Y'all remember that time where Biff was onstage and randomly threw a pair of scissors on the ground and backed away like he saw a live python on the floor? I think it was the episode where Dave was cutting people's pants into shorts or something...

Things went much better for 1996 Marshall Sylver than for 1986 Marshall Sylver. Obviously the sunglasses were unnecessary if he can hypnotize over the phone.

Several years after this happened, I was at the Ed Sullivan Theatre, outside on 53rd St. and I asked Biff about the authenticity of this clip. He didn't come right out and tell me no, but by the careful and humorous way he answered the question, the real answer was: no, he didn't really pass out and go into a hypnotic trance.

No. One of my psych classes discussed it with a visiting psychologist who used hypnosis. Hypnosis is much more complicated than Vegas-like shows present. If it were so simple, drug, alcohol, overweight, etc. problems, wouldn't be problems. Plus, many people aren't easily hypnotized.
