  • Here’s a physical method for how to see if your motherboard has a TPM chip to be able to install Windows 11!
Below is video how to check on your OS if you don’t want to open your PC: • TPM 2.0 Check If Your ...
Edit 1: some mobos have different pins for their TPM chips like 6 across by 2 down. You’d just need to purchase a different sized TPM chip than me.
Edit 2: touch metal to ground yourself, not wood.

You don't ground yourself by touching wood. The TPM port is also labelled, just underneath when you point it out and say what it looks like it clearly says "TPM" printed on the board.

ROFL touch an insulator to ground yourself. Smart. 🤣

Seriously though. Touch an unpainted copper pipe going into a radiator. Central heating systems will be grounded if installed correctly. You did get a professional to do it right? 🤪

    TPM-L R2.0 20-1 Pin

This method only works for mobos that support add-on TPMs. My Dell Optiplex 5040 doesn't have a TPM header but used to have TPM 1.2 in the BIOS (keywords: used to). The TPM option disappeared from my BIOS one day, leading me to the conclusion that the TPM is dead, and I have no way to tell if any computer has an on-board TPM that died.

Where is one to find a place to buy one? Is this something that we aren't going to be able to get. If so thats a shame that a computer that isn't that old now won't be able to run windows 11.

Another thing is I found the AMD Ryzen 7 has fTPM already you just have to enable it in the BIOS. Then I still failed the 11 compatibility check. The Ryzen 7 1700 isn't in the widows 11 compatibility list of AMD processors now. Maybe it will be added because it meets the windows 11 requirements of 1.0Ghz, 64bit, 2 cores or better. Idk

@@Nextil I was able to work out the my Ryzen 7 1700 has a tpm device built in. I just had to turn it on in the BIOS. It was called AMD fTPM. Now win10 see it as a device. The issue is now that the CPU is not on Microsofts list of AMD supported CPUs yet. I an assuming it will be by launch because it's well above the minimum requirements.
