The problem you have been conditioned - as kids - that life is awesome. You grow up, and all those lies start to fall down. That is when you realize that life is shit.
It starts with fairytales and the promise of being a pilot or a doctor. As if its easily obtainable (which its not) and as if working is as fun as swimming in the sea on a hot summer day. Then your grandparents die and you fail school subjects. Then you cant find or properly keep a job. Then your gf leaves you. Your bills pile up like some nasty joke. Your house suddenly leaks rainwater. Your oven stops working. Your teeth fall out. Your back hurts like crazy. Your car keeps needing repairs till the money runs out. Boy what a fairytale. Full of magical fun.
or you may battle social anxiety your entire life, followed by depression and suicidal thoughts, existential problems, migraines, eye floaters, vertigo and dizziness, hair loss, greying hair, more wrinkles, more relatives dying, traffic jams, some friend killed himself, another one died in a car accident, another one died from cancer, your moms best friend also got diagnosed with cancer. Your childhood rockband vocalist hanged himself. U have developed arthritis in your fingers and knee, and ur mom has gotten osteoarthritis and have a tumor in her chest. The events causes insomnia, the insomnia deteriorates your health and appetite. You lost weight and get vitamin deficincies. Now you have cancer as well. You pray and nothing happens, because life sucks.
Yup, same thing happened to me. I'm 34 and the last time I was genuinely happy was at 19, then it tanked after that. Not does life suck, but being in a family is like being in a prison. Shit sucks.

I'm happy because I accepted the fact that life sucks and there's nothing I can do about it, so I'm never surprised or disappointed when things go wrong or turn out bad.

Although I was probably about the most average looking person anyone could run into, he made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. We've been through a lot together, in good times and in tough times, thicker and thin, and finally in sickness and in health. 2. I was able to watch my 2 biological children as well as 1 stepson grow into healthy, beautiful and successful people in spite of all the hardships they went through during their childhood. 3. It took losing my husband to realize how strong and independent I really am, (if you want to look it THAT is a positive aspect in my life. It's not really like being strong and independent is really a choice). Now, I just feel like a walking corpse.

People tell you that they'll be there for you and WHERE ARE THEY when it really counts? THAT is why I am grateful for the 16 short years I had with my beloved husband. I had the pleasure to experience true love and someone being there, when no one else was. So did he. When the kids were grown and out of the house, we only had each other. Now, I have NOBODY! ...and I'm sorry. Your God may work for you, but if I want to talk to thin air, I can do that anytime. Spirituality comes from within; NOT from a stained glass golden mansion standing upon marble floors and statues of plaster or from a historical political fairytale, which was rewritten countless times. The light switched on for me a few years ago, and I realized that the phrase "life is beautiful" is a lie. For so long, I wondered why I couldn't just feel like most other people. Well, I realized it's because I don't look at life through rose colored glasses. I see things for what they are, and I know that positive thinking doesn't make it better. Positive thinking is like polishing a turd and calling it gold. Unfortunately, though, It hasn't made me feel any better. It made me feel angry, bitter, and resentful that I didn't get a choice on whether I wanted to be here or not. All I can do is be grateful for the good things I do have. But, it doesn't cure my misery.
life does suck, and social media portrays peoples lives to look much better than they actually are. Envy is a huge, and prevalent issue that many individuals suffer from, but if we just accept that life isn't always fair, and some people get more advantages then you, you are finally one with the pain, and the suffering goes away.

Not only that, but the most growth and positive change has come on the back of those "sucky" moments. I agree with everything you said. Everytime I tell people this they think I'm being cynical. No, I'm just a realist and know how life works. I try to explain to my optimistic mom everytime I do well in an interview that I'm not going to get excited about it until I have that job offer because I have been rejected from jobs so many times and she still doesn't get it. People that are aware that life sucks are more aware of how this world works. Having low expectations saves you from a lot of heartache.
Look at it like this: you got life trough unthinkable amounts of generations of living that died only to feed the new living generations of bacteria vegetation and organisms. I sent her some money and told her I'd kick her ass. She said a year after that that she had only seen the negative in her cool job and she was a jerk. duh

Lost my daughter and was told to get the hell over it! I gave all to others -- added up to nothing! I helped others -- and they stepped on me and talked behind my back with lies. When I was at deaths door and hospitalized last year, nobody gave a damn! When I was bedridden and in mass pain -- people judge who don't even know me! I truly have no more trust for anyone these days! Now to me life itself is full on BS on a human level. Love is a joke. That's painful. The good news is that all you need is a few good friends. They exist, but you just have to continuously put yourself in social situations in order to meet them.

