  • Hello and welcome
In this episode I replace that crusty but largely original rear cross member. I rebuild the boot floor area with fresh steel and start working on that noisy back axle.
    Enjoy

Crazy how similar the boot floor looked to mine! Rust in all the same places. Nice Work Church!

Great video. :) I'm doing a lot of the same on my RRC 1984. But i have a LOT more corrosion. :) It's nice to see what others are doing, and getting some tips and hints. :)

Nice work. Had this done on mine two month ago and after cutting the rust it ended up not having no floor or wheel arches from the B-pillar to the rear. But it´s back on the road again.

    A nice result, as always!
Thanks for the tip on how to slide in the rear crossmember (never heard or read about that before). The post-85 RRCs seems so much more complex to work on (all those lines and leads)......
Can't wait for the next episode in the series! Cheers and Happy New (Range Rover Classic) Year :)

Are those bolts on the rear chassis for the towbar.
Had the same problem with seized bolts so cut off the whole bracket from chassis and got some new tubing and made new brackets and welded back on to chassis..
Drilling those bolts out will be a pain in the arse and not worth the hassle.

    What welder are you using?

Can you recommend a decent spot weld remover 🤔

Land Rover. Bless them. These spot welded bodies are a night mare. Bare steel spot welded, then barely seam sealed. Doomed from conception onwards 😕

but when the average life of a car is less than a decade, this one has fared well
