In this video we learn out to cut, grind, bend and WELD metal. I wasn't going to pay a shop $$$ to do the work so i'm going to learn myself.

Have an 89 RRC restomod going. I have a buddy/shop doing the rust repairs and then a full respray. Thought about doing this myself. Kudos for diving in DIY! I can confirm that to get this kind of work done would run like $2-3k or more just for the repairs. Love the channel!

Company called YRM makes a lot of repair panels and made things easier when I tackled this job. Good luck!

Good on you for keeping the old gal going. The best repair for the sills is to cut it all out and replace with a piece of box section. You can use 100 x 60 x 3mm. Cut the lot out then weld the pillar strengthening plates to it. If you have any awkward areas shape wise you can get repair pannels from a uk company called easy on pannels, however I don't know wether they ship to the US. Good luck!

@@AddictedMotors 👍 the best piece of advice I can give you is take your time getting the prep as good as you can in both pannel fit and prepping the surface for welding. It saves time once you have the torch in your hand. Keep up the great content, I have a 2001 XJR and a 300tdi discovery 👍

Nice job! A for effort! I don’t know anything about wielding, so to me it looks like an expert job! On the sill when you had it open before putting on that last piece, would it have been good to spray in some primer or other rustproofing material? Keep up the good work!
