Movie Super Shadow is now the main problem in Speed Battle
Whoever came up with the idea to give a Super character a wide multi-hitting “mini” boost that can last as long as a regular boost at max level deserves to be demoted to janitorial duties.
People who call these "skins" have never played this game after they were added. Not only they're separate slots but they also have way different items that change their entire gameplay.
Agreed. There is without a doubt a VAST difference between Shadow and Movie Shadow for example.

11:19 Thought I’d mention that this badass sword design is used from Sonic and the Black Knight itself. It’s the Ddraig Goch, which is Lancelot’s best weapon, and it’s amazing to see some of Black Knight’s craftable weapons actually get some spotlight. Plus, Gawain also uses his best weapon, Flamberge, as one of his attacks, it just doesn’t appear in his render.
That’s such an awesome reference!! Hardlight often pulls some niche stuff out of the bag. Love that!
Imagine if Infinite came back in a new Sonic game or in the IDW comics and he had his warlock outfit
You know with the storybook games and Metal Sonic's Reaper design, they could do Sonic's take on 'A Christmas Carol' (yeah, another one..) and have him be the ghost of Christmas yet to come and with Metal's character, it does make sense!

Dreading Oni Meph is so real actually. He's basically just taking over for old Mephiles imo. I started playing when they added Darkspine Sonic, so I was there for the Meph addition (he's my highest level Challenger/Special at lvl 10). And he was brutal to fight against, especially high level.
Edit: As for who I usually play? While I do change it up every few runs, I mostly fall back on Mephiles, with 565 battles (Also the rest of my top 5 according to my statistics are Chaos (207), Lancelot (118), Sonic (109), Darkspine Sonic (106) and Movie Shadow (105)). Although, I do only have a bit over half the characters unlocked
I truly wish I was playing when Darkspine sonic’s event was ongoing! Love that form.

Pyromancer blaze and valhalla surge are also great
Spring cream tbh, the main reason being bc behind those “innocent” eyes lies an absolute menace (pre nerf that is) the OG broken character.
I'd rather have that and og dj/punk instead of the abomination we're stuck with right now.

It would have been better to have Dragonfire Espio than Sonic because not only does Sonic already have a LOT of variants and Espio has none, but it's literally more in character for Espio than Sonic since Dragonfire Sonic looks like a ninja, even Dominus said that in the video. I don't dislike Dragonfire Sonic but I think it would have been better if it was an Espio variant instead.

Personally, I agree with this list, BUT Pyromancer Blaze and the only Whisper costume (it’s a lunar new year one, I forgot it’s name though) are also amazing.

I'm glad to see someone else mention just how sick this design is for Infinite. It's one of the best designs he's ever gotten. He's my main in game, with over 1200 battles with this unit. Even if he isn't that good, his design alone makes me want to play him a lot!
I'm a little upset that the OG specials don't get much attention anymore (Witch Rouge, Vampire Shadow, Santa Big, Elf Sonic, All-Star Amy, Slugger Sonic, Spring Cream, the Special Babylon Rogues, Lunar Blaze, Lantern Silver, Nutcracker Silver, Jingle Belle Amy, Treasure Hunter Knuckle, Elite Agent Rouge, Quarter Back Zavok, Linebacker Omega, Reaper Metal Sonic and Unicorn Cream). The new specials are great at all but with there being so much of them and being more popular, it's getting harder and harder unlocking/upgrading the OGs. Also none of the OGs have Chroma so yeah, in a way, they are getting ignored.
To me every single hardlight exclusive design is so cool!

the designs for these characters are absolutely amazing, what would ruin it for you is the gameplay and getting destroyed by new metas 💀
Even SEGA knows Mephiles is most likely their best villain. I hope they bring in back in any way. Maybe even remake 06 like they mentioned.
Theae designs deserve to be in some kind of storybook game, and honestly, an rpg with some amazing animations with these designs could be amazing let's hope that comes soon

What’s even better is someone imported the Shadow “skins” from Speed Battle into Shadow Gens.
As well as a bunch of other speed battle “skins” for other characters.

personally me, they need to give other characters like tangle more variations and not just the hedgehogs or even add more characters of other rarities like common, rare and epic
Honestly, I feel like they should have made Tangle the Drummer instead of Cream because not only is it more in-character for Tangle than Cream to be a punk rockstar, Tangle doesn't have any variations but both Whisper and Surge have variants who are both also from IDW like Tangle.
Reaper metal sonic was actually added in Sonic Speed simulator on roblox. I don't know if it was added on there first (might be, its a official sonic roblox game.) or if this made it first but that's just a cool fact I wanted to share.
90% sure that game just takes the models from sonic forces speed battle and just puts them in the game with shitty textures (with permission ofc from sega)
I've been playing this game almost every day since the announcement that Mephiles would be added to the game. I currently have all the commons, all the rares, all the super rares, 11 special characters, and 7 challenger characters. Out of the characters mentioned in this video, I only have Dragon Hunter Lancelot and Warlock Infinite.

