacturer in the world and when it comes to visor it is short but we have to wear helmet to protect ourselves from wind blast 😉. I think you are a Honda fanboy who don't launch any sports bike in India or Royale Enfield which vibrates like a hell

    Okay time to clarify:
1st: the visor it can be changed and with after market one it looks just beast
2nd: horn who needs horn that blows the ear drums bro, that horn is more than enough
3rd: i have rode bikes with superior liquid cooling and i swear this SF SOCS was way more cooler than so called Liquid cooled engines in its segment
4th: maneuvering this bike is so smooth and easy don't know why you felt it to be hard, that is wrong too
5th: mirrors, for the mirrors i use aftermarket one and they are good and even the stock one were awesome, looks like your sitting posture or height or the position of that mirrors must have affected
6th: vibrations, bro you must be using a new bike with no oil changed and how the hell can you say that i rode my friends bike hard reving it, yes it got some buzz at the top and thats normal for a single cylinder engine
And last: the parts were tweaking, u serious bro u must have got some harshly managed SF cause its been almost 2 yrs and still the parts are intact property, not like the fz series
Not a suzuki fan boy but from experiencing by myself hands down this bike is one of the most reliable and underrated bike currently in the Indian market

Instrument cluster is awesome even in direct sunlight. Can even handle easily in traffic. Refinement is great for 250CC and finally i never saw such fuel efficiency in 250cc bike like this.. average im getting around 36-38kmpl..disc size is front 310mm and rear 240mm

@@mrg3473 if you consider heavily overpriced ktms and overweight dominars then Gixxer is way ahead for the price. But if you consider fz250 then Gixxer should have been 15-20k difference in on road price. But the price difference is around 37k in Bengaluru which leaves many customers behind. To Justify 37000 more than fz250 is too difficult than justifying ktm 250 price over Gixxer 250 .

    Pros
    * Awesome engine. Oil cooling technology in this engine is one of a kind.
    * Great build quality
    * Confidence inspiring rider stance .
    Cons
    * Diamond frame and box swing arm is not the level of hardware expected by customers.
    * Can't say it is a very beautiful looking bike(at least in few angles).
    * BS6 update has toned down power delivery above 100 KM/hr(?).
    * When Suzuki launched GS150R it had the best in class instrument cluster. Cluster in this bike has even lesser feature than that bike. Different ride modes, real time mileage indicators are all missing in the cluster.
    * Not a time tested engine. I am skeptical about printed skirt piston, will it worn out within few thousand KM?.

    • @phabove7
      @phabove7 3 ปีที่แล้ว

I hate people who honk, and I rarely honk myself.
I like starting the bike on the side stand, so that the engine oil gets to circulate before I start moving.
