    Lyrics:
Say, do you like mystery stories?
Well we have one for you.
The concept: relativity. That strange fantastic relationship between time, distance, and mass.
Before we're finished, I think you'll agree that truth is stranger than the strangest fiction.
    Why do the stars shine?
Why does the galaxy light up?
    E equals MC squared
That is the engine that lights up the stars
    Energy turns into mass
    E equals MC squared -
That is the secret of the stars
    Now listen carefully:
    The faster you move
    THe heavier you get
The energy of motion turns into M, your mass
    Energy of motion
Energy equals Mass times the speed of light squared
    An awful lot of energy
For a tiny amount of mass
Light travels at the same speed
No matter how you look at it
No matter how I move, relative to you,
Light travels at the same speed
No matter who is doing the measurement
And no matter what direction you are moving
The speed of light is the same
No matter what direction, or how fast
    As you travel faster
    Time slows down
    Everything slows down
Time slows down when you move
Time passes at a different rate
    Clocks run slow
It's a monumental shift in how we see the world
    The beauty, the majesty,
    The power of the universe
    Into a single equation
    (refrain)
It's a beautiful piece of science
    It's a beautifuly elegant theory
It's a beautiful piece of science
A planet like the Earth is kept in orbit
    Because it follows curves
    In the spatial fabric caused
    By the sun's presence
Space and time are bent by stars and planets
As things move through this curved space, they bend
Now all of this is illustration of the fact
that time and space are linked together.
As you're moving through bent and curved space and time,
You feel like you feel a force (x2)
    That force is gravity
    (refrain)
That is the secret of the stars

    • @willofone2120
      @willofone2120 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@nikitagloukhovtchenko6857 many but I will name a few. Boundless sites to see. near infinite potential for exploration. Vast untapped resources and mechanics to unlock.
Until we actually get out there and explore, any speculations of those wonders would be confined to the perspective of our one world. Once we're free of that limitation, we will have potential to be whatever we wish. What will humanity become when the guiding principle of earth is no longer a factor in our evolution?
Humanity has the opportunity to gain everything, and choose it's own form/path, as it spreads throughout the universe.
There's something poetic about bringing order and consciousness to a universe that seems keen on entropy

***** You're being a bit mean, after all, religion was what people created to try an explain how the universe worked. They were working with all the information they had and trying to make sense of it. It was incorrect, yeah, but give them a C for Effort. Religion only became sheeple controlling when some idiots zealously protected their beliefs instead of being empirical and using new knowledge to fix problems with their old knowledge. There's "Scientists" like that too, ones who deny new theories because they don't like them.
It all boils down to people being afraid of being wrong, and as a result, being even more wrong in the process.

    • @LootFragg
      @LootFragg 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kami K
Since most religious cults follow those outdated attempts at explaining the world, I think it's safe to say we need different terms for ignorant sects and groups of people trying to make sense of what we haven't uncovered yet in a spiritual sense. I associate religion with the former. Any cult that does not update its scripture according to scientific consensus.
And even ignorant scientists rarely deny the Earth being older than 6000 years.

    Meaning of E = mc2
    What is E = mc2:
E = mc2 is an equation of modern physics used as part of the Theory or Principle of Relativity, developed by the German physicist Albert Einstein.
The "e" is energy, "m" is mass, and "c" is the speed of light squared, considered the only constant. of the universe.
Knowing that the speed of light is about 300,000 km / s, the theory of relativity assumes that a mass could exceed the speed of light and can overcome the barrier of time and space.

Mr. Boswell, I wish I could send you a video of my 5th grade students singing this! All of my 34 students know MOST of this - word for word. I show your videos in class, and they go home and watch them more, and memorize them. There at least ten of your videos that we watch regularly. Some students even imitate the scientists, and say the lines as if they are the scientist. (This video, and several others, {We are Stardust, Monsters of the Cosmos, The Quantum World} actually fit in with my Next Generation Science Standards! ) You are changing lives, and inspiring bright young minds! Thank you so much!

"As you travel faster, time slows down"... so if I got this right - the speed at which we are moving around the spinning Earth is fast. Then the Earth is spinning around the sun. The sun spinning around the galaxy. The galaxy is moving super fast due to galactic things. We are moving inconceivably fast through space. That means we are experiencing time slower than those of slower moving galaxies, stars, planets. What if there was a planet in the middle of the universe that wasn't moving? It didn't revolve around a star or galaxy or anything. It just sat there in the middle still. Surely that would be absolute zero speed? Which means that the planet would not experience time? Time is just a function of speed? SO if you moved a 0 speed then the start and end of the universe would happen in the same moment? Conversely if you were moving at the speed of light then the universe would seem to exist forever? Man that's nuts!

Since energy and mass are interchangeable, a lot of calculations on the atomic scale are done with respects to the particle's energy in electron volts and not its mass in kilograms. An electron's mass is 510 KeV/c^2 which means that if you plug it into E=mc^2 as m, you get 510KeV.
This simplifies equations and allows the balancing to be simpler. But, you need to take into account not only the energy stored in the bits of an atom, but also the energy holding it together due to the strong force.