Read the bible, it's got a whole lot of suck in there. In fact, God says it's mandatory that things suck for us at times. It's supposed to be a test of faith. Honestly every answer to every question you've ever had is in the bible. Sadly many people will never even open a bible.
Life indeed sucks. I wish it was paradise man. I have a hard time accepting that it will always suck. Wish it didnt. The ups and downs are driving me nuts. Im not a flexible person. First off there is an actual paradise that you are supposed to be in one day. It's called the kingdom of heaven. It's waiting for all those that walk with Jesus. Right on brother. Even the people who think life is great eventually come to the point where they are faced with the fact that life mostly sucks. They get old and painfully diseased and the mental faculties go bad. However they usually are terrified of admitting even then that life is suffering. It's just too painful to think that big daddy doesn't have a soft cushy bed up in heaven for you. Btw I don't like negative news and don't listen. The fact that humans like the fact that life sucks is not a recommendation for our species. Life sucks when the suffering gets overwhelming. Until then you can say things like " it's ok that life sucks" Put yourself on the rack or being burned as a witch or starving slowly or a horribly painful disease and see if you still think it's pretty cool that life sucks. You're still young and strong. That's going to change and unless you're lucky and get a quick death you're going to struggle at the end. Look at all those lost souls alone and sick in some group home waiting bored day after day for life to release them. And while some amount of struggle is good ballast for our life boat so it can go straight there are plenty of people that starve from birth or other things that overwhelm their capacity to have any kind of decent life. You have to take this into account with your little theory that life sucks and it's a good thing.

Luckily Christ Jesus has clearly explained that this world is temporary and if you turn to him you will live in paradise with him for eternity.
Life sucks and it’s very depressing it’s both a burden to know and acknowledge this fact but also very freeing for those that embrace the freeing side of it,which I mostly try to do myself it has propelled me to,seek an alternative way of life,from the world’s societal norms. I crave a simple,mostly reclusive life. Personally I don’t want or need stress or struggles.
It is freeing because like you it enables us to seek out alternatives ways to live from the masses. Focusing on our spirit is much more meaningful, than being attached to the material world that's fleeting.
I was and still am very cynical about changing poverty, hunger and all that shit. It's not gonna change it's only gonna get worse. I am glad you brought this up. I was very depressed for a long time not being able to find a job. But after hearing your speech i felt better... Its true that I am unhappy because I expected myself to already find myself a job 6 months after I graduated from college. But reality hits me as I still don't have anything in my hands and my life is still full of uncertainties. Thank you man. I will take life as it is and move on. I will take this challenge and try to overcome it one step at a time.

Steve -You strike me as realizing that when someone says "Life Sucks"to the cultural question "how r u" that it is a way to either "get attention" or to ask for help. I think that it unlikely people ever will respect Life sucks as a specific answer to a question so set in time and space. The other stuff about movies and expectations I hear you loud and clear. I usually know I'll hate everything because it isn't going to have my point of reference or common ground & am pleased if I can relate.
In the past, when I told others, "My life sucks," they'd say things like, "Get over it, move on, other people's lives suck more," or "Why don't we just talk about something else?" It took a while for me to realize what they're really saying is, "Look, I don't want to hear it." Western cultures like ours just seem to have that "Pull yourself up by your bootstraps" mentality, regardless of how valid our problems are. I think most people have only a handful of real friends, with real empathy.
I hear you, and empathy is important. However we are what we think. There is a famous piece of writing that is called "As a man thinketh." Pardon the man part it was written like a zillion years ago. You should check it out, it's super short like 30 pages but its a famous piece of writing. We literally are what we think this is proven scientifically and biologically. Our thoughts are super important but so are our words. They did a study that showed you have to say something positive like 30 times to offset saying one negative thing. That's how powerful saying negative things are. I'm not downplaying your feelings at all. I'm a former first responder and have suffered with serious ptsd and suicidal stuff for years now. I'm just saying think about. Look up the RAS (reticular activating system). It's the filter that everything passes through to enter the subconscious mind. It basically acts like a repeater. If you say "I'm depressed" for example over and over the RAS passes that through as a fact. Then the brain says okay we must be depressed. Super fascinating stuff. Everything is temporary, including how you feel right now. Take care

