Titanium / Klutch Fixture Table Tips

- Harbor Freight recently released the Titanium Fixture Table which is very similar to North Tool's Klutch Fixture Table. I did a brief comparison between the two tables and showed the improvements I've made to my Klutch Fixture Table. I made a grinder rail, added a mobile base, magnetic tray, additional shelf, spatter cover, and a movable vise. I show the different diy clamps I made and suggest some clamps from Strong Hand Tools available from weldingsupply.com I'm planning on switching the top to a 5/16" plate and drilling the holes with my Vevor Magnetic Drill. Sadly, I was sent the wrong size annular cutter, so that video has been delayed a bit lol.

The idea for the vise is a good one. When I had a Grizzly table, similar to these two, I found that you can successfully use table clamps that just fit into the holes. They tilt more than they do in my Sigmund, but they worked perfectly well for the three years I had that table. Don’t let anyone say otherwise. You don’t have to reach under the table to screw a cap on the bottom of a clamp. Just buy a 16mm style clamp. The really cheap ones aren’t good and tend to bend and even break after some time. Good ones just cost $22 and are well worth it in the long run and can be used if you get a better table.
Thanks for letting me know! Which ones / brands would *you* recommend? I’m currently looking to get some for the new table top lol
@@MichaelRoachWV Strong Hand, also known as Build-Pro, which is a subsidiary. Fireball tools. There are others from large clamp makers. The size you’d want are usually about $22. I know I see people trying to save a few bucks here, but really, good ones last a lifetime. The cheap ones, well…
Just realize that you don’t have to clamp with all of your might. You just have to hold the part so it doesn’t move. A trick to getting tubes to lay flat is to understand that they are all curved a little bit, but on one side for square and of course just one way for round. Look down the part to see which way it curves. Lay it sideways to the curve so the flat side is against the table. Then you don’t need so much pressure to hold it flat.
If the table isn’t as flat as you want take the plate off and use a long level to see how the frame is. If there’s a bump on a corner, just carefully angle grind it flat. It could be in more than one spot. Shimming the table isn’t good because these no support everywhere else.
My Klutch is almost a year old and it’s welded. I did the two shelves too but used expanded aluminum as it was cheaper than steel, at the time anyway. Also added some casters. Nice table for the price.
I had thought about casters, but I wanted to be able to lock it down too. If I didn't get the base kit, I would've gotten some of those flip up casters. My Garage is sloped all over though, so I still have to fine-tune it whenever I move. I'm glad people are finally being shown this video lol. I accidently published it, then I hid it and got sidetracked, so it only got a couple views in the first 8 hours lol
I bought a klutch table about two weeks ago from Northern Tool, they're still coming welded to the upper frame.
THANK YOU! I’ll try and update the video tomorrow!
@@MichaelRoachWV I got no complaints, though I do plan to make my own larger table eventually, this thing definitely got me started off right
@@suspekt6702 there's no denying they're a tremendous value, but three years later, I'm done threading nuts lol
I just got mine but sans damn near most of the parts needed to build it or use it. Busted box so now asking the company what can be done for all the missing parts. But to add to your question about welded or bolted, mine is welded.
Titanium or Klutch branded?
@@MichaelRoachWV Klutch. They don't have replacement parts so I had to box it up and send it back. Very inconvenient. I will be going down to the local HF store and get the Titanium. They do have replacement parts for it if needed.
@@MichaelRoachWV Picked up the HF brand and it is perfect. Well, for being inexpensive, just right. I may get another one to expand it. We will see.
Checked my Klutch accessories on Harbor Freight fixture table 100% compatible ...
Ok, so, Harbor Freight's lying? I was kinda skeptical when they labeled them as 5/8ths holes when I knew this product already existed. I had some doubts that China would swap to imperial just for them, but I was going off *their* specs. Thank you so much! I've messaged tons and *tons* of TH-camrs who reviewed the new tables, and not *one* of them has ever responded!
@@MichaelRoachWV I just took a digital caliper to my Harbor Freight table. The holes are 16mm.
Great video. great humor. Great upgrades.
Thanks for the kind words, I'll let my writer know he isn't fired! He really pissed me off in my last video though: th-cam.com/video/QQunOJlRaSI/w-d-xo.html
@@MichaelRoachWV Haha, good stuff. Your channel is like so many other's that got started years ago, where projects failed but improvements were made along the way, and now they are top notch. Keep it up!
The vise idea is good idea 👍
It’s been used a LOT! I was thinking of getting one of those power drill guides / a mini drill press and making a bracket, but I ended up buying a mag drill instead.
Awesome Vise idea
Thanks! It also just came in handy to hold a pole saw for a tool review I’m working on now lol
What is the length and width of table did you purchase at Harbor Freight?
Mine is from Northern Tool, it's the Klutch Fixture Table (essentially, the same product, slightly altered) sovrn.co/y5hswdj
I haven't purchased the Titanium table from Harbor Freight
Just purchased a Klutch table and the top is welded to the frame
Thanks for the update! I'm still at 0 response from any of the "Product Reviewer" videos lol
you mentioned a HF base kit, neither of these are in my local store setup. Do you have the part number so i can find?
57289, 95288 are the SKUs I found online. I remember at my local HF, they were down on one of the floor shelves, a bit harder to find.

Thanks for the great video!!
Thanks, I hope you found some help info / ideas!
Sorry, I can give no suggestions, I have no welding table. I welded for a living for many years and still have lots of welding equipment but I haven't got to burn many rods in the last few years.
All good! I do some professional photography as well, but welding / TH-cam is a hobby at this point. Due to health issues, I’m often limited on what / how much I can do. If I had my way, I’d definitely do more of both lol
It's a resharpened cutter
I received the replacement they sent today, and I just recorded a little video. The new one looks identical, but it's the proper size. I thought they were only sharpened on the cutting head?
Yeah, it is a very common problem in chi-neh, you know, not giving the tools enough time to ripen, and what you get is 15mm cutters; it even affects the people and the quality: look how short they all are... Not like those corn-fed Americans and their tools 🙂
Thank god you got that hair cut 😂 💇🏻♂️
Yeah, I’ll have to go back and re-record the video now lol, can’t be slipping on camera
Nioce. 🥽
I hope it was an informative comparison for you lol