Yo I totally agree with you about Idol Shadow's design and also here is some more designs that also go pretty hard in my opinion: Sir Galahad, Paladin Amy, Fortune Teller Amy, Extreme Gear Sonic, Slugger Sonic, and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0
How are Mighty and Ray not in this game yet? They got mf comic book characters, Lego, fucking Angry birds too! Revive my boys Sega, also a SA1 Dreamcast Sonic would be an awesome character too.
The only classic characters are Sonic and super sonic. It’s such a shame, we could use classic eggy, knuckles, tails, metal, etc

Some of these different looks for all the Sonic Characters deserve to be Official Redesigns.

I've always been fond of the Baseball outfits for Sonic and Amy since they were the first ones i got personally.
I listened to this video while playing a bit Frontiers, then the Wifi crashed for a few minutes and the video tried to load for centurys, so I started to concentrate more on the game, and got jumpscared to death when the Wifi came back and the video loaded 💀
As someone who's a Dragonfire Sonic main, I love his outfit a lot, Extreme gear Sonic cus I'm a riders fan, and Darkspine Sonic because of Secret Rings
Got to say that I enjoy Speed Battle for all the wins and loses I get. When it comes to characters I'm only missing 4 at the moment, Pyromancer Blaze, Thorn Rose, and the Lego versions of Amy and Eggman. Really felt like I won't get another chance for the Lego ones. I do think that Fortune Teller Amy also goes pretty hard, a design based on her hobby of telling fortunes? More so that I remember Amy being able to read fortunes before it's just that it was never really reflected in any Sonic media itself. The first time we really got anything about it was Sonic Origins were they added a scene were she is reading cards, and now in Speed Battle a look that shows it along with all moves that have Tarot cards in them. Which I should say that you should have included their moves (items) in this, not so much how they moves affect gameplay but what kind of moves they chose to use. After all you have the Lunar New year style Sonic and Tails that summon eastern dragons that is really dupe, Mummy Knuckles have ghosts that I think came from his levels from SA2, Valentine Rouge comes equipped with a Cupid arrow and a heart box of chocolates, hell Oni Mephiles really comes to beat you down with a Kanabo to really go farther with the oni look.
I’ll keep it in mind regarding moves for a later video! :) I didn’t put them this time as I haven’t unlocked these characters and didn’t want to seem like a poser for talking about gameplay I hadn’t played, but I totally get what you mean - an angle I didn’t think of!
Now, i needa see Metal Sonic & Mephiles dab each other up.

I honestly stoped this game for years, and then after finding out about Infinite
I had a theory that he was controlling everything as part of Eggman's scheme since the ruby is right at the end of the race and how the racers appear from cubes pulling a genjutsu kind of move
So I decided to wait till Infinite hits the game and when he did i was in school but during the Infinite vs Mephiles war I came back and nearly got him
But last year I got Warlock Infinite
I must say they left no detail to his origin whilst giving him a new look
And the phantom sword was a nice touch and nod to the prequel comic of which he debuted in as a mercenary
I thought I was loosing it when Lego sonic and red popped up in the character list
Why is it that this and Dream Team (which are mobile games), have such amazing character models? Some are reused, but we get great models are Silver, Blaze, Mephiles, Super Sonic, Super Shadow, Super Silver, Burning Blaze, the Black Knight characters, and even more.

@@dominustv I also liked the character renders in Team Sonic Racing. I guess that means we can expect Crossworlds to have great renders, too.

@ that still shouldn't determine the amount of points you get per game. if you become last, you get the least amount of points. if your 1st you get the most. no questions asked. it should have been like that
All these cool skins for all of the Sonic cast and yet there still is no Eggman skin except if you count the Lego one i need an Eggman dripped out
I’m honestly surprised that there isn’t more Eggman racers! At the very least one could expect Classic Eggman, Eggman Nega, Movie Eggman (Jim Carrey likeness rights permitting), Riders Eggman… and that’s before even thinking about any exclusives!