im 21 and have a lot of money saved up but i still think life suck because all i do is work. i usually work 16 hours a day . i work at my job for 10 hours a day then when i get home i work for another 6 hour because there so much work at home that i have to get done. all in all life suck because all u do is work
I agree with you 100% with everything you've said...but first and foremost you can't even stay centered and at peace with energy without income, PERIOD!...unemployment sucks. Money runs everything and without at least a job then nothing else will fall into place and give balance. The problem you have been conditioned - as kids - that life is awesome. You grow up, and all those lies start to fall down. That is when you realize that life is shit.
It starts with fairytales and the promise of being a pilot or a doctor. As if its easily obtainable (which its not) and as if working is as fun as swimming in the sea on a hot summer day. Then your grandparents die and you fail school subjects. Then you cant find or properly keep a job. Then your gf leaves you. Your bills pile up like some nasty joke. Your house suddenly leaks rainwater. Your oven stops working. Your teeth fall out. Your back hurts like crazy. Your car keeps needing repairs till the money runs out. Boy what a fairytale. Full of magical fun.

or you may battle social anxiety your entire life, followed by depression and suicidal thoughts, existential problems, migraines, eye floaters, vertigo and dizziness, hair loss, greying hair, more wrinkles, more relatives dying, traffic jams, some friend killed himself, another one died in a car accident, another one died from cancer, your moms best friend also got diagnosed with cancer. Your childhood rockband vocalist hanged himself. U have developed arthritis in your fingers and knee, and ur mom has gotten osteoarthritis and have a tumor in her chest. The events causes insomnia, the insomnia deteriorates your health and appetite. You lost weight and get vitamin deficincies. Now you have cancer as well. You pray and nothing happens, because life sucks.

Although I was probably about the most average looking person anyone could run into, he made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. We've been through a lot together, in good times and in tough times, thicker and thin, and finally in sickness and in health. 2. I was able to watch my 2 biological children as well as 1 stepson grow into healthy, beautiful and successful people in spite of all the hardships they went through during their childhood. 3. It took losing my husband to realize how strong and independent I really am, (if you want to look it THAT is a positive aspect in my life. It's not really like being strong and independent is really a choice). Now, I just feel like a walking corpse.

I had the pleasure to experience true love and someone being there, when no one else was. So did he. When the kids were grown and out of the house, we only had each other. Now, I have NOBODY!

The light switched on for me a few years ago, and I realized that the phrase "life is beautiful" is a lie. For so long, I wondered why I couldn't just feel like most other people. Well, I realized it's because I don't look at life through rose colored glasses. I see things for what they are, and I know that positive thinking doesn't make it better. Positive thinking is like polishing a turd and calling it gold. Unfortunately, though, It hasn't made me feel any better. It made me feel angry, bitter, and resentful that I didn't get a choice on whether I wanted to be here or not. All I can do is be grateful for the good things I do have. But, it doesn't cure my misery.

Envy is a huge, and prevalent issue that many individuals suffer from, but if we just accept that life isn't always fair, and some people get more advantages then you, you are finally one with the pain, and the suffering goes away.

Not only that, but the most growth and positive change has come on the back of those "sucky" moments. In fact, I'm grateful for all of them including being on life support in the hospital and almost dying. If you're life sucks at the moment that means you are on the verge of a breakthrough to something awesome.

I agree with everything you said. Everytime I tell people this they think I'm being cynical. No, I'm just a realist and know how life works. I try to explain to my optimistic mom everytime I do well in an interview that I'm not going to get excited about it until I have that job offer because I have been rejected from jobs so many times and she still doesn't get it. People that are aware that life sucks are more aware of how this world works. Having low expectations saves you from a lot of heartache.

But at least it opens the window. And it's not insulting anyone just to say that things are a bit tough. And there are a few who get it as well. Read the bible, it's got a whole lot of suck in there. In fact, God says it's mandatory that things suck for us at times. It's supposed to be a test of faith. Honestly every answer to every question you've ever had is in the bible. Sadly many people will never even open a bible.

