This kind of thinking brings us closer to more intelligent life forms like aliens, the idea is good, living in unity, one society, symbiosis, speaking one language, but aliens won't contact us right now because we're too stupid for them. Primitive wars, divisions, destruction of the earth, climatic disasters, etc.

The galaxy is dark, and empty, and cold. It spins inevitably toward death. You will die too, one day. Perhaps you will have longer than we have. We hope so. But one day you too must vanish.
Until that time, you must light the darkness. You must make the night less empty. We are all small, and the universe is vast. But a universe with voices saying "I am here" is far greater than a universe silent. One voice is small, but the difference between zero and one is as great as one and infinity.
And when your time is passing, please send this message on, so the next voice can speak against the darkness.

From memory, there's a language in Africa that uses very looud clicks as a way of communicating and something like that would definitely stand out in a record like this. Then again I'm assuming who ever gets this is technologically advanced and could differentaite such ideas.
Honestly the idea of them all sounding the same makes me think of how annoying it is when 'alien' races in sci-fi movies only speak one language, we have hudreds, possibly thousands here on Earth, why wouldn't another species on another planet have the same situation?

This brings a happy tear in my eye and I would like to share my story.
I am going to University this year to study Space Engineering for my Bachelors and Electrical Engineering for my Masters.
These type of videos have been inspiring me for years, I was watching documentaries on the Voyagers, the Moon and our Universe over and over again and kept learning something new each time and I find it incredible boring to not to even try be a part of a bigger, better future.
Spacecraft designing or electrical car engineering - doesn't matter, as long I can bring a positive influence on our home planet I will have no regrets for when my time will come in the end.
And I am 24 years old, haven't always studied well in school and just now found my passion and so for anyone reading this - it's never too late guys, believe in yourself and make the most of your lives, I believe in you!
    Do something worthwhile.

I have such a deep passion for the stars and trying to understand the nature of things. I hope one day if we don't destroy ourselves that the reward from time will be we are not alone in the unforgiving vacuum of space. If we here on TH-cam are all friends i believe we can be friends with any race that comes our way to say "Hi" or "Die". Immense blessings from New York in the center of the epidemic and i wish to you the greatest things. I know you dont know me and i don't know you, but just know that many people like me will read your comment and be inspired to do better and contribute to the beauty of science and humanity which will be an investment for the future. Friend i ask you not to change since people like you are exactly what we need right now, an oasis in the desert. A light in a dark tunnel. The hope in despair. Good luck friend and just know in this entire little corner of TH-cam, everyone wants to read a comment from a person like you in the situation we are in.

It’s a year since I’ve listened to this masterpiece. The Golden Record’s still venturing across interstellar space, with no sign of landing on a possible extraterrestrial planet that would know of our existence. Now, the whole world’s under a pandemic and hearing this song feels so different now.
We’re all locked up in our own homes, and stepping outside to travel to vast places and meet people around...
It feels so *alien...* So is the song, but it’s so comforting to listen to.

Come home from a crappy job. Annoyed at people there and at family who can't pick themselves off the floor. Wrapped in that bubble that financial Insecurity and stress puts you in. Then I watch this and realise we are on a speck of dust compared to the vastness of the universe. It's easy to forget that we sent something out there and it's zooming along right now as I slowly realise half the shit in my life really doesn't matter. The problems of one person mean nothing. Family and what we put into community can change the world for the better.
