I bought a Primeweld tig welder a few years ago. Very nice unit. I don't do a lot of tig welding, so after a few months of non use, I had an issue I couldn't figure out. I called them and they immediately diagnosed the problem, and sent me a replacement part, which arrived the next day... for FREE. When UPS dropped the part off at my door, I got an email from them within 15 minutes stating that the part had arrived and to please call them with any questions. I must say, in all my 53 years on this planet, I have never been so impressed with a company's customer service. That alone would steer me towards the Primeweld table. He wasn't joking when he said their service is second to none.

Great video! I actually just purchased an ArcFlat system from Langmuir recently. Got two tops, a leg kit, the bolt kit (did NOT JBWeld them) and some fixtures. I love the table and it actually shipped to me in less than 4 days from my order. I was surprised since it does say 3-4 weeks lead time. I do agree about the legs, but I can always make another set down the road if I need to so it was just kinda something to get it standing till I decide what to do. Even without JBWelding the tops together it is extremely flat from one to another and fixtures reach across them like they are one piece.

I have a pair of the primeweld tables side by side and it's the best thing I've ever done for my welding. They're solid and accurate, only complaint I have is that one showed up with the bottom side covered in rust. Wasn't a big deal but still a couple hours of my time to remove it. Admittedly didn't complain to primeweld, so no idea if they would have done anything about it. Regardless, for the price I'm very happy and have considered getting a third to expand my working area.

Mike and Gene are GREAT ambassadors for welding . And Primeweld IS the biggest bang for the buck, with customer service the other guys have nightmares about . lol I want that table as soon as I can afford it, along with the cut 60 . The 225 acdcp is really all I need along with the awesome cooler . I love TIG . :)

THANKS! Was just doing a last minute comparison before heading over to HF to get their portable table (my first welding table for my first welder, a Primeweld 225 TIG, so was just looking for "anything" to just get started making welds). Love the fold-up portability for my tight garage space, but the *toxic gas emitting zinc coating* makes that a complete non-starter. Thanks for this info so that I don't wind up with a warped table and damaged lungs tomorrow. Will be checking out the Primeweld table instead -- if you can't get "cheap but good, all you need now but you'll outgrow it" go all in for "expensive but awesome, overkill but you'll grow INTO it". Thanks for making me see WHY to get the most expensive table and that it's the CHEAP long term solution! You got a subscriber!

Maybe you missed it at SEMA, but STV CNC now has a few different models of fixture/welding tables starting at $500. They offer 3 thicknesses of laser cut tables so one could argue the thinner one isn’t a good fixture table, but fits well in your sample set right in the middle.

I bought a Harbor Freight adjustable table and immediately did two mods. First locking wheels then I cut the welds on the leg brackets, drilled the vertical posts and made the table height adjustable.Yes it warped, so I got a piece of 3/8" steel the 24"x36". Some day I will drill to top to use clamps

I've had two of the Langmuir fixture blocks since December 2020 and they've been amazing. Affordable and flat fixturing for the hobbyist or entry-level professional. Either the Primeweld or the Langmuir would be a world of difference above and beyond just about everything else available to the entry-level welder these days.

I was under the impression the Langmuir and the prime weld were both made by Langmuir and the only difference was the coating. This video was a big help and I’m no longer on the fence. I’m also 6-3 and the lil bit of extra height ontop of all the other differences, it’s a no brainer.

Interesting. I just got done drilling all the holes for a table just a little bit larger out of 1/2" steel. Now I have post traumatic drilling syndrome. Anyway, have any insights on the maintenance for one of these tables? They are getting pretty popular, a video specifically on maintenance could be really helpful. I know there are differences between cast iron and steel. I'm familiar with stoning surfaces to get rid of high points from my work on machinery, but that wouldn't be obvious to anyone starting out with welding. I'd love to learn more about it as well. Anyway, thank you for the video!

I just spent nearly $5k on 2 of the fireball tools new dragon wagon fixture tables and a handful of clamps & blocks for them. Tables are all inclusive w/beefy adjustable legs, casters & brakes.
Tables start shipping early December - I cannot wait to get them set up.
They’ll be my first fixture tables. I’ve been just using fireball squares & clamps on a homemade 1/4” this table until now.
I’m just a hobbyist in a home shop but I figure buy one cry once.

One issue I see with the weld together at home table is warpage after you weld it together ( heat ) . Also it isn't likely that someone looking for their first table is going to have a flat surface to bolt it to.so they are likely going to start out with an un flat table.

All fixtures work off hole size, 16mm amd 5/8th (edit: thanks Anthony) is pretty standard so the fixtures are sold everywhere. Be aware depending on what your clamping, thinner plates will warp easier and round out the holes as you apply torque.

It completely takes away the purpose of a fixture table. If you’re spending $700 plus on a table you shouldn’t have to go buy another piece of metal to stick on top of it. Not to mention every time you talk about it the price that pops up on your little picture is $65, that is for a 15” x 20” piece of 1/4” aluminum.