Life indeed sucks. I wish it was paradise man. I have a hard time accepting that it will always suck. Wish it didnt. The ups and downs are driving me nuts. Im not a flexible person. I get down pretty fast and totally lustless. I get in a non active state when things go bad again. What do you do to keep going, even when everything goes bad? Where do you find the power and drive? I feel like throwing the towel constantly.
What specific struggles are you dealing with that makes you want to constantly throw in the towel?
First off there is an actual paradise that you are supposed to be in one day. It's called the kingdom of heaven. It's waiting for all those that walk with Jesus. When everything goes bad you pray, that is the ultimate medicine and support. There is nothing on earth that can replace a relationship with God through the holy spirit. Walk to a Christian church my friend the Lord is waiting for you. He wants to walk with you and see you have a kick ass life. Take care man.
Right on brother. Even the people who think life is great eventually come to the point where they are faced with the fact that life mostly sucks. They get old and painfully diseased and the mental faculties go bad. However they usually are terrified of admitting even then that life is suffering. It's just too painful to think that big daddy doesn't have a soft cushy bed up in heaven for you.
Btw I don't like negative news and don't listen. The fact that humans like the fact that life sucks is not a recommendation for our species. Life sucks when the suffering gets overwhelming. Until then you can say things like " it's ok that life sucks" Put yourself on the rack or being burned as a witch or starving slowly or a horribly painful disease and see if you still think it's pretty cool that life sucks. You're still young and strong. That's going to change and unless you're lucky and get a quick death you're going to struggle at the end. Look at all those lost souls alone and sick in some group home waiting bored day after day for life to release them.
And while some amount of struggle is good ballast for our life boat so it can go straight there are plenty of people that starve from birth or other things that overwhelm their capacity to have any kind of decent life. You have to take this into account with your little theory that life sucks and it's a good thing.
The bible very clearly explains everything you are referring to. Sadly most people turn their back on Jesus. There are reasons why we suffer and our bodies decay, it's called sin. Luckily Christ Jesus has clearly explained that this world is temporary and if you turn to him you will live in paradise with him for eternity.

it has propelled me to,seek an alternative way of life,from the world’s societal norms.

It's basically what I've been saying and thinking about the weirdos running this farm we're all presently on. Evil is basically an extreme form of ignorance, and whatever those people get from their vast deception is very fleeting anyway. The thing is, what are we taking with us when we do leave here? Our deeds, knowledge, and heart, mainly. Everything else we're stripped of and it's just *ourselves* left.

The fact that life is something that has to be coped through via being ignorant (willfully or otherwise) and/or developing a form of Stockholm syndrome is very telling. I am glad you brought this up. I was very depressed for a long time not being able to find a job. But after hearing your speech i felt better... Its true that I am unhappy because I expected myself to already find myself a job 6 months after I graduated from college. But reality hits me as I still don't have anything in my hands and my life is still full of uncertainties. Thank you man. I will take life as it is and move on. I will take this challenge and try to overcome it one step at a time.

When someone tells me life doesn’t suck, I tell them: If your life we’re a movie will the audience enjoy it? No they will just get board! That’s how life is. That’s the way I think of life. Just a lame movie. Nobody cares about me.😢

Steve -You strike me as realizing that when someone says "Life Sucks"to the cultural question "how r u" that it is a way to either "get attention" or to ask for help. I think that it unlikely people ever will respect Life sucks as a specific answer to a question so set in time and space. The other stuff about movies and expectations I hear you loud and clear. I usually know I'll hate everything because it isn't going to have my point of reference or common ground & am pleased if I can relate.
In the past, when I told others, "My life sucks," they'd say things like, "Get over it, move on, other people's lives suck more," or "Why don't we just talk about something else?" It took a while for me to realize what they're really saying is, "Look, I don't want to hear it." Western cultures like ours just seem to have that "Pull yourself up by your bootstraps" mentality, regardless of how valid our problems are. I think most people have only a handful of real friends, with real empathy.
I hear you, and empathy is important. However we are what we think. There is a famous piece of writing that is called "As a man thinketh." Pardon the man part it was written like a zillion years ago. You should check it out, it's super short like 30 pages but its a famous piece of writing. We literally are what we think this is proven scientifically and biologically. Our thoughts are super important but so are our words. They did a study that showed you have to say something positive like 30 times to offset saying one negative thing. That's how powerful saying negative things are. I'm not downplaying your feelings at all. I'm a former first responder and have suffered with serious ptsd and suicidal stuff for years now. I'm just saying think about.
Look up the RAS (reticular activating system). It's the filter that everything passes through to enter the subconscious mind. It basically acts like a repeater. If you say "I'm depressed" for example over and over the RAS passes that through as a fact. Then the brain says okay we must be depressed.
Super fascinating stuff. Everything is temporary, including how you feel right now.

im 21 and have a lot of money saved up but i still think life suck because all i do is work. i usually work 16 hours a day . i work at my job for 10 hours a day then when i get home i work for another 6 hour because there so much work at home that i have to get done. all in all life suck because all u do is work

I agree with you 100% with everything you've said...but first and foremost you can't even stay centered and at peace with energy without income, PERIOD!...unemployment sucks. Money runs everything and without at least a job then nothing else will fall into place and give balance. But i do agree with you that life sucks and people should understand that and know that before living in a fantasy world of being delushional thinking that life is a perfect bowl of cherries.
