That's the first time ever that I've not watched one of your videos to the end Matt. If it was down to me, I'd leave those guys to finish the process. Then do one of your normal reviews of the finished product. Just sayin mate.
Looking forward to seeing this driving again on the road! I'm very impressed with the dedication of the chaps at Transformotion, they are doing a fabulous job!
A great video. Love the link between the two channels. Nothing wrong with a crossover. I do love this and the earlier Range Rovers. Glad to see this being lightly transformotioned into a working runabout
Love the work the lads are doing at Transformotion - all with good banter and no little creative skills when needed. Be a joy to see this one back on the road
quality Matt keep the great content coming top lads with skills they are ! and love the down to earth documentary style filming adds so much realism to the videos superb
Excellent Matt. Enjoyed that. You mentioned the narrowness of the Rangie....given that it is a 5 seater roomy car, it is far better suited to UK roads than the current models. I seem to remember mine having the spare wheel mounted on the near side of the boot.
Any doubters in these lads ability just need to checkout the rear axle area… it’s looking fantastic. This is going to be fantastic and I really don’t think it’s going to be the old ‘I’ve massively overspent’ either!
For a couple of DIYers the lads are on a good learning curve, slow and steady turning a sows ear into a silk purse. I've come across a few rotted rear ends but good fronts from where people have reversed boat trailers into the sea from ramps which might be the case for your motors IOW first home.
Niiiice! I have an '82 2-door, but it looks to me like you actually should have airconditioning. Mine has it and the way you can tell is it has the extra ventilation openings in the dash. Unless they all got those openings as standard later on. Good job so far!
Great video Matt.....but I've got to say it really reminded me of the scene in I'm Alan Partridge when he's talking to the builders and wearing a hard hat with 'Boss' written on it!!!!!!
He’s so out of his depth, reading the age of tires and brake disc condition is his limit, I’ve just completed a restoration on a classic Range Rover 4 years work and 12k but better than the day it left the factory, this is defo not a restoration
We have the same Range Rovers. Not only will you find yourself grabbing the keys to the RRC, you will start finding excuses to go for a drive. The RRC is truly a special car.
My parents had the older model in RED and loved it. Drove around Australia with them in 1985 and was flawless. My dad currently has a 2002 Discovery 2 red diesel with 87,000 km. :) bought from new.
Sure, it's not an as-new, concourse-level restoration, but given the state of it when they first got it, the lads are doing a restoration on it, but the best kind of restoration; one that means it'll get used and driven. The lads always blow my mind because they make these things look so easy and they're always so chilled out about things when I look at some of their projects and think it'll be a nightmare.
I used to use my discovery to launch our boat, off its trailer. Not surprisingly it helped the rust no end. I wonder if that RR was used in a similar way.
A little known fact but Holmes Chapel is also the home of my uncle George. Small world or what? Also, good to see Scousers putting wheels on cars for a change.
So regards the trs outputs, can these be split into 2 mono outs to enable say snare and bass assigned to 3 but then split to 2 mono channels to go into mixer. This would in affect give you 8 channels.
I remember from my K reg the spare is on the passenger tyre is on the passenger side and there was a sub woofer on the other side. with a small speaker coming out of it at the top along the shelf side of things.
That will be a nice car that when it's done Matt. I had a 89G 3.5 Manual Vogue cracking car and simple to work on I used to work at a Land Rover dealership in the late 80's as a technician. Also if you weren't silly with the throttle you could get the mid-20's mpg on a run. When the lads get it running ask them to pressure test the cooling system as the heater matrix are prone to leaking as most of the interior is out. It's a 6hour job so your half way there I know I've done loads of them🤨
Hi Matt love watching your videos. I had my Defender done at Mahker Shropshire and they did an amazing job on mine. I don’t know if you watch their TH-cam channel but it’s worth a look. Keep up the good work.
My army Landy is 2 years older than yours, have a driven original Range Rover does make mine feel really agricultural lol look forward to you getting it back on the road 👍
I had an '87 3.5 efi (the year they switched to fuel injection) in Conifer green. Failed its first MoT with a leaking PS pump. That was kind of a heads-up for the future... Nevertheless I kept it for 13 years, best car I've ever owned. The family were in tears when I sold it, but I just couldn't keep up with the maintenance. Many of the issues yours has (hole in the footwell, rotten battery box, upper tailgate corosion, fuel tank leak? fuel pump failure) mine had. The cylinder heads are prone to warp - I wouldn't run it for a minute without coolant - I had to have mine skimmed twice. The Vogue does have aircon, btw. I had to switch it off going up M-way hills as it sucked too much power from the engine. But oh, that V8 sound...
Hi Matt……. Re the decals/stickers on the bonnet and lower rear tailgate…… I suggest that you do what I did on 1990 Range Rover (one owner). I purchased the latest plastic Range Rover letters from amazon and fixed them on said panels!!!! They look a truck load better than the two dimensional decals!!!! My RR Is Cairngorm brown in colour and I used black three dimensional letters and not silver!!!! The black letters marry in well with all the other black features on the RR…. Front grill…. Bumpers….black upper tailgate and black rear view mirrors!!! The RR looks a peach 🍑!!!! How was the Borg Warner Height adjusting unit in the rear of the RR???? And spare wheel goes on the left side of the boot……tool kit and Jack on the right hand side of the RR….. Regards Ian 👨🎤🇳🇿😎👍👍😂
Matt, it would be great to take the car back to Isle of Wight and let the previous owners son see it. The reaction video would be great once it's all done ✔️
I used to work for a Shower Screen business based in Macclesfield in 80's and both bosses had these style range rovers , both ended up with chevrolet V8 Blazer engines in and wolfrace turbo vane wheels ..... nice ps they started out as van type version imported from France, they were used to tow a shower screen display trailer to B&Q , WH Smith Do It All etc after I passed my test which the company arranged I was handed the keys and let loose in them 😀
Great jobs lads but the most impressive thing on here was that Matt got a parking space on the sainsburys/costa car park 😂 normally queuing out on to road there.
Really trivial info - Range Rover Classic fuel tanks were made by NC Joseph/NCJ Pressings of Stratford on Avon (long gone) who also made Swan teapots, etc and briefly an extremely unsuccessful washing machine. The press shop was full of almost steampunk huge prewar knuckle presses.
If/when it passes the MOT and it's all finished and ready to go, can we all come and line the streets, cheering with banners flying as you drive to get your paper...? 🎉
Parts of this reminded me of Alan Partridge when he’s trying to make small talk with his builders 😂

what a job so far well done the lads at Transformotion
I think it’s great you’re getting this back on the road. The lads are doing a great job.
This is amazing, those lads have worked wonders with this car❤.
Unbelievable. I never thought this could be saved. But it’s looking a lot better already. Can we add subtitles for the next sequel, please? 😂
Please. I cannot understand these two at all.

Hi Matt,I think it's coming together.when it's done it'll look fab.keep up the good work.
I had a green Vogue SE 92 K reg we had the green velour seats the leather wasn’t nice and soft to sit on so went with Velour instead
Needs a “yeah” counter for how many times Matt say it 😂😂
We need to find a new phrase for the intro to his video's
Hahaha I noticed it now😂

I think we owe HPA a big thanks for putting us onto this cracking channel. I love a RR & this is like crack to me. Cannot wait for more ❤

Good honest video. These two guys are great. Honest, down to earth and we all know scousers are likeable.
When I was a boy, I got taken from Norfolk to Worcestershire in a three door Range Rover 1970’s how lucky was I !
Not been in a Range Rover since…
You’re in safe hands with these lads they really know what there doing guess that’s why you picked them great work and properly ❤
